A really helpful lift today in a world of criticism and judgment - looking today for only good, seeing the Christ and not the critic! Love it, thank you so much.

Wow ... what a fresh and timely perspective! Thank you, Mark!
I remember how much more effective it was to look for opportunities to praise our children when they were doing something right rather than scolding them for what they were doing wrong -- hopefully instilling in them the desire to do right. How great to treat ourselves the same way -- looking for and feeling grateful for what we're doing right! Seeing what God, Love sees in us always gives us a lift.

Thanks, Mark. You will know that this last week many in the UK were 'praying' [each in their own way] that Andy Murray might see what he does right, in playing tennis. No, he didn't win the Wimbledon final, but he touched, and won, a great many hearts this week. And look at the Men's Doubles final: his near-namesake, Marray and partner Nielsen playing at Wimbledon only through 'wild cards' were seen to do right, freely giving a tie-break point to their opponents for an otherwise unnoticed infringement. Their right-doing was what was seen and will be remembered - not the wrong-doing [the minor infringement of touching the net]. Nobody including the umpire had noticed the wrong, but she was clearly delighted that the pair had put it right. Having gone on to win the Wimbledon final, how happy that pair will be to see that they did indeed do right, all-round.

I found your wonderful lift particularly helpful today, Mark. Thank you so much. I have been recently spending many hours and days in silent prayer and going deeper than ever before into Presence and Light. And you know what light does? - it shows up everything! Lol! And I saw what a massive ego I'd been carrying around all these years, and so there is a huge and glorious healing going on for me, as this personal sense of identity is dissolving away and a great humility and gratitude is surging up which is great, BUT I have been guilty of 'watching what was wrong', and metaphorically flaying myself with a switch of thorns over having been so unconsciously egotistic and in so doing, I have been completely ignoring what was right. I've been this harsh judge on myself, which as you say, God definitely is not. So now your message has reminded me to just relax and watch for 'what is right' about the way I'm living my life. ' I'm ' not living it anyway - as 'in Him we move and have our Being', so it can only be right! :-)
I also want to add that I recently came to your lecture in Wakefield in the UK and it was so inspiring. Thank you so much, Mark.

Oh, I really thought you were going to say that the Olympic judges train to see what the athletes do RIGHT--not wrong! :-) RIGHT is what I'd be looking for out of those graceful dressage horses! They're so humble, so willing to be obedient, so eager to please. They'd all receive gold medals if I were the judge!
2 siouxsioux's comment about parents praising children for doing right reminds me of the Christian Science approach to dog training developed by Judy Moore, whose system Dialogue teaches the student to correct instead of criticize the canine, then praise him to the skies once he gets it right.
Truly, what child or creature isn't responsive to generous, genuine attaboys and attagirls? None I know of.
So, Mark, bless you for this attaboys-&-girls Lift. It sounds positively divine! :-)

As a teacher I used to look for mistakes on students' papers and put a little red x next the answer or circle the error. As time went on I realized this wasn't exactly showing the student his/her progress. So I started using a different color and checked the correct answers. The students could go back and "fix" the ones not checked and return to me. If there was difficulty in doing this I reviewed the work with the student. This approach improved effort and showed progress.
I love your lift. Looking for what is right is such a helpful reminder to apply this same idea to ourselves and in our relationships and activities. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, Mark. I'm with you working out from the Gospel of Love & appreciation. Here's an old Johnny Mercer song from the 40's which captures this spirit:
"You've got to accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
And latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between
You've got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom down to the minimum
Have faith or pandemonium's
Liable to walk upon the scene..."
Everyone participating in the Olympics will be pulling all the stops to overcome material limitations such as fear, injury, competition, etc. and do their individual best. And we'll be praying right there with each and every one to catch 'em doing it perfectly! Can hardly wait. Thanks again.

"Trained to watch what people are doing wrong." Thanks, Mark. This has come to my attention in my daily life recently, Thank you for tackling that. At our work, one boss is known for giving nothing but criticism, never words of gratitude and affirmation of good. (This boss also happens to be a student of Christian Science.) BUT.... That's not how God is, who God is. It's not God's nature to constantly criticize His creation, His children. So, in my own practice, I am reminded to focus on God's nature and its allness, and claiming that neither this person or I am touched by this false view of God. In God's allness of Love, we live, move and have our being. Let us watch and stop any destructive patterns within relationships, whether at work, in family or among friends. Or even at churches.

Oh Mark. . .where were you when I was a little girl? The soft words were as rare as finding gold nuggets out on the street. What a difference it makes to have an explanation,to be shown the right way, encouraged and praised. And that coming from oneself to oneself. That approach totally changed my cycle touring and my life. It isn't only hearing those words said, but feeling the words lifting me up, and raising another the same way. Seeing how the other listens and appreciates the quiet, comforting assurance makes us feel so worthy of whatever improvement results.

Oh, Mark, that is just Excellent! You did it Right! I have been noticing lately how much I do "negative self-talk" or in other words how much I listen to the carnal/mortal mind's judging of myself. I think Mrs. Eddy says somewhere something like, "Mortal mind says, 'You are wretched" and we believe it."!! I have learned to get up each morning and look in the mirror and say, "Good Morning, Sweet Pea, I Love You!" I think the fact that we focus so much on being "Perfect" in C.S. can sometimes translate into human perfectionism" which promotes looking for all the ways we aren't perfect and beating ourselves up for it! I am learning that God REALLY wants us to Love ourselves, just the way He/She does! Thank you for the "perfect" Lift! Much Love and Bon Voyage - I'm off on another Road Trip Adventure!! We've come to think that the words critique and critical are associated with what is wrong as Mark shares today; whereas taking a critical look at something or someone means to look closely and see the good as well as the bad, what is right as well as what is wrong. Let's look "deep into realism" as Mrs. Eddy says in "Science and Health" and see what God sees: only good! Thank you, Mark!

How many instances in one day are we given to witness God, Love's protection? God, Mind's all-wise intelligence? God, Truth's immutable demand for integrity and honesty? etc. Yes, in ourselves, but also so much good expressed in everyone else every day!
Of recent it's been fun to practice this when reading the news.
I heard a talk on parenting awhile ago. The speaker shared, "catch" your teen in what they are doing right by saying, "I noticed that...". A practical way to watch for what they naturally do right...

At a time when our nation is going through such turmoil with the upcoming elections, it will be refreshing to "watch" the Summer Olympics on Friday, July 27. The Olympics represent the world's best athletes and each participant has trained for years in "watching for good" and then taking the next step; "doing the good". I like the analogy of the training of the judges for the Olympics. This concept of "training" can be applied to our daily "watching of good" in the world which we engage in. I know that if I'm critical of anyone then I'm unable and literally blinded to the good that is seen by others. Thank you for this reminder to "watch and see and do" only the good within ourselves and everyone!

Mark,Thank you, this Lift "just hit the sport" as we often say in South Africa after a delicious cup of tea or an iced drink after a thirst.I grew up in a Church were I was taught of a punishing God sitting on a throne somewhere in heaven judging the good and condemning the bad.I struggled with trying to be good so I would not go to "Hell". I just did not feel good enough, even though I regularly went to confession of my sin to a Priest as required by the Church. After many years of this uncertanty,I read the Book Science and Health with Key by to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy and steadily began to understand God as Love,oh what Freedom I have known, understanding I am and[all are] forever the beloved and loved of God.The Understanding of God as Love and not a punishing individual sitting up in the heavens, but present everywhere,is Freedom! Ah – my cue…
The word Dressage means “training”. Rythm (takt), suppleness (lossgelassenheit), relaxation, contact, impulsion, straightness and collection-these are the training objectives. In competition these aspects are “judged” during the performance of prescribed movements and the horse/rider team is awarded marks from 0-10 for segments of the “test”. Ye with the most points wins.
I cannot speak to most Olympic sports, but as former horse trainer I know that permanent joy lies in the realm of oneness. (rides never forgotten!) It is a oneness that transcends training and toil. Much like a Christian Science healing, the pure and simple harmony just seems to arrive and you never want to leave it. Others can see it, but you know that it is not you.
Jesus had this to say about judgement "Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man .And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me." John 8:15-16.
God gives out only “10’s”. After we stop trying to train and judge ourselves, a “10” is waiting for us. I am accepting “10’s” today! Thanks Mark for leading us to the head judge.

Thank you, Mark.
Great message.
Many have been trained since their early childhood to see God as a harsh judge who is frighting and condemning. The result is that so many people today have no faith and spirituality in their lives.
I had a profound healing at The Mother Church this past January for rest and study. The major shift in my thinking was that I saw God as Love. For the first time in my life I felt His love which moved me to the core. Once that happened I was able to let go of the false landmarks of materiality. They simply vanished as dark gives way to light.
It was not difficult to let go of the false landmarks because they were replaced with Love from and for Christian Science. I just no longer cared for the false landmarks as they were nothing compared to divine Love.
My recommendation is that people start by focusing on what is right with themselves as the image and likeness of God. Then they will be able to see the good in others. I couldn't do that until I first loved myself. And I couldn't love myself until I knew with all my heart that God loved me rather than judged me.
This experience left me light years ahead in my well-being.
Truth, Wisdom, Love, and Sincerity, to ALL mankind.

I am so glad that Marc Sweeney picked this wonderful lift. I learned never to bring a person down when correcting, not criticizing, them. When I was in the work field, my boss always corrected, and he did something more, he praised his employees, including me, for doing right. He once told me, and at that time, I was a young man in my middle 20's; "I believe that correcting is very important, for if you don't correct, they will make the same mistake if they ever worked for some one else. To me it's wrong not to correct, when correcting is necessary, like wise praise them to the hilt when they do what's right." I should tell you that man ran a good ship. When one does right, one is with God, only when one does wrong, he willingly or unwillingly SEPARATES him/her self from God.

Thanks, Mark, for “Watch for what you do right…‘It is God which worketh in you…’” God as Love and we as Love’s image and likeness. The standard of our true identity is set. Mrs. Eddy wrote, “We should examine ourselves and learn what is the affection and purpose of the heart…the author has been most grateful for merited rebuke. The wrong lies in unmerited censure, — in the falsehood which does no one any good.” When “true identity” seems compromised, I’ve been very strengthened on my own and another’s behalf, by emphasizing, instead of guilt, shame, or punishment - God’s laws of progress and adjustment. Every circumstance is an opportunity to prove God with us. It’s a choice. I’m reminded of the Cherokee Legend about the two wolves within…one good (let’s say, our true identity as God’s children), the other not good (not our true identity)…the grandson asks which wolf wins... and the grandfather says that it’s the one we feed. And Albert Einstein said, “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.” If my standard seems to be trailing, I need to learn the lesson and raise my standard again, based on the Truth of being – our only real identity as Love’s image and likeness. Experience after experience, it seems the question and answer are always the same: “Is the Truth still the Truth – even NOW??? Yes!!!” And we can prove it. As Mrs. Eddy wrote, “…become men and women only through growth in the understanding of man's higher nature.”

Wow! What perfect timing for a perfect Lift -- for me. As chair of our branch church's lecture committee I was faced with a sticky situation to handle. How to come to a right decision and how to handle it and not have me be the "culprit" who did it. I humanly thought but then diligently prayed and listened. And God said, "The Manual. It's in the Mother Church Manual. It's not on your shoulders." Thank you, Mrs. Eddy for the Manual and its guidance for all church activities.
Much love to you, Mark and all the Lifters for all the good you share with us.
Nate -- or whomever. I love the guitar music this week. Is it in an album?
What a powerful and uplifting message. It's so good for us to remember to see the good in ourselves and others as God sees the good in us. This line of thinking reminds me of the parable of hte prodigal son. His father never accepted the son's "riotous living" as any part of him, and when the son awoke with humility to his true nature, the father was right there ready to welcome him home in a big way - with the best robe, a ring and a celebratory party.
It is incumbant upon us to see ourselves as good, for we have the Biblical statement, "And God saw everthing that he had made, and behold it was very good." As God's children, we can only see and be good.

Thanks, Mark. I love that idea. A thought we bring to counselor training about campers is "catch them being good", not just correcting a mistake but looking for those opportunities to point out every right action - and boy do we see a lot of good as a result. That really opens everyone to that expectation of good that is so natural to God's children (of all ages). Thank you to the whole Daily Lift team!

Thanks Mark. Boy! We cannot hear this message often enough! The god of the material senses projects such a limited sense of what is good and right about both God and man, because it suggests that man is found created in the good and bad appearing as mortals, as though matter is God's likeness. Spiritual sense clears all this up, revealing the fact that like God, Spirit, man is spiritual and expresses only the qualities of God, good. We see only what we believe, and when belief is spiritualized by the facts of God's understanding, we see more of the goodness of God and His own idea, man. This is Super ... thanks so much for this Lift!

WOW !!! what a wakeuup call! Your lift made me realized how critical I have been of the previous owners of the home my son and daughter-in-law purchased about 3 years ago. Over this time it has been necessary to replace/repair many things at considerable cost that were not apparent at the time of purchase. Horses don't really know any difference between amateurs and professionals. Where I live you can find heavy horses being used to twitch logs in the woods. Ask her (sometimes him) what is the most important quality for a horse to demonstrate, and she will likely say, "the ability to stand still in one place while I do my work." Unless her horse can do this, she is useless on the job, and she is not ready or capable of what she is being asked to do before the pulling starts. I for one can relate to the ability to be still, as the Bible tells us (Psalms 46;10) "Be still and know that I am God." So ask your own equestrian family members or your local friends about their horses, as I did.

Hi Mark, when I worked with young children and in raising my own, I would always tell them if you don't have anything good to say about another, don't say anything at all. Even though for a while I would hear it all day long, "he called me stupid", but through active prayer even that negativity became null and void. Thank you Mark for this reminder to see not only yourself, but others as perfect.

Thank you for this beautiful Lift and that, it certainly was today. I have been working for some time now on loving myself as God loves me, His precious child....not been easy to do as I think of past mistakes and try to punish myself because of them. I am happy to say that I have been able to love myself better because of the study of Christian Science which teaches the world about God, who actually IS Love. Thanks again for this reminder of the good God who would never judge His child with a harshness or cruel fear of Himself, but Only sees each of our goodness and lovingly guides us in a new direction if that is what we need to do but Never with anything but LOVE, wisdom Truth and loving kindness. After all, it is He that thought us, designed and drew us for His pleasure and why in the world would he draw within each of us anything but Perfection....thank you Father/Mother God for giving each of us His all Good!!! Let's all only see good today in each person and experience. I used to tell little children I was helping, when they brought a problem about a friend they were not getting along with at school, their assignment was to find just one thing good about that friend. Sometimes they would think that an Impossible request but it Never failed to heal the situation and when we talked again, the child had always found way more than just one thing good about the friend and were happy to be free of that bad feeling of hate or fear....happy, happy day to all, CayDee

Thanks Mark,
Such a good reminder to look for the real
man-- to see him as he is.
And since he is perfect by reflection-- he must be doing good-- and doing things right.
To be about our Father's business we must be dwelling on the goodness that God is.
Tonight I'm playing organ for our Wednesday evening testimony service.
And I am going to take your lift with me-- to see
what is being done right and well in the service.

As well as the music-- a sense of harmony-

Many thanks Mark for that excellent lift! This reminds me of the many times that I feel sorry for myself only because no one seems to be expressing love right back to me. I feel like I'm always giving and not receiving. Well, as you said, "we need to judge ourselves from a higher standpoint".....God's standpoint. That's so wonderful of a reminder to keep our focus on our divine right as a gift of giving from our Creator. This is doing right. As Mrs. Eddy says, "Love is reflected in love." How perfect can that be! Invariably I find myself turning right back to perfect God and perfect man and just knowing that He is my Father-Mother that I'm expressing moment to moment in an absolute scientific "right". I am forever learning not to measure how others are performing, but to look from within that makes me most happy. I'm so grateful that we have this wonderful Science of the Christ to be a constant part in our "natural being". Thank you God and God Bless You All!!

Good one Robert #63. I am just reading (again) a book called The Complete Sayings of Jesus, compiled by Arthur Hinds (seems fully available at: http://www.sacred-texts.com/bib/csj/csj000.htm). It goes through everything Jesus said in chronological order (compiled from Mt,Mk,Lk,and John) and gives one a really unified view of the of his teachings and works. I am reminded by you of how often he used the parables to move thought and then how he elaborated the meaning to his disciples who were ready to grasp more directly his meanings. Yep a good draft horse knows how to be "still".

And, #65, Vicky: this is from a children's book: "If you can't say anything nice, don't say it at all!" This was said by the rabbit in the book!
If we only speak and think good (God-like thoughts) nothing but good will occur in our experience....for ourselves, and for all those that we come into contact with.

Where did that negative critical thought come from, I have to ask myself sometimes. It just snuck in so quietly. Thanks for reminding me to be so alert to negativity and accept only good pure thoughts about everyone and everything. How uplifting that can be!

I like the way this has us focus on how we think God is watching. Thank you, Mark. It seems to insist God isn't watching IF we do good, or WHEN we do good (as if he had a choice between our actions) but He watches AS we do good, for He is our governor all day, every day. He already is working in us to will and do of His good pleasure. This shifts our homework for this Lift from trying to simply reassure ourselves that God isn't marking down against moments of anger, negligence to spiritual alertness and duty, etc., but sets us to look extra closely to find more ways we are doing good. There has to be more than we think, or remember at end of day. Focusing on watching for good in ourselves, both in thought and deed, will increase what we seem to find, for it will open our spiritual eyes to find our close relationship with our Father. The more we look, the more we see, and the more we consciously do good, rather than seem to yield to anger, worry, frustration, etc. In Olympic judging terms, this Lift gets a 10! Was tempted to wish I'd done this 100% raising my kids, but like # 44 Rob, faults are wiped out for them and me. #4 Malcomb, I've space to thank you for watching with song, always perfect for the topic. #45 name, Thanks for link. #48 Tobias, wise boss & you, the employee! #52 Nela, thanks. And a 10 for the wealth of precious comments today, thanks all!

Lee Ann - Berkeley Good Uplift to remember that judgment was actually rooted in the idea of separation of wheat and chaff to DISCERN the Good portion we want to carry on with - for whatever uses. I :appreciated the ego comment egoism can appear and have the appearance of self-centered approaches especially while combating a feeling of not being truly recognized, taken seriously, or heard and credible in some situations. I am working to understand this more so thanks for bringing it up in your response; ah that is the gift of comments-- to immediately grow these Lifting ideas in each unique hearing of it. Now , becasue of my studies of Christian Sciene I have begun to see the right things I have done and it seems as though I have taken mroe responsibility for my Life. I have moved forward more quickly. Previously, when I would see the wrong things I did and poor choicesperhaps that I had made, my thought would take a downward spiral turn and leave me in the basement then, thinking:"
,"' Oh what's the use, I will never achieve the ability to turn my lfie around." Then I would give up, and remain frozen in fear. Now, since I have learned to look for the good I have done, each step leads to more good, and more until the goal I had planned for myself is achieved. I am so grateful for this Christian, Science and for Mary Baker Eddy revealing it to us. Thank you! all for sharing, and thank you , Mark ,for a refreshing, and complete healing, and inspiring look at this pearl of a concept for us to use. Merri

No doubt that if you look for a problem you'll find it.
When I am not content with my own accomplishments My mom says, "Don't look for the fifth leg of the cat because it doesn't have one"
If we are in a competition like the Olympics, fine, but if not, just watch for what is right, and you'll find that there's a lot more good in it that you’d thought.
Good is powerful because it has it's source in God.

Spot on, Mark! In bowling, we keep score for how many pins we get, not how many we leave standing. In baseball we celebrate the player who gets a hit 3 out of every ten at bats. We accept that they will not succeed seven out of ten tries. Yet, when we measure ourselves and our actions we tend to raise the bar to unreasonable levels. If we follow one simple Golden Rule (Luke 6:31) then we will be doing right ten out of ten times. We will be watching ourselves having a perfect game!

- 7/11/2012Wow ... what a fresh and timely perspective!

- 7/11/2012Thanks, Mark.

- 7/11/2012I found your wonderful lift particularly helpful today, Mark.

- 7/11/2012Oh, I really thought you were going to say that the Olympic judges train to see what the athletes do RIGHT--not wrong!

- 7/11/2012As a teacher I used to look for mistakes on students' papers and put a little red x next the answer or circle the error.

- 7/11/2012Thank you, Mark. I'm with you working out from the Gospel of Love & appreciation. Here's an old Johnny Mercer song from the 40's which captures this spirit:
"You've got to accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
And latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between
You've got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom down to the minimum
Have faith or pandemonium's
Liable to walk upon the scene..."
Everyone participating in the Olympics will be pulling all the stops to overcome material limitations such as fear, injury, competition, etc. and do their individual best. And we'll be praying right there with each and every one to catch 'em doing it perfectly! Can hardly wait. Thanks again.

- 7/11/2012"Trained to watch what people are doing wrong." Thanks, Mark.

- 7/11/2012Oh, Mark, that is just Excellent! - 7/11/2012We've come to think that the words critique and critical are associated with what is wrong as Mark shares today; whereas taking a critical look at something or someone means to look closely and see the good as well as the bad, what is right as well as what is wrong.

- 7/11/2012At a time when our nation is going through such turmoil with the upcoming elections, it will be refreshing to "watch" the Summer Olympics on Friday, July 27.

- 7/11/2012Mark,Thank you, this Lift "just hit the sport" as we often say in South Africa after a delicious cup of tea or an iced drink after a thirst.I grew up in a Church were I was taught of a punishing God sitting on a throne somewhere in heaven judging the good and condemning the bad.I struggled with trying to be good so I would not go to "Hell". - 7/11/2012Ah – my cue…

- 7/11/2012I am so glad that Marc Sweeney picked this wonderful lift.

- 7/11/2012Thanks, Mark, for “Watch for what you do right…‘It is God which worketh in you…’” God as Love and we as Love’s image and likeness.

- 7/11/2012Wow!

- 7/11/2012What a powerful and uplifting message.
Marc @ Leelanau & Kohahna
- 7/11/2012Thanks, Mark.

- 7/11/2012Thanks Mark.

- 7/11/2012WOW !!! what a wakeuup call! Your lift made me realized how critical I have been of the previous owners of the home my son and daughter-in-law purchased about 3 years ago. Over this time it has been necessary to replace/repair many things at considerable cost that were not apparent at the time of purchase. So, again thank you again for this DL - I shall go forward forgiving myself for not seeing the prior owner as a child of God, loving, honest, truthful and being grateful for our home and the joy and happyness we have experienced since being here.

- 7/11/2012I love the idea that God is watching for what we do right, in fact, that's all He sees! Why would we want to be looking for or seeing anything that God doesn't see. Right on, Mark, great Lift, thank you.

- 7/11/2012I really appreciate this lift

- 7/11/2012Thank you for this inspiring lift as it reminds me of my teaching experience with 3rd and 4th graders. Only when I focused on the good -then and only then, we're they inspired to even want to improve. I love also what Cynthia had to say:"God only sees the good in others so when we see the the spiritual good or the active presence of Good or Truth in everyone we see , we are seeing their Godlike identity. Thank you for that reminder

- 7/11/2012Horses don't really know any difference between amateurs and professionals.

- 7/11/2012Thank you, Mark--great lift! This quote from JB Phillips seems sooo relevant to what you said:
"The whole creation is on tiptoe to see the wonderful sight of the sons of God coming into their own." (Rom.8:19)

- 7/11/2012Hi Mark, when I worked with young children and in raising my own, I would always tell them if you don't have anything good to say about another, don't say anything at all. Even though for a while I would hear it all day long, "he called me stupid", but through active prayer even that negativity became null and void. Thank you Mark for this reminder to see not only yourself, but others as perfect.

- 7/11/2012Great lift, Mark! Straight forward, plain talk, simple and to the point. Sometimes error can attempt to move a person from the good points; indeed, all to often. This is a good point to put in ones pocket and carry around just in case one needs to get back to the path. Well said! Thanks!

- 7/11/2012Thank you for this beautiful Lift and that, it certainly was today.

- 7/11/2012Thanks Mark,
Such a good reminder to look for the real
man-- to see him as he is.
The right, thought out testimony.
The usher- with a smile and warmth that is right.
The readings-- with it's message of divine love.
As well as the music-- a sense of harmony-
coming from a harmonious princil

- 7/11/2012Many thanks Mark for that excellent lift!

- 7/11/2012Good one Robert #63.

- 7/11/2012As I was reading the comments, what came to me was what #14, Rosita, shared: "Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative...." -- that wonderful Johnny Mercer song!
And, #65, Vicky: this is from a children's book: "If you can't say anything nice, don't say it at all!" This was said by the rabbit in the book!
If we only speak and think good (God-like thoughts) nothing but good will occur in our experience....for ourselves, and for all those that we come into contact with.

- 7/11/2012Where did that negative critical thought come from, I have to ask myself sometimes. It just snuck in so quietly. Thanks for reminding me to be so alert to negativity and accept only good pure thoughts about everyone and everything. How uplifting that can be!

- 7/11/2012I like the way this has us focus on how we think God is watching.

- 7/11/2012Lee Ann - Berkeley Good Uplift to remember that judgment was actually rooted in the idea of separation of wheat and chaff to DISCERN the Good portion we want to carry on with - for whatever uses. A Grand Slam, Mark. Thanks much.

- 7/11/2012Now , becasue of my studies of Christian Sciene I have begun to see the right things I have done and it seems as though I have taken mroe responsibility for my Life.
Merri

- 7/12/2012No doubt that if you look for a problem you'll find it.

- 7/12/2012That was a complete answer to my prayers!Thank you so much for this lovely Lift. I always enjoy your writings in the Sentinal and Journal and it was a pleasure listening to you in the 'Daily Lift!. I have never been able to see how I can be looking out for my sins, and being filled with God's Radiance and Light at the same time! In other words 'off with the old and on with the new'.
Thank you.

- 7/12/2012Spot on, Mark!
