I like that. Thank you Maryl. It is a simple message and one that applies so much to me now. I am listening to many voices in my thoughts and how can I pray when the voices take all the attention away from trust, serenity, surrender to God's goodness for me? I love the simplicity of what we must do. The idea is simple and yet very easy to be distracted, to forget , to get waylaid from the focus on God.
Have a serene day, one and all, with full focus on God, higher ground. Thanks again.

When we have a tumult in our heads and can’t keep a thought straight, is as if more than one person where talking to us at the same time: we can’t make sense of either one!
We can do ourselves a favor and listen only to one voice, we need to give God our undivided attention instead of rehearsing the various possibilities presented to us by our negative thoughts.
Let this be a lesson to us all:
“Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men” http://bible.cc/luke/9-44.htm

Thank you Maryl,
As I listened to your Lift I thought of these words from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy "commune more largely with the Divine Mind" (p 84:15).
Often when I am spending time out with my camera, I find the cell phone (mobile) can be such a distraction. I am also careful who comes with me because not only can they be a distraction but they often have a different sense of time.
When it comes to photography, I have to be patient, careful, ever-watchful and alert to what is already there. I need to prepare myself to see the beauty around and "other voices" can be a distraction. To me, this is like a healing, where time does not matter, my focus is on the result. When you look at a perfect picture your sense of time does not enter that view of the picture. All you see is the beauty. That is similar to a healing.
Some time ago I had to work with shutting out other voices as I awoke one Sunday Morning unable to walk after being injured the previous evening. In summary much work went into the recovery and I had to shut out the "other voices" especially those who said I will never fully recover.
Of the many Truths I held firmly to was Hymn 169 and the sentence "one step enough for me". I was First Reader and had to go to Church as there was no one else to replace me that morning. Step by step I made it and step by step I was fully healed - that perfect picture.
Thank you Maryl. I shall keep tuned to the One Voice

Thank you, Mary. Good morning Daily Lifters.
This thought has come to me several times in the past couple weeks.
It is so important to listen to the divine Mind and not let all the different opinions of mortal minds interfere with the demonstrations through Christian Science.
Also, we need to stand porter at the door of our own thought and not let fear, doubt, blame, shame, or guilt enter our thinking.
"Give our undivided attention to the voice of God." Listen, Follow, and rejoice all the rugged way.
Truth, Wisdom, Love, and Sincerity,

Thank you, Meryl! So succinct is this angel message you bring and share with us today. No time is to be spent in giving attention to any but the One Voice. No guilt, no blame, just childlike turning and attention and obedience to our Father-Mother God. . Thank you, God! Thank you Meryl. And thanks to all the lifters. Troy from Barbados, your photography comparison is wonderful and timeless. I like what you indicate about choosing the thoughts that might go with you, because they may have a different sense of timing. It is not to exclude anyone, but it's all love and wisdom which blesses the one/ones you may choose and the one/ones you may not choose to go along.. Thanks for your "one step enough for me" and the testimony of your dear healing.

Thank you, Troy #12, for your great story. Your photos must be excellent. Wonderful to hear about your healing as you were obedient and served God at church. I have just returned from an excellent gratitude meeting. This is where our Sunday School students run a short testimony meeting. Our lovely young first reader had the theme of service. It was great to see young ushers welcoming us at the door, taking the microphone to speakers and playing the hymns on violins and a cello.

Thank you Maryl for your words of wisdom. I have found a way of finding that one voice, daily,at the end of my own personal Yoga practice, when I melt into the floor and pray; reciting loving words throughout the alphabet. It's lovely how they come to me, out of "left field" Abundance, Beneavolence, Compassion,Devotion, Energy, Faithfulness, Gratitude, Honour, Innocence,Justice, Kindness, etc. It amazes me how many I come up with daily! Healthy loving thoughts..all from God. xx

You were speaking directly to me today Maryl! Just what I needed to hear! I'm taking a stand to remove the transcript of a recent argument with someone I love out of my head and replace it with recognizing the action of God's Love permeating this relationship and knowing that there is a perfect plan in place. I do not have to "punish" the seemingly callous action and I can listen for only God's voice. Thank you!

So perfect a lift today! Thank you, dear Maryl! I was just talking to a friend the other day and remarking on how important it is for both of us to find time to carve out a space of peace and quiet contemplation in each day. I often start my day with listening to past Sentinel Radio Programs on CD's to help keep my thought uplifted as I get ready for school. "When the enemy shall come in like a flood......." [Isa 59:19] "Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good and the true......" [Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy 261:4] Sometimes it seems like, "The higher Truth lifts her voice, the louder will error scream, until it's inarticulate sound is forever silenced in oblivion." [Science and Health 97:22] We as Christian Scientists have such a perfect work to do for ourselves, our loved ones and for the World - Listening to the Voice of the One Love today! XOXO!

About six months ago, I had been feeling extremely frustrated by my neighbors' almost non-stop noise. I felt distraught, even fraid, because I just couldn't seem to get enough quietude in which to pray or even to have clear thoughts.
I had a breakthrough when I realized that God doesn't require certain physical conditions in order to be heard, but speaks to us in our inner hearts. I went into a room farthest from the sound of these neighbors, though I could still hear their television, but the real "closet" I was entering was my decision to "hear no other voice." I had to ignore every material or self-willed thought, every personal goal and opinion, and ONLY desire to hear and know and do God's will. And guess what? I COULD hear God. I was so grateful for this demonstration. And since then, I'm much less bothered by my neighbors...in fact, they seem a little quieter. Big lesson for me: it's my choice to shut down the "noise" and truly follow the first commandment.

Well, upon hearing that somebody dear to you was unjust and callous, my first reaction was to go kick them in the shins! How dare they be mean to you! But then, I followed your lead, and decided to love. If you could love them, because God loves then, then I will, too. Thank you for saving their shins.

Matt Rutherford solo sailed around the Americas. WOW! He was interviewed this morning on Wake Up with Al. When Al asked him something about how he coped with being alone, wet, cold, etc., Matt answered (I wish I had the real quote) something to the effect of really focusing on the work at hand and NOT thinking about those things. The way he answered made me think he was quite sure of this approach and that he was, I don’t know, maybe “practiced”.
Turning to divine Love, literally step by step (great example #12), is our opportunity. I love your alphabet game #27 Janine! Going to enjoy that! I like this..what Mary Baker Eddy wrote: “Spiritual sense is a conscious, constant capacity to understand God.” S&H 209:31 Conscious and constant. Yep, if we want to understand, we should listen!

If it is not GOOD it is not from GOD. Just as the sheep we hear our master's voice. Just as the thousand of sheep in their bands ,being separated on the Idaho hills. I, too, was up most of the night with 'many voices' of worry. It finally settled into prayer- Father help me just hear you'. Then came the reminder that I did not have to accept all those worries about others. I was to know that they were God's expression of good and just focus on knowing good. Interesting enough- although I only had a few hours sleep, I feel such joy today.

After listening to this lift, I am reminded of what Mary Baker Eddy says: "to keep our minds filled with Truth and Love, that sin, disease, and death cannot enter them. When we are listening only to God's voice, she continues, "it is plain that nothing can be added to the mind already full. There is no door through which evil can enter, and no space for evil to fill in a mind filled with goodness." Thank you so much Maryl and daily lift team.

Aboard a ship there are many constant sounds --- the engines, propeller shafts, hatches opening and closing --- all magnified by the steel hull. They are referred to as "ship noises," and you learn to just tune them out. I'm going to begin using the same process in tuning out the agressive suggestions that are constantly coming at us in the news, conversations, and on our lap-tops. I'm not a "steel hull," I'm a spiritual idea.

Merci, Maryl !

Thank you, Maryl, for this special Lift. You told your story (which made this old topic I still need to obey) so fresh, attention grabbing, it brings good ways to use this where I haven't been doing. For a few days, my sound is out again, so I listened to only your voice by phone, but heard the silent voice of God speaking to me. Since the call, I keep hearing whispers. I'll be working with this long after today. God is indivisible, so His voice can't be encouraging us we are healed, and luring us to believe in lingering symptoms, or blaming us for failure to get it right sooner. Though He speaks to each of us in a way to meet our individual need, His voice is One in Truth, Life, Principle, Spirit. Soul, Mind, and Love. Since He knows and causes no discord, it is our individual reception and reflection that hears His constant message to us differently, but with single purpose, much like the same sunshine dries clothes, enlivens plants, warms Earth, produces rainbows, etc. Thanks, again, and enough writing, I need to be listening for the next message sent to me each moment. #12 Troy, I need to become as discerning as you in making selections. # 38 In Progress, and #27 Janine, nice guides to follow! Special thanks to # 28 Nelly, and # 92 Michèle. Today, if allowed, I've enough time to share Google translations (they're not always accurate) from you both, so all may enjoy and appreciate. It's so inspiring that you listen to and read comments mostly in English.

"Love, fragrant generosity, bathes all in beauty and light" MBE
And that's the voice that predominates in thinking, one voice as God is one, if He is One, one is the way and a gentle path is leading us the right way, the Christ.
If we understand that we will be aware that One and constant voice. Yesterday we talked about moving over crencia all material and this is the only way to do it, hear the voice of God to fulfill his government silencing voices that voice wisely external and take us to the eternal Ego.
Mary thank you very much for this message from you and this chain of daily inspiration.

Please (or thanks- my interpretation, the rest is Googles), Maryland! As adults, we can silence the voices that preach the negative with varying degrees of success. We can eliminate all erroneous conditioning installed in our minds since our childhood by our surroundings, the events of our past, etc.. But if pure and impressionable children can not resist all that, if they are not educated by Christian Scientists or simply by caring people who value them and train them to think positively. It is therefore very important that everyone who has the burden of raising children, not 'pollute' not mind these little creatures, they must not only listen to that voice that is nothing but love. Their own voice to be the perfect reflection of the One Voice, so all these little ones are happy, filled with love and know that they are not deprived children, but children of God, perfect and able to withstand the 'evil' apparent knowledge that they live in God when everything is HARMONY! Love and blessings to all! Michele de France

Thanks, Mary, just what I needed to turn to the voice of God after I read a very hateful message that was emailed to me about Pres. Obama. Instead of letting this repeat itself in my thought I need to listen to what God says. Thanks again. Joyce

Dear Maryl,
Thank you so much fro this 'lift' yesterday. Heeding your message saw me through a busy (and very wet) day which included journeys on buses and trains and presiding at a funral service. All worked together even better than I could have expected when I listened to only one voice - the voice of my shepherd - from this week's Bible Lesson. Bless you for my wonderful day!

I love to read the comments from other readers of these blessed lifts. tjc(#77) swept me away, saying"up most of the night with voices of worry"...then, "settling into prayer." Ain't that the truth! So many succinct messages of truth and love, my cup runneth over. Thanks again to all.

Thank you, Meryl! What simple and complete wisdom! I've often thought when I got myself into a bind, "Turn back to God." Now I think, "Listen to God." And I love the note above, listen "...to only one voice - the voice of my shepherd..." Thank you!

- 4/25/2012I like that.

- 4/25/2012When we have a tumult in our heads and can’t keep a thought straight, is as if more than one person where talking to us at the same time: we can’t make sense of either one!

- 4/25/2012Thank you Maryl,
As I listened to your Lift I thought of these words from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy "commune more largely with the Divine Mind" (p 84:15).

- 4/25/2012Thank you, Mary.

- 4/25/2012Thank you, Meryl!

- 4/25/2012Thank you Maryl for your words of wisdom. Healthy loving thoughts..all from God. xx

- 4/25/2012You were speaking directly to me today Maryl! Thank you!

- 4/25/2012So perfect a lift today! XOXO!

- 4/25/2012About six months ago, I had been feeling extremely frustrated by my neighbors' almost non-stop noise.

- 4/25/2012Well, upon hearing that somebody dear to you was unjust and callous, my first reaction was to go kick them in the shins! How dare they be mean to you! But then, I followed your lead, and decided to love. If you could love them, because God loves then, then I will, too. Thank you for saving their shins.

- 4/25/2012Matt Rutherford solo sailed around the Americas.

- 4/25/2012If it is not GOOD it is not from GOD. Just as the sheep we hear our master's voice. Just as the thousand of sheep in their bands ,being separated on the Idaho hills. - 4/25/2012I, too, was up most of the night with 'many voices' of worry. It finally settled into prayer- Father help me just hear you'. Then came the reminder that I did not have to accept all those worries about others. I was to know that they were God's expression of good and just focus on knowing good. Interesting enough- although I only had a few hours sleep, I feel such joy today.
Thank you all for sharing and Maryl for reminding.

- 4/25/2012After listening to this lift, I am reminded of what Mary Baker Eddy says: "to keep our minds filled with Truth and Love, that sin, disease, and death cannot enter them. When we are listening only to God's voice, she continues, "it is plain that nothing can be added to the mind already full. There is no door through which evil can enter, and no space for evil to fill in a mind filled with goodness." Thank you so much Maryl and daily lift team.

- 4/25/2012Aboard a ship there are many constant sounds --- the engines, propeller shafts, hatches opening and closing --- all magnified by the steel hull. They are referred to as "ship noises," and you learn to just tune them out. I'm going to begin using the same process in tuning out the agressive suggestions that are constantly coming at us in the news, conversations, and on our lap-tops. - 4/25/2012Thank you, Maryl. Your lifts are always so clear and helpful. I'm grateful, too, for the other listeners' reminders - especially that there is a perfect plan in place, one step enough for me and if it isn't good, it isn't from God. I can appreciate all of these.

I read somewhere that one of Mrs. Eddy's favorite hymns was LEAD KINDLY LIGHT,Hymn 169.

- 4/25/2012Merci, Maryl !

- 4/25/2012Thanks, Mary. God's angel thoughts are always present to bring comfort and healing to any situation. Erroneous thoughts would try to usurp that power. I like to do as Jesus did when he simply stated. Get thee hence, Satan, and put it behind him.

" Still stronger evidence that Jesus' reproof was pointed and pungents is found in his own words,- showing the necessity for such forcible utterance, when he cast out devils and healed the sick and sinning. desde Peru- estoy aprendiendo Ingles, para conocer en profundidad los escritos de nuestra amada guia Mary Baker Eddy.

- 4/25/2012Maryl, that was just wonderful!! Thanks for the story that you shared, too....it really described the thought beautifully! Yes, God's voice heals....the other distracting "voices" must be eliminated....and disappear into their "native nothingness"!! .....as light [sunlight] makes the darkness disappear!!
Thanks so much for the way you presented this "Lift" with such a clear and calm sense....easy to listen to, and easy to understand!

- 4/25/2012We can choose to listen to the Christ and so be fed of God, as we bear witness to spiritual ideas we are inspired of wisdom, then we can choose to dwell within the revelation and be at peace, thank you Father

- 4/25/2012Thank you, Maryl, for this special Lift.

- 4/25/2012"Love, fragrant generosity, bathes all in beauty and light" MBE
And that's the voice that predominates in thinking, one voice as God is one, if He is One, one is the way and a gentle path is leading us the right way, the Christ.
If we understand that we will be aware that One and constant voice. Yesterday we talked about moving over crencia all material and this is the only way to do it, hear the voice of God to fulfill his government silencing voices that voice wisely external and take us to the eternal Ego.
Mary thank you very much for this message from you and this chain of daily inspiration.

- 4/25/2012Please (or thanks- my interpretation, the rest is Googles), Maryland!

- 4/26/2012Thanks, Mary, just what I needed to turn to the voice of God after I read a very hateful message that was emailed to me about Pres. Obama. Instead of letting this repeat itself in my thought I need to listen to what God says. Thanks again. Joyce

- 4/26/2012Dear Maryl,
Thank you so much fro this 'lift' yesterday. Heeding your message saw me through a busy (and very wet) day which included journeys on buses and trains and presiding at a funral service. All worked together even better than I could have expected when I listened to only one voice - the voice of my shepherd - from this week's Bible Lesson. Bless you for my wonderful day!

- 4/26/2012I love to read the comments from other readers of these blessed lifts. tjc(#77) swept me away, saying"up most of the night with voices of worry"...then, "settling into prayer." Ain't that the truth! So many succinct messages of truth and love, my cup runneth over. Thanks again to all.

- 4/26/2012Thank you, Meryl! What simple and complete wisdom! I've often thought when I got myself into a bind, "Turn back to God." Now I think, "Listen to God." And I love the note above, listen "...to only one voice - the voice of my shepherd..." Thank you!
