Tim Dixon: Immortal

Tim comes from a musical family and his love for songwriting began when he was only 16. He played in a couple of rock bands in high school, and recorded a full album of his own songs with his band before he started college in 2008. Tim wanted to write songs with a spiritual component, but he didn't know how to do it in a way that sounded honest. He experimented but wasn't always happy with the way the idea translated into music. In the summer of 2010 he met Michael Morgan, Nate Frederick and Justin Belote, and the four of them formed the It's About Good Collective.  Together they wrote and recorded an entire album of spiritual music. Since then Tim has felt much more capable of expressing the spiritual concepts he's learned in Christian Science through the music that he loves to play.

Lyrics:

“...Henceforth know we no man” II Cor. 5: 16
Like we’ve known before
If we live in Spirit
We won’t be fooled anymore. Can’t fool me.

I’m not made of things that vanish
I was made for Life immortal
I can heal the world from dreaming
I shine forth while matter disappears

Man’s not made from dust and fear
‘Cause God whispers guidance to his ear
Woman, you were never second best
You can’t suffer anymore. There’s no curse.

I’m not made of things that vanish
I was made for Love immortal
I can heal the world from hating
Deepen my life to the perfect child.

“Before deciding the body... is disordered, one should ask,
Who art thou that repliest to the Spirit?
Can matter speak for itself?” (S+H 181: 2)
Or is it a faker?
“Rise in the conscious strength...
to overthrow the plea of mortal mind...” (S+H 390: 32)

I’m not made of things that vanish
I can live by God’s word alone
I can heal the world from doubting
I rise whole and free
I rise whole and free.

(God is my Life, my Love, my Mind, my everything.
God, God I Love you.)
