It has given me a greater understanding of what being instant in prayer really means - also that however long a problem seems to have gone on, we can still be instant in prayer since the problem is only a lie. The instant we declare and accept the truth of our perfection in God, and give thanks and rejoice KNOWING that God IS in control, we can be instantly free.

Thank you Christine, for this warm and wonderful Lift, full of reassurance and conviction following your complete healing. Sometimes we can pray for quite a while and then suddenly realize the "problem" is physically 'not there' any longer, but we aren't aware of when it suddenly wasn't there. After such a healing so many others gain strength to keep going, and we can tell them of others who have also shared the joy of healing. Even if we have the feeling that it is us against the world, everyone shares the blessing, and they are able to bless others at the same time. Wonderful lift! Thank you. I too have "reacted" to problems by arguing with myself…“this is not true, seems true”, “this is not true, seems true”. Then, when I am still arguing, something kicks in and says “HEY, where is God in that?”

In my experience, prayer is that moment, or INSTANT, when I accept that it is not what I think ,feel, or see that matters, but what God is providing that does. Sure is humbling. I thought all my individual understanding was a rescue. Isn’t there a “point system”? Maybe not. I love the study, but it only counts when we actually trust divine Love, God as all power and source of that which is good right here, right now.

I woke up early thinking about where negative thoughts come from and how they are usually disguised as something real or something important to us. But the more study and prayer you do the more you realize they are like dreaming and the thoughts can be rejected and we can only accept the Truth that makes us free. Thank you for your timely lift that makes this clear...it's like God is working within us all always.

I just received a call from a man named Steve who heard this Daily LIft and wanted to share this thought. When he was going through class instruction, his teacher read Jesus' words, "Ye shall know the truth, the truth shall make yo free." He asked her, doesn't it say, "You WILL know the Truth?" They all looked it up in the Bible and saw that is says SHALL, not will. For him WILL had meant--someday, in the future, perhaps. But SHALL meant it is a fact, a law, a done-deal, inevitable. We shall know the truth that frees because it is God's law being revealed to us every moment through the Christ. Nothing can stop that revelation to human consciousness!

Thank you Christine. My sister and I have been on the phone several times this morning and she said "don't come to visit unless you have read Science and Health all the way through". And she knows I come tomorrow morning. I said to God how can I? The Bible lesson says, " not one faileth".

Thank you for sharing that issues can be resolved. I also, know what the one talent is, in the parable Jesus gave. Remember about some got 5 talents and were grateful and they multiplied. While I just learned that the one with the one talent and was so scared he buried it and then he didn't have that one either. Well, that talent is "Christian Science" and if you don't use it, you lose it. I wanted to tell daily Lifters that because they share what they learn to me, that I need to share what I learn too. Spiritual treatment saved the brother of a friend who had only a short while to live (the doctors said it was a 'miracle'). One of my students who had been talking deliriously, lost in her imaginary world, who never played with her friends and didn't seem to be able to learn, was completely transformed. My cat was healed of a cancerous tumor. I was healed of sciatica, of an abscessed tooth, etc. God is Love, the Truth frees us. THANK YOU to our Father-Mother-Spirit. I send lots of love to everyone!

Thank you Christine. Your experience reminds me of a healing of an issue that had gone on for sometime. I had prayed to be shown what I needed to know, what I needed to see. I was led to look at Luke 10:20 where Jesus counsels his disciples "...rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven." Eugene Peterson in The Message paraphrases this, "the great triumph is not in your authority over evil, but in God's authority over you and presence with you." I so love this gentle reminder that God is my Life, He is sustaining me and I can lean on Him. Well when this issue presented itself I just turned to this sweet restful idea of God's authority and presence and within a couple of days it had melted into nothingness.

Because there is not other reality and no other existence except the divine, because He is all, and we are his offspring, as spiritual as He is. I was curious to look up "instant" in Webster's and as I suspected, "instant" and "insist" have a common root, the Latin verb "stare" which means "to stand". Instant (in+stare) means to stand upon, to urge.
In other words, we must stand our ground in prayer, or insist, and to it instantly. and persistently.
