Thanks Brian, for this strong key-note - a breakethrough the limitations of time-thinking, fear and doubt - opening for the NOW of Gods loving care for evrybody and every situation at evry "time" - just now. You met my need! Thank You.

Superb jazz, Nate, just the best!
Ah, how could I be so ungrateful! If only I could trust more and doubt less...! How many wasteful moments spent in worrying about the future and fretting about the past! Let's live this very moment to the fullest. "We own no past, no future, we possess only now" MY 12:20.
God loves us right now, God is "our very PRESENT help in trouble", so "be still and know" that God IS! http://kingjbible.com/psalms/46.htm
Our Father-Mother Love has chosen each one of us to be His own image and likeness, "For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring" http://bible.cc/acts/17-28.htm

Hi Brian,
Your message encourages a present attitude of gratitude which expresses God now (our forever work and reason for being) and leaves us not being indebted to God, but active with Him now.
Thank you for today's lift, today!

Thank you Brian,
The thought that - whatever can be done now, and is not, increases our indebtedness to God – alerts me, not to just be overwhelmed, but to be alert to my own duty and get busy about my Father’s business.
I appreciate #7 Peter’s comment that rather than remaining indebted, we can work off our debt by being Active with God. Now that’s my idea of a great job with a great employer and super fringe benefits .

Brian: just reading a Sentinel article on this topic also, and reminded me to be grateful "for the good already received" and rejoice over it in the "nowness and allness" of God. Today is indeed "big with blessings" as stated in Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. This "lift" gave a bright start to my day....Thanks

Thank you, Brian. Today is God's gift to us, and that is why it is called 'the present.' How we use it is our gift to Him.
And thank you, Nate, and the whole Daily Lift Team that prepares these gifts for us five day's of God's week with these perfect Lifts that we eagerly open and immediately know how to use it and with whom we want to share it. Such an abundance of good. Hymn 342 in the Christian Science Hymnal helps us raise our hearts and voices in gratitude for each 'gift.'

Like Mary Baker Eddy, I have embarked on an out-of-the-box, world project to benefit others. After several years of considerable efforts, the results have been variable, as was often the case with Mrs. Eddy. Faced with self doubt and fears for the future, I constantly turn to Mrs. Eddy's brilliant writing for comfort, support and inspiration. The Lift today came along just when I needed to hear MBE's thoughts reflected through Brian's helpful ideas. As with the daily lesson, spiritual needs are more often than not anticipated in these Lifts.
Also the music at the beginning and the end add a delightful sense of uplift. I personally love scat music but found the vocals at the end of the Lift today a bit distracting. Jazz works perfectly well in this context, as long as the focus, decorum and seriousness of the text is not lost in the shuffle.

Thanks for the lift Brian! I am learning to better recognize the "devils questions" as mere speculation of the absence of God. This ingratitude in advance, once understood as animal magnetism is much easier to weed out of thought. Interestingly, the more I practice this, the less such suggestions come to me. Christian Science, when practiced frees us to express God in everything we do. Thanks again for reminding me of this today.

Por recordarnos que no hay pasado y que el futuro es hoy, ya que en la eternidad no existe el tiempo ni la distancia que todo es un HOY porque simplemente la Verdad, Vida y Amor son ese HOY, Dios y su infinitud.

Thank you Brian I SO needed this today!
We have been praying for my oldest son. Where to go to College?
What do you want your job to be? How will you make money?
What classes should you be taking now? Will you be happy?
Should you have studied science more or worked harder in math?
(or as his father puts it as lovingly as possible
“What are you going to do with your life?”)!!!!!!! :)
I always find my answer in Truth…(The What and the How?)
Hymn #154 “I find my life (his life)….as God’s own child”
Confident God is with him every step of the way (the Where)
Hymn #304“Sheperd show me how to go”
I alos love what is read on Sundays (on the inside of the Quartly)
I often think of this past, present, and future….
Right NOW!
Now is all there is, all good going on, God (Love) is here with me.I AM…(is with me)
I am safe, cared for, loved, complete, whole, happy, joyful, spiritual, perfect, lacking nothing. I am certain God IS HERE right now and WILL BE with me in my next step.
This is true for all of us.
Certainty is a powerful thing…confidence in God’s dear love for us!
I also love it that the Church service, in closing the service
I John 3:2 “Beloved, now are we the sons of God”
What a healing service and Daily Lift in deed!
Thank you Brian for this lovely thought of NOW!
and all the Comments given today..and a thank you for those that will be left later.

This was a great morning lift! I was able to play it on my speaker phone for my boyfriend who is driving to work. It was the perfect answer to his fears about the possiblity of losing his job in the education profession. This countered all his comments about what if and if only which have been part of his daily thought and conversation. Thank you so much for these great quotes from Mrs. Eddy which so clearly remind us to live and think in the present. This replaces fear with love. Great way to start out our Monday morning!

What if? brought me into Christian Science. It dominated my "every day". Having been raised in a religion that ruled by fear instead of love, and an "uncertain and unstable" home, I was the perfect candidate for fear. Christian Science taught me the following....Mortal mind, aggressive mental suggestion, the snake talker, the lier, are all tricks of the devil...These enemy thoughts try to separate us from God. I learned to talk back as you suggested, Brian. I learned that I was " not going to allow fear to keep me from my good"...I've learned that fear doesn't always come as "the roaring lion, but more often it is "delicately suggestive"so we often accept these thoughts as our own.I've learned that "what if" is an invitation to speculate about circumstances that don't exist at the moment, but could....and I've learned God's blessings are sure and He adds no sorrow(anxiety, fear, uncertainty) to them. ONLY GOOD IS REAL. Thank you Brian and the DL team for this gift of good that comes to us each day ( I use weekends to explore the lift library)

" . . . I am able to impart truth, health, and happiness, and this is my rock of salvation and my reason for existing." (The First Church of Christ, Scientist and Miscellany p. 165). It's good to know that our response in any circumstance can be the right one.

What a powerful and timely message. A non-Scientist friend of mine whose husband, a life-long Christian Scientist, rececently passed on suddely, is consumed with grief and fear. As I listened to her anguished cries last night of "what it's," including the most fire what if's imaginable, I reminded her of Jesus's teaching of taking "no thought" for the morrow. I remindered her of the "lillies of the field, who "toil not, neither do they spin."
She appeared to be temporarily consoled. I recounted how on every day since his passing, she had all her needs met. What did she want for (absent her husband's material presence)? She could think of nothing.
I believe that the essence of her grief is tied up in fear for her own future. Though she will want for nothing material, she feels the emptiness of the human passing of a person that she had grown to rely on for her every need.
How I wish she would embrance the hope of eternal Love as taught by Christian Science and know that God always was and always will be the One who meets all needs and that her dear husband was always expressing God's Good in all he did for her.
God's Good and Substance is not resident in a human form but lives eternal.

Thank you, #74 Elaine, for sharing that about your dear friend who's CS husband passed on suddenly. Again, I am reminded of what Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health - asking us if our existence without personal friends would be a blank to us....... Sometimes we are so immersed in this mortal, material existence that we forget that our real purpose here is to learn about God, about Love's constant care and to prove this reality in our "Earth School".!!!!! Sending Love and Prayers to your friend and knowing that she will find comfort.

I was thinking about this very subject this morning. Thinking about how the word life has a big if right in the middle of it. I began to ponder the word as an acronymn. The letters could mean Live In Fear Everyday or they could mean Live In Faith Everyday. Fear is a belief in the absence of God. Faith acknowledges and thereby affirms God in consciousness and in life. One of Mrs. Eddy's synonyms for God is Life. If God is Life and created man, how can man be separate from God? There is certainly no if in the word God.
There is an old saying I've seen in various forms, but to paraphrase, Fear knocked at the door and Faith answered. No one was there.
Lawrence Doyle on one of the C/S Radio editions also talks about time.
As an astro physicist he stated: we are moving out of was, transiting into not yet. We live in the now. Every moment is eternal and indivisible.
"Lift" could mean, and I think it does: Live In Faith Today. Thank you for your lift, Brian. It helped.

The thought just occurred to me about opposites:
E.g. Life-death; Truth-error; Love-hate; Spirit-matter, etc.
So what is the opposite of Now?
It must be “Never” since tomorrow never comes and yesterday never comes back.
So we can put everything into two categories:
NOW: Life, Truth, Love, Spirit, etc.
NEVER: death, error, hate, matter, etc.
Do we wish to exist in the Now or Never Neverland?

Thank you, Brian, for what is a reliable Lift, not just the title. I need it for I spend too much thought dwelling on past and future, and don't rejoice enough in the now. The past is memory, the future speculation of mortal sense. Now is the only reality that is. Christian Science Hymn #350 grounds me in the now. Though it seems to be dealing with what is yet to be, until it settles on all is well now, the past worries are wrapped up in expectations of the tomorrows, so this hymn handles each direction for me. I can't count all the times I've turned to the truth in this hymn. I especially appreciate your reminder to stay in the Holy now with our Father.

We avoid any form of justice that requires a penalty since Jesus overturned Mosaic law which said an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But we have the Gospel; whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

My above comment, almost ready before I had to rush to town to beat severe storms heading in, somehow got partially deleted when I rebooted my PC & tried to pull it up later to post. One Bible verse I want to mention is Eccl. 3:15. “That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.” So the past IS, not was. The future, not will be but already HAS BEEN completely in God's hands. For those like me who keep going back over mistakes we've made or unkind deeds done to us, this verse puts the past into God's now, and we can treat the false beliefs, to heal and clean our memory of error. It describes the future, which is God prepared with good, as already “hath been” (established). It isn't looming frightfully ahead.
83 Roger, Thank you for the acronyms and the part about faith answering the door. I'll build on that at the door to my thoughts. #86 Michael, That's a good question to ask, again & again.

BRAVO !!! BRAVO!!1 BRAVO!!!
Each time a negative thought pops up we can easily recognize that it doesn't come from our all knowing, all loving, all acting Father=Mother, - and treat it as a patient needing immediate correcting (nothing but the facts), healing, and prompt dismissal.
Thank you, Dear Sir!!
Passing these messages on to friends, family, & others is a great way to spread the Christ=message for the multitudes of seekers, and so many who know nothing about Christian Science.

Thank you, Brian, for that healing message! I am reminded of the first recognition that my "what if and if only thinking" needed to be healed; it came when I first saw Hymn 391:
"Why search the future and the past?
Why do ye look with tearful eyes
And seek far off for paradise?
Before your feet Life's pearl is cast."
Living in the "eternal now" and praising God for his goodness opened my thought to the multitude of blessings God had already provided. Life is Good! Thanks for the reminder of that healing!

Thanks Brian for emphasizing the NOW! There is no fear NOW! We are in God's presence NOW! And this is applicable to all of us in the whole planet.

I love this statement: Yesterday is past. Tomorrow is unknown. That's why they call today the PRESENT. It's our gift !!

Thank you, Brian, and the multitude of wonderful thoughts from Lifters world-wide. Living in the reliable now and thanking God often for what one has already been given, is a lesson I learned later in life. When Life is good, we can forget to express appreciation for the many blessings received along the way and simply take them for granted. It seems often skipping from either dwelling on the the past or to wishing for the future hopes and dreams skips over what is really important, the NOW. Also, it is good to remember not to worry about tomorrow, for God is already there!

104 I also love this....what a gift of now
My husband's friend came up with that lovely thought and uplifting quote
He included it in one of his many wonderful speeches
Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored each step of the way.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift.
That's why we call it "the present."

My husband will be with him tomorrow for lunch
I will tell them to look up the Daily Lift..
They will just LOVE it! :)

How did you know I was in" IF ONLY land?" and was struggling to get out, when I thought of listening to the Daily Lift. Thank You so much Brian. The One Mind communicates to us exactly what we need. It broke the mesmerism. I'm so relieved to be in the NOW and enjoy my wonderful Blessings this very moment! One of them being the Daily lift.

- 4/4/2011Thanks Brian, for this strong key-note - a breakethrough the limitations of time-thinking, fear and doubt - opening for the NOW of Gods loving care for evrybody and every situation at evry "time" - just now. You met my need! Thank You.

- 4/4/2011Hi Brian,
Your message encourages a present attitude of gratitude which expresses God now (our forever work and reason for being) and leaves us not being indebted to God, but active with Him now.

- 4/4/2011Thank you Brian,
The thought that - whatever can be done now, and is not, increases our indebtedness to God – alerts me, not to just be overwhelmed, but to be alert to my own duty and get busy about my Father’s business.
I appreciate #7 Peter’s comment that rather than remaining indebted, we can work off our debt by being Active with God. Now that’s my idea of a great job with a great employer and super fringe benefits .

- 4/4/2011Brian: just reading a Sentinel article on this topic also, and reminded me to be grateful "for the good already received" and rejoice over it in the "nowness and allness" of God. Today is indeed "big with blessings" as stated in Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. This "lift" gave a bright start to my day....Thanks

- 4/4/2011Thank you, Brian.

- 4/4/2011Like Mary Baker Eddy, I have embarked on an out-of-the-box, world project to benefit others.

- 4/4/2011Thanks for the lift Brian!

- 4/4/2011Thank you, Brian! It just struck me that the Truth can only be in the Present, because the Truth IS the Present. NOW is the moment of Truth! Truth doesn't exist in the mortal or carnal so-called mind. In fact that so-called mind consists only of past and present - it has no concept of the Truth! WOW! Love and Now moments to All!

Por recordarnos que no hay pasado y que el futuro es hoy, ya que en la eternidad no existe el tiempo ni la distancia que todo es un HOY porque simplemente la Verdad, Vida y Amor son ese HOY, Dios y su infinitud.

- 4/4/2011This was a great morning lift!

- 4/4/2011What if? brought me into Christian Science.

- 4/4/2011Thanks Brian. Your lift made me think of Mrs. Eddy's statement:
" . . . I am able to impart truth, health, and happiness, and this is my rock of salvation and my reason for existing." (The First Church of Christ, Scientist and Miscellany p. 165). It's good to know that our response in any circumstance can be the right one.

- 4/4/2011Thank you! I have always loved the NOW-ness of God: the now of Love, the now of Truth, the now of divine Science, the now of Divine order, the now of Principle, the now of all good - it permeates all and comforts us. The now-ness of God is always the answer - because it never changes. What a great daily lift to share with the world!! : )

- 4/4/2011What a powerful and timely message.

- 4/4/2011Thank you, #74 Elaine, for sharing that about your dear friend who's CS husband passed on suddenly.
Just the thoughts I was working with while helping my daughter. Thank you Brian!

- 4/4/2011I was thinking about this very subject this morning.
It helped.

- 4/4/2011The thought just occurred to me about opposites:
J.S. in Ky.
- 4/4/2011Thank you, Brian, for what is a reliable Lift, not just the title.

- 4/4/2011We avoid any form of justice that requires a penalty since Jesus overturned Mosaic law which said an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But we have the Gospel; whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
J.S. in Ky.
- 4/4/2011My above comment, almost ready before I had to rush to town to beat severe storms heading in, somehow got partially deleted when I rebooted my PC & tried to pull it up later to post.

- 4/4/2011BRAVO !!!

- 4/4/2011This DL certainly prompted a lot of worthwhile follow-on comments. Thanks to Brian for "getting the ball rolling," to Nate and the DL team for keeping the fountain of inspiration flowing our way five days a week, and to all the commenters who have added so much to this excellent original concept.

- 4/4/2011Thank you, Brian, for that healing message!
Thank you Brian for your very comforting Daily Lift!

- 4/5/2011I love this statement: Yesterday is past. Tomorrow is unknown. That's why they call today the PRESENT. It's our gift !!
My teacher always said to live "in the reliable now". Love it.

- 4/5/2011Thank you, Brian, and the multitude of wonderful thoughts from Lifters world-wide.

- 4/5/2011104 I also love this....what a gift of now
My husband's friend came up with that lovely thought and uplifting quote
He included it in one of his many wonderful speeches
Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored each step of the way.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift.
That's why we call it "the present."

My husband will be with him tomorrow for lunch
I will tell them to look up the Daily Lift..
They will just LOVE it! :)

- 4/6/2011How did you know I was in" IF ONLY land?" and was struggling to get out, when I thought of listening to the Daily Lift. Thank You so much Brian. The One Mind communicates to us exactly what we need. It broke the mesmerism. I'm so relieved to be in the NOW and enjoy my wonderful Blessings this very moment! One of them being the Daily lift.
