What a wonderful reminder that whatever is tempting us to believe that we can be without God, good is exactly what I needed to hear this morning.
It has lifted my thought beyond what the material senses seem to be telling me early this morning. Thank you so much.

When we wallowed in self pity we can’t see further than our noses, we soon get the feeling of loss and our lives become a fast down spiral. Someone might think, ”It’s my life, let me be”, but no, this is only a false feeling that nobody cares, not even God! If we harbor despair we also hurt everyone that REALLY cares—and we might not even know.
MBE says, “Become conscious for a single moment that Life and intelligence are purely spiritual, — neither in nor of matter, — and the body will then utter no complaints. If suffering from a belief in sickness, you will find yourself suddenly well. Sorrow is turned into joy when the body is controlled by spiritual Life, Truth, and Love. Hence the hope of the promise Jesus bestows: "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; . . . because I go unto my Father," S&H 14:12

Thank you Lorenzo, for this inspiring Lift. We had four small children at one stage, and I came out and sat in a chair and said "Father I don't have time to be sick." And the sickness was gone! Just as your prayer dispelled the fear, so was the fear threatening me - gone! And this is the whole glory of Christian Science that our prayers do have a healing effect, and often instantaneously!

Excellent ideas Lorenzo. I am discovering that weeding one's inner garden, one's daily thoughts, is far from being a one time thing. Each day there is more in the way of gardening challenges bubbling up into consciousness rather than less to deal with. And Mary Baker Eddy, through her inspired writings and various sister publications, amply provides us with the ways and the means to sort through and resolve dis-ease of every sort.

These brief but substantive Daily Lifts provide a great beginning to each week day and a perfect entree to further Christian Science study. I look forward to them with eager anticipation every time.

I, as others have stated, am so grateful for the lifts.

I had a similar experience, instant healing, this past spring. It was really quite amazing. One minute, I was hardly able to move around and the next minute, I was dusting my furniture. It was as if I never experienced a problem. It should not be surprising to see such a quick reversal, since we know the reality of our being is only expressed in health. Thank you, Lorenzo. Two words stood out to me in your lift -- "feeling" and "awareness". Knowing that God is always with us, in sickness and in health, dispels any fear that there is a resolution, a healthy one. And we know the "feeling" when the healing is manifest -- if not instantaneous, that there was any doubt that it would come, and the blessing is the "awareness" that God was always there and that His power is absolute and spontaneous as soon as we accept its all-presence and all-action.

Thank you so much Lorenzo. I have had a couple of similar experiences - sometimes we have to learn the same lesson over again. Now it seems natural to successfully challenge these things in their incipient or early stages with more confidence. Divine Love is infinite and cares for and gives beauty and strength to all.
Like Joel #10, I am happy that the Daily Lift team is on the job today and every working weekday.
It is Canada Day today and we as a country have a lot to be grateful for;
for those men and women in the military who are willing to sacrifice their lives or their own peace of mind in their efforts to bring peace and stability to the world; for our leaders who make the difficult decisions of fundings and policies; for those who pray for the unity of mankind - to "Our Father..."

Thank you Lorenzo for sharing your instantaneous healing of a cold! I had a similar healing of very strong cold symptoms. I had a realization that it was only an illusion and I admitted that right where the symptoms seemed to be was my peace, joy and harmony as a reflection of God. I didn't feel any better but I trusted and accepted that it was the Truth! I decided to go ahead and get ready for work that day instead of staying home and consenting to illness. Less than 30 minutes later as I was leaving the house I realized that all the symptoms had vanished! I felt great! The whole thing was an illusion! The really special thing is that several years later, I realized that I have never experienced another cold-and still haven't! Christian Science is pretty awesome!

I have awakened to a great realization that only God makes decisions! We can go along with them or slough along on our own for awhile but sooner or later the suffering for our supposed problems will cause us to turn toward the Truth that is God. It is our acceptance of what God wants for us that heals and transforms our days and moments without a delay.
Once when a healing seemed prolonged in coming, I was lead to stop asking God why and simply ask Him what He wanted for me. The answer came when I got quiet. "I want only good!" That stopped me in my tracks because that was what I wanted, too! It still seemed to take awhile for me to accept that, that was the healing!
If God wants only good and He is all powerful, ever present and knows all then that which we have must be all good. I turned myself around to see the spiritual view of what was present and the body answered the Truth about it by becoming stronger, more useful, my servant and not my master. What joy is possible to those who suffer long or short bouts with error. It will yield to the perfect model that God created! Blessings to all.

If I reckon correctly, we are coming up (in August?) on the 2 year anniversary of these LIfts? And I can't even really remember a time when we did NOT have their precious inspiration, and deep sense of family. My heart and soul overflow with gratitude for all involved, and for the initial listening to Mind which brought forth the idea.

Oh, the oneness we have with God is the great blessing to be felt and enjoyed
of infinite Love that is our being. I thought I might call for a C.S. treatment today and now that need has been met. Thank you for the wake up call. I can
not have anything that God does not have and he does not have pain therefore I do not pain. I have oneness with God and am free and have awareness of all that is real in the atmosphere of Love where I live and move and have my being.

Thank you Lorenzo. The Christ, Truth, that enabled Jesus to see through material symptoms to "the perfect man", and thus to restore harmony -- is ever-available to heal, in any circumstance.

A few years ago, I was speaking with a practitioner on the phone about another matter, when he began to cough, as though he had a bad cold. He immediately rebuked this suggestion, with words along the lines of: "Get out of here! You're just trying to interrupt our conversation!". We spoke for about another 1/2 hour, and there was no further sign of illness. Having frequently suffered with beliefs of long colds, not always "knowing the Truth" promptly, I have since been more alert to say "no!" when any such symptoms presented themselves, and have had good results in healing the claim of colds since that time - knowing that disease is not a valid part of me, that God did not make it, and that I don't need to let any suggestion, big or small, insinuate itself into consciousness, or "run its course".

I am working prayerfully to extend this line of defense to other areas where habits of thought would claim to admit error, or identify any illness or disorder as integral to who I am. When the fear ("false evidence, appearing real") of any seemingly chronic or habitual condition is exposed, and dismissed by Truth, restoration follows.

In Hymn #7 of the Christian Science Hymnal, Bertha Woods writes:

"... Health, hope and love in all around I see
For those who trustingly abide in Thee."

Thank you Lorenzo. Your healing brought to mind the time when I turned my ankle when stepping off the sidewalk on the way home from our first evening out after our son was born. My husband helped me to cross the street and was going to drive us home but then the thought came: "YOU DON'T HAVE TO ACCEPT THIS." I said that I would drive as usual. We had a lovely conversation on the way home and I just forgot about the ankle until I was at the top of the stairs at home. Hymn 58 from the CS Hymnal would best describe the joy we felt then and today:

When I woke this morning not feeling well,listening to today's Lift gave just the thought that was needed and I am able to fully enjoy this beautiful sunny day and celebrate our country's 144th birthday- Canada Day!

This is wonderful. I have had those instances, too, of dropping self-pity by getting out, waking up to clearer thinking, and interacting in God's world. Thank you for this great lift!

Thank you, Lorenzo. Your opening statement covers the whole ground! The right concept of God and who we really are, removes anything that wouldn't, couldn't come from the all-knowing, all good Creator of all. This fits with Josh Niles' Lift on 6-28. All wrongs, or absence from ever-present perfection and protection of our Father stems from Gen.2&3 version of “God”. In Gen.1, there's 7 evaluations of creation. Six say God saw what He created (by His word - see John 1) was good. The 7th sums up with Him seeing everything He made was VERY good. In Gen.2, there's only 1 evaluation. God says “It is not good”, speaking of what he created, man. Isa. 45:11 says, “Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.” God didn't even know what his hands were working in G.2. After he made creatures (already before man in G.1) in a continually failing attempt to make man a helpmeet, He finds out they aren't satisfactory for His purpose. He was experimenting, with no knowledge of what would be the outcome. Disassociating from this “creator” and knowing the real G.1 God, will make wrongs go away, for they never had a real origin. They don't belong to God, or creation. G-2 God didn't know what man needed until after he was made. Jesus said our Father knows our need before we ask.

Thank you for this account of the healing of the cold symptoms. It reminds me of my mother who was experiencing those symptoms and felt the need to lie down. She recounted what she thought as she regretfully went to bed (because she had numerous responsibilities and deadlines). Her thought was: "I can lay my body down, but I don't have to lay my thoughts down." In a few minutes, the symptoms disappeared, she was able to arise and continue with her duties, rejoicing in the healing she experienced.

I so appreciate your reminder that any symptoms of illness may seem to be "here now", but they were not supplied by God, and thus are truly "gone now." How profoundly simple.

I am reading this a day late, but wish to thank you, Lorenzo, for this treatment of mortal mind's insistence that we must wallow in self-pity and be so mesmerized we don't express normality for ourselves.
I always enjoy my fellow lifters follow-up comments. They bring the points home through practical examples. This is truly church in action - ALIVE!
An example I love to tell about is when I received help from my Christian Science teacher on a stubborn cold. After her strong declaration of my present perfection as God's idea, I stubbornly said that I really was sick. She ended the conversation quickly. When I hung up, I was well! So much for that state of thinking. :) This week's Lesson Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly on God covers the practitioner's needed responses clearly.

You can be healed with one interjection! Years ago the Second Reader and I were practicing for the Sunday service. I was really ill and headed for the ladies' room. The Second Reader, who had been praying, said, "Pooh!" with great spiritual force. I was healed at that moment. The lesson was clear: The likeness of Soul cannot be so-o-o unlike good.

Ah, how good is to listen to you, Lorenzo. Thanks for such a clear message that we need nowadays. I am learning to be more alert every day because it seems that everything around us suggests that 'now' there is danger, diseases, disasters, food shortages, unemployment and a whole range of junk that looks so real and yet they are just a big zero, nothing. As you point it out, we cannot suffer these things because God does not suffer them. Yes, to recognise the totality of God, good 'now', every moment, every hour, allows us to have instantaneous healing, but if it takes a bit longer, we do not despair, divine Love solves everything and we benefit as His reflection.
