Join us for an unforgettable night of music at the Christian Science Plaza in Boston’s Back Bay, and walk through the Mapparium® globe in the How Do You See the World™ experience for free. Grab a bite to eat at local food truck, Indulge India, and dessert from a pop up by Nothing Bundt Cakes.

  • 6:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m. Outdoor concert. Jam to Afro-pop originals, R&B and soul melodies, folk-pop and bluegrass tunes, and covers of top hits

  • 5:00 p.m.–9:30 p.m. Free admission to the Mapparium globe in the How Do You See the World? experience 

  • 5:00 p.m.–5:40 p.m. Take a free, 40-minute tour of The Mother Church, featuring a brief demo on one of the world’s largest pipe organs

Albino Mbie is an award winning musician, guitarist, singer, composer, and sound and mixing engineer from Maputo, Mozambique. He loves to combine and capture the energies and rhythmic patterns of different musical traditions from Mozambique, the U.S., and other places around the world to create a unified and unique Afro-Pop and Moz-Jazz sound. Albino recently released “Mafu,” an album of African rock and roll.

The Robbie Pate Group

Robbie Pate is a vocalist and pianist, specializing in music styles that range from hip hop to R&B to jazz to acapella. Most notably, Robbie has toured internationally with the Alexey Podymkin Quartet in 2018 in Russia, and in Japan with the Yuki Futami Trio in 2022 and 2023. Robbie currently performs with The Matt Savage Groove Experiment and has a piano bar residency at Tin Pan Alley in Provincetown.

Farayi Malek has traveled the world as a Grammy-nominated vocalist with Danilo Perez’ Global Messengers. Now she’s stepping out as a solo artist and bringing the diverse sounds and experiences of her life into resonant songs, combining the American folk music and hymns of her childhood with the blues and jazz of her university years. She is a Salt Lick Incubator award-winner and will be releasing her debut EP this fall.
