2/19: God is speaking to you

2/19: God is speaking to you

  1. Is easy to think, “God doesn’t have time for my problems“, how much grief would we have saved if we only trusted our loving Father-Mother will work His/Her purpose out!

Believe me, it always works... but God’s way, not ours!

In fact, most of the time our patience ends before we learn to let God work on our lives.
I found out that as soon as I release all responsibility concerning whatever troubles me, then God’s work is shown in my life...with pomp and circumstance...then I can finally say:
Thy work is done, thank you, Father!

  2. Thank you Evan for this important Lift. When we turn from human will and listen to God our way is made perfect. Mrs. Eddy always instructed her students to be good listeners. As we humbly listen for God's guidance it is wise to remember her words, "Organization and time have nothing to do with Life." (Science and Health, page 249)

  3. Thank you Evan.I have learnt to always trust in God's good timing,to watch and pray and listen for that still small voice. Once the right decision has been made ,such a calm atmosphere is felt.God is with us.

  4. Thanks so much for this lift. For me the greatest challenge is exressing the patience needed to wait for God's answer and not making my move before that time. Of course, patience itself is a gift from God. I'm learning that. It is an on-going lesson.

  5. Our forever Pastor Emeritus gives, " Already you have advanced from the audible to the inaudible prayer; . . . Of this abounding and abiding spiritual understanding the prophet Isaiah said, 'And I will bring the blind by the way that they knew not; and I will lead them in paths that they knew not; I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.' "
(A Word to the Wise, from The First Church of Christ, Scientist and Miscellany, pages 139-140.)

  6. Thanks Evan. An excrellent example of this week's Golden Text from Proverbs 3:5,6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths

  7. Very beautiful, thank you Evan!

  8. Lovely message, Evan. My experiences have been small but effective. When waiting for something to be revealed which I can't find, I turn everything over to God and listen. It works every time; not right away but the answer always comes and it is from God.

  9. Sometimes somebody is waiting for a call and goes and checks, if the phone and the line are working. I do the same nowadays, when I don't hear the angels talking to me or I don't hear answer to my questions. Then I ask my self, what is it that God has prepared for me. God knows what we need, before we ask for it. I might be willing something that, is not meant to be (yet). It's hard to trust God's plan and timing, while I am thinking there is nothing wrong about my wish. Somehow I have to keep studying the daily prayer: ..."Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven..." to see what God is giving to me and put on a side my own will. Sometimes it takes longer to understand God's lesson.

  10. Many thanks Evan for this great reminder. "To be filled with overwhelming peace." "God [divine Love] is with me, and His presence/ Shall my perfect guidance be,/ Till my heart that peace inherit/ God alone can give to me." (Christian Science Hymnal #81).

  11. Evan,
    Thank you

  12. I'm deeply grateful for this Lift and the example shared. There are no limits. God knows our need even prior our asking.
Thank you for the change in music too for it seems pleasant and professional to me.

  13. This is exactly what I needed to hear at this moment. Thank you Evan for your very timely message!

  14. I am so grateful to you for this Lift, as I am now in the position that you were then, when you waited patiently for God's direction, for however long it seemed to take. There isn't a moment when God is
not directing us but often that direction is "Peace, be still", when the human mind is demanding to
'see some action'. Then comes the equally peaceful command to move and the harmonious unfolding of good continues, uninterrupted by the human scene. Thank you to all the Daily Lift Community for sharing the refined gold of their lessons learnt, true riches.

  15. Thank you Evan. Your "Lift" reminded me of a similar occasion of yearning for a God spoken answer to an employer's request for me to move back to my home town. I exercised prayer daily for a clear answer. Then one morning while driving to work the "still small voice" spoke that all benefit was for just one party, rather than balanced between the two parties. I declined without ever again wondering about His counsel. I have been more alert to listen and follow divine Mind's voice ever since. That was 46 years ago. There is always a blessing for listening and following.

  16. Thanks just what I needed to hear.

  17. Thanks Evan

  18. Thanks so much for this powerful message. A huge help for me today!

  19. Thank you Evan.

  20. Thank you for this great reminder. I .will Listen

  21. Thanks for the encouragement

    Muchas gracias Evan,

  23. Thank you Evan for this important reminder to listen and listen... and listen for divine directions. Mrs. Eddy wrote:
    Hymn 304:1

I will listen for Thy voice,
    Lest my footsteps stray;

I have found over the years that by listening to God's voice my life has unfolded harmoniously and I realise that I have been listening to the angel messages of His voice and that voice was not only the voice of Truth, it is the only truly eternal sound that has ever been made.

We do not hear this divine voice as the sound made by human vocal cords, but as the certainty of what action to take.

I like to think of my voice as the reflection of the voice of God and when I consider the promise which god gave to Moses, I know who is in control:

    Ex 4:11,12

11 And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth .... have not I the Lord?
12 Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

  24. Muchas gracias, en la leccion de la semana pasada en Job 36:24 dice: Quien es Maestro como El?

El Maestro esta ayudando a toda la humanidad a reconocer su verdadera identidad.

    Muchas gracias, otra vez

  25. Thank you Evan! I, too, really needed to hear this message today. My husband has been out of work since last summer and several times over the past 5 years. His mother has been helping us out financially and now her funds are depleted. It is hard sometimes not to be impatient. Thank you to Eleanor, #14. I will be still and wait for that voice from behind to speak. Now is the time for me to be humble and trustful in my daily walk and conversation with God. I am so grateful how God meets so many needs through this Daily Lift. Thank you all for your inspiring thoughts!

  26. Dear Evan, this podcast is one of the best ever, just exactly and I really mean exactly, the inspiration, encouragement and proof I needed. I have alsways loved that Bible passage.
    Best wishes

  27. Dear Evan, that´s all and exactly what I needed to hear today !
Thank you, God spoke to me through your words :)

  28. I too have had an experience where waiting for God's timing was proved to be just perfect. I was praying my way through a family situation. God kept me from saying anything until the other party was finally ready to admit that something was wrong. But if I had waited longer the situation might have gone past an easy solution. As the Lift points out, Gods direction is always clear, but sometimes requires patient waiting before we hear it.

  29. Oh! What a beautiful DL! and I loved the comments too. Each and every one. It reminded me of what Mrs Eddy says in Miscellaneous Writings, about Angels: ..."and if you wait, never doubting, you will have all you need, every moment." We should keep praying and waiting and we will certainly listen to what God has to tell us, and it will be the right course to take.

  30. thank you evan

  31. Yes, patience and humility in waiting for God's plan to unfold, is a big challenge! Thank you for sharing your experience, Evan,, in waiting patiently----and listening for God's direction. I am in the middle of doing exactly the same thing right now, for a different issue. I keep holding onto Mrs. Eddy's words, "Shepherd, show me how to go ... ". I know that God's plan is in place, and no amount of human willing or wishing will put it into play. Divine Mind is guiding, and I must be quiet and trusting in order to follow the unfolding of each step along the way.

  32. Your persevering trust was key! You confirmed some weak knees with that!
I like that you didn't stick a must hear by date on your prayer.

Last week's Bible lesson still rings in my ears, "I will call upon Thee: for Thou wilt answer me." Ps: 86.
"It is good tht a man shld both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord." Isa: 82.
Hearing these truths never gets old. Thank you, Evan.

    .

  33. Evan, thank you for the great lift. It is so true that we must listen always for God's direction, and then act on that direction. Thanks again.

  34. A perfect reminder of what i need to do, hour by hour - thanks Evan, I always love your matter of fact Lifts!

  35. If we think of ears as symbolic of “spiritual understanding” S&H 585:1, we appreciate what Jesus was saying “He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.” (reported in Mathew, Mark, and Luke). I sort of think of this as “If you are ready to listen, then hear this!”

Not that horses hold ALL the answers to eternal life,:) but here is something interesting. My mentor was a man who lived and breathed horses. He never married, had no children… horses, horses, horses. When he worked with the horses, you rarely heard anything. He spoke softly, even when the horse was panicked or confused. It never took very long for the horses to turn their attention to him in trust and for guidance. I was always amazed at this. He was always confident that they wanted to do right, but just needed to know how. In his solitary purpose of helping horses, he reflected the understanding of divine Love.

Like the horses, we may feel unsure and look everywhere for release. Then, turning to the quiet One, we are patiently led to do right also. The timing is always perfect because we are ready to listen.

Great Lift! Great comments... look forward to coming back later for more bonus comments! Thank you all.

  36. So very true. I'm learning that when I let go of agitated thoughts( obviously NOT from God), and remember how God has always cared for me, I feel at peace, relaxed, confident that God's care is eternal and appears in exactly the form I need. Ahhhhhhh......

  37. Evan, thank you for sharing these truths. And thank you, Nancy from Yellow Springs, for your comment about "ears." I am waiting for 3 "long-ears" (donkeys) to make up their minds to load into a trailer for travel to their new home, as I can no longer keep them. I've been so back and forth about what my role should be in helping them determine it is safe to load. This lift reminds me that I can be patient and trust that God is not only speaking to me about what I should do, but He is also caring for the donkeys -they, too, can "hear" Love's call to safety and home.

  38. Wonderful message and wonderful comments...thank you!

  39. Mary Baker Eddy gives, "According to my calendar, God's time and mortal's differ." [Miscellaneous Writings, page 117.] "The neophyte is inclined to be too fast or too slow: he works somewhat in the dark; and, sometimes out of season, he would replenish his lamp at the midnight hour and borrow oil of the more provident watcher. God is the fountain of light, and He illumines one's way when one is obedient. The disobedient make their moves before God makes His, or make them too late to follow Him. Be sure that God directs your way; then, hasten to follow under every circumstance." Young people today would not comprehend that we had to kick start motorcycles like Vincent Black Lightning, 1952. (nope, no keys in those days folks, despite what you hear.)

  40. Thank you, Evan, for such an inspiring message. There is a little poem I just love "Be still" by Georgiana Lieder Lahr (Sentinel, January 30, 1989) which starts "I pray the sweet words "Peace, be still" To calm the storms of human will;" Sometimes human will can certainly be strong and try to influence me. But one of my favorite quotes from Proverbs, which is in this week's Golden Text always comes to my rescue, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Trusting in God with all my heart, not just part of it, always directs me in the right path to follow. I am so deeply grateful to have Christian Science as a firm foundation for my life wherever I go.

  41. RE: ( “Today’s UPlift” :-)

Thank you, Evan, for “God is speaking to you … promise from ... Isaiah … ‘Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, this is the way you should go, whether to the right or to the left’ … pray and wait and listen … and then … a clear directive … ‘Now is the time’ … instantly obedient … immediate action … everything (falls) into place … God’s timing … is perfect …”

What a testimony! I’ve “been there!” – sometimes listening and sometimes not. In my acquired appreciation for the value of listening, I’ve been practicing prayer as a one-way communication with “God speaking” to my willingness, through whatever other thoughts are coming to mind. Requirement? Willingness, patience, and obedience. Reward? Proving “God with us” through “signs following.”

As I’ve been learning better through practice, to see through the matter-based appearing and BEHOLD the perfect man, so I’m practicing to hear through the matter-based chatter and HARKEN to God’s perfect plan. It’s tempting to not wait and to instead get into a “do-it-yourself” mode; but, I’ve learned through trial and triumph that God’s perfect plan is way better than anything I’ve ever come up with. By yielding my human to God’s divine, I and everyone concerned is blessed. So, I’m really working on patience and obedience and trust in God’s timing. And after all, discipline is a necessary part of discipleship! Yes? :-)

Thanks again, Evan and all, for your insights and inspiration.

  42. this is so true.let God lead the way.To answer our prayers in His time. Not ours.He always knows when the time is right!
    thank you Evan.

  43. Thank you so much for this wonderful message. It reminded me of a poem that was shared by a camp counselor years ago. It is titled:

    Ready for the go-ahead:

    When I was four
They let me ride upon a horse,
    But held the reins.
    I wondered why.
Even though I felt grown-up inside,
A wiser parent protected me from harm.

    It's that way still:
    God holds the reins
And will not let me go in paths
    Before their time.
    Now, instead of questioning why,
I'm patiently preparing for the go-ahead.

  44. "Patient, wait the brigher morrow; fatihful heed the Father's voice," hymn 263. Thanks Evan and everyone who has shared their comments. So appreciated.

  45. Thank you for the very reassuring Lift today.

  46. Thanks Evan, that was so apropos...

    Scott

  47. I had to laugh at #9's comment about checking the phone (or angel's) line to see if it working. Been there, done that. There was a Sentinel article years ago about patience. There was a line in there that said that I will be patient, but God, just tell me how long I have to be patient.
Every day these comments are wonderful additions to the inspiring message fromt the lecturer.

  48. And sometimes the direction is something I had been reluctant to follow. The need to downsize: to get rid of books, collections, the accumulations of the past and other lives. Suddenly someone very appropriate comes to thought and they are the grateful recipient of wonderful gifts. Trimming the load, we call it, and it does need to be done. Not recklessly, but the right treasures to someone trusted and worthy.
Is that a name change Nathan - to Uplift? Many thanks to the production team - Shannon keeping watch all night; the BoL and lecturers; and our wonderful Daily Lifters.

  49. I know all of you have heard the next ...
God does not know time but His timing is PERFECT!

  50. Thanks Evan. I discovered this truth about twenty years ago through Christian Science and have been using it ever since. It does relieve one of the anxiety and frustrations of today.Watch, Listen.

  51. Oh Boy, how encouraging, Evan! Thank you! This Lift gives me Hope to never give up. Just keep waiting and praying until a clear directive comes forth. "......and more will be Revealed......" (A 12-Step Program saying) God's speaking to me is a revealing in consciousness of what's always and forever been true. God's voice is Ideas, but sometimes I have actually heard a real "sound-voice" when I really needed help.....God's voice came through in the way I needed to hear it. Sometimes, "being still" is movement. Not taking action IS an action. Love this Lift! Wonderful comments and sharing, too!

  52. Once again, the perfect Daily Lift for this day . . . God's timing IS perfect . . . thank you, Evan, and ALL the readers - the comments are always as enlightening as the Lift . .. and now off to practice "patience" and listening for the small voice . .

  53. Thank you. I realize that I need to stop!!! and start listening when God is speaking. Thank you for your help.

  54. Thank you, Evan. Like Noah, we can pray, listen, be obedient and be safe, doing God's will.

  55. Thank you Evan. A good reminder to stop and listen. Whenever I get ahead of God's answer I stop and remind myself to "Be still and know that I am God" (from Psalms) and let go of my ideas. The ones that come are so much better than my planning.
Thanks Nate and all your team for bringing us these daily prayers.

  56. thank you Evan, so good to be reminded, just to be still and pray and wait and listen. God always answers.

  57. I am always thinking Proverbs 3: Verses 5&6 when I am in doubt as to how to proceed. Only when I do this, the right decision comes. Oh! before C/S came into my life, I had trouble making decisions. God led me to the best marriage, the best apartment, the best son, his marriage, the best College for him. All I had to pay was his textbooks. God led both my son and I to the best employment. It will take more space to jot down all the pluses in my life by leaning on God alone and not on human opinions. The way God speaks to me is by just feeling that this is the right way to go.
    By TOBIAS A. WEISSMAN

  58. Thank you so much, Evan, for this perfect Lift.
The timing couldn't have been more perfect! :-)

  59. These daily lifts are a wonderful preparation for prayer......they sort of "soften" my thought and make me feel joyful and receptive......thanks for the lift and all the wonderful comments today.

  60. Thank you Evan!
And I can sure relate to many of the comments too -- like #9 Pat.
And I think your message is like Mary Baker Eddy says in Science and Health
"PAUSE-- WAIT on God-- then ... onward..."

  61. This uplift is perfect timing for me and has reassured me that listening for God's direction with upmost patience is the message that I honor the most. It is God's will and not my will that I know and will cherish forever. Thank you, Evan.

  62. Thank you so much. I know I have heard God's voice when I really needed it. I heard it before I discovered Christian Science and it preserved my life. Thanks for the reminder. I thank Mary Baker Eddy for making my experiences understandable and scientific. Thank you to all who continue in this way.
    Deeply grateful.

  63. Thank you so much,Evan.
Some time ago,I received direction which I felt came from God and gave me peace.Yet the next morning,I became a little unsure and just said to God,"You know Father, how I need reassurance," and oh my,in short order it came.Definitely! How my heart did sing! And I remember the time with huge gratitude.

  64. 37 - donkeys are related to cats, I am sure. Think herding cats into a box....yet, they put themselves into boxes all the time. I have prayed around a donkey many times and find that they are pretty generous as they feel free to make the right decision. There is no battle of wills, ever. Inspiration will come to you and your three friends because you are rising above argument. Yeah, those are ears for listening!

  65. I appreciate this so much - as I am right now - going through what you so graciously shared with us here today. I have not "seen" the end of it yet, but know that God has it all figured out for all involved and the peace and patience that is necessary for me to feel is here and genuine.

  66. Thank you so much for this lift! I learn from all the comments following the intro from the lecturer and all is very helpful!

  67. Thank you! A very comforting thought and listening "only" to God, we can be assured that all will be well!

  68. Thank you Evan very much,
    Hannelore

  69. Thank you, Evan. A very helpful reminder!

  70. Thanks so much, Evan and all the "watchers".

  71. Thank you Evan, it is uplifsizstompnnl
    ting and inspirational.

  72. Thank you.

  73. Thanks, most of the time we are overwhelmed by human advice which is always unsatisfying.

  74. Thank you so much Evan!!!! Worth listening to multiple times!! And the comments so helpful~ please know dear lifter friends I sincerely appreciate the time you take to include poems, hymns, references, quotes and testimonies!!
    My heart is full
    Love to all

  75. Thanks Evan for sharing this idea. It is very important to understand and make comprehension as the God's time is perfect, it means no problems, questions , worries, etc when let God works and the divine solution comes. It is wonderful!!
    Mario Sao Paulo, Brazil

  76. Beautiful...very light and a good example of patience and listening (or hearing). It is not easy to be still and listen in these times and reminders are a life-line. Thankyou very much.

  77. GOD's timing is perfect - yes! Thank you!

  78. A very helpful message. This is just the thought I needed to hear today. Thank you.

  79. So lovely to hear such clear evidences of guidance! It takes moral certainty and absolute trust, not to mention courage, to act immediately on every direction from God, but look at the lovely results!

  80. Thank you for this timely Lift! Wondeful! Wait on the Lord and He Will and Does Direct ur Path!

  81. I just had an epiphany yesterday about going ahead with something that I keep putting off.
All of a sudden I felt I knew what to do. I couldn't stop smiling. Now I am sure where the inspiration
came from. So great to hear your confirming lift today. Thanks Evan

  82. Yes, God does speak to us. I wasn't ready to start my professional teaching career, seeking further accreditation, but was led to enter an interview for a teaching position at a middle school. After the interview, I thanked them for the time but declined the offer. I went about my business the rest of the day, but when I got home, a message awaited me to call the principal back. After praying to know God's will for me, I returned the call and accepted the position. I hadn't applied in paper, by phone, or other means for that position, and yet it landed in my lap. God is patient, loving, guiding and took care of me through His still small voice. I taught and still got my further accreditation!

  83. HI EVAN
I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT YOUR MESSAGE IS HELPING ME TODAY.
    THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  84. Evan, thank you for this wonderful lift. When I woke up this morning, the first part of hymn #444 in the CS Hymnal Supplement was running through my head: "I am the Lord, there is none else; There is no God beside me." I hadn't even been thinking of this hymn recently, so it was a clear message that God was speaking to me. Then, when I saw the subject of this lift, my eyes opened wide and I thought, "Wow!" And the message in this lift is so very helpful.

For awhile now I've been listening for direction of "what to do, where to go" and wondering if I am hearing God's voice or my own self-will. I have the clear message to move, but still am listening for direction of "where" as I need to find employment as well. So I will trust that God's timing IS perfect, and I just need to patiently wait and listen for His direction. Thanks again, Evan, for your reassuring message today. I always love your lifts!

Special thanks to Malcolm #10 for sharing hymn #81...and to Marita #29 for your helpful comments...oh, and to Kim #31 for your comments, too! I often think about hymn #304 which was my husband's favorite hymn: "Shepherd, show me how to go..."

Really, there are so many wonderful comments. Thanks, and love to all!

  85. Thank you for your example. I really needed to hear this and be reminded to listen, as well as believe in God's everlasting provision of good. so grateful for your lift and the others in put as well. I started my day tuning in and it changed my direction for the day. I didn't know that I was forging ahead heedlessly or should I say blindly without an anchor. God bless.

  86. Thank you everyone! You have shared so many deep and insightful comments to complement this Lift. It took me a long time to read through and ponder them all. Thanks for sharing. Keep them coming!

    Cheers,

  87. What a great lift. GOD'S TIMING Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  88. Thanks for stating this truth - it is so reassuring to hear to voice it aloud. God is directing each of us. Phew, what a relief.

  89. Thank you, Evan.

I am so grateful for this particular message as it is just what the practioner ordered.

Keep up all your good work for the movement.

p.s. I always find your articles on your website very healing and have shared them with others.

Thuth, Wisdom, Love and Sincerity, to ALL mankind.

  90. Thanks for the lift, Evan, for sharing your very valuable experience with us. There have been times when I, too, had to learn to wait on God rather than run around and try and fix things myself. I have finally learned that waiting isn't just passively hanging out, but a powerful, joyful, actively prayerful time to serve, to "wait" on God. So that's what I have done and this active serving/waiting always develops and strengthens my trust in God's love and goodness and safety. No missteps when waiting on God, and no time wasted either!! Make good use of that "waiting" time to serve in the way God directs. Love to all.

  91. Thank you very very much, dear Evan! This lift is exactly what I needed ! :-)

  92. This Lift continues to give as the day goes on. I have used the "Trust in the Lord..." for decades and from from the time it first crossed my path, I wrote it out on a 3x5 card and propped it up against
my jewelry box knowing I would see it early in the day. The other quotation I have shared with many
and always use for myself is, "Patience must have her perfect work." I read it in a CS publication so
very long ago but have no idea of its source. As I recall, it had to do with not trying to force a bud to
    bloom.

The quote about is from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, (p. 454) by Mary Baker Eddy.
    Daily Lift Team

  93. Thank you, Evan. Muito obrigado, Evan.

  94. Comforting and joyous! Just what I needed today. Thank you.

  95. thanks, Evan - great lift!

  96. Someone told me to let God put his loving arms (thoughts) around me, while I put my hand over my mouth, and then I will hear God's perfect whisper of an answer. It works. Thanks lifter and lifters for your healing thoughts. El Paso Patt

  97. This lift is just what I needed. Thanks, Evan.

  98. Well, you have to pray to get out of your own way; let go & let God. I can keep it in my own mind to get out of the way, especially when things are not going my way, & resolution of the problem seems like the solution. No! The problem is I'm in my own way, emulating my personal sense of Diety. " Undisturbed by the jarring testimony of the material senses...Science remains (unchangeably) enthroned." or some such thing like that, page 306. Undisturbed, not stoic, and not a sissy, I'm still here. Here I am. Where'd you go, Adam? "I was hiding."

  99. Thank you so much, Evan. This is exactly what I needed as well - I was sure led me to check the Daily Lift at the Perfect Timing.

  100. Thank you so much, Evan, for the beautiful Lift, and I am also grateful to all the responders for their thoughtful comments. I loved Pamela's #4 comment about patience, too. It is indeed "part of the deal" of receptivity, prayer and listening for God's guidance. I, too, have reached out and been rewarded by listening for God's voice and hearing the answer right when it is needed. It is so precious and thrilling to receive, and you never, ever, forget it. In all the experiences I had with this, there was never a doubt as to Who was speaking! That's the beauty of it.

  101. MERCI.....this has resonated beyond any explanation.I will continue to exercise patience and "simply" wait.

    Thanks so much Evan !
How Divine it is to re-member that I, each of us, is so precious in His sight that Our Father-Mother
is unfailingly watching, caing, loving, guiding each step of The Journey during our Eternal unfoldment.

    Blessings abound at every turn.

  103. Thank you for today's lift. Divine Mind provides the intelligence for us to proceed with each progressive step.

  104. Evan: Oh you are so right. When I woke up this morning the thought came to me I am least ready to take on this day than I can remember, and before the next breath, it came to me ""God is running the show". and so he is. It's a winner.

  105. The wonderful thing about the lifts is finding out that your dilemma is not new. We can all relate to these life
lessons, they are evidently universal. And so is the answer. Many thanks.

  106. Thank you!

  107. Thank you so much for this today!!! :)

  108. I was not prepared at all when God gave no approval to my earnest wish to visit the wednesday testimony meeting together with our kids. The church-building was not just round the corner so we sat there round the table with our coats on and I waited for the go-signal. The children complained: "We always go to church when Daddy isn't at home for a couple of days, why not go to church today in the evening?" I didn't know the answer, but the red signal kept flashing. Finally we began to put off our coats, when the phone rang: my husband had caught an earlier plane and asked for a pick-up from the not so near airport. For me the important message was that God dearly loves all His children the church-goer and those who prefer not to go - like my husband. "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to plant and a time to pluck up." (Eccl. 3:1,2). A time to go to church and a time not to go.

  109. Thanks My Friend. I'll put down my stop watch and be more patient, listening!!

  110. Just perfect. Thank you!

  111. Another helpful reminder - thanks, Evan!

  112. Thank you so much, Evan. Your clear and friendly Lift is exactly right for me today (a day late? or maybe God's perfect timing?)

Thanks, too, Luise #108 for that precious testimony.

  113. Thanks so much!

  114. Thank you.

  115. These ideas are perfect for us for now! Just sold my late mother's mobile home and car. Whew!

  116. Wonderful lift... thank you!

  117. Thank you Evan

  118. Thanks Evan - your excellent and encouraging lifts always much appreciated. A matter I think of balance
between time as the handy organiser that God provides us with - and the reality of His gift of eternity.

  119. This Lift was so useful, so soothing and I spent days going back to it and reading comments. And I'm so glad I had one more look because the last comment, #118 from Richard, has a brilliant definition of time, "the handy organiser that God provides us with". And of course that's what it is. Talk about your "aha" moments!

  120. I listen to the Daily Lifts just about every day, and some are particularly special. This is one of those
very special ones that I've listened to every day for the past week. It is what I needed to hear.
    Thank you Evan!!

  121. Beautiful and helpful to people seeking right employment and the right path in which to walk. Thanks!
