Yesterday, while thinking about people's need for healing, I looked up, in Mrs Eddy's writings..''my reason for existing'' and found it on page 265 of Miscellany....the scientific response to What am I ? ''..I am able to impart truth, health, and happiness, and this is the rock of salvation and my reason for existing.''
A strong message to us all.! Thank you for the wonderful Daily Lifts

Thank you Mr McElroy, and thank you to all the Lecturers for these Daily Lifts. I really 'entered in' to what you say today. It is as though we are the human manifestation of God - of His qualities others may see at work in us - just as with the Master, when he walked his earthly course. And we are also so very individual - like the various colours of the rainbow - each hue beautifying the others as we each demonstrate in differing ways our understanding of God in every changing moment - the Glory of God: expressed!

Thank you Tom. Humility is synonymous, if we give God's glory in everything we do. when i put God in my heart then his glory filled me.what a wonderful daily lift.

Thank you, Tom, that statement clearly says that we are so important for God to have created us in His/Her image. So important that MBE decided to remind us every Sunday in church, “what manner of love has the Father bestowed upon us TO BE CALLED THE CHILDREN OF GOD”! Isn’t it a waking up statement? To be created in God’s image, for God’s glory, to glorify God!!

Wow! What a joyous reminder of who I am and my purpose for getting up and going about "God's business" each moment of my day. Thanks Tom for this "wake-up" call that tells me how precious I am and we all are because, we certainly are responsible for expressing and reflecting God wherever we go and whoever we come in contact with today and every day!

And like the rays of the sun, we can't be separated from God or each other. I like to think of the sun light as Truth and the warmth as Love.
Thank you, Tom, I love the picture of you with your warm and sunny smile - like the daily lift that told us to smile. :-)

Thanks Tom for this beautiful reminder. My daughter and I listened to the Daily Lift this morning as we did our prayerful work for my husband who is travelling for work today. I love the concept of doing all for the glory of God, because it puts better into focus how to joyfully participate in our day. This especially includes the tasks which we are anxious or concerned about. God has a purpose for us all today and I know we are all in our right place, expressing God.
Carolyn

Thanks, Tom
"This is the day the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it."Today I am anticipating God's glory to be evidenced in me and everyone with whom I come in contact. In fact this is going on now and being manifest around the world in soft yet powerful ways. It includes leaders of the world, business leaders, leaders of charitable organizations, leaders of churches and families, and so forth. Today I expect to see evidence of Almighty God springing forth !
As the hymn says "A glorious day is dawning."

..Thankyou Tom for a great start to the week.
I had been pondering this morning, the demands of running my business and feeling it was all getting too much....customers, suppliers, delegating, finances, office work, etc, etc. ......And then i woke up to the words ' This is Gods business, not yours, this business is the result of God's glory' .....A huge weight was lifted.
Hearing your message this morning most certainly reaffirmed it!

I love this "grounding" reminder that no matter what I am doing throughout my day, and no matter how far from God I may feel in the busy-ness of my tasks, I am still the expression of God. I can return to the idea that "I am glorifying God in this very moment", and feel connected to God, just like a ray is to the sun. Thank you, Tom!

Thank you Tom for this beautiful reminder to me today to let my life SHINE. I think of the multitudes of people throughout the world, reading this message this morning then going forth to SHINE, then all those people they meet doing the same as they go about their daily tasks, just like the circles on a pond when we throw in a stone.
As a child in sunday school I learned this hymn..
" Jesus wants me for a sunbeam, to shine for him each day,
In every way try to please him, at home,at school at play."
These enlightening morning-lifts remind us all to 'keep shining'.

That was excellent, Tom.
What is the meaning of a principle if there is no manifestation of that principle? What is Love if there is no expression of evidence of that love? MBE says in S&H, "Separated from man, who expresses Soul, Spirit would be a nonentity;..." God and man, I think, are not so much different things, but different aspects of the same thing - divine Being.
I'll get busy awaking to my divine purpose this morning!

Statements about the "glory of God" have been in the weekly lessons a lot lately and I remember last week questioning what that really meant to me. Wow, in this week's lesson it really pops out at you and I'm so glad you gave such an inspired concept of how we live to the "glory of God." It will be put to good use. Thanks so much, Tom.

I have been sitting here contemplating your "Daily Lift" for about a half an hour. It has brought back so many memories, such as teaching the Sunday School children, and my own children and grandchildren, about the sun and the rays, and watching my little granddaughter when she was only about a year and half old trying to pick up the spot of sun on the carpet, and an article that I wrote called "The Warmth of Soul". This short, but potent, thought of yours this morning is certainly giving me plenty to do. In fact there is so much to do today to express God's glory in every way I can. Thank you for sharing your unfoldment with each of us all over the world, as the sun shines all over the world. Just think the glory of God is shining on the soldiers at war, and they are protected, guided, and healed by that. Wow I am going on and on, but this "Lift" is going on and on in my thoughts.
Gloria

This is such a great lift today. I use the analogy of the rays of light all the time - every idea (not just me) is at one with God as the rays of light are one with the sun and expressing Mind as the beams of light express the light of the sun. Only good can be expressed.
I love these daily lifts. Thanks to all the lecturers for taking time to record them!

Well, this is certainly a case of "before they call, I will answer"!!! Had a mini-meltdown Friday evening, listening to snaky thoughts of "what's my purpose, why am I here?" etc, etc. My head knew the answers, but my weary heart drooped. Then today's wonderfully joyful music, and the message with one of my favorite Bible messages, and Anna (#6) quoting the passage that came to me over the weekend . . . what a spiritually uplifting celebration of holy purpose. Sun/rays . . .God/us. So direct and simple and true. Happy shining to you all!!!

Lea, (#73) I'm happy you like the changes in the music! Some of the musicians have been poking me to give credit to them for the recordings. All the music for this program - excluding the first few weeks - was composed especially for this program and was recording in 2 sessions here at the Mother Church by a group of wonderful musicians. Here are the credits. I'm adding this to the FAQ today.

I love the way Soul shines AS us, in our true depictt as "man," His (Her!)

Also, Berta from Colorado, #65 today: I am so glad to be reminded of your article, "The Warmth of Soul." I carried this in my snow ski parka for YEARS, reading it on collllld ski lifts. What a lovely opportunity to say THANK YOU for helping to keep me warm in Soul, on all those ski trips.

I SO appreciate this reminder. When I was a little girl and it was my turn to do dishes and "mop" kitchen floor (all of which I preferred NOT to do as I was listening to the laughter of my friends out side playing and that is where i wanted to be)...my dear Mom would remind me as we do ALL things to the glory of God, with joy, they will be done well, effortlessly and I would be smiling as I walked out the door to join my friends.
I work with this thought often when I feel a little tugging away from what needs to be done.
Do all things to the glory of God....with such joy!

Thank you Tom for your joyous inspirations! I like your idea: "Lets do it all for the glory of God." Whether we are sweeping the floor, helping family, doing business, or servicing customers. From this weeks Bible Lesson, Isaiah 60:1 : Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee."
I John 4:16,18: "God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear.

- 11/16/2009Yesterday, while thinking about people's need for healing, I looked up, in Mrs Eddy's writings..''my reason for existing'' and found it on page 265 of Miscellany....the scientific response to What am I ? ''..I am able to impart truth, health, and happiness, and this is the rock of salvation and my reason for existing.''
A strong message to us all.! Thank you for the wonderful Daily Lifts

- 11/16/2009Thank you Mr McElroy, and thank you to all the Lecturers for these Daily Lifts.
Marisa
- 11/16/2009Thank you Tom. Humility is synonymous, if we give God's glory in everything we do. when i put God in my heart then his glory filled me.what a wonderful daily lift.

- 11/16/2009Thank you, Tom, that statement clearly says that we are so important for God to have created us in His/Her image. So important that MBE decided to remind us every Sunday in church, “what manner of love has the Father bestowed upon us TO BE CALLED THE CHILDREN OF GOD”! Isn’t it a waking up statement? To be created in God’s image, for God’s glory, to glorify God!!
Sue
- 11/16/2009There is such strength in the idea that we are the expression of God's being; that we are the outcome of God's Love. Thanks Tom!

- 11/16/2009Thank you for this bright inspiration: like a sunbeam, the spiritual being is always united and not separated of his origin and source of being, the universal Principle from which emanates all good, correct ideas and all qualities to a resplendent day, each day for all.
Barbara- Tempe AZ
- 11/16/2009And I love thinking that the flowers never have to ask the sun to shine on them-it just does-and so it is with God shining His love-He just does.

- 11/16/2009The perfect "lift" to walk out of my house with and elevate my thought...and my day. Thank you!!!
Lorraine in Dayton, Ohio
- 11/16/2009Thanks, Tom, I couldn't agree, more. God needs each one of us to express Him/Her in the unique way that only we can do. That's awesome when you think about it!
Mary
- 11/16/2009Wow!
Shirley
- 11/16/2009And like the rays of the sun, we can't be separated from God or each other. I like to think of the sun light as Truth and the warmth as Love.
Thank you, Tom, I love the picture of you with your warm and sunny smile - like the daily lift that told us to smile. :-)
Heidi
- 11/16/2009Thanks Tom for this beautiful reminder.
Carolyn
- 11/16/2009Thanks, Tom
"This is the day the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it."Today I am anticipating God's glory to be evidenced in me and everyone with whom I come in contact. In fact this is going on now and being manifest around the world in soft yet powerful ways. It includes leaders of the world, business leaders, leaders of charitable organizations, leaders of churches and families, and so forth. Today I expect to see evidence of Almighty God springing forth !
As the hymn says "A glorious day is dawning."

- 11/16/2009..Thankyou Tom for a great start to the week.
Lots of love to everyone from Whitby, North Yorkshire, England

- 11/16/2009Wonderful message. Thank you all for this gift!
Jaana
- 11/16/2009I love this "grounding" reminder that no matter what I am doing throughout my day, and no matter how far from God I may feel in the busy-ness of my tasks, I am still the expression of God. I can return to the idea that "I am glorifying God in this very moment", and feel connected to God, just like a ray is to the sun. Thank you, Tom!
Mom D
- 11/16/2009We can do so much more and do it so much more freely when we do it to the glory of God! It helps us to get self out of the way and then the sky is the limit. Thank you for this reminder, Tom!

- 11/16/2009We truly are the glory of God, and we are in our right place.

- 11/16/2009Thank you Tom for this beautiful reminder to me today to let my life SHINE.
Lorna
- 11/16/2009Thank you Tom
And thank you llona from Whitby. I can ditto your experience and I'm grateful for Tom mentioning "even for the sweeping of floors" which is what is involved in my business. Do all to the glory of God,, for good, and spread a little happiness as you sweep!

- 11/16/2009God is the sun and I am the shine. I can move through my day effortlessly, happy, doing whatever needs to be done...rejoicing and reflecting God's
purpose and plan for me. This plan is already mapped out by God all I have to do is listen and follow. I am so grateful for knowing this truth. I love being
connected to this wonderful community of "daily lifts". I feel that I have friends all over the world united in God's purpose of true liberty and justice for all. Thank you Tom for this wonderful inspiration.

Glad to hear from a young lecturer!
A second thought:
Let's see how many times we can catch other people being the glorious rays of God today, "whether they are sweeping a floor or entering a talent show".

- 11/16/2009Umhm, yup, you got it, we got it! Horray!
Keith Keplinger, Texas
- 11/16/2009That was excellent, Tom.
Wendy from Connecticut
- 11/16/2009Thank you Tom for this wonderful thought. It is so helpful to think of all of mankind as being part of God, and that we are all reflecting God's qualities as we each go through our individual days.
Mary E.
- 11/16/2009Beautiful---Fits right in with the Bible lesson this week!!! The expression
of Soul. Thank you, thank you.
Marilyn from California
- 11/16/2009Statements about the "glory of God" have been in the weekly lessons a lot lately and I remember last week questioning what that really meant to me. Wow, in this week's lesson it really pops out at you and I'm so glad you gave such an inspired concept of how we live to the "glory of God." It will be put to good use. Thanks so much, Tom.

- 11/16/2009What a great message for the day. It took me to Mark 2:14, "glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." Peace, good will, glory to God -- they all go together!
Blake
- 11/16/2009Tom, always great to hear your loving/healing voice. Great lift and something good to think about throughout the day!
Berta in Colorado
- 11/16/2009I have been sitting here contemplating your "Daily Lift" for about a half an hour.
Gloria
- 11/16/2009Thanks Tom. This message truly is an uplift for me this morning--the knowing that God radiates through us all as we are BEING all that God is! There isen't anything else. Much thanks.

- 11/16/2009Thank you so much, Tom, for reminding me that my sole purpose for being is to express God. We have no other reason for existing except to reflect our Divine Mind as its perfect idea! What a wonderful purpose, and what a wonderful reminder!! I am going to endeavor to glorify God more each day!! Thanks again.

- 11/16/2009This is such a great lift today.

- 11/16/2009The LIFT program is a blessed idea! As #48 Alane wrote, I feel I have friends all over the world, united in God's purpose to love oneanother. Thanks so much.

Nate, I really appreciate the changes in music. It helps keep things fresh.

- 11/16/2009Well, this is certainly a case of "before they call, I will answer"!!!
Gladys V. Batan
- 11/16/2009Great thought to start my week, especially as I prep my mind for the holidays. All to the glory of God. Good reminder Tom. You rock! Love from Los Angeles, Gladys

- 11/16/2009Lea, (#73) I'm happy you like the changes in the music!

- 11/16/2009I love the way Soul shines AS us, in our true depictt as "man," His (Her!)
man-ifestation! Witness today's shining son: Tom! Thanks for sharing these ideas, Tom. I've taught so many Christian Science Sunday School students using the analogy of the sun and its rays, as God, Soul, and its ideas.
What a great religion this is!!!!!

- 11/16/2009Each day I choose a statement from the Bible Lesson to be my first line of defense and gratitude all day long. Today I chose living in the house of the Lord and "the Lord will give grace and glory." Thanks for your parallel "Lift". I know there is no disease in that glory. Humble gratitude, M

- 11/16/2009I SO appreciate this reminder.

- 11/17/2009Thank you Tom for your joyous inspirations!
Thanks again to all who participate in these inspiring Daily Lifts!
