Finding a secure place in God's economy

Watch Martha Moffett's lecture “Finding a secure place in God's economy” filmed in Seattle, Washington, USA February 26, 2011.

  1. What a surprise to turn on my computer to check the economy of this day and find an inspiring Christian Science lecture about God’s economy. I am grateful to have so many good things on the internet now that I am mostly home bound.
In this week’s lesson from Psalms118:17 “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord”. I’m am grateful every minute of every day for the blessings I have had and the protection I have had.
Thank you for sending out this lecture by Martha Moffett.

  2. Dear Martha,

I heard you lecture here in Utah, a few years back at the downtown library, and loved it.

Tonight when I listened to this one, your example with the senior attorney had immediate relevance to my work experience, and I thank you for telling us how to proceed with God’s direction, and support for our spiritual courage.

Also, when you shared the definition of the word “prophet” from Science and Health, because I was listening, and not watching the video, I thought you were reading the definition of the word “profit”. This made me laugh, because I didn’t remember Mrs. Eddy defining “profit”.

But I saw the spiritual significance tonight — that the only thing that can profit us is to be “A spiritual seer; [where we see/discern the] disappearance of material sense before the conscious facts of spiritual Truth.” 593:4

You’re a spiritually, gutsy gal, and a fine example of what we can all be.

Thanks for your inspired insights — oh, and I loved how you referred us back to the original Greek meaning of everyday words like gospel, etc. Very informative and thought-clearing.

  3. I am truly grateful for this lecture. It is a few truths, tenderly told. Simple and direct, but squarely Bible based laws, eternally available to all, and gracefully presented. What a joyful message.

  4. Thanks for art thou that repliest to Spirit.

  5. Thank dear Martha for your thoughtful and insightful lecture. Thank you.

  6. Thank you Martha. A beautiful lecture so very helpful.

  7. Dear Martha–Thank you so much for your lecture on God’s divine economy–always constant–always supplying good to meet our every need. I came into the office today wondering if there would be enough to pay the pile of bills on my desk–then decided to listen to a daily lift, which was great, and then saw online lectures and decided to listen to yours–just what I needed to remind of the good always at hand–and of course there was enough & even enough to help another in need–Thank you; I am greatful.

  8. Dear Martha:
Thank you for this wonderful lecture. Just what I need to hear regarding my work and some issues arising. I have to know the Truth of the Christ is with us in making decisions.
I am so grateful for CS and lecturers like you, etc.

  9. Thank you so much Martha!

  10. What a wonderful talk! It has given me such a lot of food for thought. The last experience Martha shared is particularly helpful because it relates to a similar situation faced by a family member. How good to know that no person or organisation can come between God and his plan for his precious child.

  11. I loved how you expressed the importance of standing up to error. One with the senior lawyer and also to the idea that the only apartment you could have was dark and too expensive. It made me realize that we can stand up to any false sense that says we have to just cope as best we can and that’s all we’ll get from God. It’s right to expect to be lovingly and rightly supplied and to listen to His direction in all things. You’ve given me some clarity and I so appreciate it!

Fabulous lecture, thank you so much!!

  12. PRINCIPLE expressed perfectly.THANKS!!!

  13. Great lecture – I love Martha’s talks because she always takes it out of the human and starts with God. We need more of that. Thank you

  14. I can't find the last citation from frame [52:00] about the Mary Baker Eddy saying that nobody can "stand between us and the good God has for us".
Can anyone help me on this?
    Anyway good lecture!

  15. Marcel - Thank you for your question about my statement in this lecture that nobody can stand between you and the good God has for you. Paul says in Romans: "For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38,39 This combined with Mary Baker Eddy's statement:"Not personal intercommunion but divine law is the communicator of truth, health, and harmony to earth and humanity [Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy 72:30-32]," make clear that neither a person nor a circumstance of any kind could ever deprive you of the inexhaustible good God has for each one of His children.

  16. Thank you Martha, your lectures inspire me deeply.

  17. Martha,

You have given me much to think about, ideas and thoughts that needed to be
reinforced at this time. Thank you ever so much. Your grace and conviction
    are highly appreciated.

  18. Thank you Martha, This is the second time I listened to this lecture. I was amazed how much of the meaning I missed the first time. After some mental work, and much thought I'll return and listen to it again.

  19. A HEALING MESSAGE!!!!!!THANK YOU!!!!AGAIN!!

  20. Oh my gosh this lecture was spot on for my needs at this point in my life.Thank you. What a blessing.

  21. I fell asleep last night (after much hard work) with Martha's lecture on.. and woke up full of the wonderful ideas that I'd heard and I decided to embrace these Truths.....I had had a rough past two days in terms of supply.. Today, a family member gave me a lot of coins he'd saved & the person who'd turned me down for a special need, changed her attitude, and in fact told me that she'd paid part of my gas bill, without telling me. The entire picture turned around... I'm so grateful..... God also has been giving me good ideas about not deciding what to do with my day, but asking God, what He wants me to do with the day... It's an exciting way to live!

  22. Thank you, very well presented; "A change in human belief changes all the physical symptoms, and determines a case for better or for worse. When one's false belief is corrected, Truth sends a report of health over the body." M.B. Eddy. The individual's flourishing economy is an embodiment of well purposed spiritual understanding moving thought beyond belief, past popular conviction, into the divine economy of demonstration.
