what a great insight--if it makes you afraid it can't be real---and that is true on the face of it as being afraid is not good--God is all & God is good.

I love it! Thank you Mark. Just what I needed this morning.

If there’s no place where God is not, and if we are His image and likeness, as Genesis 1:26, 27 says, then it’s true that “in him we live, and move, and have our being”! Acts 17:28.

Then God must be the sum total of our wonderful existence!

Oh, but wait: this shows sin, sickness and death as unreal; our material existence an illusion; and us, His spiritual image and likeness… inseparable from God.
Always protected, just reflecting Him…
“If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there” Psalm 139:8

I’ve learned through Christian Science that it’s our right and responsibility (and quite doable!) to apply the Truth of being to the human condition; to challenge sin, sickness, disease, and death (even to extinction!) through the understanding that nothing unlike God/Good is real. So, IF “In Him we live and move and have our being;” THEN, I’m free to “rejoice and be glad” by proving this simple but profound Truth of being every day. To expect, witness, and express only all good unfolding, uninterrupted is like living an ongoing testimony. Wow! Thanks again, Mark.

I loved this, Mark. Thank you. I watched a documentary of a young man who rode his bicycle out onto Lake Eyre, which is a salt lake, so all glittery and very bright. He set up camp and just waited out there, all by himself, day after day; and nights passing in that immensity, until a storm came and he had to leave, lugging his bicycle and all his gear to go in search of the land. From the start he was quickly bored, and then he came to the place where he had to think, and watch what he was thinking. People phoned him, and he exercised - but I couldn't help thinking that he is in the same place as I am right here: with God, inseparable from God, and "in Him we live and move and have our being." His photos, in all this, were the most unimagineably spectacular 360 degrees of an ever changing blue sky; and the crystals of the lake; and his little one man tent.

That verse was a major turning point in my dad's healing of the symptoms of polio. My grandmother often told us grandkids about it. She filled her thought with the truth of that verse, and knew its power. He was very young and many other young kids were experiencing this problem. He became able to walk again, gained full strength, and lived a vigorous life, including being dad to four of us and granddad to many! I love Acts 17:28!!

Thank you for the clarity of this message, simple and profound It is freeing. Thank you to all for additional thoughts and comments. They are helpful and much appreciated.

I'm home! Thank you Mark, for simple, but strongly reasonable thoughts on threats, fears, even worries, which are only shades of fear hiding multiple ways. If I won't accept an outright fear, I might let a "little" worry slide into my thinking, and soon it multiplies. Some worries grow into fears that seem to begin within, so are less likely to be rejected, than if presented in a more direct way from a so-called outside source. This Lift is a good one to share, for I love the connection of the Bible verse to your saying, "If I'm afraid of something, that guarantees it doesn't exist." I need to apply that more often and vehemently to the little worries swimming in and around my thoughts as I do daily tasks, and read daily news. Some begin as, "I'm running out of time and/or space", (this Lift reminds me I never had any to use up or waste). My physical world is only what my eyes take in, my ears hear, and my body feels. But these and everything else are mental, a world teeming with more of God's ideas, living, loving, serving. If anything is presented as wrong in that world, through physical sense or news reports, I can prayerfully heal that thought, not shove it aside, but heal it, because I know all is in divine Mind, with no one in need, or doing wrong. If my sink needed cleaned, I'd wipe it out, or scrub, if necessary. I can effectively "houseclean" my thoughts, dusting, wiping, and when needed scrubbing. That's my daily healing task to work for myself and the world.

I learned as I child that God is everywhere and still there was a lot that I was afraid of - even God. As an adult someone read to me the scientific statement of being on page 468 of the Christian Science textbook. My fears started to vanish one by one as I began to study the Bible together with Science and Health because this statement and others in both books assure me that all being is in God because God is all. Your Daily Lift says it so well. Someone I love is looking deeply into spiritual ideas and really wants to know more about what Christian Science teaches. Thank you for this message that I will share with him today.

Thank you, Mark. At a time when my health and joy were in crisis, the thought came, "There is just God. Nothing else matters." I stuck to that thought tenaciously all one night and was healed by morning. Recurring breathing problems no longer occur, and a whole new life experience unfolded after that night of healing. That thought of "just God" is my bottom line when I need to wake up from any difficulty.
