God is as close as His own image and likeness’ thought!
“If we pray to God as a corporeal person, this will prevent us from relinquishing the human doubts and fears which attend such a belief, and so we cannot grasp the wonders wrought by infinite, incorporeal Love, to whom all things are possible“ S&H 13:20
But how?
“Let neither fear nor doubt overshadow your clear sense and calm trust, that the recognition of life harmonious — as Life eternally is — can destroy any painful sense of, or belief in, that which Life is not“ S&H 495:17

In an article by Nathan Talbot, CSB, "Living In the Now, Traveling from Earth to Heaven", he states:
"Most of us think the movement of an object happens within the context of time and space. Actually, it's a mistake to think this way. This limits what "movement" really means. True movement doesn't happen in time and space. It takes place only in the absence of time and space, only as we are free of material measurements, matter-based limitations. "
I have experienced this true movement first hand.
Some time ago my daughter and I were driving on Interstate 5. Ahead the Interstate turned into a Y, the left lanes continued on as I 5, the right lanes became Interstate 405.
I was in the far right lane and needed to be to the left to remain on I 5. As I checked my mirrors, I suddenly realized there was an 18 wheel Semi-truck signaling to be where I was and he was exactly where I needed to be.
It was obvious he didn't see me as he started moving over into my lane and it appeared a crash was emiment.
I didn't even have a moment to make an evasive move....yet all of a sudden I found myself to the left on I 5 as he was continuing on his way on I 405.
It was like we had passed through each other. I said to my daughter, " Did what I think just happened, happen? We passed through each other?"
She said: "Mom, I noticed we were all of a sudden in the correct lane and I heard you saying "Thank you, dear Father, thank you, dear Father, thank you, dear Father."

One day I only had time to say "Mind" before rolling over on the ground with everything. Everyone has a name. One guy said, "I thought you were dead." I was startled, but not hurt. Mrs. Eddy says, "The systems of physics act against metaphysics, and vice versa." (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, page 160.)

When driving to the mountains of New Hampshire, my sister and I had a similar experience. My sister yelled "God is Love" as we went spinning around the highway threatening to hit a guard rail and over a very steep cliff. We escaped totally unharmed even though our car was totaled. This experience will remain with me forever. An extreme evidence of God's protection and care.

Driving home from work I try to spend my time in prayer or listening to a CD of hymns. This particular day I was deep in thought and as I approached the left turn onto my street I noticed something off to the right side of the road just beyond my turn. I was trying to make out what it was, mesmerized by it, and suddenly realized I had turned into oncoming traffic. All I had time to say was 'Father!' I watched the car coming right at me, I had no fear but thought there would be impact. This car jagged to the left, went behind and around me without slowing down. The car in the next lane slowed slightly but continued past. I am not sure what the fellow sitting on my street waiting to make his turn was thinking as I made my turn. When I got home, I sat down going over what had just taken place and was in such awe at the proof of the presence of Mind in each one of us on that street.

Thanks, Michelle. Very amazing. Would it be possible to hear your friend's side of the story?
Here's Michelle's reply:
Immediately after this happened, we both looked at each other in a bit of shock and laughed! We might have expected protection in the collision, but this went beyond and above what either of us had experienced before. During that trip we both experienced many proofs of God's care.
This event occurred in early October of 1981. Shortly after our trip, I returned to the US and she stayed in England, where the events had unfolded. We lost contact shortly after. But I wouldn't be surprised to know she is out there listening to this Lift today. And if she is, I hope she would consider writing a comment and sharing what she experienced!

Thank you so much, Michelle. I've had a few never-to-be-forgotten moments when God simply took the wheel and reversed impending calamity, Suddenly finding I was sitting facing the opposite direction, I shouted a triple "Thank you thank you thank you, Father!" changed down to second gear and drove calmly back to the tiny settlement I had left half an hour before, I had no hesitation telling this instance of God's unfailing everpresent care and protection everywhere and to everyone. And others became forthcoming and confided they, too, had had similar experiences on those primitive outback bush roads, a long way from help and a friendly home. I had my own "affirmation of the presence and power of something larger than physics and fear, when the divine Principle, that is the law of Love, responded."

I too have had an experience where God was the only prayer I had time for. I was driving down an icy hill on my way to work with my 4 year old daughter when my car went into a spin heading towards an 18 wheeler. I closed my eyes and let go of the steering wheel and shouted "GOD!" When I opened my eyes my car was backed into a driveway between two large trees. I sat there awhile saying "thank you, thank you Father!" We then sang "Shepherd show me how to go..."all the rest of the way.
Thanks so much for this inspiring Lift and all of the other shared experiences. God certainly is an ever present help!

My mother had a similar experiece when I was a child. She drove a Crosley which
was a tiny car, sort of pre-compact car. She was driving on a freeway and was between 2 large
tractor trailors when they started to move toward each other. They did not see her and she was
about to be crushed. There was not enough time to pull back or speed up. She closed her eyes
and prayed. When she opened them she saw both tractor trailers in her rear view mirror in side by side lanes. Her prayer had resulted in defying the laws of time and physics. Experiences like yours and my mother's show us that soooo much more is possible than we are currently experiencing in our prayers or even dare to ask. Thank you for sharing this. My mother was reluctant to share because she felt it was just tooo unblievable to most people back then. Your courage to speak up and share is appreicated!

Michelle, you said, "We had just defied time and space," but I heard "We had JUSTIFIED time and space". I chuckled when I heard your words correctly, but thought about the word "justify" and looked it up on Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1913 + 1828) online:
Justify: To prove or show to be just; to vindicate; to maintain or defend as conformable to law, right; to pronounce free from guilt or blame; to pardon; to exculpate; to absolve.
Your were absolved from being in a tight place, and you maintained God's law of all His ideas moving in harmony with one another. You proved that law. You defied and justified!
Thank you, Michelle, for morning wisdom and a little chuckle.

"Mercy." Humbly thought, knowing that "the wideness of God's mercy is as wide as the sea" (Word of God) reversed the seemingly bad experience (begun as predicted) into a calm, peaceful one, just a day ago. Amazing grace! "Oh, I love God and He loves me." and "Praise our Creator" --- lines from my beloved CD's from a Christian Science book store. The more we practice our faith, the simpler it gets.

Many years ago I was traveling home on a snow afternoon when all of a sudden (coming over a hill) I saw 2 people on the right of the road, and a dog in the middle of my path, and a car heading toward me in the other lane....slipper roads would not allow me to break or swerve...and first I called out "NO" and then "God!" and the next thing I saw was the owners of the dog waving at me with smiles, the other driver waving thumbs up, and the sweet dog safe by its owners side....so, thank you for this lift today....and I love that all it takes is a ONE WORD PRAYER....reaching out to know that God is on the scene at all times...AND in control....love to all. A fellow Christian Scientist friend and I stepped out onto her porch. She saw that her cat was on the far side of the busy street full of moving cars. He saw us and started forward. I was not aware of that.... She took my hand and turned us away from the scene and said "Pray, just pray". I had no idea why she had asked that we pray, but we did. We stood still and I felt the calm, strong currents of divine Love. Within moments her cat was on the steps with us and the two lanes of traffic were still moving past. We gratefully acknowledged the protection of God as immediate and powerful.

Thank you Michelle. The power of that one word as prayer was proved to me by my son when he was just a babe. I was with him alone in a house we were renting in a very rural setting. I seemed to be quite ill and lay down on the bed to pray. My son Jon was not walking yet but could crawl. He was on the floor playing with some toys next to the bed. Suddenly, he looked up as though he heard something, looked over at me on the bed, crawled over, pulled himself up to a standing position holding on to the bed covers, and looked me in the eye. He said with complete assurance of the reality of good, "God!" He lowered himself back down to the floor and crawled back to his toys. I was instantaneously healed of the belief of illness and got up well. I walked into the kitchen and prepared a meal for us. I was totally in awe of that experience. "Out of the mouth of babes...."!

Thank you, Michelle! I woke up this morning with, "God is everywhere and nothing apart from Him is present or has power." (I think that's the right quote from Science and Health!) So, if I really believe that (which I don't always....) then when I can Let Go and Let God - I am getting out of my own way and all that's left is God, Good! I guess what I'm saying is that, in Truth, it's all right here, right now! It's only my false beliefs about reality that block me from experiencing God - Here and Now Always! WOW! Thanks, everyone, for all the stories of Reality and God's constant Presence! "Thy Presence ever goes with me and Thou dost give me peace." C.S. Hymn.

Thank you so much! And others for affirming the fact of God's ever presence to help. Especially in times of extreme danger human ability is put aside. I, too, have experienced God's immediate response to a cry for help. For several years I enjoyed the sport of fox hunting where foxes were rarely seen and even more rarely caught. But I loved the galloping over meadows, through woods, up and down hills and through creeks with others in pursuit of the hounds. So many times as I would feel my horse slip, lose his footing on rain soaked terrain, I would shout "God, help!! and seemingly miraculously, my horse would scramble and find his footing and we would gallop off. How grateful I am to God for His presence and protection in all situations, and to know that a simple heart felt prayer to him will always meet our needs. The human helplessness at those times seems to invite and affirm God's presence with no reservations or time for a more wordy prayer. I look forward to going through my day today just knowing God is there, and ready to meet every need.

Thanks, Everyone, for the reminders of similar experiences of my own, of others I witnessed, and of others who described theirs. The same lessons and blessin's so needed now. Thanks, too, for mentioning the integrity and courage to gratefully, honestly, humbly, boldly state the truth and facts when others in and out of church refuse to believe them and negatively react against the messenger. Wanted or not, The Truth is still the Truth. Still true, no matter how the death-talker's/truth-denier's material thinking would judge and label the truth-teller and try to distract and discourage other potential listeners and witnesses and celebrants. Each aspect of Church (periodicals, lectures, reading rooms, readings, daily lessons/study, testimonies, COP, etc) involves thanking God for these status-quo-denying past, present, future proofs of God's infinite control and grace, and the humility, trust, gratitude, and love it grows in us to glorify GOD !

Thanking God is not enough. Even the worst Dictator of Germany thanked God. Many people thank God, but many of those people can't demonstrate what they are thanking. One has to understand who God is, what God is, how God protects, God doesn't punish, he blesses. God is not Mother Nature sending violent storms, tornadoes and earthquakes. They are not an act of God, as the Media defines. When your aware of all of the above, then the thought of just GOD, can and does solve problems.

When I woke up today the idea came to me of Jesus walking on water. I thought about Simon Peter walking on water to meet him and when Peter noticed his ability how at first he began to sink. Then to hear this lift and all the wonderful posts in response! I cried a number of times from the sheer joy of reading the truth expressed over and over again. #5 Di~Vanc, I used to live in the San Fernando Valley and know exactly where I-5 merges into the 405. My daughter now lives in Valencia. That experience with your daughter was so real for me. While reading about it, I felt like I was in the car with you in that moment defying space and time. As you said from the Nate Talbot quote--"Movement doesn't happen in time and space...the absence of time and space." The fixed and solid appearance of our physical world is such a lie because it actually lacks substance.
Years ago driving in the snow, as I passed a car, a school bus appeared and a head-on collision appeared unavoidable. I yelled out "No!" My car went into a spin and moved, perfectly clearing the road and landing onto the road's shoulder. Had I "tried" to make that maneuver it would have been impossible. Effort is part of the physical realm. With God all things are possible . God's actions transcend time and space. With God, no time or space exists,. There are no barriers. All is Mind. Thank you Michelle and everyone for your wonderful messages today!

This reminds me of the time I awoke in a sea of blackness wondering "am I dead?" and the answer came "that is impossible", Then I saw three white chalklike words, God God God, and there appeared musical notes floating in the air and falling to form the words, Life, Truth, Love,.... and I opened my eyes to find my family all standing around my hospital bed waiting to see if I were going to "make it". It seems there had been an auto accident. And though I lost my car and gave up my license to drive, I am fine and having a great time helping others.

Thank you so much for this proof of God's protection and care. I, too, had a similar experience of protection right before our sad 9/11, which we commemorate today in the US. I had been praying and studying before a trip that I was to make for church work in California from Alabama. My flight was scheduled to leave on September 11th and the thought came to me, "Sea Captains on shore are of no use..... change your flight from the 11th to the 10th and go through Monroe, Louisiana." It was a complete command from God, I felt, so I changed my flight. When I got to California the next day everything happened but I was able to do everything I needed to so completely and harmoniously because I had listened to God and changed my flight. Last week I found in an 1865 Sentinel a quote by Mrs. Eddy, "you ask a question which I answer, which you and all students need most to advance your growth in practice, healing the sick. SEA CAPTAINS ON SHORE ARE OF NO USE." God is All!!!!l

The last day of class instruction, I was led to pray for my 12 year old son. I did and that afternoon while riding his bike, he was hit by a car going 35 mph. Although his bike was destroyed, he was unhurt. The first thing that he told me was, "Now I know there's a God." He shared a year later that he thought he had died that day because he felt himself leaving his body and going towards a bright light, but he knew what was happening and shouted, "NO!" He said that he immediately felt himself pushed back into his body. When he opened his eyes, he shouted, "I'm ok!" And he was. He had a tiny scratch. His friends who observed all this called him "the miracle boy." Thank you, God, for being our ALL.

It is a joy to hear and read so many accounts of people guided safety on the road with quick and brief glimpses of spiritual understanding. I'll add my own account. Driving with a young inexperienced driver on the narrow logging roads on Vancouver Island I began to feel apprehensive until I heard myself thinking, "We are all God's spiritual ideas, and one idea cannot harm another idea. These ideas pass each other harmlessly." My apprehension vanished instantly, and our trips were without incident, we always passed others where there was room and it was safe.
Thank God the word of Spirit protects all ideas, especially those who have an "incident".
Thank you Michelle for sharing your incident and the concept of God's protection.

I have come to appreciate and trust what I call 2 second prayers. Once we were in some turmoil over a botched rooming situation on a family trip. One family member was particularly upset and wanting to leave the rest of us and take a flight home. The thought that came in the midst of the turmoil was "We are at home." That restored our sense of harmony, and out of the blue, as perfect rooming situation became evident.

What a wonderful group of experiences proving the efficacy of yielding to God... and immediately!
This morning I was led to consider "personalizing mortal mind". Not as the idea of attaching incorrect characteristics to an individual (of course), but more specifically attaching physical characteristics to things around us (including planes, trains, and automobiles!) Jesus could not have indulged the generally accepted characteristics of the water he traveled over, could he? ... or the crowds or doors he may have passed through. He was the example of God's order revealed as needed.
And, then, today's lift and all the wonderful experiences that point this way also. The immediate release of the limitations suggested to us. One word (right idea) is enough.
MANY THANKS to the typers and the listeners who have recalled their own revelations!

I saw the effect of a 3 word prayer, "GOD IS HERE!", save the life of a man whose car hit black ice on a New Hampshire back road and skidded off a steep cliff into water far below. My friend and I following in our car, saw what was happening and my friend's first reaction-prayer was those power 3 words..."GOD IS HERE!" And he meant it. Because just as we were able to slow down to a stop, near where the car had gone off the edge, the man who had been in the car had just climbed back up to the road again. The timing of all this was impossibly fast. Humanly, there was no way this could have happened the way it did. His car was in the water below...and from human appearance, there was no way that he could have escaped...which he did and was in perfect condition. God had other plans and my friend's prayer, a prayer from God, changed the outcome. Needless to say, I learned a huge lesson about the immediacy of prayer, about always "feeling" prayer and being ready with prayer at the drop of a hat.

Some years ago during a buss night trip through the mountains of Minas Gerais our buss swirled and
I saw it going toward the rocks on the right side of the road, at a considrable speed. My mother shouted "Gott" and I "Deus é Vida". Instantly the buss with 40 people in it,took a 90 degree turn left and went over toward and into the river Paraibuna. The steep bank slowed considerably the trust forward and it went a few feet into the river waters, but we all were able to scramble out of it. My mother had a wonderful healing out of that experience.
Thank you all for sharing it moved me deeply. "Gott" = God; "Deus é Vida" = God is Life.

i am so grateful for this lift . One dayI was with a friend driving on a road in Brittanny. All the way along I had noticed deep ditches on our side of the roads leaving no possibility to come off. Suddenly we were face to face with an oncoming car . We had time to see the young driver's terrified face, my friend turned the wheel, avoided the car and came back on the road, which still had ditches all the way along and no "passing place" Not perhaps so dramatic , but still proof of God's control of all Blessings to all

This proof that metaphysics takes the place of physics is such a blessing. Merci, Michelle.
I have experienced numerous proofs of this. Recently on an interstate traveling at night, our car was passing a huge semi truck with another semi in front of us. The semi in front began to sway into the one he was passing. I had been praying and felt totally safe anticipating a proof of God's loving care. The passing semi immediately was going straight, and we all proceeded on our way. My husband, who was driving, and I were joyously grateful.
Infinite blessings to all.

Donna, my wife, and I were traveling to Utah from Wisconsin. It was a marvelous journey. Each time we make it we find some new and great opportunities. We were toward night fall and at the threshold of Veedavoo, a short route through a pass from Cheyenne, WY to Laramie, OK. As we entered things looked fine and so we decided to make the last leg to Laramie. The trip is a wheel gripper to begin with and, in the winter, the seemingly vertical down hill which curves a lot through the mountain, while beautiful, can be dangerous if and when it snows; and wind is a constant at times. The night grew darker and the snow and wind became horizontal. I knew we would be okay because God is always in control. We could not see in any direction. Suddenly, an eighteen wheeler was beside us then in front of us. We followed it! As we got to the bottom and pulled off into Laramie the truck simply was not there; anywhere. God is ever present! H/She constantly guides us. Remarkable yet, simple! It is faith in this truth which is important to understand; faith in Truth.

I came to the Daily Lift late today (it's 7.45pm), and what a joy to have 82 supporting messages to read as well! I truly felt "compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses" [Hebrews 12:1] - witnessing everpresent all-power Mind in action. Thank you so much Michelle for your great Lift, and for all the contributors who bore witness to the power of "God with us".

WOW, Michelle! Thank you - and thanks to all those who have shared their stories too.
Perhaps we could have a future issue of the Sentinel on this topic - one-word prayers? Quite obviously there are so, so many examples where this kind of prayer has turned everything around! This is a huge reminder to me - that effective prayer doesn't need to be anything elaborate or "clever" - and it's something the whole world needs to know, too. How about it?

What a testimony service this was this morning! We seem to all have such obvious examples of God's tender care defying whatever the material circumstance deems rathful and afflictive, and that we do entertain angels unawares!

Thank you so much for this lift.
Some years ago I was installing a garage door and had to release a spring that acted as a counter-balance. I had to pull a cable out to unhook a latch, and, because the cable had a lot of slack, I wound it round my hand in order to shorten it.
The latch unhooked, and the force of the spring immediately tightened around my fingers, threatening to sever them.
With no time to react, let alone pray, I shouted out "God!", and was instantly able to slide my fingers out from the vice-like grip of the cable.
All went well with the rest of the the garage door installation, and by the next day there wasn't even a mark on my hand.
I've sometimes shared this experience, but until today hadn't realised how many others have had similar instances when lengthy prayers aren't possible!
Thank you so much for explaining the metaphysics :-)

Michelle, you were seeing at that moment as God sees - amplifying that verse in II Corinthians 4:18, "we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal." Super!
Great to know that so many of you are seeing things "right side up" as God does. Thanks to all of you.

Thank you, Michelle, for the Lift and testimony. I've shared a similar one here before, so I easily understand the before & after feelings. My story involved a wide, heavy coal truck at a big concrete post bridge entrance with no alternate options. Yes, time, space, even weight, were disproved. Gratitude lasts forever! Our prayer was a bit longer, only time for a rushed, "God is our life"! Remembering one word prayer is enough, when more doesn't come to us, or we don't have time, is worth holding strongly in thought. There are some who exclaim the same word, but as a expletive, and in case someone not familiar with Christian Science teachings objects to the assured effectiveness of "God!", (especially on this 9/11 day) I think what is in the heart is more meaningful than what comes from the lips. Michelle reached out with understanding hope, while many not familiar with God as only Good, reach out as an angry curse. Others say it with despair, hopelessness. I hope if they hear this Lift, they'll study CS to learn the what, how, why of a one word, or longer prayer. May they learn our more common communication with Father involves more, to understandingly "tune in" with what God knows, and to feel His love. as it applies in general, or to a specific problem. God doesn't reject anyone, but understanding lets us see the good. WOW! THANKS TO ALL for testimonies and/or other one word prayers! More to say below, if accepted for posting.

Besides Michelle, there's so many to thank (never too many!). To ALL who shared these, you have my EXTRA special thanks. I saved your # & names to look back on and share. #13 Malcomb, your daily hymn was extra special today, as were ones mentioned by # 19 & # 27.
To add to my hope in my post not far above, to anyone who heard this Lift, read the comments but isn't familiar with CS, study our textbook, Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures (often shown here as S&H or Science & Health) by Mary Baker Eddy. This doesn't replace the Bible, but opens it up to see & understand more of God, and Christ Jesus' life & mission, and to follow Jesus, who said we could do his works (John 14:12). Even if you don't wish to leave your Church to come to ours, you'll find S&H reveals laws of God, Good, that don't belong exclusively to any denomination. You'll learn how to experience more in your relationship with God wherever you are. You're welcome to visit our Church Sunday & Wednesday Services and talk to people, and hear testimonies on Wed. night. You can get more writings on CS in our Reading Rooms. Our CS Journal, besides great articles, has a world-wide list of Churches, RR, and a world list of those, who full time are available to help with healing prayer (called Practitioners) whom you can call 24/7. Most reading know this, but this gets found on the Internet unexpectedly in searches of a word or Bible verse. A loving welcome to them.

I also had an experience while driving my car on a very busy four lane road. There was a large curve in the road and as I came around the curve a dump truck was sitting in my lane waiting for the opportunity to turn left. I had no where to go except in to the back of the truck. God is all powerful. I do not know where the truck went but it was no longer in front of me. I safely drove on thanking God all the way home. This occurred in the blink of an eye.

5 & # 100. My daughter and I also had an experience in a car, and in the twinkle of an eye we were safe and realized the car had literally gone through our vehicle. When I saw the impending and inevitable doom we were to encounter - I silently declared our safety and my daughter's young, innocent, trusting spirit was one with God and we were, of course, completely safe. To this day my daughter and I recall this "accident" and realize it was nothing but a complete dream, and God was always at the Helm.

Thank you for this aggregation of experiences. One that I had was on a relatively quiet local road at a stop sign. There was a truck in front of me, and when he started to go, I heard a loud and clear "wait". I did. After the truck had gone about 10 feet, a metal dolly came flying out the back. Had I gone, it would have been through my windshield. I went home with joy and gratitude for listening and obeying.

We were drivung on a rural road, outside of town. Nothing on either side but rock walls, no lights, on a starless and moonless night. This was an area where 45 was permitted and often supassed. We were suddenly without any lights working in the car, and it became very dark, nothing visible.Cars whizzed past us. Fear started to take hold as I was driving. "Father", I said in silent communication, ":we need some help here." A car came from behind, out of the total blackness, and impatiently rushed past us. then just as it was about to disappear into the darkness ahead, slowed and kept slowing until we came up behind it. We slowly followed it and the lovely light that shone around it from its headlights, lighting our way for several miles, until we were able to make a turn into our much quieter street. Our thanks sang in the honk of our horn...and in our hearts.
Another time, on the 405 Freeway drivingf rom LAX to Beverly HIlls at 8 PM on a Friday night, in the second to fast lane, the engine of my little car gave out. All I could think was God was there..Love was there. In that hugely busy traffic, behind my my stopped car, in all that ruch hour traffic, came a police car, which turned on lights and slowed traffic as it ran past us at 65 and over. Then I, with him pushing me, quietly and peacefully moved to the far right shoulder, where we rested.

Thank you Michelle for your one word testimony. God's ever ready presence, guiding and comforting, continuously. My wife and I can well testify similarly to much the same while early one morning we were driving high in the Colorado Rocky Mountains when an approaching car on our side of the road suddenly appeared from a curve. (No guard rails.) No time for exclamation our outcry aloud. But we each had been in silent prayer proclaiming Creation's ever presence. Instantaneously both cars were correctly positioned for safe passage. Upon my return from two years of military service during conflict in Korea I resumed teaching Sunday School. Shortly after, one Sunday, during closing as we were singing our last hymn a rifle shot was heard and the projectile bullet crashed through one of the room's windows missing the many students and their teachers, with the bullet stopping underneath my coat lapel, without damage to even a thread. Such is the omnipotence and omniscience of God, what the pupils and I had been discussing that
very special hour. We are infinitely blessed; therefor, time is not a factor to demonstration.

Some years ago I was driving down a very narrow, steep road that did a kind of 'tack' down the hill to the bottom. The first corner was approached but I hadn't realised just how sharp the corner was and I hadn't put sufficient turn on the steering wheel. It was too late to stop. The car was suddenly taken out of my control and turned around that corner and continued down the hill. I have always been very grateful for this experience.. Thank you for this further reminder that divine Love guards, guides and protects our every moment. A wondeful start to the day.

I have read over these wonderful comments several times now. Each expression of gratitude and each testimony giving glory to God for His/Her all-power and all-presence gives the world one more lift out of the heavy weight of hopelessness and sorrow. Daily Lifting really is a worldwide movement, and we are each blessed and a blessing for participating. One of you hit the nail on the head when you said that this is like the best Testimony Meeting. There were at least 2 times in my life when similar experiences happened --where God protected me from what seemed like an inevitable crash. Once I was trying to drive onto the expressway with my children in the back seat. It was snowing pretty hard and visibility was poor. When I got to the bottom of the entrance ramp, ready to enter traffic, the car's wheels couldn't get traction--they were spinning and we were going nowhere. As I sat there momentarily a large semi in the lane closest to me, which I hadn't seen, sped by. I was so grateful for God's help. Another time, I was going through a green light and someone pulling out of a restaurant, didn't see me. It seemed we would collide, but just in time he threw his car in reverse and went backward faster than I'd ever seen a car in reverse. It was amazing that he missed me by inches. I thanked God again. I didn't have time in either case to pray even God's name! But His presence fills all space with Love and harmonious action. I once heard that 2 ideas of God cannot share the same space anymore that 2 sunbeams can. And these 2 experiences showed me the truth of that statement!

This is the best testimony meeting ever. Thank you all. My sharing: My car 'drove though' another who was coming from my left. My friend and I called out 'God' and 'Father'. And as we drove through that car, the driver's face was about a foot from mine. We just looked at each other. I stopped the car and looked to the right where he had stopped on a small knoll above me and was looking down. We shared that we had both been praying. ... Another time a car about to plow into my driver's side suddenly disappeared. I had seen its hood just before 'impact' and said No! My girlfriend in her car behind me was expecting the sound of a crash, and she later told me the car just 'disappeared'. "Where did it go?" she asked. I answered, "It contined where it was heading." I love learning in Christian Science that God's creation is spiritual, there is no matter. Man is spiritual.God is Spirit. And with every denial of matter and all its claims and 'rules' - knowing its nothingness and the All of God, we experience more of heaven revealed as real, eternal, and man as immortal. I am most grateful for all the experiences of 'Heaven now!' Thank you all!!!!

Thank you Michelle. You proved that God is All-in-All. It reminded me of an experience my daughter told me about a number of years ago. She was out in her motor boat in a canal and it started to rain hard. As the boat was filling up she went to start up her pump but it didn't work.. After trying for several minutes with no result, she got scared as the water in the boat was rising. She told me she looked up and just said, "God?" and the pump started up. She got safely home. Oh, to remember more often that we are always at home and safe in God and not just when we are in trouhle. :)

How gloriously natural,
I too had a similar experience in the NY Adirondack Mts. One winter day
driving to work, while exiting on a steep off ramp, I hit black ice and was
heading for a country road that often had large logging trucks.
I just yelled one word, "Jesus"!
I had never called on Him out loud before,
At that point, as my tires had reached the edge of the road, the car stopped. We are always surrounded by Divine Love.

- 9/11/2012In an article by Nathan Talbot, CSB, "Living In the Now, Traveling from Earth to Heaven", he states:

- 9/11/2012Driving home from work I try to spend my time in prayer or listening to a CD of hymns.

- 9/11/2012Thank you so much, Michelle.

- 9/11/2012Thank you so much for this powerful and simple prayer. It is just what I need for today--and always! When mortal mind clamours loudly for attention, this simple thought of "God" immediately blocks out unwanted thoughts of disturbance, fear, pain, and so on. God!

- 9/11/2012I too have had an experience where God was the only prayer I had time for.

- 9/11/2012My mother had a similar experiece when I was a child.

- 9/11/2012Michelle, you said, "We had just defied time and space," but I heard "We had JUSTIFIED time and space".

Humbly thought, knowing that "the wideness of God's mercy is as wide as the sea" (Word of God) reversed the seemingly bad experience (begun as predicted) into a calm, peaceful one, just a day ago. Amazing grace! "Oh, I love God and He loves me." and "Praise our Creator" --- lines from my beloved CD's from a Christian Science book store. The more we practice our faith, the simpler it gets.

- 9/11/2012Many years ago I was traveling home on a snow afternoon when all of a sudden (coming over a hill) I saw 2 people on the right of the road, and a dog in the middle of my path, and a car heading toward me in the other lane....slipper roads would not allow me to break or swerve...and first I called out "NO" and then "God!" and the next thing I saw was the owners of the dog waving at me with smiles, the other driver waving thumbs up, and the sweet dog safe by its owners side....so, thank you for this lift today....and I love that all it takes is a ONE WORD PRAYER....reaching out to know that God is on the scene at all times...AND in control....love to all. - 9/11/2012A fellow Christian Scientist friend and I stepped out onto her porch.

- 9/11/2012Thank you Michelle.

- 9/11/2012Thank you, Michelle! Hymn.

- 9/11/2012Thank you so much!

- 9/11/2012P.S. I just remembered some more lines from that Hymn that fits perfectly with this Lift: "I climb with Joy the Heights of Mind to soar o'er time and space. - 9/11/2012Thanks, Everyone, for the reminders of similar experiences of my own, of others I witnessed, and of others who described theirs.

- 9/11/2012Thanking God is not enough.

- 9/11/2012When I woke up today the idea came to me of Jesus walking on water.

- 9/11/2012This reminds me of the time I awoke in a sea of blackness wondering "am I dead?" and the answer came "that is impossible", Then I saw three white chalklike words, God God God, and there appeared musical notes floating in the air and falling to form the words, Life, Truth, Love,.... and I opened my eyes to find my family all standing around my hospital bed waiting to see if I were going to "make it". It seems there had been an auto accident. And though I lost my car and gave up my license to drive, I am fine and having a great time helping others.

- 9/11/2012Thank you so much for this proof of God's protection and care.

- 9/11/2012The last day of class instruction, I was led to pray for my 12 year old son.

- 9/11/2012It is a joy to hear and read so many accounts of people guided safety on the road with quick and brief glimpses of spiritual understanding.
Thank you Lifters for sharing your incidents and/or the concept of God's protection.

- 9/11/2012I have come to appreciate and trust what I call 2 second prayers.

- 9/11/2012What a wonderful group of experiences proving the efficacy of yielding to God... and immediately!

- 9/11/2012I saw the effect of a 3 word prayer, "GOD IS HERE!", save the life of a man whose car hit black ice on a New Hampshire back road and skidded off a steep cliff into water far below.

- 9/11/2012i am so grateful for this lift .

- 9/11/2012This proof that metaphysics takes the place of physics is such a blessing.

- 9/11/2012Donna, my wife, and I were traveling to Utah from Wisconsin.

- 9/11/2012I came to the Daily Lift late today (it's 7.45pm), and what a joy to have 82 supporting messages to read as well! I truly felt "compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses" [Hebrews 12:1] - witnessing everpresent all-power Mind in action. Thank you so much Michelle for your great Lift, and for all the contributors who bore witness to the power of "God with us".

- 9/11/2012WOW, Michelle!

- 9/11/2012Thank you so much for this lift.

- 9/11/2012Thank you, Michelle, for the Lift and testimony.

- 9/11/2012Besides Michelle, there's so many to thank (never too many!).

- 9/11/2012I also had an experience while driving my car on a very busy four lane road.

- 9/11/20125 & # 100.
Wonderful lift!!!

- 9/11/2012Thank you for this aggregation of experiences.

- 9/11/2012We were drivung on a rural road, outside of town.

- 9/12/2012Thank you Michelle for your one word testimony.

- 9/12/2012Some years ago I was driving down a very narrow, steep road that did a kind of 'tack' down the hill to the bottom.

- 9/12/2012Michelle:
Your Spiritual guidance is welcome as noted by the response. Many times I have needed the response to things happening in a short moment.
Thanks!

- 9/12/2012I have read over these wonderful comments several times now. I am grateful for each one of you - speakers, writers and listeners - and am so happy to be a part of your team.

- 9/12/2012There were at least 2 times in my life when similar experiences happened --where God protected me from what seemed like an inevitable crash.

- 9/12/2012This is the best testimony meeting ever.

- 9/13/2012Thank you Michelle. :)

- 9/13/2012This is two days later. I have been so inspired by all the comments and experiences here that I have read them again this morning. It comes clearly to me that 'matter has not part to play' - anywhere or at any time.
.
Occasionally I have been Reader in my Church as a deputy. Part of the work I do at these times comes from a poem that I have written down. I have no idea where it comes from. It reads in part:-
This word goes out, goes through the walls
To answer a million anguished calls.
These Daily Lifts are doing just that and, in particular right now, this one.
Thank you, Michelle, for reminding us all of the everpresence and power of divine Love.

- 9/19/2012How gloriously natural,
I too had a similar experience in the NY Adirondack Mts.
