I love to stretch the boundaries of long-held notions about human life and its limitations. The more I understand the one infinite and benevolent God, the more I grow to expect that good is ever-operative. When at a crossroads in my career, my love for mankind prompted me to realize that I was most needed for my commitment to spiritual healing, so I entered the Christian Science healing practice. Before dedicating myself full-time to this practice, my faith in God was tested as a student, an active businesswoman, an educator, and a stepmother to adolescent children. My career included serving as one of the early women hired in a non-clerical position by the U.S.

A career in spiritual healing—not even on my radar when I headed off to college! My love of numbers made accounting an attractive major, while international travels to France and Switzerland enriched my experience with a deepening global awareness. Marriage and family came before my degree, so I attended night school and worked in financial accounting for a railroad company, which was the parent of both a steel company and a trucking company.

Growing up in London I attended Sunday School and joined The Mother Church as a teenager. After graduating from Cambridge University with a degree in engineering, I initially pursued a career in music.

Occasional visits to a Christian Science Sunday school when I was a child had shown me the practicality of its teachings. Attending a Christian Science lecture was a turning point, and some of the ideas shared brought my first demonstration of healing during exams a month later.

Growing up with the stories of the healings that had brought my family into Christian Science – a great uncle healed of polio, my mother and aunt healed of leukemia – it seemed entirely natural to me, as a second-grader, to agree to pray for a sobbing playmate who asked me to do so after she tumbled off a swing-set.  The fact that she quickly returned to play seemed equally natural.

Experiencing first-hand the healing power of Love is Nate’s favorite thing.  It’s what makes him tick.Nate studied religion and perennial philosophy at Hampshire College where he was introduced to Christian Science healing. Although he was enamored with the academic exploration of spirituality, what he truly desired most was to practice spirituality in a tangible way — he wanted to experience God and heal others.After producing a documentary on miracles and traveling the world where he hiked extensively in the Himalayas, Nate came to Boston in 2008 to work for his church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist.

Alexandre is available to lecture in the United States.Practicing law in France and the United States for several years informed Alexandre’s practice of Christian Science. The law was not just his job, he says, it was his passion.

The hunger for all things true has been the heart of my search, quest, and practice of Christian Science healing. I have found no other teaching that gets to the crux of it:  Why Christ Jesus was so confident that we too could and would follow in his footsteps.
