1/30: Connect with God

1/30: Connect with God

The words Lindsey quotes today are from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy on page 491, line 15.

  1. Thank you Lindsey for the beautiful Lift you have given us today. Connecting with God allows us to see clearly the good that has always been present in our lives. Christian Science brings to light our true and eternal relationship with God, our spiritual Parent. Demonstrating our oneness with God puts our lives into spiritual perspective that in no way diminishes, but rather, enhances all of our human interests, activities and relationships.

  2. God loves you just because of who you are, God's image and likeness, and the sooner you realize this the better.
The prophet Jeremiah understood God as saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you." Jeremiah 31:3
MBE calls this, "the indissoluble spiritual link which establishes man forever in the divine likeness, inseparable from his creator." S&H 491:12
Imagine that, we can avail, any time and in any place, of that link, completely unbreakable!

  3. Perfect lift. Thank you.
Yesterday afternoon I experienced a precious moment sharing my love for a little burrowing owl, who turned his little feet so that his tiny stout body faced me as a young woman snapped our picture. Then his little mate (half his size) popped her head out of their burrow, turned and gazed at me, too. This was unusual as she is dedicated to tending her nest. She wanted some of that Christ love! How receptive these sweet creatures are to love, I thought. I must deliberately share it more often and I am. It is so easy; just takes a conscious thought. Connecting to God so expands our love ability! The source of our love is Love divine and we the perfect expression.

  4. Thank you Lindsey. For the Beautiful Words of encouragement,

  5. Many thanks Lindsey for this inspiring reminder. Yes, we have a relationship with God [divine Love] that keeps us connected with good." "Christ, the way of our salvation,/ Rends the veil of separation,/ Shews our life in Spirit, free—-/ Shews the glory of creation,/ God and man in true relation:" (Christian Science Hymnal Supplement #437).

  6. Thank you Lindsey for your daily lift that I really needed. I have been struggling with a claim of a scratchy throat and drippy nose for the last 4 hours. Listening to your lift has helped me to change my thinking to the right direction and where I should have been all along. I needed to be reminded that the relationship with God is never inseparable and that I am his perfect child. I will be able to go to sleep now - in a healing sleep. Thank you so very much.

  7. When I say I really needed to hear this lift, I really am sincere. thank you for reminding me of God's love for me.

  8. Thank you, dear Lindsey, for this extremely valuable Truth you express in your DL today - tks a lot!

  9. Thank You, and I love the Idea that God loves me., that God is my best friend

  10. Thank you for this lift. I am working on this idea almost everyday. "Our Mather, Father, God is always right next to us for whatever we need to get in touch". I am working on being patience to feel God's inspiration coming to me. I am focusing on the 7 Principles of God for getting things solved. If I have this connection to God and everybody has it then I don't need to interfere in this. I just have to do what God has meant for me.

  11. Thank you Lindsey for the reminder that I am linked to God, my Maker, and not "jointed" to matter, and because of this, I can find Christ, the real man,and (my) relation to God.

Mrs Eddy writes in Science and Health page 315:
" The real man being linked by Science to his Maker, mortals need only turn from sin and lose sight of
mortal selfhood to find Christ, the real man and his relation to God, and to recognize the divine sonship".

To me this explains what the Prodigal Son had to learn when he "joined himself to a citizen of that
country" (Luke 15:15), the citizen being mortal thought.

A happy ending though when he "came to himself" " and he arose" (his daily lift?)and linked up with his Father once more

  12. Thank you, Lindsay, for that gentle, but firm reminder being connected with God. It's great to know we are never disconnected!

  13. A wonderful thought that we can never be disconnected from our divine source, infinite Love - whereas, for instance, a hose pipe may be disconnected when not in use, and then needs to be connected again in order to pour forth the water. We are forever connected with our dear Father-Mother, and we just need to realize this and take advantage of it - letting God pour in all the right ideas and love we need. False material beliefs cannot disconnect us, although it seems like that sometimes. God and His idea are ONE always. A great cause for giving thanks and rejoicing evermore.

  14. Thank you Lindsey that is exactly what I needed to hear this morning. Spot on
    JM, Surrey

  15. Thank you Lindsey ... this "Lift" is sooooooo timely. Thanks for meeting my need. I have come to the realization that the only relationship is between God and His idea ... and we honour this by relating to all on that basis ~ from God ... it is safe, loving and secure within this divine Mind.

  16. Excellent Lindsey, thank you so much!

Mrs Eddy really had the right idea and it was conitnually from the right place. Indissoluble Love, no matter what trials we feel it is put in our experiences, Mother/Father Love persists in our lives and patiently waits for us to discern its presence.

Rather as #3's Burrowing Owl, (must Google, not to be found on these shores methinks) popped it's head out the burrow knowing it was safe and then the hen intuiting safety had a peek too.The peace and uplifting of thought which comes to us from God is tangible to the thoughts of others.

Cherishing ourselves and having One principal to our be-ing, allows those we meet, to meet us in good order. "And the meek shall inherit the earth" the struggling heart will feel the Love and be uplifted.

    Beannachd,

    Shelagh

  17. Lindsey,
    Thank you

  18. Thank you, Lindsey. I like the "spiritual mathematics" of this Daily Lift: "and then your life will have balance." Yes, my life is His, Life, eternal. The word "connect" is the equal (=) sign in mathematics where no fraction of error is permitted for perfect and the only allowable balance. Thus, the reality of Truth, infinite. Where all identity is known to divine Mind. No unknowns or "plugs" are allowed in the equation. Balance is revealed and known without the use of force!

  19. Beautiful LIFT! Thank you so much!

  20. I like the gentle tone with which this Lift was delivered. Thank you.

  21. What a wonderful lift. Thank you!

  22. Thank you so much for this marvelours daily lift.

  23. Thank you, that Lift is just perfect for starting my day.

  24. Thank you Lindsey for this continuing lesson on our indissoluble oneness with God. And thank you to #18, Sunshine, for the light you added to this lift. God + man = AtONEment. Perfect balance! I will use these thoughts today.
Words cannot describe how grateful I am for these precious Daily Lifts and for ALL of the inspired comments each and every morning. Thank you Mother Church, thank you Daily Lift Team and thank you to all our Lecturers for these truths that meet so many needs every moment.

  25. Thank you Lindsey. Lovely DL. It is so reassuring to know always that we are never disconnected from God´s love!
And I agree with the comments too. IF we are conscious of this Love we will always have balance in our lives. Mathematically provable! It is reliable. I will remember it.

  27. Very comprehensible to start with even if it's hard to put into practice at times. So lovely to have someone from the South of England!

  28. What more could we want or need , but to know that we are first connectected to the source of all that is and that we are that . . . .this is the way to begin with divine direction for the day. Thank you Lindsey for connecting with us through your faith.

  29. that was just right!
    Thx!

  30. Perfect. ❤

  31. Wonderful uplift! thank you

  32. I am greatful for your uplift today. thank you.

  33. Thank you, dear Lindsey.

We, every one of us, are in Love, of Love, by Love, for Love, and this Love is omnipresent and infinite. We have but to let this Love shine forth continually--to be "a gentle beam of living Love," as Mary Baker Eddy puts it in one of her beautiful hymns. A practitioner once shared this thought: "You are loved, beloved, loving, and lovely." What more could we be and do?!

  34. This was just the inspiration I needed this morning after experiencing a difficult relationship problem yesterday. I just looked up the statement from Science and Health p. 491:12 "It is only by acknowledging the supremacy of Spirit, which annuls the claims of matter, that mortals can lay off mortality and find the indissoluble spiritual link which establishes man forever in the divine likeness, inseparable from his creator." God is supreme and ever present at all times and it is our responsibility to connect with Him - He is always connected to us!

  35. Thank you.

  36. Wow! What a beautiful message! Thank you for sharing this important idea!

  37. So grateful for this clear picture of the Christ-light, our forever connection to divine Love. Thanks Lindsey and the terrific DL Team.

  38. Lindsey, there are so many great mini messages in your Lift today for me, thanks sooo much!

  39. Lindsey, what a wonderful lift to start my day. How our being ever connected to a loving God brings perfect balance to my daily activities just put the icing on the angel message I've Been working on in handling false suggestions. "DISconnect, or Pull the plug on mortal mind". I love knowing right now I'm always connected to Love. Thanks so very much.

  40. Beautifully expressed, and so inspiring! Thanks!

  41. I needed this reminder this morning and will remember it through out the day, expressing God's love to everyone I meet, knowing that He loves me and I can express that love to others..
Thank you Lindsey. Thanks to the wonderful team that brings us these Lifts.

  42. Yes,your gentle delivery of the message today reinforced its power. Thank you!

  43. Thank you for this lovely lift. Isn't it great to know we have this indissoluble spiritual link to our heavenly Father Mother and that we are inseparable from our creator.
This reminds me of training our dog; we keep a puppy on a leash to protect him from harm, then he learns, through kindness, love and happy games, to stay close to us without the leash.
We learn from studying our Bible and Science and Health to stay close to God, Spirit, and we are safe in His/Her tender care.

  44. Thank you so much Lindsey. So precious a thought to be loved of God. AND thanks for the phrase "purposeful energy." Sweet music. AND thoughtful comments from those who have shared. Thank you.

  45. I love this. Thank you so much. I wrote every word down in my spiritual journal...full of so many loving ideas to reread and ponder and absorb and become! I continue to seek that nourishing equilibrium in my daily life that gives me wonderful balance. Here, you have given a wonderful recipe for finding balance, in friendships, acquaintances and the daily walk of life. I can see how I can deepen my sense of purpose by continuing to deepen my connection, my friendship, my leaning to God, the indivisible Creator. As I do this, my sight becomes clearer and my intuition sharper to follow the opportunities which deepens my sense of purpose in life in every moment. Thank you again and have a fine, God connected day!

  46. Thank you for this lovely Lift and for all the inspired comments from the Daily Lift community round the world. The inspired message in the Lift and the affirmation in each of the comments helps us to continue correcting corporeal sense from our position above it, as Mary Baker Eddy instructed - our daily mission - rather than trying to correct it from some spurious position within it - mission impossible!

  47. Our relationship with God is undaunted and unrestricted. Relationships based on a material base is based on a slippery slope at best and is sure to result in failure. So let us always be connected to God where failure is unknown.
    By TOBIAS A. WEISSMAN

  48. Thank you Lindsay. This is right on! Good connections. God connects us to GOOD.

  49. Our first and only relationship is God. Thankyou Lindsey.

  50. Wonderful message... thank you so much for this lift!

  51. Thank you for this daily "link." So perfect for today. Although dearly loving my "friends" on facebook, I've never felt totally comfortable with personal information being sent out to the masses. Yesterday was challenging in this regard, discovering something I wished I had not. As I prayed, there was a humbling release and I could feel God sending impersonal love to all mankind. This lifted me above human stories to a higher sense of God loving the universal family. Taking moments to affirm everyone's constant link with their Maker is a worthy endeavor. Gratefully, a harmonizing of the situation I'd become aware of followed. Thank you all for THIS Love-furthering avenue.

  52. Thank you. We are always connected to the love of God.

  53. Thank you dear! Beautiful thought on making God our priority connection.

  54. Thank you dear! Beautiful thought on making God our priority connection.

  55. I like how you take the various names for God (Life, Love, Truth...) and then describe how we are connected. This helps me feel close to God -- linked -- in a meaningful way. Thank you, Lindsey!

  56. Thank you for this beautiful lift delivered in a warm and reassuring voice!

  57. Thank you! Yes, God is our constant companion. The more we let God choose our friends, those whom we may bless, and those whom may bless us, the more harmony we experience.

  58. Thank you so much...with all that's in the news today it so challenging not to get "linked" to despair...your lift is just what I needed, to remind myself of my one true link to my first, best fiend, God.

  59. A few years ago, I lost a connection that was very dear to me. But early in the grief, an angel message told me that all of the wonderful qualities expressed by that individual were mine to express, too! Because all good qualities have their source in God, who is infinite, they are not limited to just one person. I could not lose the gift of those qualities in my experience! They were now directly available to me. That inspiration--and my follow-through of expressing those qualities very specifically and consciously--led to a quick restoration of my equilibrium and well-being.

Thank you for all of the wonderful comments so far, and Lindsey, for this important Lift!

  60. I find this "lift" so refreshing because, as a father of 3 children, all of whom have flourishing Facebook accounts, I see my children's intrigue - if not obsession - with the sense of "connectivity" they strive toward with their peers in their "Facebook generation".

Much of the converging points - the "touch points" - focus on connecting with temporal - if not trivial - events - as well as with birthdays and with fleeting celebrations and passing opinions.

Ironically, as a father I often hear my children and other parents talk openly about the sense of "disconnect" in these children's generation and in modern society. Ironic, given the abundant access to communication technology and the instant access to others around the globe that these children are availed of.

Amongst the youth today, there is a recognition of a "disconnect" despite the luxury of modern technology. "Disconnect" is a very potent concept in our modern vernacular.

How refreshing then, to be reminded of the indissoluble connection!

A connection that can never become a "disconnect". One where there cannot be a "power failure" or a need to "reboot'.

A connection to that which is timeless and has nothing to do with age or birth or sense-based perception of fleeting human events. Truly, this is the only "connection" worth celebrating and rejoicing in, and I am most grateful for this reminder, Lindsey.

It also makes me glad to be consistently "connected" to the Daily Lifts on this website!

    Thank you.

  61. This lift totally remind me to attach the most importance to God as my Lovely "First and BEST friend", and my priority connection. It makes me calm and more confident. Thank you so much!

  62. Thank you, Lindsey, what a beautiful, helpful Lift. I shared it with my well-connected daughter, and I know she'll love it too:)

  63. I am one of the few people in this world not on Facebook or Twitter, but love to communicate thru e-mail. Still, it is nice to be reminded that our greatest connection is with our Father-Mother God whom we can communicate with at anytime, anyplace -- and be filled with an ever-present consciousness of good unfolding. Thanks, Lindsey, and many thanks to all connected with these Daily Lifts. Nate, I love the sweet guitar music.

  64. This is a clear and concise statement. Clear as a bell! A perfect way to start this day and every day.

  65. This lift reminds me of a hymn I heard in church called,"The Weaver" If you take the seven synonyms of God and weave them together with the four sides of the Holy City you have a righteous robe that can never be separated from our divine source. Thank you so much.!

  66. Love this lift and the little owls! Thanks so much

  67. Thank you Lindsey for this wonderful reminder of our inseparable connection with God and His/Her Love. It is always applicable, but especially relevant in this technological age, when so many are seeking connections through Facebook, Twitter, and other websites.

  68. Thank you so much for this helpful Lift. This message of "priority" connection is priceless.

  69. Your message is a WOW

  70. Being totally connected to God, only good, always, and feeling this and knowing we can never be
separated from our Creator, our divine Source , our constant and permanent source of goodness and opportunity is truly wonderful and satisfying and blesses one and all. I loved what you said Linsey. Thank you so much!

  71. Thank you so much Lindsey, for the helpful and nice lift.

  72. Think also of the help of church in bringing opportunities for service to our lives.

  73. So good....the ability to discern what other connections are needful of our time and attention! Thanks os much for this great lift, Lindsey!

  74. Good to hear a lift with sobriety & discernment. I have to keep God foremost in my thoughts notwithstanding the apparent or sensible reality which I believe is but the derivative of the true condition. We exchange things for thoughts, impersonally. That was one of the better lifts I've heard lately.

  75. This wonderful, many-layered lift certainly did more than just lift my spirits--it made me think more deeply about how to measure my relationships--based on my primary one with God. Thank you so much Lindsey!

  76. Yes, that's the true meaning of love always there to be protected, surrounded, bathed in it. We realize or are oblivious of it, the love connection with God is the first priority. Thank you for the loving reminder, dear Lindsey. Thank you.

  77. I listened in to begin my day and now have come back to once again, listen to this powerful daily lift. Thank you for it because I need to hold onto it, and know that loved ones aren't always available to connect in the way I think I need them to be.
I also want to thank no.60, Karim for the comments. Yes, Indissoluble connection. I really needed this today.

  78. Thank-you, Lindsey, for so clearly explaining my/our spiritual "priority connection" with God and how it effects relationships and daily life activities. Really enjoying the worldwide, insightful & 'connected' comments. Thanks to the DL team 'connection'. Love/love to everyone.

  79. Thank you.

  80. Thank you for this lift.

  81. Thank you, Lindsey, for “Connect with God … you have a relationship with God that keeps you connected to good … Mary Baker Eddy … described this as ‘the indissoluble spiritual link which establishes man forever in the divine likeness, inseparable from his creator ...’” As a computer instructor, I taught my students about “hypertext,” “hyperlinks,” or what is now more often called, “links.” When you’re using the computer and see your pointer turn into a hand, it’s an indication that you’re on a link. All you have to do is click and you’re immediately “transported” to wherever the link represents. Amazing! But, what’s even more amazing, even awe-inspiring is the realization that we don’t need a computer or any other technical device or symbol or indicator. And we don’t have to click anything to be connected to God, to good because we are, here now! Our manmade systems may go down or experience glitches. But with our “indissoluble spiritual link,” we’re already connected - always! And in an instance, with the immediacy of acceptance, we can enjoy being here now, guided and protected, permanently connected to the ONE and ONLY God/Good/Love-itself! :-)

  82. A vert special "little lift" and gentle reminder of God's caring love for us all.

  83. Wow! Great! Exactly what I needed to be reminded of today. Thank you.

  84. Thank you very much for the lovely lift!! No doubt God is our best friend; always ready, always available!

  85. LOVE THIS LIFT! Thanks so much for stating this so simply and beautifully.

  86. WOW! These thoughts are so beautiful! Thank you!

  87. Clear, concise, and so beautifully delivered. I feel so reassured today! TY Lindsey -- and also Karim (#60). Wonderful ideas to work with.

  88. I particularly like the term "purposeful energy to everything you do."

  89. Lindsey, I have listened to your daily lift three times and am so grateful for the wonderful
angel messages you have sent out into the world in need of those precious healing words
    of Life.

  90. Ideas that seize us, whether it's to sail the ocean blue, rocket shops to space, or to start a Social Network, are ideas from God, ready to be heard, that move humanity forward. And when we're ready for further progress we'll hear even greater ideas that move us along, onward and upward, individually, and that break down barriers, anything that would divide us, "for we be brethren." There is no disconnect with the delivery of these ideas to those ready to hear it. Mrs Eddy says that,“When Columbus gave freer breath to the globe, ignorance and superstition chained the limbs of the brave old navigator." FB has given a "freer breath" to the globe too, just like all ideas from God to man. It is essential that mankind be freer, less impeded, uplifted, for Mrs Eddy notes, “The necessity for uplifting the race is father to the fact that Mind can do it." This heightened interactivity reflects our better understanding of God and man. As we trust Him more, Mrs Eddy says, “We should forget our bodies in remembering good and the human race. Good demands of man every hour, in which to work out the problem of being.”
She goes on to explain, “Consecration to good does not lessen man’s dependence on God, but heightens it. Neither does consecration diminish man’s obligations to God, but shows the paramount necessity of meeting them.” As we draw closer to each other we get closer to Him, and vice versa. "The rich in Spirit help the poor in one grand brotherhood." (S&H)

  91. Thank you Lindsey so much for your tender words. It fits so nicely with our lesson sermon for this week titled, "Love."

  92. Meenu-2/6/2013

Thank you, Lindsey for this awesome daily lift.Truly, our first relationship and true connection is with God.Putting God on our priority list is only but very vital but also should come to us naturally. It is like putting first things first, just like the inspiration "seek ye first the kingdom of God...". our relationship to God is the highest and the most important relationship that we all have.

    Meenu: New Delhi, India

  93. Good points, Lindsey! Thank you.
