Humanitarian assistance

If disaster strikes a community, it is natural and loving to ask what can be done to support our neighbors—whether they are down the street or across the globe.

General humanitarian support

Support for general disaster relief is best directed to local and national organizations that specialize in such assistance.

Support for individual Christian Scientists

Giving and receiving financial assistance

The Principle Foundation offers short-term financial aid to Christian Scientists who are current legal residents of the United States or its territories. Please contact The Principle Foundation directly at 1-800-826-7756 or www.principlefoundation.org for more information.

Donors interested in making gifts to provide financial support to individual Christian Scientists in the United States are also encouraged to contact The Principle Foundation.

Individual Christian Scientists living outside of the United States who are seeking financial assistance for basic living necessities (food, shelter, clothing) are encouraged to contact local and national organizations in their individual countries that specialize in such assistance.

Support for Branch Churches

The Mother Church has funds specifically dedicated to assist branch churches and Christian Science societies around the world that have been impacted by extraordinary events. Branches are encouraged to contact The Mother Church at benevolence@csps.com to apply for assistance.

If you are interested in contributing to The Mother Church's Relief Fund, which supports branch churches and societies affected by disasters, please contact philanthropy@csps.com. Please note that this fund has a global scope to ensure that funds can be directed to where they are most needed.

Our prayer makes a difference in times of crisis

"The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by him; and the Lord shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders…. The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms” (Deuteronomy 33:12, 27).

"There is no power apart from God. Omnipotence has all-power, and to acknowledge any other power is to dishonor God" (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 228).
