12/30: New Year reset button

12/30: New Year reset button

  1. Elise also wrote a religious article for the Christian Science Monitor on this same topic. You can read it at this URL: http://www.csmonitor.com/The-Culture/Articles-on-Christian-Science/2011/1230/New-Year-reset-button

  2. Deprive the error of power! Wonderful!

  3. A great lift to start today thanks Elise

  5. That's a lovely thought to start the new year. Thank you, Elise.

  6. Many thanks Elise For that inspiring reminder. Yes. "Christ comes to us continually... to turn on the divine energy of Spirit." "Ye shall not faint, ye shall not fail;/ In Spirit ye are strong;/ Each task divine ye still shall hail,/ And blend it with a song." (Christian Science Hymnal #247. Also UpBeats The Newsong Group Track #7.).

  7. That really is a wonderful message Elise. Let's get that re-set button in motion! Thank you.

  8. Excellent, thanks so much Elise !
Praying starting with the new and not with the old is a way tu push the spiritual reset button.
Happy new man and woman to all !

  9. Th,ank you what a wonderful way to start the New Year.

  11. What a rejuvenating Uplift, Thank you Elised. The verpresence of Christ simply cannot be delayed, denied
or obstructed - no matter what! What a timely to push reset button and I keep resetting it for most fo the time
    adinfitum!!!

Have a wonderful and Joyous entgry to the New Beginning.

  12. Elise, your message is so powerful! I love what you shared about the reset button - that it is The Christ - and that it will deprive the "problem" (any problem) of power. Thank you so much.

Also, thank you, Malcolm (#6) for that message in Hymn 247. Such a promise of hope. I will keep singing.

  13. Thank you - I love the idea of Christ coming to me, keeping on knocking at my door of consciousness, keeping on smiling patiently until the door is opened!

  14. Thank you for this timely lift!

  15. Wonderful message, thank you SO much!!! A Happy New Year for all.

  16. Really enjoyed today's lift! Thank you, Elise. Listening to this message I felt that my reset button was being pushed presenting me with the Christ idea of man, being whole, complete, reflecting spiritual qualities. What a joy to move forward into this God given promise!

  17. Thanks for the inspiring lift and to the BOL team for all the great lifts this past year. Happy New Year everyone!

  18. Thank you for this clear message, Elise! And I echo the last comment - thank you Daily Lift team for all you've given us this last year. The podcasts are a great way to kick-off my study in the morning, and they're also pretty cool to share with others!

  19. Thank you Elise. This reset button helps me to continue redefining myself as God's spiritual idea and enables me to express more love, patience, grace etc., and rise higher in my demonstration of Christian Science. I miss Elena's comments in English.

  20. Thanks Malcolm for referring to Hymn 247 in your comments. Just what I need at this moment.

A blessed New Year to all.

  21. Perfect message for the new year! I love the image of turning off the destructive thoughts and depriving them of power. It's all brand new when we reboot! Happy, happy new year!

  22. Thank you so much. I have to say that this lift has met the present need precisely. So have many other lifts throughout the year. The whole idea is just right I am sure for all of us and I am most grateful for this community of thinkers and workers. And for all those, the lecturers and the TMC staff who enable them to gift these blessings to the world.
A very Happy new year to all.

  23. Very beautiful and clear, Elise! Thank you for sharing the Christ Re-Set Button with us today! Also, thank you to Khorshed from Karachi, Pakistan, #11, for her comments and stedfast love and faith! I do want to remind anyone who's interested that there will be an Online Chat on spirituality.com on Tues. Jan. 3 on Forgiveness, by Diane Maripodi. For me, going into this New Year of 2012, is all about Forgiveness, admitting my mistakes, saying, "I am sorry, I was wrong, please accept my Amends." There is nothing so healing and cleansing as humanly admitting to God, to myself and to another human being that I made a mistake. This clears my "side of the street" and allows another the space to choose whether to forgive or not. And also, I am working on forgiving others for their past mistakes, whether they have apologized or not. Why would I want to do this? Because Forgiveness is for ME - it relieves me of the burden of carrying the heavy weight of resentments and sets me Free to go forward with a lighter Heart - with more openess to receiving more of God's Goodness and Love! Can I do this on my own willpower? No. I need to ask God for help in doing all of this - "I can't, You can, I think I'll let You." "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do." Jesus. Thank you to Nate, to BOL, to DL Team and to all my Family of DL Commenters for making this year of 2011 just a little more Loving, Peaceful and full of Hope! Wishing All of YOU a progressive, properous, forgiving, loving, peaceful, awakened, hopeful New Year. 2012 is going to be an Amazing Year of Positive Unfoldment!

  24. I just love this Daily Lift, Elise! It came at the very moment I really needed it. Actually it came twice, just to make sure that I was alert and heard the message. Because sometimes I do start with the malfunction rather than simply depriving the problem of power. I have been able to put this to instant use, and will surely be aware of the Christ blessing and comforting.
Thank you Nate and the DL team; the BoL and lecturers; and our family of Lifters, who make such a difference to world prayer. "To hearts and homes benighted The blessed Truth is given; And peace and love, united, Point upward unto heaven." (Hy 2 CSHymnal)

  25. Thank you so much Elise for this up to date-daily reminder that we can, and should, reset and go forward. Why would we want to stay in error's suggestion that what was is the now? Work, watch, pray and go forward into the way Christ leads us, ever new!!

Happy New Year to every loved man and nation.

  26. Wow! What a good thought to start the day and the year. My husband was a computer geek, and, when answering phone calls for help at a computer help desk, would always ask first: "Have you done a restart?" If the answer was "No", he would tell them to do that first -- and, as in this lift, so often it solved the problem. This morning I was thinking about Mary Baker Eddy's poem about the new year. Here it is, from the collection of her writings called The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany:

    O blessings infinite!
    O glad New Year!
    Sweet sign and substance
    Of God's presence here.

Give us not only angels' songs,
But Science vast, to which belongs
    The tongue of angels
    And the song of songs.

  27. This was soooooooooooo beautiful. Thank you!

  28. Thank you, Elise. One thing I love about Christian Science is how it encourages an expectation of progress in our spiritual growth and development. We can expect "good, better, best" as we continue to learn more about ourselves as God's own. Until this morning's Lift, I've been into "do over." "Reset" is better and the best way for me right now. I'm not even going to wait that extra couple of days to the new year. This is a great way to move forward. Thanks again, Elise.

  29. just want to thank all the lecturers , all the folks who make the LIFTS possible. It helps us all. Jan

  30. Thank you, Elise, for this very reassuring Lift that the Christ is doing it. Certainly a sign of Love's sweet grace to each one of Her precious children. Hope everyone can feel it as we head in to the New Year. God bless you all.

  31. Thank you so much for such inspire, practical message; available to anyone, anywhere at any time.
    Best wishes,

  32. Thank you for an inspiring lift. What a precious gift the lifts have been all year long!

  33. You certainly pushed my button today Elise Thank you and thank you for all the lifts and lifters over the years I hit a bad spell at Christmas and looked up hymn 49 given to me by lifter Garry from Nanaimo in February of this year maybe Garry from Canada ? and repeated it and repeated it as it appeared to be a hymn that helps and speaks to me ,comfort came so thank you all and special thanks to Garry Look forward to hearing from you all in the New Year A.S.

  34. Hey singsongs! What a lovely Lift today, setting those re-set buttons in all ways is a wonderful offering for the New Year. Clearing away the past and its limited view of our potential! Thank you lovely Lifters, the contributions inspire so much, and I am so thankful for them. My husband listened too. He remarked on the idea that 'the Master is coming' at all times, encouraging us to be ready for new ideas and possibilities. Our job is to be ready. Happy New Year everyone, many blessings!X

  35. I must add my thank you to all the others for a year of inspiration, encouragement and blessings!

  36. Thank you Elise just what I needed this morning. Thank you to all for the beautiful comments!

  37. Thank you so much Elise--your message is just what I needed! Expecting to hear "all is well" and knowing God's Love is governing everyone. Thank you!

  38. Thank you. Deprive the error of power, and the error is erased. What a simple and powerful analogy.

  39. Thank you for this reset. This is what Jesus is asking us and those around him to do, 'reset', or in his words 'repent', change the way you are thinking, or seeing or doing something.
Rethinking; this is our Christly second chance.

As we reset the new year may we all continue to be blessed, especially those on this daily lift team.

    UJ

  40. The reset button is a wonderful way of clearing our thoughts and making sure we put our "house" in order each day. Thank you Elise

  41. Thank you Elise, here in England we have an old saying 'to sleep on it' which is like pressing the restart button, and it does work.

  42. Thanks Elise,
    I am lifted and renewed.
Thank you Malcolm #6 for the reminder of Hymn 247.
    And,of course there's Hymn 219
"Oh Life that maketh all things new..."
To all: May God's blessings be ours in 2012 . . . and eternally.

  43. Thank you.

  44. I checked in again and continued reading all the wonderful comments. Thank you, dear Bev from Idaho, #23, for what you shared about the importance of forgiveness. I really needed to hear that, and am now able to forgive, even those who have not asked for forgiveness, because forgiving helps ME, too! Blessings to you and to all, and many, many thanks for what you share.

  45. Thank you Elise Moore for that lovely Daily Lift. I am finding the holiday daily lifts so worthy of reflection.
I am seeking spiritual guidance. I see that being renewed by the Christ consciousness is somewhat like learning to play an instrument. The more that I stick with a daily practice, the more that I can progress, on both an instrument and in my spiritual growth. The daily lifts and the being a part of this wonderful daily lift community helps me to do just that.
    Thank you daily lift community.

  46. Again thank you, and happy new year.

  47. That is a wonderful message for us to use daily. We can use the mental teflon you have given us in an earlier lift to make sure we keep our thought clear of error.

  48. Thanks Elise. LOVE the simple analogy - erasing
    ERROR immediately - forever!

  49. Splendid message!
    Clear, powerful and unforgetable!
Thank you Elise, for the hint to change our perspective about something - to make use of our "RESET BOTTON or MENTAL BOTTON" in order to restore our spiritual lucidity.
May God´s blessings reach you for the eternity!

I wanna also thank Nate and all staff for the excelent job done all year round!

  50. Thank you so much Elise for the great lift. Happy holiday.

  51. This has been a wonderful year of blessings from the Daily Lift team, and I am so grateful. Many times I have shared them with others, and forwarded them to those that had computers, but didn't know about the Daily Lift. This is the last message for this year and takes us to a high spiritual level to begin a new year. Every day is "big with blessings."

  52. thank you Elise, - this is exactly what I need right now! Have a joyous New Year - every day.
    And love to everyone.

  53. Thanks to all the lecturers and Nate and the team behind the scenes and musicians too, for 2011. A great service to the world, just look at where people comment from ! God's truth and love reaching out , beautiful. Mental reset button pressed! : )

  54. I have to come back again after having read all your wonderful and inspiring and deep comments. And I would like to add to Anon #33 that I have had sooo much help from hymn # 53: "Everlasting arms of Love are beneath, around, above; God it is who bears us on, his the arm we lean upon. etc."
when I was on a tour with friends in the high mountains of the Sinai some years ago and I constantly had to fight against the feeling that the tour was too difficult for me - I kept saying and singing this beautiful hymn. It really gave me the strong feeling of being surrounded and supported by divine Love. It was a gorgeous tour, full of beauty and joy.
thanks again to everyone - reading all your comments and experiences often is like a treatment of joy and gratitude.

  55. Thank you all for the wonderful, successful Daily Lifts that are offering healing to each and every one of us!
Special thanks, Elise, not only for the fabulous lift today, but also for the fantastic lecture you gave in Naperville, IL recently. So much inspiration shared in a beautiful interactive way that is continuing to bless me.

  56. Thank you Elise,
Your lift was perfectly timed as I spent last night struggling with hurt feelings, loneliness and dismay with myself for such uninspired thinking! I love the message that the Christ comes to us to turn off the doubts and fears, to reset our heart and mind, whether we're ready or not, willing or not, deserving or not- to remove the hurt feelings! What a relief!! No need to struggle-just turn it off and trust that the Christ is making all things new!!
    Thank you, thank you!
And to Nate, the Daily Lift is such a wonderful addition to our church -reaching out to so many! We are all very grateful for this daily healing message!
    Happy New Year to all!

  57. oh, so perfect! Thank you, Elise! I will keep this and replay, helping reset those troubling feelings! So grateful to be reminded that renewing/renewal is always with us.

  58. A fresh way of thinking of a reset of thought. Very helpful. Thank you.

  59. The 58 comments posted so far have already beautifully covered my upswell of gratitude for this LIft, for all the Lifts this year, for the tremendous dedication of the Daily Lift production team, and for the evergrowing family of Lift commenters.

I'll just add one note for #33 Anon--I too have been so deeply and quickly helped by snippets of hymns--Truth in poetic form. One line from hymn #202 has come to my aid countless times these past few months: The Christ is here, all dreams of error breaking . . . " Right here . . . RIGHT here, ALL dreams of error breaking. Ahhhh . . .sweet comfort.

Boundless blessings to us all in the coming year.

  60. Thanks Elise....Thanks Bev #23.........Thanks to all...

  61. "Reset" our thinking. The perfect New Years resolution!

  62. Thank you !

  63. Awesome! Thank you Elise -- Just what I needed. I'm becoming aware of some thought/behavior patterns that would be great to change...now I can just re-set.

  64. I love that the Christ is with us whether or not we know it or like it - it's not our job to kick start or even prod the Christ. The divine message of comfort unfolds to fulfill the need. Thank you, Elise.

  65. 19, Coral, I think I need to apologize, I didn't just make a comment as I always do but only translated the message directly to Spanish (a petition by email today) and there was not enough space for my comment afterward.

This lift is so close to my heart, I struggled for years —specially at year's end— because of a painful and lasting divorce that threatened with taking my daughter (11 court hearings).
Christian Science, the spiritual reset button to me, is a life saver, it lifted me out of the nightmare, showed me my worth, and my life restarted. (Maybe that’s why now I can’t shut up).

  66. Thank you Elise! ...Daily Lifters it is time for me to say " See you next year! " I look forward to "leaping" with Joy ( leap year ) at your comments and healings you so generously and kindly share. They have warm my heart this year and helped me so very much.

I thank God that this is a special year coming, as we listen to the Bible lesson on God, in the Christian Science church. To start the year off, with the Mother Church is a cherished event!

To those Lifters of different faiths , we welcome you to the Christian Science service on New Year's Day! It is joyous, peaceful, and healing. If you can't make it no problem, Mrs. Eddy has defined "church" in Science and Health with key to the scriptures as..." the structure of Truth and Love"

Which means church is where God is, so you are always in church because God is ever presence. So, God, Divine Love, sees us all in church, New Year's Day.

We are holding hands and hearts and singing....Onward Christian soldiers.....

  67. Thank you, Elise! I always like the electric Re- sets, so I can sure relate! Thank you.

  68. What a lovely way to close the year! Thank you, Elise, Nathan and all involved with these Daily Lifts--you are truly blessing all mankind. Happy New Year!

  69. During the night I was thinking about this lift and all the lovely comments about pushing the reset button when there is a problem. The following phrase came to me which helped me:- "As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be - world without end, Amen". I was able to go back to basics and restart my thoughts from the correct spiritual standpoint. I am still on the journey, but I know the way opens up when we put all our trust in the spiritual facts, accept the Love, and work with the Truth. As someone else commented from a hymn: "The Christ is here, all dreams of error breaking".

I would like to add my thanks for today's and all the inspiring lifts we have had during the year, and all the wonderful comments which have unfolded from each one. Thanks to all those who make it possible.

  70. Thanks Elise. That reminds me of the history on an Internet search. I can delete the history just by clicking a button. In the same way I can do that with ´so called´past bad history, delete it from my thoughts, permanently, it never existed. Happy New inspired Year to all!

    En español

Gracias Elise.

  71. Thanks for this thought about resetting - mentally - our thoughts!

It´s like in our profession when starting a new project/design - the best way to start is to take literally the blank paper - and letting the real thoughts govern our pencil/thought....
giving the fresh beginning a chance to unfold.

Happy New Year to all of you!

  72. Yes! RESET -- every day!

  73. I, too, want to express my gratitude for the Daily Lifts, the lecturers, and all the comments/commenters this year. In Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy says,"...whatever inspires, be it song, sermon or science..." Between the lecturer and the comments, I feel I get all three each day. Gratitude also to Nate and crew for inspired, refreshing, creative, new ways of delivering these lifts. Your joy and sense of fun sometimes are the little thing that breaks the mesmeric gloomy thoughts. Happy Reset Day to all!

  74. Really loved your lecture this year at our church..."Texting God" with "Help!" "Thanks" "No" Really helpful immediate prayers within reach; as handy as grabbing your phone and these short prayers have helped me time and time again, since....especially "NO!" which is not allowing mortal mind to rethink or create doubt on a complete healing. This, "No!" is my reset button on any thoughts that might try to come in after already handling error by asking God for "Help!" and then the immediate gratitude and acknowledgement of his ever-present power and Love. So, thanks for this Daily Lift reminder of the reset button...it is wonderful to think that correcting error is as easy as hitting delete or blotting it right out with purity. :) Happy New Year; enjoy!

  75. Thank you for the year's wonderful gift-Lifts. Happy New Year to all!

  76. Much gratitude to all of the Lift family - TMC, Nate/crew, BOL/lecturers, commentors. The DL is a gift to the world. Welcoming 2012 and Love's unfoldment!

  77. Computers - wonderful but sometimes infuriating ! Yet by following the good way of thinking - going back to the basics - Truth and Principle ... using that reset button, we can continue on our way joyfully as you have said Elise. Thank you for your interpretation of what our action should be - really so simple ! I would also join in the songs of gratitude for the amazing gifts we have received throughout the year through the loving thoughts expressed by all those who present the Daily Lifts - they last much longer than a day !

  78. As always your words hit me where I live! Thanks for the uplift of thought!

  79. Wow! and thanks.
    Simply spot on Elise.
    Such an ear you have.

A glorious New Year to you, also,
    Susan

  80. Yes, I realy do feel I have presssed that reset button! Always at the start of the year ,
    thank you Elise.
happy new year to you all . Sal xxx

  81. Great gratitude for this power-full Lift.

You are each and all a blessing!
