The Promotion & Design Service Group (P&DSG) is looking for a digital promotions intern who would like to focus on improving engagement with readers of The Christian Science Publishing Society, including The Christian Science Monitor. Digital promotions require a blend of technical and creative skills to keep up with existing channels and adapt to new ones. If you enjoy working on the code, copy, and creative for campaigns, you’d be a welcome addition to the digital promotions team.

P&DSG is a service-based department that shapes and supports the promotion of the Christian Science Publishing Society and The First Church of Christ, Scientist. This internship will focus on nurturing new website visitors. During this internship, you will see how distribution channels including email, search, social, web, and print, can be used to reach potential subscribers and engage with current subscribers. You’ll have the opportunity to innovate and pitch ideas to strengthen promotion plans to increase subscriptions.

Opportunities Include:

  • Learn to develop web-based promotional strategies

  • Help optimize promotional campaigns

  • Support efforts to modernize existing acquisition and renewal efforts

  • Gain experience in campaign result analysis, with number crunching

  • Participate in discussions about the Monitor, news readers, and the future of publishing

Qualifications & Desired Qualities:

  • Strong writing, grammar, and editing skills

  • Familiarity with graphic design software (PhotoShop or Illustrator)

  • Proficient in HTML and CSS

  • Passionate about the news industry

  • Knowledge of current media trends and social media strategies

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and efficient self-starter with solid time management skills

  • Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Journalism, Web Development or similar fields

Program Dates: May 19 - August 1, 2025

Compensation: Interns receive a $400/week living stipend. They will also receive a $900 grant upon completion of the internship. These payments are taxable benefits.
