4/9: What Father's smiles are thine

4/9: What Father's smiles are thine

  1. Thank you Suzanne. Your timing for that thought couldn't have been better! It so needed all the time.

  2. Suzanne, you just made me smile, and realize that God's smile is my smile, as His beloved child. Thanks, I needed that!

  3. Beautiful message on this sacred day of the resurrection. As the daughter I smile back at you.

  4. Thank you, Suzanne! I have felt Our Father's smiles at times. Thanks to your great Lift this morning, I'm going to expect those smiles at all times. I'm reminded of a conversation of long ago, about the phrase, "Spare the rod and spoil the child." It was brought out that the Shepherd uses the rod to guide, not to beat. So, my vision here (actually, it's more like a "feeling of a warm, spiritual embrace!"), is of Our Loving Father smiling and gently guiding "...for He careth..."(1 Peter 5:7) ...always - no interruption of Love...no interruption to rejoicing and being glad for uninterrupted Love - every day!!! Maybe not the world's view. But that's okay. It's about time for a better view. :-) Thanks again, for inspiring my thought.

  5. This message seems to be just at the right time, Thank You...

  6. Why repine,God smiles at us, hasn’t God chosen us to be His own image and likeness? http://bible.cc/genesis/1-26.htm Amidst daily tribulations, hypnotized by the media’s pull, we tend to forget our heredity and take it all in.
In God’s eyes each one of us is cherished, irreplaceable, “The Lord make his face shine upon thee” http://bible.cc/numbers/6-25.htm
Those who search Him are His chosen ones, “God is Love. Can we ask Him to be more? S&H 2:23

CyS 2:23

  7. On my daily seven-mile walk, I try to smile at those I meet coming the other way. Not everyone is looking, and many are hidden behind large dark sunglasses. But as the Bible declares, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him." The same is true for smiles.

  8. Suzanne, YOUR Daily Lifts are always winners! What a great message to follow the Easter weekend. Waking to our Father's all-embracing love, and our place in His spiritual creation, makes everything feel so much warmer, lighter, and more available right here, right now. We can get even the smallest hint of God's love for us when we ask a simple question, and receive the answer at once. Instead of wondering at the spontaneity of the response, think what it implies in terms of recognition, readiness and preparedness to fulfil every need and yearning. God is our Father-Mother at every moment, and there is no way we can find ourselves separated from His "care and unconditional approval."
Thank you Nathan and the team; the BoL and lecturers; and our Daily Lifters.

  9. What a powerful message...each of us needed, wanted and loved by God, a part of His plan, a part of his grand design. It takes large thinking to think in this way and that is the demand placed upon us; to value our purpose as God's purpose, to find meaning in Spirit. The way you give this message is very rich. Thank you very much. I will listen to this throughout the day. Thank you also to the responders. I find their responses just as helpful as the original uplift. Very good.

  10. Thank you Suzanne a really lovely Lift to start the week with.

In The Church of Scotland we sing this beautiful blessing after the Christening:

24The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:

25The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

26The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

  11. Great Lift, Suzanne, thanks so very much.

Nela #4, I love the reminder that the rod is used in love by our beneficent Father-Mother, not as punishment. And Robert, #7, your 7-mile daily walks must give you some great opportunities to commune with God!

Thanks for a great start to this day!

  12. Many thanks Suzanne for this joyful reminder. I too love this hymn! "Think what spirit dwells within thee;/ Think what Father's smiles are thine;" (Christian Science Hymnal #166). And a following command to all of us, "So fulfill thy holy mission,"

  13. Valuable, cherished, irreplaceable AND given unconditional approval--what more could we need?
This is beautiful!! Wonderful ideas to hold on to! Thanks for this inspiration!

  14. Thank you for that great Lift. It is always good to smile. My Mother always seemed to smile ,if she didn't my sister and I would ask her if something was wrong and she would answer 'do I always have to smile? and she would smile. It is a good habit to smile makes other people feel better. Thanks again.

  16. thank you so much...I needed to feel God's smile upon me this morning....these Daily Lifts are always just perfect...Love and Smiles as you go on your way today. xo

  17. Thanks so much! This is just what a greatly needed this morning - to feel God's smile.

  18. Thank you, Suzanne, for reminding us that we are all God's original children, irreplaceable, loved, and always smiled upon!

  19. Beautiful lift, Suzanne. Thank you.

  20. When the local Children Services Organization contacted our church for participation in prayer supporting the Presidential Proclamation of April as Child Abuse Prevention Awareness month, we jumped on board. The month culminates in Blue Sunday, April 29th. Last week, when I visited with a Children Services worker, she confirmed that they were looking for prayerful support of such children and the social workers that are involved. When I asked about the parents, weren’t they children too, children of God, she was delighted in such a refreshing view.

Suzanne, your lift is the lynch pin connecting us to what this childhood specifically means.

Posters and pinwheels in our church yard speak of child abuse prevention in support of a community program, but more importantly our prayers actively affirm the entitlements of all of God’s children.

  21. Thank you Suzanne for the reminder of Gods love as our daily renewal and for the DAILY LIFT each day as it makes the Universe much smaller when Faith is shared from every corner of the earth.

  22. I could feel the sincerity in your delivery and that was very comforting as well as your message. Thank you for reminding us of a treasured truth today.

  23. Suzanne, thank you so very much for reminding me of my worth- I forwarded your lift to my children because it was so very timely!

  24. What a perfect way to being our newly-reminded resurrection-- we are beloved. Thank you, Suzanne. You have such lovely expression; you ARE such a lovely expression!

  25. Suzanne ~~ This Lift was needed, it was a great assurance, helping me share a big

smile to others today. Loving regard/jim.

  26. Thank you Suzanne!! Perfect!

  27. A reassuing and comforting message for the begining of the week .Thank you Suzanne .

  28. Thank you.

  29. Perfect!

    Thank you, Suzanne.

And good morning all you Daily Lifters.

Truth, Wisdom, Love, and Sincerity, to All mankind.

  30. Thank you Suzanne for a clear and precious spiritually elevating thought today. It is so important and empowering to see and know that God approves of each one of us and to know that God is expressing Him/Her self in the individuality of each of us, as each of us, in one perfect brilliant creation. Today’s lift refers to Numbers 6: 24-27, a short prayer that, through God, Moses gave to Aaron and his sons, reminding and reassuring us that we were created to be, to see, and to know the face of God. Paul reminds us in 2Cor:3:18 that we can observe our transformation as we allow our own thoughts and actions each day to be transformed to better reflect God’s likeness, that we may see the face of God in ourselves and others. Paul also reminds us in 2Cor4:6 that the light and knowledge of the glory of God is in the face of Christ Jesus our exemplar. Beholding the face of God as ourselves and in others is to face the actual presence of God, to have direct first-hand knowledge of God, to be fearless and unintimidated by any suggestion of error and to know and experience the joy and reality of unlimited possibilities.

  31. God approves, and is smiling!
What a promise - and fulfillment!
    Thank you, Suzanne!

  32. Thank you, Suzanne, Lift team and commenting community. Such a tender message. May the truth of God's approval be the only influence in each of Love's offspring today, "enriching the affections of all mankind" (from The Daily Prayer by Mary Baker or Eddy) for "Love is reflected in love" (S& H 17:7 by MB Eddy).

  33. Beautiful, Thank you and thank you BoL team and associates for the Daily Lift.

  34. Wonderful ! thank you .. :-)

  35. Thank you Suzanne!

  36. ah . . . I didn't realize how much I was seeking approval, till I heard this list. How tender and touching to know that I need seek approval only from my Father . . and that He is smiling at the thought of me. Thank you, Suzanne.

  37. Thank you, Suzanne! What a beautiful thought for this beautiful day.

  38. Thank you, Suzanne. That touches the heart.

  39. Thanks, I needed that, I am on overload with projects this week--all due now! I know it is Mind that is govering these activities, not 'me'! I will be under God's smile!

  40. What a great message! Thank you, Suzanne!

  41. Smiles are catching. So if God is smiling at you, you have to smile back. ( :

  42. What a beautiful smiling Lift. This morning when I looked out the window I saw two deer on the lawn nibbling on the greening grass. As they wandered off a robin came hopping a cross the driveway. The first thought was thank you God for smiling down on me. A physical smile along with a smile in the heart infects everyone who comes in contact with it.
So, Suzanne, and all the Lift team, I smiling at you today and always.

  43. Thank you Suzanne! and # 36, just what I need to start doing...knowing that He is smiling down on me and I am cherished and irreplaceable.

  44. I am so glad to hear the real meaning of" Spare the rod and spoil the child." The shepherd's rod , even now is to gently guide, softly pressure the sheep to go in the right path, to keep them from danger and they receive that firm but gentle guidance. I notice how persistant and loving the shepherd guides his flock into the green, mountain pastures every summer and how lovingly he washes their faces and pats each little head. May we use this lesson with own little ones and see their bright smiles. Thank you Syzanne for the loving Lift today.

  45. Thank you soooooooooo much. AND like Margaret from Sunshine coast said, this is a perfect follow up to Easter weekend; hallelujah we have Easter everyday.

  46. I always feel that a smile represents God's joy shining through. Even if you are penniless, you can give a smile. And that smile, which represents God's Love, is a present given to us to be shared by others. That smile from God, to us, and then shared can uplift the world. How can we not smile when we know that God's love is ours and is blessing us every moment?

  47. How beautiful. My heart is smiling within

  48. Suzanne I loved this lift and I loved your delivery of it. It left me with a wonderful feeling of peace and feeling valued and loved. Thank you.

  49. It is good to be reminded that the smiles keep coming from their infinite source. We only need to recieve them and smile back. I've always liked Christine's line in Phantom of the Opera: "Dreaming of you won't help me to do all that you dreamed I could." And thanks again Suzanne for your recent lecture in Jacksonville, Florida.

  50. Thank you, Suzanne:

I know that the practical solutions I need will become visible today. Thanks for reminding me that I already have the Father's approval! Smiles to you!

  51. Thank you, Suzanne, for a great Daily Lift and thanks also go to all the responders.

  52. Ditto the first commenter, this couldn't come at a better time for me. Thank you.

  53. Thank you for the cheerful lift Suzanne. Like Jacob, going to reconcile with his brother, Esau, we can see our brothers and sisters, God's children, as reflecting this smiling face of God, and they are pleased with us, as we are with them. It is more than seeking human approval; it is a demonstration of the at-one-ment between God and us, between God and all of his creation.

  54. Suzanne, I FEEL the love of that message. Thank you.

  55. Today, this DL became a "Lunch Lift"! Thank you! Smile

  56. I should have listened to this BEFORE I went to the gym where everybody was a bit grumpy and I did nothing about it. Thanks so much for an important lift and for everybody's comments. As I go off to do today's errands I will certainly keep it all in my thought and actions.

  57. Thank you Suzanne... for a very timely message.

  58. To each Lifter who shares with others their thoughts and desire/assurance of spiritual progress for today, I am so grateful. The smile of the Father, to me is the spiritual reminder of our present, and forever, inheritance of direct communication and care, of inevitable victory over whatever seems difficult. God is with us, and telling us so. In fact, HE is causing every right thought and of course, approving our expression of them. It is His Allness that relieves our fears and assures us He is smiling on His own idea. We have so much to rejoice in.

  59. Such an inspiring thought to start the week! Thank you for the reminder that "God's smiles are thine"and all its tender implications. .

  60. Thank you!

  61. Oh, thank you Suzanne. Of course, God is smiling the answer!

  62. Recently, I read that a smile is the first step toward ending wars. I would enlarge on that and say that a smile is the first step towards ending every type of inharmony. A smile ltells people that they are worthy of your attention, appreciated as an individual child of God.
In particular, we muxt smile at those we meet who look as though they need to be loved.
Thank you Suzanne for this beautiful, heartfelt reminder to everyon to Keep Smiling.

  63. Thank You Suzanne for this beautiful message, God smiling on us as approval of His unconditional love. So much needed here today when we are being bombarded with popular belief about the state of the world affairs - God smiling on me today is an inspiring message that I really do belong, just where I am - living with this truth of "divine love has met and will always meet every human need" , assures me I will be guided safely !

  64. Marilyn from Idaho is #44, forgot to put it in

  65. Dear Suzanne, I think of you and your dear family often and it always makes me smile just as you have made me smile today. Hugs of love and peace, Caroll F.

  66. I am desperately in need of solutions for several problems which I experience. The bible passages Numbers.Ch6:24-26 The Lord bless thee...................( gave me some encouragement recently) However, thanks for the "lift"

  67. What a wonderful uplifting comforting and cheering thought. Thank you

  68. Thanks for reminding me of an earlier inspiration and its resulting healing. As God's idea and expression, we are each God's expression of joy. We are each God's unique smile. That evidence of love, peace, joy. That communication that cannot be blocked or misinterpreted.

Thanks, too, for the connection with the proof over the last 40 years of Marshall Rosenberg's Nonviolent Communication or Compassionate Communication ending wars, genocide, retaliation, gang violence, rapes, etc. when each individual felt truly empathically heard as crying out to have our shared human needs met, and through that understanding naturally comes our compassion and joy of helping meet the other's needs. This smile in the eye, this smiling listening attitude, this smiling response, this smile result in the other being heard and seen correctly, this smile at the relief and solutions' success.

Thanks, too, for the connection that I now can't find in MBE's writings that we can never appease mortal mind. It is mindless, loveless, truthless. We are freed of that need to argue/fight, flee, freeze, appease/please, We aren't distracted and we don't want to even try, because we feel how infinitely God is pleased with us. As we are, who we are, here and now, always.

As the loving parent can't help but smile delighted with Her/His beloved child in whom She/He is well-pleased. Or the artist, choreographer, composer, gardener, engineer, chef... is overjoyed smiling at his/her creation.

  69. A great, uplifting message, beautifully shared with us.

    Thank you!

  70. Loved the thought that"solutions will become clear".It became helpful immediately. Many, many thanks for your good work...and those who produce "The Lift".

  71. Thank you Suzanne for the lift, and thank you all for sharing comments! I love knowing that God is always guiding us, smiling at us, comforting us. I love to share smiles, and I am sharing a smile with all :-) !!!
    Beautiful day to everyone!

  72. I feel full and really Grateful when I can make someone smile. What a beautiful to know that "What Father's smiles are thine". thank you Suzanne and to everybody
    :D

  73. Oh Suzanne

How Blessed we all are to have this Science.

WE are all in His beautiful garden, unfolding in our own time and in our rightful place, working out the majestic plan He has for all of us for eternity.

    All have a wonderful adventure.

  74. I thank you so much, Suzanne, for the beautiful and inspiring lift.

  75. Thank you for that beautiful thought, reminding us all that we are divinely cared for, nurtured, supplied, and occupied as the children of God, created to carry out Her work. Thanks!

  76. Like Jacob said to Esau, that he saw his face as if it were the face of God, and he was pleased with him. It is a feeling. I recently experienced that while attending a church of another denomination and participating in their communion. The man who was holding the cup of wine which we dipped the bread in, a stranger to me, looked at me with such love, joy, tenderness, spiritual communion, depth, it was amazing. He radiated warmth and welcome to the guest so tangibly. Christly communication.

  77. Thank you for this daily lift, Suzanne. Knowing that God is loving us right now and forever, is more than comforting when I can really accept it deeply. It has made me weep with compassion for myself. Then that compassion and love spreads around all whom my thought lights upon. I am so grateful for the Christ.

  78. This was so clear and filled with confident love, I sent it to every member of my family.

  79. "The Father's smiles are thine" is so reassuring and comforting. It's like a big hug. He DOES approve of each of His children. We can stand tall! Thank you, Suzanne, for a beautifully expressed Lift.

  80. Just Lovely. Thank You!

  81. Thanks, Suzanne, and # 68 Edie from Portland.

  82. Hi, Suzanne! I have always liked this thought about the Father's smiles. Thank you for the reminder!

  83. Suzanne your heart felt Lift, it like a Prayer at the ending of a Easter weekend with our almost two years old newest member of the family where she tenderly cupped my face in her tiny hands and placed a loving kiss on my cheek.

Thanks, Tracy CK of CA for the reminder of the lovely Prayer by Mary Baker Eddy _ "for LOVE is reflected in love" (S&H 17.7 by MBE).

Thank you Lift team and commenting community.
    Blessings.
    Joan P.,NJ

  84. Similar to #10 By yon bonnie banks, the same words were our Sunday morning service closing benediction in my girlhood Church. Thank you, Suzanne, for capturing my thought with this gentle, yet at the same time strong reminder of God's love from the beginning of creation, including His purpose of having us, and His constant care. This Lift is a hug and treatment, and I needed both today. #66 Daisley, I'll add a prayer for you. I'm knowing that not only does our Father have what you need, He has what it takes to let you consciously receive the knowledge, understanding, and awareness for every moment of your day. His angels may seem silent, but they are not speechless mimes. you can and will hear them.

  85. This message goes to show that the Daily Lift is a blessing because it is God's right idea. Thank you.

  86. Thanks, ...I woke up and read emails today and also wrote on my FACEBook...I wrote about smiles...Now this is before listening to the LIFT...And Yes, the sun is shining and God is Good, and your words give substance to and expand...Thanks! J

  87. So special...thanks bunches!

  88. Thanks for this wonderful lift. The Father’s smiles tell us—how valuable and irreplaceable—our approval rating in God’s eyes is unconditional. And thank you #68 Edie “…that we can never appease mortal mind. It is mindless, loveless, truthless. We are freed of that need to argue/fight, flee, freeze, appease/please, We aren't distracted and we don't want to even try, because we feel how infinitely God is pleased with us. As we are, who we are, here and now, always."

  89. Your loving, comforting message of hope is very much appreciated. Knowing that we ARE valuable, needed, necessary and part of the spiritual, original, fabric of Life!!

  90. What a comforting message to all mankind! Whoever listens, feels the blessing of a little more spiritual understanding, simple, peaceful and full of Life, Truth and Love. Thanks Suzanne.

    español

¡Qué mensaje de consuelo para toda la humanidad! Quienquiera que escucha, siente la bendición de un poco más entendimiento espiritual, simple, pacífico y lleno de Vida, Verdad y Amor. Gracias Suzanne.

  91. Many thanks and will try to share as much as possible.
Wendy Duffy from Perth, Western Australia

  92. This message contains at least three different elevating layers. It is so rich and full of meaning, application, promise, and most of all, God's love shining through. I've been listening to it and pondering each thought for two days, and will return. Thank you.

  93. Thank you Suzanne. I missed listening to the lifts for a few days..and found your talk serendipitous to my comment from yesterday's Lift.....Smiles every which way! It's certainly what the world needs now, more than ever. Greetings and Love to all the C.S. folk.

  94. As always, Suzanne, right to the heart of the issue....never separated, so forever and always smiled upon....even when the picture presented is the opposite, I can think of how God smiles upon us all. Thank you.

  95. Thank you Suzanne, this lift is so timely, a reminder I did need to hear to help me get started again on a book I have been trying to complete.

  96. Thanks everyone and especially #76 as your description of your encounter with another Christian was so powerful. This weekend I am helping to facilitate an inter- faith event and I will look for the Christ expressed in others. "I am the place where God shines through for He and I are one not two." This is a thought I like to stay with and I have taught my grandchildren.

  97. Thank you for this clear truth. We are never left out of God's plans for us and all of the Universe moves in a forward progression. It is like Spring and Nature. Its resplendent power of renewal cannot be stopped. God loves each and every one of us. I have felt unloved, unpurposeful many times over the years and I think I have kicked that bad habit! Not easy, but with great effort and constant alertness, God has great treasures for us all. Thanks again.
