Janet Hegarty, CSB

What Janet loves about Christian Science is the way it answers pressing questions that come to all of us. Questions like: Who am I? Why am I here? How can I find health and happiness? These questions were uppermost in her thought as she entered college.

Lesley Ruth Pitts, CS

It was during high school that the direction of Lesley’s life changed. Although she was raised as a Christian Scientist, it wasn’t until she experienced the joy of helping someone during a youth club outing that Lesley finally understood what it took to love unselfishly.

Phillip Hockley, CS

Phillip is accepting lecture invitations from branches only in the United Kingdom during the 2024-2025 lecture year. Although humble beginnings and hard knocks taught Phillip the value of being honest and hardworking, for oneself and others, that lesson did not last long into adult life.

Alison J. Hughes, CS

Growing up going to the Christian Science Sunday School, surrounded by a family actively living the teachings of Christian Science, Alison and her siblings had quick healings of the usual childhood scrapes and illnesses. Her grandmother was a Christian Science practitioner for many years and so from a young age she felt that studying the Bible and Mary Baker Eddy’s book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, brought practical transformative results. She found getting to know God better and her relationship with the Divine naturally resulted in praying for and with others. She started receiving requests to pray for others while she was still leading her professional career, first in property (real estate) and then university-based adult education.

Nicole R. Virgil, CS

Nicole's calendar is full for the 2024-2025 lecture season. Nicole’s father was a free-lance church organist, and her parents attended services at many different Christian churches in New England. Her mom had been on a years-long search to find out how to practice Christian healing just as Jesus did, and when she started attending Christian Science church services, she found what she was looking for.

Melanie Wahlberg, CS

Melanie isn't currently accepting further invitations for the 2024-2025 lecture year, and in general, she does less traveling these days due to her role as manager of the Board of Lectureship. Two influences that Melanie will never forget were the Christian Science Sunday School and a mom who turned to prayer and encouraged her to do the same.

Connie Coddington CSB

To live the spiritual laws of God—divine Love—has been at the center of my life since I was a teenager. In my mid-20’s, on sabbatical from teaching and studying voice at a Conservatory, the message came in the middle of a lesson: “This isn’t it.
