The speed of light is the fastest anything can travel (Einstein). Inspired thought is even faster than the speed of light. No resistance=no fear, no destruction.
The spiritually minded are conscious with God, His image, one with its original. God thinks and we are that thought -God's idea. "One moment of divine consciousness, or the spiritual understanding of Life and Love, is a foretaste of eternity" S&H 598:23
When our thought are in line with the Creator time doesn’t count.
This not only applies to physical problems but to every facet of our lives.
ESPAÑOL: La velocidad de la luz es lo más rápido se puede viajar (Einstein). El pensamiento inspirado es aún más rápido que la velocidad de la luz. No resistencia= no temor, no destrucción.

Thank you for these wonderful ideas. Thinking of myself as God's idea, does that mean that I'm traveling faster than the speed of light? Where's the brakes?

Thank You so much Elise!
God's angel messages are our spiritual intuitions. Time is a human concept only, and a human burden. God's infinite has no sense of time, and there is no burden there, only God's perfect Principle and order. It's like the time I pulled my car up to a 4-way stop intersection. I looked to the left, and then to the right, and it seemed safe to go. But I didn't. God's angel message came to me to "wait and don't go". Just then a car came speeding right through the intersection. So time was not a factor in my safety. It was spiritual intuition that we all have available. If I made time my God, I would have been in the middle of that intersection, and my car would have been seriously impacted on the side where I was sitting. I am so grateful for God's guidance and "God's Spiritual Time". Thanks for all the Daily Lifts!

Thank you, Elise, for that speedy lift!
I always thought of the "now-ness" of the Christ in terms of the active presence of the Christ, and man's ability to both be, and also to become, the complete and full expression of God.
But now, in terms of your speedy Daily Lift message, this "now-ness" has to be considered and seen not only as true and potential for man, but as instantly transparent and supremely present, RIGHT NOW!
It's the nature of scholastic theology to try to put off healing into the future, after some step has been taken in a process. A person might be tempted to think something like "well I'll pray about that WHEN I feel more spiritual," or “I'll be healed AFTER I've read my Bible Lesson, and rested” or I’ll be happy AFTER I get married, or AFTER I find a job or become worthy of healing. Man is not a process. He (or she) is not becoming, but IS instant expression. Man is, and always has been, and will always be spiritual, and held that way as God’s perfect image, and His instant reflection.
The fact is that animal magnetism is always powerless to affect God and His idea, man. To give it any power we first would need to forget the "now-ness" of the Christ, and the speedy side of divine law and being. We would first have to agree to be depressed, or distraught, or feel far away, or unworthy, or whatever.
It is far better to feel the stillness and peace of our being an emanation of God – that instant expression of eternal oneness, and now-ness.

I love what you've shared in this, Elise. It brings comfort, and alertness to Truth. I will be working with this, for sure! There is no comparison of physical light the scientists recently discovered, to Light 1st John 1:5 spoke of, "God is light". Truly they did not disprove Einstein, for God is eternal NOW, and as you said, His thought is instantaneously expressed in us. So, there is nothing faster, better worded as nothing more instantaneous than Light. Time is not part of eternal Now. I like how you said Speed yields to stillness. Speed as timed motion is physical. My dictionary's only definition of "stillness" is "Quiet; silence; calm". Speed has an archaic, and more metaphysical definition, also: "Prosperity in an undertaking; success" as to wish one good, or Godspeed.
Rev. 21:23 tells there is no need of light from sun or moon, for God's glory is the light of our Holy city, where we already dwell with God, in divine Mind. It takes 8 minutes for sunlight to reach us on Earth. His glory IS, already and always where we are. Our thoughts from God locate us to receive this.
Thanks #8 Uncle John, for reminder of "measure". Thanks #11 Peter for those thoughts.

What a deep and profound message. Thank you, Elise! It so beautifully illumines consciousness. Without fear or distraction, thought instantaneously reveals God's thoughts faster than the speed of light, and reveals man as God's thought. Man becomes fully aware of his contemporaneous nature with God. The indivisible quality of his being with God, understood, brings light and healing. This Lift is an incredible gift. Thank you, again.

Thanks Elise and thank you everyone for your inspired comments. Being still in Mind, really allows us to feel the presence, power, and allness of divine Spirit, divine Love, in which and of which we live, move, and have our being; in which our perfection is just radiated forth like the rays of the sun expressing all the energy, vitality, and light of Infinite Being. This human condition must and does coincide with this spiritual condition (nowness and stillness) as we let go of a personal, limited sense of being and embrace the divine sense of God and man, divine Principle and idea, that always is, and ever will be. As MBE states in S&H w/ Key to the Scriptures, "A pure affections takes form in goodness, but Science alone reveals the divine Principle of goodness, and demonstrates it rules." The result of God's infinite goodness being acknowledged, felt, and embraced in consciousness (loving God will all our heart, soul, mind, and strength) will result, will be experienced as harmony (health, joy, companionship, friendship, strength, abundant good) right where we are, and this result can be immediate like the rays of the sun that are always present shine through the morning mist as the clouds (of sense) disappear. Everyone have a blessed and grateful day!

Great inspiration today! Thanks Elise and also all the other comments so far. As I pondered the message, I remembered how Jesus overcame time and space. In one of his trips across the Sea of Galilee, they were immediately at the other side. There have been times when I have thought I was going to late to an activity or meeting, but when I have reminded myself that time is just a limited concept, I've always arrived just at the right moment. We are always where we are supposed to be when we are supposed to be there. Knowing this takes away the worry and stress. Thanks again.

Thanks Elise for this reminder of our relation to and integration in God'sThought.
I would like to add to this "Allness" and "Infinity". If God is infinite so God's "Speed" must be infinite - that means at every place, everywhere to be present at the same time continously - "Omnipresence" or all prensence that can be is the result. That is - infinite LOVE everywhere at whatever time e.g., from the quality of infinity it follows the God fills all space and time does not exist.

There is a cartoon that has passed around our family. “Frank and Ernest” by Bob Thaves. Frank and Ernest are two cavemen. One of them has just made scratch marks on the cave wall in groups of 5. The other says “You’ve invented counting? Nice going…. Now our days are numbered!”
Mrs. Eddy presents her own version of Frank and Ernest’s mathematical wizardry in Mis. 42:30 “Mind is not confined to limits; and nothing but our own false admissions prevent us from demonstrating this great fact.”
11 Peter beautifully elevates Christ activity to “now-ness”. This God self-consciousness is felt as instantaneous (#41 speed of Life!) warmth and love, appropriately - “oneness”, which removes our false admission of chalk marks.
Great Lift! Appreciate the unbridled Truth!

Thank you for making this connection Elise, and to others for enlightening comments that shine with shared acknowledging of Mind's ever-presence. Re "measurement", in the Bible Rev 10:6 John writes that there shall be "time no longer". In the Glossary of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures Mary Baker Eddy writes:
S&H 595:17
"TIME.Mortal measurements; limits, in which are summed up all human acts, thoughts, beliefs, opinions, knowledge; matter; error; that which begins before, and continues after, what is termed death, until the mortal disappears and spiritual perfection appears." ( See also 116:1-5)
I experienced the blessing of a moment of spiritual consciousness while reading from the desk in church last Sunday. Needing to lift thought from reaction to a window having fallen on my hand that morning, my attention became focused on correlative passages just read relating to one Mind/ God -- from Sc&H marker 23, which ends with p.488:23-24, "Mind alone possesses all faculties, perception, and comprehension". For a moment it felt as though a Bible text I followed with from Revelation 12:10, "And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ, for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night." were reading itself -- I was aware of my voice reading the words, but not of needing to consciously work on their expression. This small recognition of no separation between God's idea and my delivery of it offered healing relief, and reassures me that I can "let go and let God" in other areas too.

Thank you so much, Elise! What a beautiful Lift of pure Divine Metaphysics! This Lift is Christian Science at its Best! I thought of one of Mrs. Eddy's statements, "God rests in action"! Could that fit with this Lift? Yes, we are only what God knows - we are God's "thinks" or ideas! Such a breakthrough in thought that Mrs. Eddy brought to the world through her discovery of the Divine Laws of God's Spiritual Universe, or in other words, Christian Science! I think all our excitement over technology is just a symbol of humanity's yearning for spirituality - for true inspired thought which is faster than the speed of technology. I listened to this, then listened again, then again with stops & starts to jot down favorite phrases, many of which are already referenced in the comments. I laughed because I thought "wow" after all my listening and then I scrolled to see the first two comments began that way! This Lift is wonderful - a fresh way of stating the truth about our constant connection to God, divine Mind; affirming that inspiration is natural and always available and that inspiration is instantaneous understanding - WOW! I have to say I am still very much moved and in awe of this Lift. I have moments of inspiration daily, but I haven't been acknowledging them as understanding and it will be such fun to now stop and think "oh that's God making it clear that He's thinking me and letting me know I have understanding." Similar to what #11 Peter mentioned, this will cut through the mortal temptation to put off our progress due to some process we think we must go through and it counters the general feeling of gaining understanding over time. Thanks #10 T. McElroy for sharing that great demonstration of protection in God's time. Thank you everyone involved in making the Lifts possible and for the comments that stimulate further thought and generate such a lovely expression of fellowship. Love to all. Tracy

Elise thank you for this very special lift; Earlier I had been contemplating the definition of Day in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures that says "the objects of time and sense disappear in the illumination of spiritual understanding, and Mind measures time according to the good that is unfolded. This unfolding is God's day and "there shall be no night there." So then, the objects of time and sense, the distractions and fear, instantly replaced with God's thoughts and understanding will result when we are conscious only of the things of God.

I see a lot of good unfolding on this Daily Lift.

The speed of light represents a moving particle of material description, even if that is only mental energy, and it must include the premise that something is somewhere, racing to get somewhere else. It involves the belief in absence.
Instantaneous is the same as omnipresence, God, I AM. This equates to no delay, no separation, no growth and maturity. Neither does it have a direction… either to us or from us. It includes no boundaries, limitations or restrictions, no lack or overabundance. No planning, aiming, scheduling or preparations. No lines, no waiting.
Such permanence and equality is the pure Father-Mother expression. It means God’s children (spiritual ideas, man and woman) have no differences (opinions) or quarrels (conflicts) and no inequalities, inequities, inadequacies, no need to share, separate, allocate or reciprocate. No separate orbits, spheres, cycles. All is One.

Elise - this is so profound. You have stated this truth so well - I think anyone could understand the metaphysics of it. Living it - or yielding to it - that is what I will take up!

Twenty years ago I started to write a book that was given to me through thought. Its premise is goodness and gratitude and is in the form, for the human concept, of a fantasy. It uses thought transference for it sees time as of no relavance. I am so grateful, Elise, that you understand and have shared this thought with all of us. The gift of this story is a series of lessons and each one begins with the word NEVER. One morning as I was doing my daily work I questioned in my thought, "Why NEVER? and the thought came clearly, NO ETERNAL VERITY EVER REVERSED. I love Mrs. Eddy's writings, because with the Bible they answer every question, you just have to take advantage of that God given stillness that never changes or fails. Mrs. Eddy makes you think. Many times I have sat in church and mentally said that phrase was not in this weeks lesson, only to find I just hadn't been listening.
Elise, this was just what I needed to hear. Thank you to all responsible for our Lifts and the commenters. Thank you Father-Mother God for your everpresence.

Thank you Elise! It reminds me of what St. Paul meant when he stated we must be "instant! In season and out of season"! I love the thought of being so close to God that wherever He is,we are! If He weren't there, we couldn't be because we reflect him, and the "principle is above what it reflects!" (Science and Health) states. This is why being a Christian Scientist is so wonderful. We don't have to wait for office visits or availability. God is always ready and available and ready to answer every prayer! Thank you for reminding me of this this morning!

This is a beautiful idea to add to my recent study. I had gone on-line to discover documented evidence of Life's permanence and discovered a wealth of medical comment supporting this fact. There was an interesting sideline threaded through the material which concluded that mind was not in the brain. These scientist had determined that intelligence comes from outside the body; and although they did not credit God as the mind source, they did agree that intelligence came from a source outside the material body and came from a power or energy they could only guess at. Of course, this group of thinkers was trying to define a material situation, but the next step has to call upon more spiritual information if they want a solid answer. Mind operates not upon demand, but as a constant flow of all right ideas and does not need an apparatus to help it function. Keeping the brain out of evaluation just allows us to understand the direct relationship between God and man. It is just an unfoldment of intelligence to see this. I love what Mr. Lott says, "Be still in Mind". We are already "in" the right answer, no space or time or opportunity for anything to interfere with how we are to reflect that answer. Thanks everyone for the great ideas, and thank you Elise for another inspired reflection.

Thank you so much, Elise!
Today I was on my way to an appointment from a neighboring state, very quickly and harmoniously.
I couldn't help but notice the playful display of red-orange leaves on an old white wall in the sunlight. Just a little love note from God to the world, right? I arrived two minutes early!

Thinking is different from knowing. Thinking implies a moment of not knowing. Humanly we think. When we rise above the human perspective, we understand that God is all-knowing. He doesn't have to think because he knows all there is to know and his creation unfolds to us as our understanding increases.

Way to go Elsie, thanks! Reminded me of comments of a CS teacher, re the ISNESS of being. Simply, God IS, not has been, nor will be not even now if thought in terms of time. Mind IS, Love IS, man IS "...time is no part of eternity. One ceases in proportion as the other is recognized." S&H 408:29. Our task "be still...know...I AM...". IS.

Wonderful Lift. It reinforces a thought gain a year ago in reading Ivimy Gwalter article in the Anthology of Classic Articles. God thinks and therefore I am. It is the higher meaning of "reflection". One meaning is the metaphor of a mirror. That is the way God is and therefore I am like that. The higher meaning of reflect is to think. In that sense we are actively God's ideas.

After a long trip I came home to a tremendous amount of email, and I've had quite a time catching up ... but here today, some time after you recorded it, is a simply wonderful daily lift ... I so much appreciate getting this inspirational message, because, of course, it's never too late to be inspired, never too late to receive a thoughtful message, and never too late to open our minds and hearts to more of God's wonderful ideas!

- 10/6/2011The speed of light is the fastest anything can travel (Einstein).

- 10/6/2011Thank you, Elise, for that speedy lift!

- 10/6/2011I love what you've shared in this, Elise.

- 10/6/2011What a deep and profound message.

- 10/6/2011Thanks Elise and thank you everyone for your inspired comments.

- 10/6/2011Great inspiration today!

- 10/6/2011Thanks Elise for this reminder of our relation to and integration in God'sThought.

When you think of computer technology over the years, and how far they have come, it appears that the goal is always to get a faster connection to information and to each other.. it's so close to instantaneous now, but to understand that our connection to God is always going to be timeless, is completely awesome!

- 10/6/2011Thank you so much for this wonderful Lift, Elise. This Lift tonight is giving all sorts of challenges, so while waiting for something, I have been praying, and now can, at the very least, send a message. Have been trying since 4.30pm and it is now 10.30 pm, in and out listening to Elise's lecture notes, and this is the first time that this blog site has been active or activated. A truly amazing Lift but one we know is true. God thinks as us! God knows our thoughts even before the words come out of our mouth! Thank you

- 10/6/2011There is a cartoon that has passed around our family.

- 10/6/2011Thank you for making this connection Elise, and to others for enlightening comments that shine with shared acknowledging of Mind's ever-presence.

- 10/6/2011Thank you so much, Elise! - 10/6/2011I listened to this, then listened again, then again with stops & starts to jot down favorite phrases, many of which are already referenced in the comments. Tracy

- 10/6/2011Fresh new take on time...I LOVE that God is thinking me! And mine and all the world! Anything but that divine thinking of us is the counterfeit...fake and useless. It only matters what God is thinking of man. And we of course reflect that thinking! Here and now. Powerful stuff!

- 10/6/2011Elise thank you for this very special lift; Earlier I had been contemplating the definition of Day in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures that says "the objects of time and sense disappear in the illumination of spiritual understanding, and Mind measures time according to the good that is unfolded. This unfolding is God's day and "there shall be no night there." So then, the objects of time and sense, the distractions and fear, instantly replaced with God's thoughts and understanding will result when we are conscious only of the things of God.

- 10/6/2011Add one more WOW! to the comments. And there is nothing faster than NOW...not even Superman. NOW are we the sons (children) of God. (John I) NOW is the day of salvation. (Paul). NOW we know what God knows/sees. (Me)
Thank you Elise. That was a GOOD one. A very good one.

- 10/6/2011I liked the reference to "fear and distractions" which I take to be resistance to spiritual advancement or understanding. I reminded myself of the Christian Science standard of time measurement by looking up the definition of Day in the glossary of Science and Health which includes the phrase "...and Mind measures time according to the good that is unfolded." I see a lot of good unfolding on this Daily Lift.

- 10/6/2011The speed of light represents a moving particle of material description, even if that is only mental energy, and it must include the premise that something is somewhere, racing to get somewhere else.
All is One.

- 10/6/2011Elise - this is so profound. You have stated this truth so well - I think anyone could understand the metaphysics of it. Living it - or yielding to it - that is what I will take up!
It expands on a Bible verse from the Bible Lesson this week that I had already been working with, "Thou art my God. My times are in thy hand: (Psalms 31 14,15)." Thank you, thank you - and too, thanks for all the wonderful comments.

- 10/6/2011Twenty years ago I started to write a book that was given to me through thought.

- 10/6/2011Thank you Elise!

- 10/6/2011Yesterday and today, something has happened to my Lift comments. They are spaced too widely apart vertically, and the right-hand portion of each comment is cut off. This does not happen when I go back to view the Lifts from Monday and Tuesday. Is this happening to anyone else?
Thank you, Elise, for those powerful and Love-filled thoughts.

- 10/6/2011Thank you Elise for this powerful lift. Ruth's comment reminds me of something that happened to me years ago. I was working in a beauty salon and we were all very busy, I answered the telephone and it was an obscene telephone call, he whispered what he wanted to do to me, my reply was an instantaneous response, I did not think the words, they just came out of my mouth," That is not what you want to do at all, don't you know God loves you?" He hesitated a moment and in a very normal voice said "Do you think I need help?" I said,"Yes we all do"

- 10/6/2011Thank you Elise ... I have been "sticking" over a very big decision involving money and forward movement for my business. Being reminded that we are God's thoughts has swept away the resistance. Bless you.

- 10/6/2011This is a beautiful idea to add to my recent study.

Today I was on my way to an appointment from a neighboring state, very quickly and harmoniously.
I couldn't help but notice the playful display of red-orange leaves on an old white wall in the sunlight. Just a little love note from God to the world, right? I arrived two minutes early!

- 10/8/2011Thinking is different from knowing. Thinking implies a moment of not knowing. Humanly we think. When we rise above the human perspective, we understand that God is all-knowing. He doesn't have to think because he knows all there is to know and his creation unfolds to us as our understanding increases.

- 10/9/2011Way to go Elsie, thanks! IS.

- 10/9/2011Wow, that's great. Thanks Elise

- 10/10/2011Wonderful Lift.

- 10/25/2011After a long trip I came home to a tremendous amount of email, and I've had quite a time catching up ... but here today, some time after you recorded it, is a simply wonderful daily lift ... I so much appreciate getting this inspirational message, because, of course, it's never too late to be inspired, never too late to receive a thoughtful message, and never too late to open our minds and hearts to more of God's wonderful ideas!
