Christian Science healing. I love those words! In my teen years, I suffered from a skin condition that would come and go. During this time I studied Christian Science deeply.

I became acquainted with Christian Science thanks to a niece of mine who was born deaf and dumb and was healed by a Christian Scientist in 1973. I started investigating Science through the Bible Lessons . I was then healed of a violent headache and of a white spot on one of my eyes. After I shared a few spiritual truths with a friend, he was healed of malaria.

After graduating from college and law school, I joined the United States Justice Department as a trial lawyer in the Antitrust Division and then as a special Assistant United States Attorney, prosecuting criminal cases from indictment to jury trial to sentencing. From the beginning of my legal career, whenever I went on my own ambition and talents, I would falter.

As a young adult, I would have identified myself as Christian, spiritual and non-religious. I am not sure if I found Christian Science or Christian Science found me.

Occasional visits to a Christian Science Sunday school when I was a child had shown me the practicality of its teachings. Attending a Christian Science lecture was a turning point, and some of the ideas shared brought my first demonstration of healing during exams a month later.

Christian Science has always been most precious to me. I was raised in it, and I can honestly say there was never a time when I didn't think of myself as a Christian Scientist.

Growing up, Christian Science was my lifeline. I wasn't super tied in to church, but I had a concrete feeling there was a source I could turn to for comfort, inspiration, and direction: God.

Christian Science found me while I was just a young person. I had been fairly content with life, but my experiences and something within were showing me that life had a bigger significance than what appeared.
