  1. Thank you!!

  2. Lovely and not just the Authentic You but the Authentic Everyone 'your thought rests upon'. A great way to start each day so thank you.

  3. Suzanne, Thank you.

  4. Thank you Suzanne for such a thought provoking DL. It made me think how often we are misled by the appearances instead of looking deep inside. Blessings to all!

  5. You are so right! Thank you, Suzanne

  6. This is a lovely Lift Suzanne ♥
    Shelagh xx

  7. Many thanks Suzanne for this very important reminder. Yes "Prayer reveals that certain unmistakable spiritual you." "Every prayer to Him is answered,/ Prayer confiding in His will;/ Blessedness and joy are near thee,/ Hear His gentle Peace, be still." (Christian Science Hymnal #76).

  8. Suzanne. What a strong, powerful message of the Truth about God and man. Thank you so much for exposing the false and claiming the truth. We make the choice!

  9. Thanks for reminding me of the true me. Born again spiritually. Will have a fabulous day.

  10. We think of a slander as an offense, but, couldn't it be that the attacker is just misinformed? Obviously is just not seeing the real man but is only looking at the external appearance.

"Let us be faithful in pointing the way through Christ, as we understand it, but let us also be careful always to "judge righteous judgment," and never to condemn rashly. S&H 444:16

"the real, ideal man appears in proportion as the material disappears." S&H 69:9

Let's strive to see the real man of Genesis 1 in every one, made in God's image, and that would annul all possibility to be offended or to offend others.

  11. Thank you.

  12. Thank you - have just been reading the chapter in S&H on Atonement - and it really brings out the importance of authenticity.

  13. Thank you.

  14. Thank you for this great reminder to see only the real man God's image and likeness.

  15. Really well illustrated Suzanne, thank you.

  16. Many thanks, Suzanne. This ties in so beautifully with this week's Lesson, and reminds us to follow through what Jesus was teaching us about true individuality as spiritual and reflecting all the wonderful qualities of God. Christ Jesus demonstrated this for us, and we must look for these beautiful spiritual qualities in ourselves and our fellow man, and see them brought to light in us all.

  17. Dear Suzanne,
Thank you for your clear message. I like the "looking beyond" . . . This is what seems at times to be not so easy. Still as you say it is the only way to know our true self.

  18. Going through a period asking myself how all this extra weight got put on; you
explained my answer in your Daily Lift about this false front. Thank you so

  19. Thank you so much Suzanne. Finding our authentic spiritual identity to begin with saves a lot of running in circles and getting;nowhere. It's impossible to fool ourselves, and we certainly don't want to deceive our friends and families. Especially when the beautiful image and likeness is right there all the time. It would be like painting a horse to try to fool the buyer into believing they were buying a chestnut when the horse is a bay. Spiritual man is so beautiful, and everything God has created him to be. Just remove the mask and let the world see the real man we always have been.
thank you Nate and the production team; The Mother Church; and the authentic family of Daily Lifters.

  21. This is so very, very helpful to see things more accurately. Much gratitude for your clear, spiritual insight...

  22. Thank you, Suzanne! Your lifts always seem to come right when I need them and on a topic I need! Love you!

  23. Thank you!

  24. Thank you Suzanne.

  25. Thank you for this clear Lift. Wonderful. Many thanks to all Lifters.

  26. Real you. The truth about yourself as a perfect child of God. And others true self.
Thank you for this powerful and so useful lift, everyday. New birth.

  27. Loving this! So much gratitude for the Lifts! Thank you Suzanne!

  28. "Seeing only Thy reflection we behold reality" hymn.
Thank you all for reflecting God, good

  29. That was wonderful Suzanne. I'm looking at the true untarnished, pure beautiful man of Gods creating and nothing else.

  30. Our authentic "I" can grow when fed with words of God from His Bible, from inspired writer as Mary B. Eddy, Joel S. Goldsmith of Practicing the Presence.

When I bought my first "Anthology of classic articles" years ago, I wrote before the page of contents "Guaranteed to find diamonds in each one!"

The Word of God! This is really the authentic gold that every heart is after.

  31. As hymn 51 so beautifully puts it in the second verse: "God could not make imperfect man His model infinite; Unhallowed thought He could not plan, Love's work and Love must fit ..Life, Truth and Love the pattern make, Christ is the perfect heir; The clouds of sense roll back, and show The form divinely fair."

If "Life, Truth and Love" made the pattern for our creation that authentic result must be absolutely perfect.

Thanks so much, Suzanne, for your uplifting and comforting message on our authentic being.

  32. Thanks, Suzanne. (and the music is perfect...gentle, forward-looking, is how I heard it.)

The false fronts of self-will, self-love, and self-justification may seem to protect us...they offer a false promise of control in our human experience. But most of us know from experience that they also lead us astray, cause problems in their wake, and (according to Mary Baker Eddy) are "the adamant of error."

I'm also noticing that those three illusions of control don't contribute anything to the economy. They waste time and money, just as a false front on a building is wasteful. But Mary Baker Eddy also gives us a way to reveal the real building: "Self-love is more opaque than a solid body. In patient obedience to a patient God, let us labor to dissolve with the universal solvent of Love the adamant of error, -- self-will, self-love, and self-justification, -- which wars against spirituality and is the law of sin and death" (Science and Health 242:15).

I'm glad I looked up that quotation before including it, because I'd forgotten the part about patience! I think this work offers plenty of employment!

  33. Thank you so much, Suzanne! Just leaving for the airport. This is the best message to pack and take this morning!

  34. Thank you for the engaging thought.

  35. I was just working with a few similar ideas about identity. To yield up a sense of character for a more spiritual one. And human affections need to be changed from self to benevolence, love for God and love for man. Also, accept my God ordered, law filled identity. Hmmm....What a sweet and encouraging lift this morning, so gently provided. Thank you Suzanne and the lift team for making these thoughtful inspirations available to us each day.
Prayer is the key to unlocking spiritual identity, to going beyond the density and limitations of character and material selfhood . And MBE's textbook Science and Health is filled with thoughts that guide us spirit ward. Happy day.

  36. Grateful for the message about authenticity!
And thank you for the new introduction music

  37. Your words this morning are so comforting. Thank you! I love that we see the real man when the false disappears through prayer. Thank you for helping us see the authentic man.

  38. Thank you Suzanne for this wonderful lift. Since God is all
this is all that we can really see. Thank you Number 19 and all the
    inspiring and helpful comments.
    Love to all.

  39. Oh, Suzanne, that was so Beautiful! Thank YOu! Every single human being on this Planet is looking for their authentic self. They may not know it, yet - but that is what they are doing here! Love this week's C.S. Bible Lesson on Christ Jesus in which we learn of Jesus' divine mission to heal all mankind of their false view of themselves and of the world. Science and Health tells us, in oh so many ways, how to find our authentic self: ".......mortals need only turn from sin and lose sight of mortal selfhood to find Christ, the real man and his relation to God, and to recognize the divine sonship." S & H p.316: 5-7. What a promise of our ability to recognize our authentic self! Love all the comments by the Daily Lifters so far and Love our Daily Lift and our Lecturers and the Daily Lift Team. God Bless You All!

  40. Exactly! An idea that we all need to incorporate in our lives.

  41. Wonderful ideas - thank you!

  42. Thanks - I needed that! A reminder not to be deceived by all the mortal claims but to look to the real, the spiritual, for right views of being & it's activities.

  43. What a fresh approach to seeing our true selfhood - Authenticity! I never considered that word or thought in defining myself or others, but will from here on out. Thanks for that beautiful insight.

  44. Thank you Susan! It's comforting. Prayer heals false view to the real one. I like the comment just before: "Prayer is the key to unlocking spiritual identity..." Thank you.

  45. I think of the Antique Roadshow as a similar example to your false front real estate. Hidden values to be revealed. The professional dealers authenticate family keep-sakes and often surprise the owners with their great value. Then, the speechless owners show no intention of selling the cherished item, but they vow to take a lot better care of it in the future!

Jesus authenticated our spiritual being. He identified, explained and even demonstrated the great value of spiritual man. He gave example after example of the hallmarks of that spiritual man. I understand Nicodemus who just wanted to understand, but was hung up on a false front history. Yikes, Jesus suggested that he must start over. What, no repair works to do? That was loving.

There is such a “fresh start” one feels as spiritual inspiration dawns. All things, old and new, look quite different - as though through “new” eyes. As you say, prayer reveals the authentic.

    Thanks always Suzanne.

  46. Thank you, Suzanne, for “Authentic you … the false front doesn’t represent what’s inside … be born again … see [yourself] as spiritual … the external appearance isn’t your real self … ‘the real, ideal man appears in proportion as the false and material disappears’ … live authentically … prayer reveals that authentic you.”

Wow!!! Today especially I’ll pray to accept and apply the spiritual fact of being for me and mine and all – only as the image and likeness of God / Spirit / all-Good / Love-itself!!! Authentic. Each of us is one of God’s “original” masterpieces. ;-) No one else to copy or pretend to be. No false identity imposed or super-imposed upon us. Just let God be God and “be born again” and again, as God’s creation continues to unfold. Our forever and unimpeachable relationship with God, validates our authenticity. No other “defining moment” but this very moment!

“Creation is ever appearing, and must ever continue to appear from the nature of its inexhaustible source” (S&H 507:28).

    Thanks again, Suzanne.

  47. Just perfect, Suzanne.
    Thank you!

  48. Thank you wonderful reminder to have authentic vieuw 24 hrs. A day! Ellen

  49. It's prayer that reveals the authentic me! I LOVE this, Suzanne, thank you ever so much!

  50. Excellent message!!!! I've occasionally told people, "I know who you are" and they have no idea what I mean by that. Of course, it's because I'm seeing the Christ in them and they think I'm referring to their "human personality". Today's lift was a great reminder to constantly see the Christ within ourselves, too. Thank you so much.

  51. Greetings S~~ This message is very timely. Today I have to meet with a salesperson for a second time
It's going to be great to realize his facade AND SEE the real and authentic man. Much
gratitude for this Lift. Loving regard, jim.

  52. Always an invitation to more profound thinking.
    Merci, Suzanne,

  53. This is great Suzanne!
No false facade needed on us, either!-- like a movie set with false fronts on the buildings to make it look like a "frontier town."
And Thanks for all the comments including #39
    Thanks also to Nate for
your Lift about the Everlasting Arms of Love -- That goes with this Lift message too! It's real!

  54. Wonderful lift. "Henceforth know we no man after the flesh" - not even after healthy flesh. We know only God as Father and God as Son, the Christ, the spiritual image and likeness of God. We perceive that man is not flesh, but consciousness, possessing only spiritual qualities. We never look at the body, the storefront, visible man, but look right through the eyes and see beyond mortal man to where the Christ sits enthroned. Thanks for this lift.

  55. One very important ability that C/S gives to the individual who is sincerely practicing it, is the ability to recognize the authenticy of the other guy, to forgive for any bad traits he seemingly portrays and to bring out his true self hood as God's image and likeness.

  56. See yourself as spiritual . . . . feels good! Thank you for a lovely Lift!

  57. Thank you, Suzanne!

  58. Nice Suzanne.

  59. Thank you Suzanne.

  60. A very helpful message and much needed today. Thank you.

  61. Suzanne,
Thank you for your message. It reminds me to look to the true me and forget the physical.

  62. Thank you Suzanne for your very inspiring DL today. It is just what I needed to hear!

  63. Thanks, Suzanne, for adding a freshness to my prayer for a sweet feral cat that I have associated with for several years and needs some prayerful help about a physical eye condition that doesn't seem right and of course is not right,. because as you point out, it is a false front claiming to be true about God's perfect spiritual idea. Animals are so receptive to the truth because of their total innocence to wrong thinking of any kind. As Mrs. Eddy states in Science and Health With Key To The Scriptures, page 514, "All of God's creatures, moving in the harmony of Science, are harmless, useful, indestructible."

  64. Authenticity - I love this healing word! Thank you!

  65. Thanks Suzanne. Living with our authentic core we see that authenticity in others.
And thanks to the DL team for putting these on and for everyone who shares.

  66. Thank you, Suzanne.

  67. Can't thank you enough for this incredibly timely lift. I found myself full of self-will, self-love and self-justification until I was so gently reminded that patience and love were what I needed to dwell on - not the material situation that was confronting me. Love really is the key to harmony in our lives. Love, love and more love!

  69. excellent .. thank you. :-)

  70. Such a wonderful Lift Suzanne, thank you so much! I just love this and love the inspired comments from all those posting.

  71. Every Daily Lift helps me grow a step further in my spiritual understanding, as yours did today...for which I am most grateful. Thank you.

  72. It is only when I feel/know that I am perfectly loved that I am really able to be the genuine me. To be completely guileless require trust and courage!
    Matthew 19:14
' But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.'
Thank you Suzanne and also # 53 Joy.

  73. I love the postings here, too. So many, so good. Nancy';s #45 was delightful -- what? no repair? Just fresh beginnings. And Scott's #54 not even knowing "healthy flesh" but the real man. We all can see the core perfection always present. Thank you all for sharing!

  74. Very helpful Suzanne. Now how about a lift on "authentic prayer"?

  75. I dreamed last night that the blueberries were ripe and waiting for me on Ragged Mountain, where I like to hike and bird-watch.
I was disappointed when I woke up and realized that it is the wrong season. Last season, according to my notes, I picked blueberries from July 22 through the first week of September. Wild blueberries are different from the hot house blueberries in that they are smaller, since they are totally dependent on the sun and rain for their goodness. Maine has a short growing season.
Thank you for the Nicodemus story. Jesus required him to wake up, as we all must do.

  76. Thank you, Suzanne for your excellent and "intriguing" Lift! The "authentic" message was so clearly explained and very helpful!

  77. AMEN, with heartfelt thanks!

  78. Thank you for the time you took to share your thoughts with us on counterfeit thinking...no matter how close to the originals counterfeit comes, it is still a counterfeit and cannot withstand the law of Truth, which destroys it.In"MiscellaneousWrittings"Mary Baker Eddy says on page 61,"All the knowledge and vain strivings of mortal mind, that lead to death,----even when aping the wisdom and magnitude of immortal Mind,-----will be swallowed up by the reality and omnipotence of Truth over error, and of Life over death. One must know the most important tging to do is THINKK RIGHTLY,!!John8:32Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.He did not say we we should talk about the truth, or even think about it, BUT THAT WE SHOULD KNOW IT.MrsEddy says in Misc.Writings p.298. The true consciousness is the true health. As we trust God more and strive to listen to spirituals ce,we experience the"peace of God,which pass etch all understanding((Phil4:7)Such discipline is joyous activity, for it always brings clarity of thought that is nottobeo deceived by counterfeits.

  79. That was awesome, Suzanne. Thank you!

  80. Loved this Lift thank you Suzanne

  81. Prayer keeps on giving! Thanks, Suzanne!
    Kaye from Houston

  82. This is the third or fourth time I have listened. So good. I've been thinking recently about what is "the authentic" me. Very helpful.

  83. I feel so very blessed to be a student of Christian Science which reveals our authentic self. Thanks, Suzanne and all Lifters for giving me more clarity on this essential topic.

In this week's lesson we see that Christ Jesus was sent to reveal the Science of Love, which governs this real man. I am so grateful.

  84. I love the imagery with the store fronts Suzanne to look more carefully, deeper, for the authentic. This also reminds me of TLC for customers, or generalized reference to "people pleasing" or slick sales - or the gorgeous images for Academy Awards night with Oscars - struggling with kale salads to get to a size ''0' - I still am amazed we have sizes in zero - Or taking a year-long Way of the Doll project and I remember a 4 ft porcelain faced doll with a black empty box in place of the heart, soul-less for healing struggles with another. This DLift spirals us higher to our spiritual authentic self, and as 19, 39, 67, and S&H 547... all God's creatures in harmony. Wonderful and powerful thoughts of our authentic self.
Sometimes a friend may tune out to this, not recognizing ongoing obsession with looking slim and overlooking qualities of character - guess on this I simply need to love more and let go of my own concerns in too much emphasis on outward appearances; to think rightly without reaction on another for deeper grace and trust reflecting image and likeness of God. Superb AUTHENTIC topic.

  85. Great to practice for all of us. Thanks Suzanne!

  86. Thank you so much Suzanne.

  87. Thanks so much for this amazing lift!

  88. Thank you, Suzanne!

  89. Wonderful, so perfect for something I had been working on, and so lovely the responses today, clear and freeing. Thank you.

  90. The ideas really lifted me up. Thank you!

  91. Thank you Suzanne. A really helpful reminder to hold to the Spiritual idea of man.

  92. What a lovely reminder, a missed this when it came out but saved it to be found today. God provides our authentic selves, right where we are and where we've always been, in the midst of Her love! Never late, always.
