We know little of the future, even of the near future, but we are always imagining the worse. http://bible.cc/2corinthians/10-5.htm
Our ignorance and fears predict catastrophes of any kind, we are always pretending to know what will come. Don't we know that God is always on the side of His own image and likeness?
I remember as I was growing up in Buenos Aires people would say that someday will snow and we all freeze to death. It didn’t snow for 90 years, and in ’07 when it did, everybody just loved it!
Maybe Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa remembered Wendell Phillips powerful words when on his fight against racial segregation and apartheid said, "Don't give up, don't get discouraged, I've read the end of the book, we win!" As a man of God he knew that one with God is majority and that with Truth and Love: we always win.

Wonderful - I love the "I've read the end of the book - we win"!!! How I shall endeavour to keep that when times seem challenging! Spring is definitely in this small corner that is 'forever England', with the promise of new abundant life, flowers, trees bursting with buds, the evidence of God's continuing unfoldment of ideas. I loved the music, please please when can we hear and share the whole album / download it / purchase it....???It sings with such joy,it is so memorable and inspires me to dance...many thanks for today's Lift, the BOL and Nate and friends for their continued commitment to the daily joy and contact amongst our global movement.

Maryl this is a really great Lift. Love always must win, even though sometimes it seems to take forever, and at other times it's in the simple act of turning to God. Many of us speak with feeling about the apatheid in South Africa, but there was a great need for a similar kind of healing in the Christian Science movement. Looking back to all the places and people who were freed as a result of that "good fight" the outcome certainly didn't seem to be inevitable. Yet apatheid came to an end. The Australian Government said "Sorry" for the past. The Berlin Wall came down. Tyrants and dishonest leaders came to their end. 74 Countries are now living in peace. In the middle of a hot day who remembers the snow outside the door?
Thank you to Nate and his crew and all the Lifters who give of their "heart's rich overflow."

Thank you so much for this lift, Maryl. As I pray today and everyday for the Middle East, I'm going to include the pure, simple fact that "Love always wins" as a part of every prayer. It's so reassuring. It reminds me who and what it is that's doing the liberating. Divine Love is. And that's precisely why ultimately there must be a good end. Until Love prevails, Love isn't finished. "Love always wins." Again, many thanks.

Oh, thank you, Maryl! To paraphrase a bit of what Mrs. Eddy says, it's only our sense material that sees loss, sadness, etc. Outside of this, all is harmony! I've read the end of the book, and we win! We should start in our prayer where we would end! Yes, it is true, God is upholding His perfect creation. We've had lots of snow here in our mountains this winter and spring. We had almost a foot on the first day of spring! I always marvel at how the daffodils and pansies just spring right back up even after having been snowed on. They were always there, expressing their beauty, even under the snow and so we, God's perfect ideas, are also His beautiful expressions that cannot be destroyed because Love can't be destroyed. Thanks for the inspiration today everyone!

Thank you! What an uplifting thought for today! I am reminded of the how we can't always see the progress that's going on in the seemingly dormant garden. But all the while plants are getting ready to bud and blossom unseen by the human eye. So even if there doesn't seem to be any progress, we can trust that Truth and Love are still going on and will bud and blossom in healing-its inevitable!

Yes, we are winners, because Moses' affirmation (and demonstration) of the power of God is as relevant (and true) for us today as it was for the children of Israel: "Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to-day:" (Ex. 14:13).

Like Desmond Tutu, we too know the end of the story.
We got 12 inches of snow on Saturday, but the robins and thrush who have returned from the south -- they know that spring wins over winter! And they are right. Sun melts snow. Light wins over darkness. God is the power, not the coldness of fear, sickness, sadness. LOVE does win. God is Love.

A talented young executive had been earmarked as good upper management material and was given a project to oversee to develop his skills. Unfortunately he made a mistake that cost the company $500,000 and was quickly summoned to the CEO’s office. Before the CEO could speak, the exec said,” Well, I guess you’re going to fire me?” The CEO replied, “Fire you! It just cost me half a million dollars to train you.”
Apparently the CEO could see past the immediate problem all the way to the end results. The incident provided valuable experience. When we apply honest, spiritual efforts to an endeavor, but are initially unsuccessful, that’s not the time to give up or cast something away. Mrs. Eddy reminds us, “Sorrow has its reward. It never leaves us where it found us.” (66:30-31).
To win someone over, is to convince, persuade, convert, bring around, gain somebody's support, get somebody on your side, charm* (I love the charming bit). It is not destructive or confrontational.
Love does win others over to the side of Truth and as it changes them, it also changes us.
Enfoldment clasps or holds things to the same basis
Unfoldment opens things up to a new perspective
Enfoldment is the way things seem today
Unfoldment is progress and comes in steps that we must follow.

Thanks for the wonderful Lift. Let me ask a question. What if it is not a question of winning or losing? What if there is no twoness? For example.I live in a ski resort town. People here can't wait for the first snow in the Fall. There are 3 ski resorts and a Winter Olympic Park here. Two of the resorts close next week, the third a little later. But resorts in another canyon nearby stay open maybe until June. We feel like we are winning everytime it snows. Not only is it a source of income to resorts, lodges and restaurants, but it is beautiful. It provides needed water to the valley farms and our rivers fill with water the fishermen love to fish in. I guess my point is that Winter thoughts of gloom are not able to displace true joy. Yes I am rejoicing at the thoughts of Spring. But I have rejoiced all Winter.
PS. Our Spring is called "Mud Season"!

Thanks to #75. Marilyn of Park City, Utah for the thought of “twoness” re: snow. If Love is Love, there is nothing more to add to that. Some Love can’t be good and other bad. Snow is an idea of God and its spiritual qualities can’t be harmful, useless or even destructive to some, while beneficial to others. Our job is not to see the material aspects of snow, but the spiritual ones. This puts snow in its rightful place at its rightful time.
The most memorable family picnic I ever had was on a rainy day. Instead of calling off the event or going out into the weather, we invited everyone over to our house, spread blankets on the living room floor, set out the food and enjoyed the company while watching lightening through the windows and having all the comforts of home with the excitement of a reunion. We never would have done that without the rain and it precipitated an annual event for us.
Love will find a way to demonstrate its purpose when we get personal sense out of the equation.

What an encouraging outlook this lift gives to any situation. Hold thought to the enduring good and true and you will bring these into your experience in proportion to the occupancy of your thought. This is probably not an exact quote from Mrs. Eddy, but almost, smile.

Thank you Maryl. This fits with yesterday's “reliable now”, by Mr. Talcott. My #91 post there spoke of Eccl.3:15. Later, it grew in my understanding. I saw “that which is to be hath already been” had to be true, because if God, Mind, just sort of planned ahead, but left details to be worked out for good as it later approached the now, it would mean there's “time” when God doesn't know all there is to be known. That wouldn't be all knowing Mind. When, described in Genesis “God said...” and it was done, then all of whatever is yet to be unfolded to us, has already been done. It's in the beginning of the book, too! The best analogy I can give is like an onion or flower bulb. All it's future growth is already there contained in the small bulb. I'm glad Mrs. Eddy chose to reveal God to us with synonyms that covered special characteristics and results from our Father. Mind alone could seem formidable in light of personal and world events. Mind, as Love, enlightens our understanding and expectation of future good outcomes, no matter what the situation is. This conclusion fits also a comment made late yesterday by #87 Michael, on “never” the opposite of “Now”. He questioned anyone wishing to live in “Never-Never Land”. That inspired me (another thanks to him). Dictionary “never”: “not ever”, so we live in Ever-Ever Land. That's Eternity! . Your Lift states a scientific fact, in eternity, including now, Love (always) wins. I thank your son, too. #82 Parent, thanks for S&H pg. vii.

75 Marilyn, I had my comment above already written, so hope they let me add this one. “Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need.” (S&H 494: 10, read the rest of the paragraph, too). That answers your question. Even when there seems to be opposite needs, if both legitimate, God can manage to fulfill individually. Between the “boom” times, we need to open thought to see fresh ways to receive His blessings. God is God 12 months a year. I recently shared saying this to a friend years ago in a time of ordinary financial drought for her craft business. Within minutes, she got a call that led to greater sales that day, and opportunity for immediate business on a continuing basis. That is the same God in Utah, He is not seasonal. Also read S&H 200: 9 to the semi-colon. This suggests there are more ways than snow to bless your community. Maryl isn't off the mark even for your area. Love wins, always. It has to, because God IS. #87 Robert, Prayers and love for you in the passing of your father. I'm sorry we're missing a friend. Thanks for sharing that with us.

Thanks Maryl for the wonderful message - and a heartfelt thanks to the all the "lifters". The winter has been challenging here in the Northstate of California too. After reading all the comments and the lift, the only thing I can think of is hope springs eternal! Loving to love every moment - no matter what the senses are telling me. (-:

Thank you so much for this uplifting and reassuring lift. It is so wonderful to know that God, good does always win. As we saw in last week's lesson with David and Goliath, no matter how much larger than life and scary error tries to appear, the simplicity of Truth and Love topple and destroy it. I am so grateful to be able to study and utilize this wonderful Science of Christianity!

This is a wonderful reminder not to give in to discouragement -- of any kind. Facing anger, hurt, disasters or sickness, we must hold on to the understanding that indeed, Love wins; even if, to material sense it appears otherwise -- the 'work' is going on... And the winner is: Health,Safety, Justice, Equality, Life Truth, Love -- all the expressions/blessings of God!
Many thanks to you Maryl and to the D.L. production team. I am truly grateful for all the inspiration gained daily from this page.

I join #98 J.S. in sending warm-spring-summer-autumn-winter blessings to #87 Robert. We loved having your father participate in these family lifts, where all are welcome and all are one. Yes, we will continue to think of him fondly. And we hope you will continue to stick around and share the ideas that Love UNfolds (see #69 Michael) to you!
Today my overflowing love goes to not only all the lifters but to the fishes who #75 Marilyn mentioned. They remind me of the little swimming fellow-beings who Mary Baker Eddy fed with unselfed Love and appreciated as expressions of active Life.

Thank you to all for such inspiring thoughts and to Meryl for sharing the sweet statement that her son made about Spring always winning. This lift is all about believing without seeing! Just like the daffodills that return as if on God's command, we can have courage to believe that whatever we need at any given time will be unfolded to us in due time, at the appointed time. This brings to mind the verse from "The Rose": When the night has been too lonely, and the road has been too long, And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong, Just remember in the winter, far beneath the bitter snow, Lies the seed that with the sun's love, In the spring becomes The Rose."

Thank you Maryl. In the Bible there are so many passages that say "yield not to discouragement" and you shared the reason why - "because Love wins." Bless the Truth from your child - "Spring always wins" what a truth.

Thank you for these ideas! Thinking in this way can transform the entirety of a challenge, eliminating even stress and fear completely. There is no need to worry when we know that God's allness is always both the premise and conclusion. I am going to apply these ideas now and every day! Thank you so much for the inspiration.

Michael (number 69) THANKU for that remarkably healing comment. What a way to view both mistakes and winning!! Competition never appealed to me due to its negative aspects but you dissolved that sense of 2 opposing/clashing sides ; only one Truth that wins over error's dissenting voice as Spring's sunbeams dissolve Winter's icicles. Can we ever be afraid of making mistakes after this clear, spiritual insight!! This has healed me. Divine Love has "won me over"! ;-)

- 4/5/2011We know little of the future, even of the near future, but we are always imagining the worse. http://bible.cc/2corinthians/10-5.htm

- 4/5/2011Maryl this is a really great Lift.

- 4/5/2011Thank you so much for this lift, Maryl.

- 4/5/2011Vacations can tie you over to the inevitable Spring. I don’t ski, but I imagine that ski-lifts are a wonderful place for skiers. Ah Hah! You got it. Daily Lifts!
I took a little vacation already this morning with this. “Progress is spiritual. Progress is the maturing conception of divine Love; it demonstrates the scientific, sinless life of man…” My 181:8 The rest of the paragraph was very good.

- 4/5/2011I've read the end of the book, and we win! We should start in our prayer where we would end! Yes, it is true, God is upholding His perfect creation. - 4/5/2011We've had lots of snow here in our mountains this winter and spring.

- 4/5/2011Thank you! What an uplifting thought for today! I am reminded of the how we can't always see the progress that's going on in the seemingly dormant garden.

- 4/5/2011A talented young executive had been earmarked as good upper management material and was given a project to oversee to develop his skills.

- 4/5/2011Thanks for the wonderful Lift.

- 4/5/2011Thank you Maryl,
Yes the Truth and Love do win. Hope and substance and Spring win as well. The end of the book read(by Bishop Tutu and all followers of Christ Jesus) is the same as the lightening beginning of Science and Health(by Mrs. Eddy), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings".

- 4/5/2011Great up-lift for a chilly rainy spring day . Yes, looking back over the years I can really see/know Love always wins and that gives me the incentive to go forward with a confident, grateful and happy heart.

- 4/5/2011Very early this a.m. was thinking about how to resolve a very uncomfortable situation - - and this is the perfect answer, Love always does the resolving. Thank you so much Maryl!

- 4/5/2011Thanks. My usual routine is to listen at least twice to the latest podcast and then postings as they appear until the next podcast. My father used to listen every day at the end of his life. He told me he thought it was good
Keep up the good changes, too..

- 4/5/2011What a wonderful uplift this is! Little children have a way with words and simplicity. Whatever hate we face, Love wins, whatever lies we see or hear, Truth wins. I like the direct way you bring Truth in action. Loved the humor at the end, particularly since I always read the end of my books :) - "Hold your ground, don't give up, don't get discouraged, I've read the end of the book! We win!!"
Dennis
- 4/5/2011This reminds me of something I heard a Bible teacher say. "I have read the last chapter of the book of Revelation, and we win!"

- 4/5/2011Thanks to #75.

- 4/5/2011What an encouraging outlook this lift gives to any situation. Hold thought to the enduring good and true and you will bring these into your experience in proportion to the occupancy of your thought. This is probably not an exact quote from Mrs. Eddy, but almost, smile.

- 4/5/2011Thank you Maryl. #82 Parent, thanks for S&H pg. vii.

- 4/5/201175 Marilyn, I had my comment above already written, so hope they let me add this one.

- 4/5/2011Thanks Maryl for the wonderful message - and a heartfelt thanks to the all the "lifters". The winter has been challenging here in the Northstate of California too. After reading all the comments and the lift, the only thing I can think of is hope springs eternal! Loving to love every moment - no matter what the senses are telling me. (-:

- 4/5/2011Thank you so much for this uplifting and reassuring lift.

- 4/5/2011This is a wonderful reminder not to give in to discouragement -- of any kind.

- 4/5/2011Love wins indeed. Loved the comment from Desomnd Tutu. What a great message- we have read the book and we know we win. Thanks for the smile.

- 4/5/2011Maryl I really needed to hear this "Lift" today! Thank you very much. Truth and Love always win..." Truth is always the victor." S&H 379:33 Mary Baker Eddy

- 4/5/2011Shall share this at our branch church testimony meeting tomorrow evening. This Lift is a beautiful companion to your other recent one (was it titled "A simple treatment"?) That also brought much healing to our congregation, and beyond.
Dear Maryl Walters, thank you.

- 4/5/2011I join #98 J.S. in sending warm-spring-summer-autumn-winter blessings to #87 Robert.

- 4/5/2011Thank you to all for such inspiring thoughts and to Meryl for sharing the sweet statement that her son made about Spring always winning.

- 4/5/2011I loved the comment from Judy #34:
Until Love prevails, Love isn’t finished. “Love always wins.”
Beautiful! Thanks!

- 4/5/2011Thank you Maryl. In the Bible there are so many passages that say "yield not to discouragement" and you shared the reason why - "because Love wins." Bless the Truth from your child - "Spring always wins" what a truth.

- 4/6/2011Thank you, Maryl, for today's message. It was so uplifting for me." Win, Win" was even the title of the movie I chose to see today.

- 4/7/2011Thank you for these ideas! Thinking in this way can transform the entirety of a challenge, eliminating even stress and fear completely. There is no need to worry when we know that God's allness is always both the premise and conclusion. I am going to apply these ideas now and every day! Thank you so much for the inspiration.

- 4/8/2011Michael (number 69) THANKU for that remarkably healing comment. Divine Love has "won me over"! ;-)
