Christmas is a great opportunity for the human to agree with the divine, a time when people around the world are thinking about goodness, peace and goodwill beyond the usual human living. Let us appreciate this opportunity, provided by Christmas, to open our hearts to the spiritual consent (for all humanity) and let us agree to accept the presence of Christ in our lives.
Let’s carry the good news. http://bible.cc/isaiah/52-7.htm

The daily prayer given to us by Mrs. Eddy says it all for me:- "Thy Kingdom come. Let the reign of divine Truth, Life and Love be established in me and rule out of me all sin. And may Thy word enrich the affections of all mankind and govern them".
That little word "let" is so important and gives our spiritual consent to reflect God's blessings of peace and goodwill to all mankind. Our spiritual consent is such a blessing not only us but to everyone upon whom our thoughts rest.
"Sing, ye joyous children, sing. Glorious is the Lord, our King".

This is a great Christmas Lift, Suzanne, and you wouldn't be the first mother who finds the tables turned in the middle of making a spectacular reverse face. Rather than continuing on with a loud and obnoxious display of ego, I found myself silently nursing a very painful hand with my child anxious to comfort me! Completely missing my son I knocked my hand against the corner of a cupboard. He arrived at the spiritual ideal immediately, with soft words and a comforting hug as I sat on the side of the bath. There were no bad effects to follow and we both learned a big lesson in reason and restraint. You're so right, Suzanne, these pre-Christmas weeks have provided so many opportunities for peace-making, healing the past, and re-uniting with family members. Truly a Christmas to remember for all time.
Thank you, Nate, for this beautiful Christmas music, to the Daily Lift team; the BoL and lecturers, and our own Lift family coming together to celebrate the spiritual meaning of Christmas.

Thank you so much, Suzanne! This is such a good thought for each day, not only for Christlmas: to give my spiritual consent to human thought and life. I will keep this in the entrance of my mind.

Been thinking lately about our "Daily Prayer" and the words, "Let" and "May" contained in it.
"Let" is a word of consent (not just a request) regarding the rule of Truth, etc, and "May" expresses a desire or wish for mankind, with which we need to live consistently. Thanks for the message!

This is such a precious Lift Suzanne, thank you so much. Sharing the Spirit at Christmas, a perfect opportunity for Love to be recognised and welcomed in to everyone's lives.
A dear member of the congregation shared the following with me on Sunday. I wish to share it with all of you. I have circulated it among friends both secular and non. I am delighted it is finding a place in their hearts and thoughts. The lovely prayer at the end will already be familiar to regular "Liftees"
A declaration of Protection:
This is God's spiritual housedhold: nothing can enter to destroy or annoy, for God fills this household with perfect peace and Love governs every member of it.
There can be no will power, no obstinacy, no animal magnetism (bewildered/bewitched online dict.) to darken the atmosphere of this house, for God does, in every deed, dwell on earth with men and governs every event.
There is no evil condition of thought that can argue or suggest, or make any law to govern or control me, intimidate or crush me, or shut out of my consciousness any good.
There is no law of failure, want, poverty, lack or limitation.
The only law is divine law, which is plenty and abundant - harmony and dominion.
No mortal minds or mind - good, bad or indiffirent; individual, collective or universal, can touch me or anyone within the radius of my thought this day, for God governs me and every member of this household with perfect peace and love.
I am the place where God shines through.
He and I are one - not two.
He wants me here - and so I am
I will not fret nor will nor plan.
It's when I am relaxed and free that God works out His plan for me.
God rest ye merry, gentle-ladies and men

What a great idea for us! Thank you! It’s really all about consenting, isn’t it?
Don’t you love it when an answer comes to us in print? Infinite divine Mind stating the obvious and true of us can be really funny! (Consent to peace idea) Beautiful feet! Reminds me of “God rest ye merry” from yesterday’s lift.
“..the essence of the teachings of Christ Jesus and of Christian Science is … accepting consistently as our thinking the thoughts of the one real Mind which unite us to that Mind and separate us from belief in, or fear of, the godless material mind” said Paul Stark Seeley in a 1964 lecture which I have in a VERY yellow CS Monitor page.

I love the definition of consent: to yield, to be in harmony with. It's a relaxing, a letting go of discord, a stillness; the great joy of which is that God is infinitely filling our mental space as soon as we consent to a spiritual perspective on the world and ourselves. It doesn't take great effort on our part to build up the spiritual truth that will take that space - we simply yield to Spirit and it flows in and glorifies every thought. There is no greater gift than an ever-present spiritual reality to be in harmony with.

Thank you Suzanne for that powerful, simple message. We are so human, all subject to human errings. I love your testimony of immediate turning to the spiritual truth, finding the spiritual message, changing your thought, letting go and finding healing; thereby demonstrating Spirit and spiritual man.
I agree that this is a powerful time for reflection. We have the opportunity to look back on the year to see what has been gained, what has been sacrificed for spiritual growth, what has been learned and to pray for an open heart to the offerings that will certainly come in the New Year.
It is a time for appreciating the good in others in this same way and for thanking God for the many blessings and lessons. I love this Daily Lift community and sharing the Spirit of Christmas with you.

Wonderful description of the spiritual receptiveness and acceptance/consent to the omnipresent Spirit, God!
"Silence is the door to consent" Berber
and in S&H 29:20 by Mrs.Eddy we find:
"The illumination of Mary's spiritual sense put to silence material law and its order of generation, and brought forth her child by the revelation of Truth, demonstrating God as the Father of men. The Holy Ghost, or divine Spirit, overshadowed the pure sense of the Virgin-mother with the full recognition that being is Spirit."

My internet access has been down for several days, and oh my, how I have missed my Daily LIft! Today's was lovely, Suzanne. Thank you. I think of Joseph, searching on behalf of his dear wife Mary, searching for someone to consent to provide a place for their baby to be born. And I feel Love's tug, asking me if I will give consent for the Christ idea to be born in my own heart. Am I willing--will I consent to--seeing the God-given Christly nature of everyone I come in contact with?
Truly, the only answer I can give is "yes." And then humbly ask my Father-Mother to help me fulfill that promise.
Thank you, one and all, for these Daily LIfts.

To each Lifter, well-seasoned or brand new to this community of thinkers and lovers, I know we are all considering how to better receive and express a wonderfully spiritual sense of the Christmas message. The touching and enlightening remarks to each Daily Lift turn my heart to God to acknowledge how He is working in our lives, lifting our understanding of the spiritual nature the Christ is teaching us. I am so grateful for such humble, child-like, honest and sincere seeking --- and finding of the Christ that everyone who is listening and reading the comments expresses. Healing consent, Yes, I love it, and thank you, and thanks for all the comments from the liftees.
Big problem at department stores this year who are offering lay-aways. Strangers are indiscriminately paying off family lay-aways. Even a small boy saving his allowance for several months gave his all to pay off for one family.
Sure hope all this love being expressed here hasn't been a factor in this unselfed love that is rapidly spreading across our country, maybe the world.
Rest Merry, all ye Christians

For a lifetime of Christmas celebrations, I've never thought of this time of spiritual consent in that fresh, original and evergreeen way. Thanks for that classic enlightening insight, a gift in itself! Your lift is a perfect complement to this week's Christian Science Bible Lesson which so prominently features the Prince of Peace demonstrating and teaching peace. Thanks, too, for your follow-up blessing. I'll be seeing more spiritual opportunities, consenting more, and loving to see the peace of Christmas extend to the whole world.

Glimpses of unity and love

The illumination of all lives around
No more wars,
No more famine,
No more envy, wrath or revenge
Just pure love of divine Love
Blessing all mankind alike
Now and forever more
It is the CHRIST!
I consent to that.

- 12/20/2011Many thanks Suzanne for that healing Christmas message. Yes "We can cherish for all mankind the precious opportunity for spiritual consent that Christmas provides. A consent to its presence all the time." "O holy presence, that stills all our demanding,/ O love of God, that needs but to be known!/ Heaven is at hand, when thy pure touch persuades us,/ Comfort of God, that seeks and finds His own." (Christian Science Hymnal #174).

- 12/20/2011PEACE. The great "bottom line" of Life. I felt the peace in your angel thoughts, Suzanne.
Rather needed, it so seems, in this turbulent whirld-of-thought we sometimes feel that we live in.
Thank You, God, for showing us the truth, and the way "out;" that is, into more and more reality!
A grateful Santa Cruz friend.

- 12/20/2011Been thinking lately about our "Daily Prayer" and the words, "Let" and "May" contained in it.
"Let" is a word of consent (not just a request) regarding the rule of Truth, etc, and "May" expresses a desire or wish for mankind, with which we need to live consistently. Thanks for the message!
Lily
- 12/20/2011Perfect. Just perfect. Thank you.

- 12/20/2011Wonderful message, Suzanne! I see I have a major " things to do " to put on top of my list for today - and every day to make that spiritual consent . . . thank you for this message of "comfort and joy" for every day, not just during Christmas!

- 12/20/2011"We can cherish for all mankind the precious opportunity for spiritual consent that Christmas provides and consent to its presence all the time." Our Christmas gift to the world -- holding all mankind in thoughts of love and opportunity. Joy to the World.
Thank you, Suzanne.

that like to creep in, especially during this Season. Loving regards to you.

- 12/20/2011This is such a precious Lift Suzanne, thank you so much.

- 12/20/2011What a great idea for us!
I too have fallen face first into Truth a few times. It doesn't hurt a bit!

- 12/20/2011Thank you, Suzanne, for that deep and peace-providing message of comfort. Love seeing that dimple in your face - a symbol of much happiness! Thank you also to #29 Kathleen! I know sometimes I have to pray for willingness to consent to the spiritual - "I am willing to be willing to be willing....to let God guide my thoughts, feelings, words and actions today....." I Love the emphasis on Peace in this week's Bible Lesson, as well as in the Lift! Isn't it Thich Nat Hahn that says, "BE the Peace that you want to see." May the Comfort, Peace and Joy of this Season of the Christ be in every Heart today and always!

- 12/20/2011What a good example that "Trials are proofs of God's care" (S&H pg.66).
We can consent to let into our hearts the "...higher joys of Spirit."
Thank you Suzanne! The Christ is always ready to heal, and Christmas
time is when he will find more receptive hearts.

- 12/20/2011I love the definition of consent: to yield, to be in harmony with.
Kevin Graunke
- 12/20/2011Heartfelt gratitude to you, Suzanne, for today's Lift. Your message of giving spiritual consent to the Christ idea, lifting up our thought to its ever-presence, is helping my family meet a very specific need today. And it's blessing the whole world. Merry (joyful, buoyant) Christmas!

- 12/20/2011The concept, conception, and delivery of the Daily Lift provides plenty of evidence that the Christ comes daily, hourly, continually. It keeps right on giving and growing. Every message is unique and timely, welcomed and received universally. Love it! So many thanks to everyone who contributes and participates. You are blessed and a blessing, broadcasting God's love to the world.

- 12/20/2011YES! Consent to be grateful for the Good -- not to grumble over the negative. When we grumble, we stumble. Fortunately Truth and Love are they to catch us.

- 12/20/2011Hey Suzanne, thanks for the practical insight and for driving it home so clearly by wrapping it in such a powerful experience. You always have great, helpful stories to share! Merry Christmas!

- 12/20/2011Thank you Suzanne for that powerful, simple message.
Thank you everyone. Merry Christmas. Donna Allen

- 12/20/2011Wonderful description of the spiritual receptiveness and acceptance/consent to the omnipresent Spirit, God!

- 12/20/2011My internet access has been down for several days, and oh my, how I have missed my Daily LIft!
Susan from Spearfish, SD
- 12/20/2011Thank you for all you do. I love to hear your voice. The message rings true and I am using it to replace any negative thought.

- 12/20/2011To each Lifter, well-seasoned or brand new to this community of thinkers and lovers, I know we are all considering how to better receive and express a wonderfully spiritual sense of the Christmas message. I trust you will each find the next steps you are praying to understand are in God's hands. Have a wonderful Christmas.
Ann from Oregon
- 12/20/2011Dear Suzanne, thank you for this loving Daily Lift. It's message tells us to givet"spiritual consent" to the Christ to live in our hearts and allow that divine idea to shower over everything and everyone we meet. Much love, gratitude and blessings to everyone.

- 12/20/2011Healing consent, Yes, I love it, and thank you, and thanks for all the comments from the liftees.

- 12/20/2011Came back for a refresher! Thanks to #66 Gaby for: "Silence is the door to consent." Berber. I practice a Christian form of meditation, which is just getting quiet and consenting to hearing, sensing, feeling, and accepting God's word for me on a daily basis. Happy Merry to All!

- 12/20/2011Dear Suzanne, I love this beautiful message. It reminds me of the last phrases of "O, little town of Bethlehem", Hymn 222-223 of the Christian Science Hymnal: "Where meekness will receive him, still The dear Christ enters in."

- 12/20/2011For a lifetime of Christmas celebrations, I've never thought of this time of spiritual consent in that fresh, original and evergreeen way.

- 12/20/2011I CONSENT TO THAT
By Carlos ©
Spiritual understanding is in sight
Glimpses of unity and love
Agreement among nations
On matters of care, health and freedom
Blessing everybody on its way
The new-old idea is born
In humble human thought
It is the coming of goodness for all
The illumination of all lives around
No more wars,
No more famine,
No more envy, wrath or revenge
Just pure love of divine Love
Blessing all mankind alike
Now and forever more
It is the CHRIST!
I consent to that.

- 12/20/2011SPIRITUAL CONSENT It just struck me -- this is what Moses told God at the burning bush, 'yes, I'm available'. You have my spiritual consent. No matter what my limitations, I'm available -- you have my spiritual consent. whoopie
Moses wasn't the greatest public speaker, or leader or teacher before he said "I'm available".

- 12/24/2011The sense of Moses' willingness to be the man God could use, is a wonderful one. It lifts "the shade of gloom" that says we are not worthy or don't have the capacity to express all spiritual qualities fully. I love this so much!
