1/22: Childlike qualities

1/22: Childlike qualities

  1. Thank you so much for this great Lift Frank. It's childlike qualities that allow us to grow spiritually; to demonstrate more of the healing power of truth and Love. Qualities such as trust, receptivity, love and purity of thought bring us closer to the absolute demonstration of the healing power of the Christ. These qualities, as they appear so naturally in children, need to be nourished and cherished for all time.

  2. Love these ideas Frank... seeing things simply!

  3. ARN ~ Salinae/UK As a former school-teacher and parent I noticed that "time" is quite a difficult con-
cept to teach youngsters... they live only in the NOW of being and are happy with that; we can all take
a lesson from this and realize how truly we are innately free from man-made concepts and limitations
of all "time" concepts. We really can be childlike ourselves!! In this attitude and realization we are
truly children of God and free from time-constraints! and able to follow Jesus' admonitions to be the
image and likeness of the Divine--GODlike!!

  4. Many thanks Frank for this inspiring reminder. Yes. 'We are all God's loved creation; pure, innocent, healthy, and continually new...Heavenly viewpoint in consciousness brings healing." "Innocent one, sinless and pure,/ Nothing can ever divide thee./ Governed by Love, you’re safe and secure;/ I am forever beside thee." (Christian Science Hymnal Supplement #444).

  5. You can't teach an old dog new tricks' the old saying goes, but we know that is not true because when someone adopts an old dog, the pet soon learns the ways of the new master.
Animals has so much love to give!
Jesus loved little children. As a little child, Grandma is ready to leave the old for the new and to learn computers, her thought is ready for the advanced idea. S&H 323:32
Are we ready to leave behind the limited material world as we know it and see creation from God's point of view, perfect, complete and Loved?

  7. JUST .BEAUTIFUL

  8. Thank you Frank for reminding me of one of the most important sayings of Jesus. He said plainly that the way to enter into the kingdom of heaven (in understanding) was to become as a little child, and once again Mrs Eddy explains to us the way to achieve this. Included in these ways are to accept "nothing unworthy of perpetuity"; "to form habits of obedience to the moral and spiritual law"; and "to grow in the understanding of man's higher nature"

"and a little child shall lead them"

What is good enough for our children is certainly good enough for me!

  9. Such an important reminder to be more humble and listen. Thank you, Frank.

  10. Frank, Thank you

  11. Excellent Frank, it sounds simple, but until we all see out like a child without prejudice, judgement, fear etc and fully experience the present moment and our profound connection with God will we see the magnitude of our true purpose. Thank you for my Daily Life today.

  12. Thank you Frank for these ideas. They are also part of our love for our neighbours and our community. Childlike qualities manifest purity, joy, activity. They actually are part of our true identity as is our manifestation of eternal life.

  13. Danke schoen Frank... Good to hear your voice again, with it's strong, clear message. Yes, 'child-like TRUST' is key... and like animals, children (unaided by education) understand the truth and power of LOVE in its entirety. Thanks again.

  14. Thank you Frank, for this wonderful Lift. It all goes a bit haywire, doesn't it, when we start believing that "the material knowledge, intellectualism and opinions" are who we are. "Willingness to receive the advanced idea" of ourselves and others is really all it takes, but it does require allowing our thoughts to be changed for the reality of who we already are as God's beloved children. Right here and now we are always new and willing to be the pure and perfect expression of our loving Father-Mother, Good.
Thanks to the production team; the Board of Lectureship and lecturers; and our ever willing and always new Lift family.

  15. What a refreshing reminder at the start of a new day . Yes indeed ,purity and innocence are inate spiritual attributes which has been never lost ,can never be lost. Thank you Frank for pointing me to my true self ; the pure innocent , unblemised child of my Father / Mother God .

  16. Danka, Frank. What a perfect thought so well said and succinct! It helped me much.

  17. Thank you.

  18. Thank you for the beautifull message, and the reminder who we really are And see others. As such.

  19. Thank you Frank for this lovely DL and thanks to all the comments. I liked very much the comment mentioned in #3 regarding the concept of time. It´s true. Children do not have the concept of time because time is a human concept and they live in the eternal Now. I myself am working on this concept lately since during the last years I seemed to be always pressed by the lack of time and this is a great error. Today is a brand new day for us to celebrate and praise God for his goodness. No wonder it is a called a Present. Let´s go out and play without worries, like little children enjoying our childlike qualities.

  21. Thank you for the reminder that we are the children of an ALL LOVING FATHER MOTHER GOD, and we can express those qualities at all times.

  22. thank you frank

  23. Thank you for reminding us. Powerful tool for today

  24. Thank you for this important Lift which has so much in it, and for challenging us anew to let go of the 'old man' or 'old thinking' as represented by opinions, intellectualism and material, limited viewpoints. It never was our thinking. It would call itself 'I' 'us' 'you' or 'them' but it is nothing. God, Love, is the only Mind we need and He loves us all as His perfect ideas, His children.

  25. Thanks so much for the reminder to be more childlike. And to #3 for the thought that children have no concept of time - they live in the now - and so should we.

I love what Mary Baker Eddy says on page 307 of Miscellaneous Writings: " God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies. Never ask for tomorrow: it is enough that divine Love is an ever-present help; and if you wait, never doubting, you will have all you need every moment."

And this from The Message by Eugene Peterson: "Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes." (Matthew 6:34)

"To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings" (Science and Health p.vii)

Today is certainly filled with blessings for all of us - enjoy it to the fullest everyone!

  26. Thank you!

  27. Thank you, Frank from Hamburg! To paraphrase......as it says in our C.S. Bible Lesson this week......when we imbibe the Truth of who we really are in Divine Science, this Truth destroys whatever material sense has claimed we are in the material dream of life in matter. Also loved #24, Eleanor's comment! Thanks! Ohhhhhh to just become as a little child today and.....to accept the Love and Joy my Heavenly Father has always given me!!!

  28. Thank You for this lift

  29. What a timely and lovely lift. Thanks Frank. AND thanks for all the helpful comments. It's so wonderful to share these "lifting" ideas worldwide with one another. Thanks.

  30. Ja wohl! Danke Schoen.

We should never depart from "the simplicity that is in Christ."

  31. Das ist sehr gute - danke.

  32. Thank you, Frank, for reminding me of something we all can do with our moments.

  33. Thank you frank. I love your message. Children identify themselves with their heavenly identity.

  34. Thank you for this lift.

  35. Wonderful ! Thank u . :-)

  36. Math: 21-16 States, "Out of the mouths of babes." So true, Frank. Many times little children, from their pure innocence, comes tremendous wisdom. Like a 5 year old said to his elders quite a long time ago, when the USA had the draft, and heard the adults talking about the Korean War. He said, "I know how to prevent a war from even happening, just don't go. There is a bully in school that wants me to start a fight with another kid. I just tell him no!" So simple, these answers from the little ones. We should listen to them more.

  37. Thank you, Frank and fellow lifters, for coming together to lift up thought in this way.

  38. Thanks, Frank and thanks, #5 Elena for the humorous & clever application S&H 323:32, "As a little child, Grandma is ready to leave the old for the new and to learn computers, her thought is ready for the advanced idea." Good for you!

  39. Thank you, Frank, for “Childlike qualities … free from injustice and receptive to what’s good and right …” Jesus showed and explained to us how to BE God’s children. Jesus proved (so that we can prove) sin, sickness, disease, and death as unjust. Jesus proved (so that we can prove) wholesomeness, happiness, and health, as good and right and even attainable here and now - as in heaven, so on earth (Luke 11:2). I pray to understand more deeply and follow more consistently Jesus’ example - The Way. What if it's as simple as being childlike in our relationship with God? Think of it! Jesus was the consummate child, trusting the Father with everything! The childlike qualities of receptivity and freedom are as “prayer and fasting” (Matt 17:21). Prayer is as being “receptive” to the Truth of being, which is always communicated to us. Fasting is as being “free” from material beliefs, as “… not conformed to this world: but … transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (Rom 12:2). Jesus proved God as not only his, but also our Father, who wants only what’s good and right for each one of us. All we have to do is ask, pay attention, and follow through, guided and protected as we go to the Father in unceasing prayer and with unwavering obedience, just like Jesus - childlike! We can lay down our earthly burdens and take up the angel messages that keep us free and receptive. This is Christian Science!

  40. Thank you Frank. We all need to have the same trust in Our Father as children have in their parents. They don't worry if they will get fed or taken care of and neither should we. Our childlike trust in God meets all our needs with his bountiful blessings.
Thanks to TMC for meeting our needs with these Daily Lifts.

  41. Willingness to leave the old for the new...yielding to Divine Love...childlike trust in God...I'm ready! Thank you!

  42. Thank you.

  43. Dear Frank

Thank you for you very informing Daily Lift.

The writer has found that when one has a child like thought and not a childish thought ones daily unfolding is good.
May one also humbly add, when Peter takes control chaos is all about, but when Peter steps back, His wonderful creation is revealed.

May one ask the contributors to go to Genesis Chapter 1 and see how many times, Let, let is mentioned, it is very revealing.

    All have a wonderful adventure

    Love in Christ

    Peter.

  44. Thank you Frank. This is a wonderful Lift when we need to wade through turmoil and hurt thrown at us. In such agony I sometimes lack the words and peace to speak or think in prayer. Then I remind myself, how would a child say it? In simple thoughts, honest and sincere knowing and trusting that God will help. He always comes through. In class our teacher told us not to worry about the words, speak them from the heart.

  45. Thanks, Frank...so very helpful and right on point for what I need to see today!

  46. Adding my thanks for your Daily Lift, Frank, and for the inspired conversation from around the world that follows it. The innocence and receptivity of the childlike heart touches us all and never leaves us. There, we hold God's hand and are guided to all good.

  47. I notice we have to see the childlike qualities in our neighbor too. Thank you for the comments, so helpful to me. God Bless.

  48. Your child like sharing is "perfect." Thank you.

  49. Thanks Frank for this reminder about leaving the old for the new. This is very relevant to me and to the world at the moment, thinking in particular about countries like Syria whose populations are in the midst of great struggles for a new, freer way of living. I pray that they find peace and protection in the "Life that maketh all things new" (Hymn 218).

  50. A gentle reminder to love God more and in this knowing to love more our self, the individualized expression of the one man of God's creating. How can we not then, hold the correct view of others as they too are the individualized expression of the one man of God's creating.
Thank you for this Lift today!!

  51. Thank you Frank...and ALL
    the perfect comments!

  52. Thank you

  53. What a magnificent message/Lift ------- thank-you, Frank! It is so important to continually remind/refresh myself/ourselves of the ideas in this Lift and act upon them daily/moment-by-moment. Loved all the accompanying comments ------- very supportive, uplifting and helpful. Thanks to the DL team.

  54. Thank you for your message of pure selfless childlikeness. It just occured to me that leaving the old for the new is like leaving the old for the young,- the real youthfulness we all have a right to enjoy.

  55. I am so grateful for this lift. Thanks to all.

  56. These are good ideas to shake us up and grow! Thank you.

  57. That was so wonderful! What a great thought to hold on to for the day!!!!):):):)
    Thank you so much!

  58. In Mark, Jesus' struggle at Gethsemane is depicted this way, saying to Peter, James, and John, "My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death; tarry ye here, and watch. And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto Thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what Thou wilt."
Our meek Master yielded to his childlike trust in his Father.

Mrs Eddy describes it in these words from S&H, “When the human element in him struggled with the divine, our great Teacher said: “Not my will, but Thine, be done!” — that is, Let not the flesh, but the Spirit, be represented in me. This is the new understanding of spiritual Love.”

This 'new understanding' can certainly be a re discovery of our childlike trust in God.

    Thanks Frank..
Thx for the great comments from the DL community!

  59. Thank you Frank.

  60. Thank you for this wonderful lift. It lifted me to a fresher view, while showing what needs to drop away

  61. I listened to this yesterday, well i thought I did.
A friend sent it to me again just now. I listened again but really listened this time.

    I listened over and over.

I have even copied it out on paper as i listened. stopping the audio and starting again.

I read the comments at the end too. Over 6,000 people said they liked it. That reminds we that people all over the world are doing the work and letting go of old ideas and embracing the 'precious present'.

If we are God's loved creation then how can we be ever alone. it's ongoing....perpetual........

We are not loved then left abandoned to fend for ourselves. Loving is going on right now in this moment.

I will play it a few more times yet and read it over and over as i do.

    Thank you dear friend.

  63. Thank you Frank for this inspiring "Daily Lift" - particularly helpful and relevant now and everyday!!
I have always loved these thoughts which you have so beautifully expressed and have strived to see myself and others in the way that you have described as a teacher, mother, grandmother, churchmember, Sunday School teacher, neighbor, etc. and continue to understand and apply these important ideas in my daily life.

Mary Baker Eddy's poem, "Mother's Evening Prayer" , which is found in the Christian Science Hymnal, Hymns #207 through #212 contain these words, which are so meaningful and healing: "O gentle presence, peace and joy and power; O Life divine, that owns each waiting hour, Thou Love that guards the nestling's faltering flight! Keep Thou my child on upward wing tonight."

I sang this hymn to my young grandson, this past summer when he was stung by wasps. He settled down very quickly while I sang this to him. We had just started to eat outside and when he sat down on his chair, he apparently disturbed a wasps nest. We brought him inside and I was grateful for these thoughts to help him. I also was praying to know that one idea of God could not harm another idea of God. We were able to have our dinner right after that and my grandson was his cheerful self again. I am so grateful for his receptivity to the Truth and the understanding that we all have this childlike receptivity. We just have to claim it. This hymn has always been so comforting to me and my family.

  64. t's such a relief to become a child again! From your beautiful, inspiringl lift I was able to go there, and hope to stay there, with Mrs. Eddy's powerful words Willing as children are to leave the old for the new. They don't hang on to crawling when they discover the new, that they can walk. Its natural and effortless. Thank you so so much.
