You could probably sum up the number 1 desire, of people the world over, and it would fit into the category of "freedom". Freedom from oppression, from lack, from disease, etc. Mary Baker Eddy tells us, in S&H page 1, that "Desire is prayer; and no loss can occur from trusting God with our desires, that they may be moulded and exalted before they take form in words and in deeds." Our freedom comes from trusting in God. When we turn wholeheartedly to God, we learn from the Bible, that He directs our path. Our acknowledgement of the all-power and presence of God in our lives allows us the see freedom as a reality. Thank you again. Susan - 3/11/2014 What a beautiful theme to start my day! Thank you! Malcolm Drummond, Henrietta NY - 3/11/2014 Many thanks Enrique for this very rousing and inspiring lift. Yes! "Citizens of the world, accept the "glorious liberty of the children of God," and be free! This is your divine right." (S&H 227:24). "Rouse ye, rouse ye, face the foe,/ Rise to conquer death and sin;/ On with Christ to victory go,/ O side with God, and win! (Christian Science Hymnal #296). name - 3/11/2014 Thank you!! john dier - 3/11/2014 how wonderful to know that we are always free, to love. Jocelyn from Western Australia - 3/11/2014 Yes, thank you Enrique. Australia also has freedom as its claim for identity in the national anthem. In Christian Science we know that as Paul says, "We are free-born", a useful answer to the world prayers for freedom. It is man's birth-right and we can claim it for all, especially where oppression seems rife. It all has to do with oneness and allness of Truth, God, and man's inseparability from this Truth. "I love thy way of freedom, Lord". CS Hymnal, is it 136? All good and many thanks. roxana - 3/11/2014 Thank you for the words of God as freedom. Is it a choice that God has granted his children and it is my job to declare it is mine. I feel that my song is sometimes a whisper and sometimes a full chorus that screams out that I am free. Elena Shideler, California (San Deigo) - 3/11/2014 "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." Gal. 5:1 It would do us good to review our priorities and to see if somehow we are the abusers. "Truth makes man free" S&H 225:3 Many nations' anthems plead for freedom, but, "God made man free" C&S 227:17 Free from conflicts, addictions, health problems, the expectations of others... "The admission to one's self that man is God's own likeness sets man free..." S&H 90:24 "Citizens of the world, accept the "glorious liberty of the children of God," and be free! Ése es vuestro derecho divino" CyS 227:25 Galen - 3/11/2014 Thanks Enrique Coral - 3/11/2014 Thank you Enrique. Arvid NSW Australia - 3/11/2014 Freedom , YES , that sounds good . We all need that . Thanks Enrique Monika from Berlin - 3/11/2014 Thank you. Enrique, very well said how important it is to recognize that it is our from God given right to have freedom. A basic right which is many times taken away or restricted for people in certaint countries. But still we can promote our inner freedom as a protection from the turmoil of the physical world around us. Let us sing together the songs of freedom in the light of the divine for all of humanity. Margaret Sunshine Coast Australia - 3/11/2014 Oh yes, Enrique! And in Australia, where there was no need for restraints, harsh impositions were imposed on our own children and members of our neighbourhood. Mostly because of differing religions, or cold and unfeeling injustice. But gradually the improvements are gaining acceptance and recognition, especially among women and children, and members of other ethnic groups. It is certainly a long long road, but progress cannot be prevented, and every day gives us fresh opportunities to demonstrate our understanding of freedom, liberty and peace for all! Thank you Nate and the presenters; TMC; and the always moving forward Daily Lift family. Chilu - 3/11/2014 Thanks for this lift. Just what I needed to hear before going to bed. Another reminder of Love's universal provisions. We need to claim our freedom from anything that is unlike Love :-). Yvonne - 3/11/2014 Thank you, Enrique! This is a lovely, universal message! God made us free! Kate - 3/11/2014 So beautiful... name - 3/11/2014 I was just thinking this morning that we are God's song. God's song of freedom! Thanks Enrique. JJ - 3/11/2014 Thank you for this wonderful daily lift! One of the verses I love is Galatians 5:1 "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free". Growing freer and freer from a boundless basis :) Anne Daly, England - 3/11/2014 Just what I needed to start this day, thank you so much! Uta from Hamburg - 3/11/2014 Am so grateful for your wonderful Lift, Enrique, its such an inspiring and needed Lift to start this day - God is freedom and he made us free ! " I am born free" Paul said in the Bibel (Born of God). Michael Steven Van Stone, Japan - 3/11/2014 Thank you. Pearl - 3/11/2014 A very pertinent lift for our time. The following hymn immediately came to mind (H.83):- God made all His creatures free; Life itself is liberty; God ordained no other bands Than united hearts and hands. It ends with: "Love, and Love alone is Lord". How wonderful that we can claim and experience this freedom now - it is true for us all. We can shine that light of freedom everywhere. Mrs. Eddy says on page 210 of Miscellany:- :The right thinker abides under the shadow of the Almighty. His thoughts can only reflect peace, good will towards men, health, and holiness." I am going out for the day to claim my freedom from all false fears and materialistic thoughts, and pray to be a light of freedom shining out to all. Thank you very much Enrique, and to all fellow lifters. Freely we have received, let us feely give. Walter Tomeo - 3/11/2014 Wonderful Lift Enrique, it shows the great freedom of our continent, a freedom that can only be understood with the Christ over mind knowing that God is the only and supreme governor of all. Therefore we are all free to live our lives with joy, bliss and brotherhood when the understanding is Divine and the purpose is scientifically exercised. Grateful for your participation! Mary H,AL - 3/11/2014 Thank you for this wonderful Lift. Yes we are born free. We can express Love to every one in our thoughts and know they are free and God is with them. Peter Reichl-Cunningham. - 3/11/2014 Dear Enrique Thank you so much for your inspiring and loving Daily Lift. A listener. - 3/11/2014 Thank you for documenting the many anthems of freedom throughout the world. Very wonderful. Susan - 3/11/2014 Thank you for this perfect lift. God gave us freedom will resonate throughout my thoughts today. Thank you Pearl #21 for your comment and for all the others. I cherish starting my days out with the Daily Lift. CM from Pa. - 3/11/2014 Such a great lift! name - 3/11/2014 Thank you! Judy, New Hampshire - 3/11/2014 Thank you so much Enrique for your important lift and clear understanding! You quoted a passage from "Science and Health" that is a favorite of mine. Particularly as I am beginning to loose 50 some years of good old American racism with metaphysical work, your lift helped me tremendously. We know we are God's children and as such we are all one glorious family with freedom, but it is so easy to count the many job and housing discriminations of the past, and difficult to heal the history. Thank you again for presenting the spiritual Principle always at work. "Citizens of the world..." And thank you Daily Lift Team for making this healing lift possible. Lori in Crescent City, California - 3/11/2014 Thanks, Enrique, for sharing a number of national anthyms that have freedom in them and that freedom is our Divine right. Freedom is certainly at the top of the hopes for many nations. In praying for the world I often include the first verse especially of hymn 136: "I love Thy way of freedom, Lord, To serve Thee is my choice, In Thy clear light of Truth I rise And, listening for Thy voice, I hear Thy promise old and new, That bids all fear to cease: My presence still shall go with thee And I will give thee peace. What a beautiful and comforting promise for all fear, whatever it may be, will cease in the presence of God. Britton - 3/11/2014 I love that we are "Citizens of the world" with all the harmonious music of different languages. Thank you for explaining it so clearly and beautifully...It's a wonderful way to start the day and to respond to the news. Deirdre of Savannah - 3/11/2014 Thank you for thinking about this and passing it on. "Won't you help me sing this song of freedom" as Bob Marley wrote. name - 3/11/2014 Thank you Enrique CSB....extremely helpful...best line, "water it with gratitude" ...thank you Lord for the daily lifts, but mostly thank you for the Bible and Science and Health...thank you for the Christ and of course Thank you for your Love of all the world ....blessing all mankind. Eleanor, Roade, England - 3/11/2014 Thank you for this lovely Lift. Christine - 3/11/2014 Wonderful message, Enrique, to all "Citizens of the world" of the "glorious liberty" and "divine right" to be free. (S&H 227). Gratitude to you, the Daily Lift team, and Lifters everywhere! PIERANNA - 3/11/2014 MERAVIGLIOSO GRAZIE GRAZIE GRAZIE !!! Bevi, Sandpoint, ID - 3/11/2014 Thank you, Enrique! What a Freeing Lift today! Yes! We must water the "seeds" of Freedom that are planted in every Heart, until they sprout into Freedom for All from every ill on our Planet. Jesus told us that Truth makes us Free! And the chapter in Science & Health by Mary Baker Eddy called, "Footsteps of Truth" (pp. 201 - 254) tells us over and over again that God made us Free and it is our Divine Right. So Grateful for Christianity and Christian Science that have given us the Truth that makes us Free! God Bless Us, Everyone! Cassie - 3/11/2014 Early in my introduction to practicing Christian Science someone asked me what God meant to me, as God was definitely REAL to me. To my surprise, I enthusiastically and gratefully responded "FREEDOM!!!" Thank you for your excellent Daily Lift and the reminder that living our relation to God brings freedom to ourselves and others! In a profound way, living the true idea of God and man, increasingly brings infinite scope to freedom. Thank you, Enrique. Nora - 3/11/2014 The tone of your voice imparts freedom and peace. The deep spiritual research put into this speaks softly to my soul. It begins my day with the strong ring of the Amen. May I express my deep gratitude. k.james, NM - 3/11/2014 Enrique, your Lift is an anthem in itself, -- so full, joyful, and resounding! Thank you so much. Wonderful to know that it goes out to the world for encouragement, support, and prayer. Judi - 3/11/2014 I'm singing! Thank you so much! name - 3/11/2014 Thank you for this comforting and powerful message. What a wonderful feeling to know our freedom comes from our Father Mother God and we are enveloped in this freedom 24/7. Mary - 3/11/2014 Thanks Enrique. What a wonderful support for our prayers for the world––for government free from greed and corruption, free from tyranny; where one is free to speak one's mind without fear, free to worship according to conscience, free to develop one's talents, as one of God's beloved children. Sherrie - 3/11/2014 Beautiful. Thank you. nela - 3/11/2014 Thank you, Enrique, for “Songs of freedom …” The music of the spheres! With freedom songs in our hearts, we join the chorus of angels heralding “peace on earth” through good will toward each other, as we sing out in one “Golden-Rule-tone” voice. Even as if a baby at first, Christ is come - rejoice! We have been given a model of freedom to enjoy Life and Liberty in the Pursuit of Blessedness. Let our voices and our lives blend together as we remove our own and each other’s shackles to prove, “as in heaven, so on earth." It is our divine right to live in harmony. Look to God / all-Good / Love-itself!!! as the Master conducting us with a sacred baton to keep us in tune with perfect timing - each of us to perform our parts beautifully. ;-) Lyn in Alabama - 3/11/2014 Such a wonderful lift Enrique -- bringing us joy and the freedom unlimited possibilities for good. It reminded me of the lyrics, "Let freedom ring, let the white dove sing" (Independence Day by Martina McBride) The Bible says, "...the truth will set you free." (John 8:32) There is freedom in Love. Freedom embraces the falling away of all that is material. And when that happens, we find ourselves surrounded by God's freeing, infinite love. “Spirit and matter no more commingle than light and darkness. When one appears, the other disappears.” SH 281:4 “Closed to error, it is open to Truth, and vice versa” (SH 15:3) Truth and freedom go hand in hand and they are inherent characteristics of Love. SUE - 3/11/2014 Thank you Enrique for this wonderful lift. It has so many dimensions to consider. Thanks for all the comments which have been so heart-warming. 'You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. ......... serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”' Galatians 5:13-14 It is so important to climb out of our ego prison box, where our injured pride, arrogance, hurt feelings, greed, anger and stubbornness weigh us down. 'Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.'Colossians 3:13 With true forgiveness, we will find freedom and with love for our fellow man, we will find peace. Joan - 3/11/2014 Thank you, Enrique. This touches my heart and my soul. Mr. Mandela certainly demonstrated his freedom from all that would have bound him. He did it after much oppression, yet he brought it forth with joy. By this he helped move his country and countrymen toward freedom. Emilio - 3/11/2014 Let freedom reign, Love's will, in earth as it does in heaven! Thank you Enrique Jackie - 3/11/2014 Thank you! Let freedom ring! Ruth from Idaho - 3/11/2014 What a timely and beautiful Lift. Freedom is such a wonderful word and brings such hope and peace to many. I have been dealing with an erroneous problem and today I will declare my freedom and be rid of it. Thank you so much Enrique for your encouraging words so beautifully said. Thank you also to Nate and his team for their devotion to bringing these lifts to us, and always to the our family of lifters who comment with love and truth. Nancy, from Colorado - 3/11/2014 Beautiful message - beautiful guitar... many thanks for this up-lift! Gail M. - 3/11/2014 Just beautiful, Enrique -- Thank you!! TOBIAS A. WEISSMAN - 3/11/2014 Freedom is the natural inclination that's originally built in mankind. It is a Godlike trait that enables man to rebel at any thing that would try to take it away. Mortals makes a wrong conclusion as to how to protect that right by having wars, instead of seeking God for the answer. David understood this as was pointed out in this weeks lesson on SUBSTANCE when The Amalekites taken David's 2 wives. He asked God what to do and from studying this story, I don't think David had to kill anyone to free his wives because he first leaned on God and not mortal emotion. By TOBIAS A WEISSMAN AMELIA FROM CAPE COD - 3/11/2014 The Brazilian anthem also talks about "the sun of liberty...shone in the the country's sky..." Thanks for your lift on universal, borderless, unlimited freedom Judith Quimby - 3/11/2014 Thank you for reminding us of God's gracious gift of freedom in your gracious Lift. Anna - 3/11/2014 I woke up this morning feeling the need for inspiration pertaining to 'freedom.' I have felt burdened by debt for quite some time and have been wondering if and how my husband and I I will ever get out. 'Freedom' is a concept that I will be working with and praying with and I look forward to the adventure. name - 3/11/2014 "Let freedom ring!" Thank you Enrique Jan Heining - 3/11/2014 Thanks for this Daily Lift, Enrique! And from The Message: If the Son Sets You Free 31-32 Then Jesus turned to the Jews who had claimed to believe in him. “If you stick with this, living out what I tell you, you are my disciples for sure. Then you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will free you.” Jean - 3/11/2014 What a beautiful and enlightening message! It is early morning as I write, and I have been obsessed with regret and guilt for not being "perfect" enough all my 85 years. I need to feel freedom from this erroneous thinking, and your words bring me peace. Thank you so much! Scott - 3/11/2014 Thank you for this lift. I have been thinking about freedom for a long time. Jesus told us the Kingdom of Heaven is within us. That is where freedom is to be found. It is freedom from anger, fear, resentment, hatred, all the emotions of the human ego. When your consciousness is one with God you are free and you can sing your own song of freedom, with no discordant notes, only harmony. And you can manifest that freedom in a material world which seems like substance but really isn't. Thanks again. Mary Brower - 3/11/2014 It is freedom, 24hr-7day a week with answers that only Spirit could provide to all. Thank you sharing this inspiration today. name - 3/11/2014 Wonderful !!! Thank you . :-) Kaye from Kansas - 3/11/2014 I'm grateful for freedom and for this reminder. Thank you! VIRGINIA - 3/11/2014 Thank you so much. yes, I'm using my freedom climbing the ladder to paint my carport. I see freedom all around me and no limitation, where limited thoughts would want to limit climbing ladders as a senior person. yes, i use common sense and make sure all four legs of the ladder stand firm on the ground. that means i stand firm on the ground of my freedom as 'Love' made me with out limitations. I'm very grateful for Christian Science way of life and freedom to stay free.. Thanks for this today's gift. Eleanor - 3/11/2014 Thank you, Enrique, for this lift. It is so timely and perfect for my prayers today for the universal freedom to understand God as good and to know there is absolutely no separation of good from God. I saw a sign on a bus recently that said, "Good without God" sponsored by an Atheist group in the USA. We can all support our God-given right to be free of all impositions that say we don't need God to know and be good. And thank you, Margaret (#13) for your powerful work in your Australian neighborhood to break down the injustices you've suffered. How blessed we are to know all of us can water that seed of freedom in the heart of each one of us all over the world. D Brian Boettiger, Boulder, CO - 3/11/2014 Wonderfully educational and inspirational lift! Thank you! Sharon - 3/11/2014 I'm not surprised to learn that many countries are searching and striving for freedom. I was not, however, aware that it was included in so many of their anthems. Thank you. Cherry Ann Toronto Canada - 3/11/2014 Thank you Enrique for Canada "strong and Free"and Trinidad "land of liberty" with the words from S&H Citizen of the World and the love for all mankind we are great full for the understanding given to us all..... thank you Enrique Fay - 3/11/2014 Such and inspiring message that lifts my thought to higher views of freedom. Thank you. Lynn - 3/11/2014 Love, love, love hearing the words of freedom from the various country's national anthems!!!! And then followed up by Mrs. Eddy's words. Thank you so much!!! Sally from San Diego - 3/11/2014 The hope of eventual world freedom is always in my heart. I loved this call for all Daily Lifters to unite in this prayer! I will play this message to a group of Marine recruits who are in a Sunday school class I teach at Camp Pendleton each Sunday. They pray for peace every week! Thank you Enrique! Alexis - 3/11/2014 What a fabu lift!!! I didn't realize the concept of freedom was in so many anthems...but makes sense to me now since God created us free so that is our nature and anything we have to endure that is against our nature feels wrong and we yearn for the truth of our being. But that's my take on it... Anyhow, back to you....calm and thought-provoking and well-done. Thanks! Anna, Atlanta - 3/11/2014 Oh Enrique, what a blessed Lift. Thank you so much. And thank you to all who have written and shared, especially Martin #1, for what you wrote of the conditions of thought that enable us to see freedom as a reality. What I am finding too, in my life, is the importance of constancy in all of this, the importance of keeping our trust in God and the truths we are taught uppermost in our thought, constantly. In MY 160:5 Mrs. Eddy writes, “To live so as to keep human consciousness in constant relation with the divine, the spiritual, and the eternal, is to individualize infinite power; and this is Christian Science.” I am so grateful to our beloved leader Mary Baker Eddy for the discovery of the Comforter, divine Science, given to us in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Again, Enrique, an enormous thank you, and enormous thanks to our wonderful lecturers including Nate and the DL team for these Daily Lifts, and to the lifters who post such wonderful comments. Deborah Isle of Man - 3/11/2014 Great to hear your voice again Enrique. I used to enjoy the Radio programmes.. Great message too. Maurice Dawson, Belfast - 3/11/2014 Enrique, Thank you. Anni from Berlin - 3/11/2014 Hello Enrique, thank you very much for this timely and so very important subject! In Germany we have a very old - almost folks-song from abt. 300 years ago. May be even longer. It starts: "Die Gedanken sind frei! wer kann sie erraten? Sie fliegen vorbei wie nächtliche Schatten. Es bleibe dabei, die Gedanken sind frei!" which means: "the thoughts are free. who can guess them? They fly passed like night shadows. This is how it is: the thoughts are free!" This song has accompanied people during all these times of suppression during the different centuries. It is so comforting to know that though you may not be able to live in total freedom, you are always free to think freely and independently. Thank you for this theme, dear Enrique. Cricket Twichell - 3/11/2014 I love this line from S&H--"A spiritual idea has not a single element of error [ is completely free from any debilitating thought] and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive [ wipes out whatever would pose as an obstacle to keep us from making progress and demonstrating our innate freedom]. No need to suffer from what we perceive to be offensive behavior. Good to know we're not chained to hurt or irritated feelings. I appreciate # 17's thought that we are God's song of freedom. It's a catchy tune. Anna, Atlanta - 3/11/2014 …I wanted to come back and add another comment, having listened to this wonderful Lift again – what jumped out this time was your imploring us “to feel God’s ever present Love”. Mrs. Eddy says in SH 225:21-22, “Love is the liberator.” And now I see the daily quote offered today on the CS website, “The depth, breadth, height, might, majesty, and glory of infinite Love fill all space. That is enough.” Oh beauty beyond words! All else is included in Love. Thank you again. Fenna - 3/11/2014 Just last week I was thinking of Mary Baker Eddy’s marginal note “mental emancipation,” which took me to Bob Marley’s Redemption Song, which includes the phrase “emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds.” In that same song Bob Marley uses the words “Won’t you help me sing these songs of freedom.” The message about the need for freedom is out there in so many different ways! DIANE WARD - 3/11/2014 AWESOME.....THANKS SO VERY MUCH!! melanie - 3/11/2014 What a beautiful, freeing lift Enrique! Thanks so much for including the Latin American anthems! A big hug ffrom Chile! Julie - 3/11/2014 This is terrific - thanks, Enrique. #58 Anna - thank you for your insight - the freedom to be released from debt - that concept is so enlightening and #81 Fenna - freedom in so many different ways - indeed. I love the DL - it is so comforting, and so loving. name - 3/11/2014 Have been pondering the freedom to love in place of carrying around any form of a grudge or bad memory.Because of Christian Science, I know I'll get there. It is quite challenging, but this message really helps me see that it's a universal need and desire. How else will we find lasting peace? Love the anthems from the Americas, so dear. Thanks, Enrique and all those who share ideas. Caryn, B.C., Canada - 3/11/2014 Truly wonderful Lift, Enrique! Thank you so much! Anne - 3/11/2014 Thank you for the lovely truths! Cecilia Bieberbach - 3/11/2014 Thank you Enrique for the inspired message about freedom. It's so important for us the power of freedom. iindividual and collectively. Thanks again! Gary Rowland, Vancouver Island - 3/12/2014 I had never thought of so many national anthems as having the theme of freedom in them, as well as so many hymns and so many references to freedom in Science and Health. I just noticed Canada's national anthem has two references to freedom, ..."with glowing hearts we see thee rise, The True North strong and free!" and "God keep our land glorious and free! O Canada, we stand on guard for thee." Thank you Enriche, for this idea of freedom as an integral part of our spiritual heritage, and as a part of many national heritages. I feel more Canadian today! Elizabeth B - 3/12/2014 A day late but thank you so much. Thank you too Fenna, 81 for reminding of Bob Marley's son, Redemption Song. It is fantastic and also came to me when I saw the title of this lift. Lark - 3/12/2014 Lovely, message, Enrique! Thanks so much for sharing your heartwarming ideas with us all. Inge - 3/13/2014 The Sourh African anthem ends with: Sounds the call to come together and united we shall stand. Let us live and strive for freedom In South Africa, our land. God has blessed us with a people of love. Full of smiles and giving hearts. Thank you for reminding us of our God given freedom. Melvyn, Torbay, Devon, England - 3/20/2014 Thank you for reminding us that a seed grows, freedom from dis - ease and fear. LOVE grows freedom, Psalm 23 see S & H page 578 Julie in Australia - 3/28/2014 grow freer and freer from all limitations...what a wonderful promise Thank you.
