Church Activities and Event Planning Internship

Gain experience in planning events to help support church communities around the world.

This internship will offer an inside look at how the Church Activities Department supports churches and societies, informal groups, CSOs, Sunday Schools, Reading Rooms, as well as prison ministry and institutional committees around the world. Our department is a team that supports these activities both practically and metaphysically.

During the internship, you will actively contribute to the planning of Christian Science and Mother Church events, called summits. You will also have the opportunity to coordinate the activities of our high school internship program.

Opportunities:

  • Learn how we support worldwide branch church activities, inclusive of Sunday School, Reading Rooms, Readers and so on.

  • Develop proficiency in intercultural collaboration and partnership building by communicating with members of branch churches and informal groups around the world.

  • Gain experience in event planning and related logistics in support of our upcoming events.

  • Gain experience planning and leading activities for our high school internship program.

  • Learn and use agile project management practices, as well as tools like Trello.

  • Connect with, and support, other Christian Scientists at universities.

  • Learn how Salesforce, a customer relationship management application, supports the operations of the organization.

 Desired Qualifications & Qualities:

  • Active membership in a CSO and/or branch church preferred

  • Desire to support the Christian Science movement and strengthen church

  • An attitude of service; ready to prayerfully approach challenges

  • Fluency in French, Spanish, German or Portuguese is greatly valued, but not required

  • Cultural sensitivity

  • Experience with event planning

  • Experience supervising activities for high school students

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team; readiness to support team members in a professional setting

  • Desire to learn new skills

Program Dates: May 19 - August 1, 2025

Compensation: Interns receive a $400/week living stipend. They will also receive a $900 grant upon completion of the internship. These payments are taxable benefits.
