In answer to your question: "What gifts has God given you today?" I reply - This Lift, "Waking to God's Gifts." What a wonderful message. Thank you! I just read and listened to the Bible Lesson for this week, "Love." What a blessed gift Mary Baker Eddy gave us in designing such a great educational system which helps so much in our daily learning about God. How wonderful it is to Wake to this lesson each morning and carry it thoughout the day. I love it! And what blessed gifts are given via the Internet www.ChristianScience.com and www.Spirituality.com and others. They bring the so many wonderful and inspiring Christian Science presentations and resources into homes all around the world. What abundant and treasured gifts from God!

This precious podcast "speaks to every listening ear"~ A year ago on Christmas Night, my loved niece passed on, but I insisted in thought that she continued everpresent, ever filled with vitality, ready to communicate through spiritual sense, and bless all who knew her. At the ensuing Memorial Service in the home she loved God imparted to me the gift of "words that help and heal" to a large gathering. What fullness of joy we can know in realizing that "wholly apart from this mortal dream....(is) man, God's image, His idea, coexistent with Him- God giving all, and man, having all that God gives."(My.5:7-10)

Many thanks Brian for reminding us that: "All things work together for good [Love] to them that love God," is the dictum of Scripture." (S&H 444:4). "That the earth may be filled with/ the glory of God [Love] / As the waters cover the sea." (Christian Science Hymnal #82).

Thank you, Brian. This Lift, together with the Lesson Sermon this week, will certainly prepare us to receive all the good that is ours by divine heritage. Some of us flew to Melbourne this weekend, a long way to the south. So we prepared with prayer that the airlines were governed by divine Principle, and we could expect the flights to be on time, without delays or detours or hindrance of every kind. In my departure terminal there were four plane loads of passengers going to Perth in the far west, to Darwin in the north to connect with an international flight, to Sydney in the east, and to the Sunshine Coast. Yet the crews checked us in, steered us to our departure gates, and the planes took off on time, and arrived punctually with our relatives able to drive in, pick us up, and be on our way. Certainly prayer as we understand it in Christian Science presented us with harmony in our day.
Thank you Nate and the team; the BoL and lecturers; and the Daily Lift commenters with their contributions of further enlightenment and inspiration.

Dear Brian - thank you for your deep and clear message! To answer your question at the end: this is what impressed me most this morning in the lesson: "One moment of divine consciousness, or the sprititual understanding of Life and Love, is a foretast of eternity." (598) ONE MOMENT of divine consciousness !!! -- of being really conscious of the presence and activity of Life and Love ... This thought is so uplifting.
Thank you again

"Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures."
James 1:16-18 from the King James Version.
The same verses from The Message:
"So, my very dear friends, don't get thrown off course. Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven. The gifts are rivers of light cascading down from the Father of Light. There is nothing deceitful in God, nothing two-faced, nothing fickle. He brought us to life using the true Word, showing us off as the crown of all his creatures."
Thank you, Brian, for inspiring me to look at favorite Bible verses in a new way. Thank you, God, for this beautiful day filled with love.

Good morning Bryan. With Science in our life and God as the mentor we are grateful to know of His gift, "It is Love that paints the petal with myriad hues, glances in the warm sunbeam, arches the cloud with the bow of beauty, blazons the night with starry gems, and covers earth with loveliness", MBE, S and H, p.247. Each morning we awake with this knowledge and His blessing, witness to peacemakers on earth stilling error, goodness expected and granted by God. Gratitude to all lifters, to you Bryan and to all up early and doing the work, serving as well.

Good morning Daily Lift community. I missed you all over the long weekend. I listened to the lift from Brian in Berkeley again and again and finally wrote everything down in my Lift Journal so that the messages would sink in to my thoughts and being. Thank you for these gifts, lovely gifts. I love the concept that God individualizes his love for us with universal truth, that I am precious in God's eyes and worthy of all that he has designed for me. God only wants goodness for me, how could I think otherwise?
Thank you Elena for spelling out the qualities of God and their expressions in our daily lives. I like that and find it useful to elaborating, bringing greater meaning to terms for God I have heard all my life and not fully appreciated. I am ready to go deeper with the ideas that spiritual living and thinking offers, resting in the truth and activating my thought in God's direction . Leaning in to Love as my friend put it yesterday. We do not need to lean on one another and feel wearied. Just lean in to God, supporting and surrounding Love meets our human needs. Good day and many thanks.

What a Beautiful "Lift Gift", Brian! Thank you for the sweet inspiration this morning! So much Good and Love all around, but we must be willing to open our spiritual eyes to "see" it! I had a lovely experience on Sat. morning when I went in early to our laundry room at the apt. complex where I live. There was a woman in the laundry room who I knew had had a severe physical challenge over the past few months and had been in the hospital, close to dying. She is not a Christian Scientist, at least not in name! As we chatted, and she told me about her hospital experience, I mentioned the power of prayer and she readily agreed that it was the prayers of her friends and family that had pulled her through. Early that morning, upon awakening, I had heard in thought, "He will keep thee in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee." So I mentioned that scripture to her and she said, "Oh, that is my favorite scripture from the Bible and one that I used constantly while I was in the hospital!" Talk about a Gift from God! Thank You, God! Lovely Gifts to All today! XOXO

Very helpful to think God is speaking directly to us, in just the way we can understand it and need it for the day. It reminds me of the Pentecostal day when each one heard the message in his own language, tailor-made for him, in just the way he could understand it. Now THAT is divine Love at work, like the Shepherd in the 23rd Psalm. Thanks for the reminder, Brian.

When I got up this morning, I thought about going back to bed as I didn't feel ready for the day. God's gift to me was the most glorious sunrise with pink and gold clouds in beautiful formations blown by the wind. Now this Daily Lift is another present to get me moving and productive. Must get the lesson on to my Kindle to read this morning. It is really helpful to be able to get dictionary definitions as you are reading along. All these new technologies are more presents from God as expressions of the one Mind. Thank you for your message this morning, Brian.

Regarding #30 name, I failed to notice my name hadn't been retained. I have now studied this beautiful lesson on Love and would like to share a short note I have from an article, "What's causing my troubles" by Geoffrey J. Thank you Brian and the whole Daily Lift team. I now look so forward to starting my work reading these before I get started on anything else! And the comments just expand the lift so much, I am so grateful for this outpouring of ideas!
I struggle most mornings with waking up and before getting out of bed thinking of God and the day. It is something I try to do daily but often don't. However, today it came naturally and I thought about the wonderful day God had planned for me and how I work for Him, I am about my Father's business. The quote came in thought, "To those leaning on the sustaining Infinite, today is Big with blessings!" What a wonderful gift that is and ties in so well to your lovely lift today Brian! As Donna Fay said, it is wonderful how God speaks to each one of us in the way that we can understand and need it.
Also, thank you for sharing your story Bev from ID, you made me cry!
Love to all for a wonderful day.

Here is another gift for No. 52 (Anonymous). Every day is a special day, full of God's gifts of love for you to unwrap - the major one being that you are the beloved of Love and immortal, therefore you don't have to look forward to just one special day once a year. You can unwrap fresh new ideas to explore every day, and the infinite unlimited ability to use your God-given talents to express joy and dominion, and to share all the abundance of good which God is giving you. These blessings are pouring forth so that there is not room enough to keep them for yourself, and you can share them out liberally and lose out on nothing. These are God's presents (or the "presence" of continual good.)
Happy immortal every day to you- tral la la........
What a lovely lift for us all - many thanks to Brian and all the lifters.

Thank you for the question Brian, on my gifts of today, that were given to me. You know that kid's song " clean up, clean up, now it's time to clean up! " With Joy I cleaned the cat litter. And after dressing, I vacuumed the family room floor. My husband unload the dishwasher. And I said to him, " we are purifying" .
Then I raced to work, using the 7 synonyms of God. And made it at 7:15am with my boss and another man there waiting. But the gift of knowing, God is my boss, relaxed me. I did my job, and had enough extra time to pick up trash on the site. Clean heart...clean Mind...God is washing my thoughts and actions.
Thank you Dear lovely Elana and all daily Lifters. See ya later, I have to go clean out a warehouse today....spic and Span.....that is my Beautiful God....he loves Sqeaky clean! Because She is the Clean queen!...gotta laugh when you clean! Makes the joy soak in!

As a child we were taught to memorize scriptures and lately I am so grateful for my mother for having us do this; and thank you Brian for the reminder as well that these precious gifts help to silence the turmoil in thought and lead us through the challenges of the day. One precious gift that stands out to me is John 3: 16, "For God so loved the World that he gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Dear Grace # 45
in the German Bible from Martin Luther it says: "Seht, welch eine Liebe hat uns der Vater erwiesen, dass wir Gottes Kinder heissen sollen - und wir sind es auch!" You see, there it says "God's children"; but the wonderful thing to me is that it says we shall be called (named) children of God, and we also are this. I have always been thinking that in former times a Mr. Fisher was really a fisher, a Mr. Miller also was a miller, a Mr. Rosebush probably had a lovely rosebush in his front garden. And so the Bible, or rather John wants to tell us that we don't just have the name Children of God but that this is somehow our profession. Isn't that lovely?!
Thank you again, Brian.

A film I viewed last night included this quote, which most of us have heard and which the lift today reminded me of: “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.” ― Bil Keane.
There is only the beauty, goodness and harmony of God's kingdom, now present to govern and bless us, within and everywhere.
Almost all Bible versions besides the KJV use "children" instead of "sons" of God, in the I John citation Brian quoted.

Recently my husband and I were watching a television program featuring people's antiques. At the end of seeing all these valuable items and their owners, I lamented, "Why didn't someone in our family have any of these items?" Immediately I was corrected by the truth of my eternal gift, Christian Science. Greed was silenced and gratitude was felt!
This Lift is such a blessing. Thank you, Brian and our dear family of Lifters.

Sorry I know this Lift was from a couple of days ago... I saved it and have listened to it numerous times! I love your analogy of the excitement and anticipation of children on a Christmas Morning! That is my prayer for all of humanity that the Words of God will excite us moment by moment!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this daily lift!!!

The gift God gave me today, was seing the Mynah birds (who I usually shoo away) while I'm feeding my friendly sparrows, blackbirds and thrushes. They had thier youngers with them; the parents had brought them to a safe place .... who was I to discriminate? We learn every day, hopefully! xxx

- 1/23/2012In answer to your question: "What gifts has God given you today?" I reply - This Lift, "Waking to God's Gifts." What a wonderful message.

- 1/23/2012This precious podcast "speaks to every listening ear"~ A year ago on Christmas Night, my loved niece passed on, but I insisted in thought that she continued everpresent, ever filled with vitality, ready to communicate through spiritual sense, and bless all who knew her.

- 1/23/2012Many thanks Brian for reminding us that: "All things work together for good [Love] to them that love God," is the dictum of Scripture." (S&H 444:4). "That the earth may be filled with/ the glory of God [Love] / As the waters cover the sea." (Christian Science Hymnal #82).

- 1/23/2012Thank you, Brian.

- 1/23/2012Dear Brian - thank you for your deep and clear message!

- 1/23/2012"Do not err, my beloved brethren.

- 1/23/2012Good morning Bryan.

- 1/23/2012Good morning Daily Lift community.

- 1/23/2012What a Beautiful "Lift Gift", Brian! XOXO

- 1/23/2012Very helpful to think God is speaking directly to us, in just the way we can understand it and need it for the day. It reminds me of the Pentecostal day when each one heard the message in his own language, tailor-made for him, in just the way he could understand it. Now THAT is divine Love at work, like the Shepherd in the 23rd Psalm. Thanks for the reminder, Brian.

- 1/23/2012When I got up this morning, I thought about going back to bed as I didn't feel ready for the day.

- 1/23/2012Regarding #30 name, I failed to notice my name hadn't been retained. I have now studied this beautiful lesson on Love and would like to share a short note I have from an article, "What's causing my troubles" by Geoffrey J. - 1/23/2012Thank you Brian and the whole Daily Lift team.

- 1/23/2012Here is another gift for No.

- 1/23/2012Thank you for the question Brian, on my gifts of today, that were given to me.

- 1/23/2012Thanks so much Brian for this inspiring message. Susan Mack's hymn "Dalton" came to mind after hearing your lift. "I awake each morn to a brand new day, singing Hallelujah as I go on my way. For my heart is fixed on this one guarantee: the love that is all holds me tenderly. Tender mercies are holding me." God has unique and special gifts for each of His loved children today and everyday.

I awoke with the thought of all the things that needed to be done today and right away a foreboding sense of dread and worry began to envelope me. - 1/23/2012As a child we were taught to memorize scriptures and lately I am so grateful for my mother for having us do this; and thank you Brian for the reminder as well that these precious gifts help to silence the turmoil in thought and lead us through the challenges of the day. One precious gift that stands out to me is John 3: 16, "For God so loved the World that he gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

- 1/23/2012Dear Grace # 45
in the German Bible from Martin Luther it says: "Seht, welch eine Liebe hat uns der Vater erwiesen, dass wir Gottes Kinder heissen sollen - und wir sind es auch!" You see, there it says "God's children"; but the wonderful thing to me is that it says we shall be called (named) children of God, and we also are this.

- 1/23/2012A film I viewed last night included this quote, which most of us have heard and which the lift today reminded me of: “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.” ― Bil Keane.
There is only the beauty, goodness and harmony of God's kingdom, now present to govern and bless us, within and everywhere.
Almost all Bible versions besides the KJV use "children" instead of "sons" of God, in the I John citation Brian quoted.

- 1/23/2012Yes, this is my experience when I wake. I may not feel spiritual or inspired, but as I turn thought to God the gifts gently come to thought, and more come when I turn to the Bible lesson, Bible or our periodicals. This lift is such a gift. We each have this God-given purpose.

- 1/23/2012Hi Brian and all of my fellow Lifters,
My spiritual sense was wakened not only by the verbal gifts of this beautiful message and all the ensuing comments, but also in a significant way by the lovely guitar music at the beginning and end. Much appreciation to whoever composed and performed it.

- 1/24/2012Recently my husband and I were watching a television program featuring people's antiques.

- 1/24/2012Sorry I know this Lift was from a couple of days ago... I saved it and have listened to it numerous times! I love your analogy of the excitement and anticipation of children on a Christmas Morning! That is my prayer for all of humanity that the Words of God will excite us moment by moment!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this daily lift!!!

- 1/26/2012The gift God gave me today, was seing the Mynah birds (who I usually shoo away) while I'm feeding my friendly sparrows, blackbirds and thrushes. They had thier youngers with them; the parents had brought them to a safe place .... who was I to discriminate? We learn every day, hopefully! xxx
