Thank you John- what a beautiful Lift you have given us. God's love fills all space, throughout all time. It is found in the hearts of every man, woman and child. It neutralizes error and destroys sin, sickness, and death. It guards, guides, and nourishes us. It is what makes healing possible. Our expressions of love bring us nearer to its very source and to our true nature as a child of God. To express love and kindness in our daily lives is the very essence of our being. It demonstrates "God with us." To recommit to love is the most worthwhile of all human endeavors.

This Lift is such a blessing. I have an upcoming phone call with a loved one that I've been avoiding due, as I see now, to a false belief in a power apart from Mind.
"Conviction to a righteous cause is a strong force capable of overcoming even the most obstinate resistance" woke me up. The statement is an outcome of obedience to the first commandment, and its implications go to the heart and soul, the Truth and Love of each child's only identity, occupation and presence.
"...(T)he strength of our conviction is inspired and sustained by God...." Thus human will, a false concept in itself, is nullified. Bearing witness only to God's child is holy and above all doctrine, form and creed... entirely separate from the belief and dream of human experience. The realm of the real.
"Our devotion to God heals." Isn't this the willingness to let that mind be in us that was also in Christ Jesus and bearing witness to what is (God's complete, harmonious reflection), instead of that which claims to be?
"God is providing countless opportunities in our lives to love." Isn't this the work of the second commandment, the one that Jesus defined in the parable of the good Samaritan, thus instructing us from the beginning to love our enemies?
This Lift has helped me uncover the command giving "lie" or "liar" power. I hate lying and liars so much, I've inadvertently given those concepts undue power.
So, I'm recommitting to the first and second commandments and bowing down to Love.
Thank you.

John, Thank you,for this most inspired "Lift" The Article on "Love" page 249 of Misc, by MBE,is one of my favourite, spiritual jewels, the other is Hymn 291 CS Hymnal,"Quiet ,Lord my froward heart,Make me gentle, pure, and mild, Upright, simple, free from art; Make me as a little child, From distrust and envy free Pleased with all that pleaseth thee----------------.These spiritual gems,I hold most close to my heart. The hymn has three verses each includes the word "Child". These have brought much comfort,at trying times as I cherish"the silent ceaseless prayer;the self-forgetful heart that overflows;the veiled form stealing on an errand of mercy, out of a side door; the little feet tripping along the sidewalk;the gentle hand opening the door that turns toward want and woe, sickness and sorrow, and thus lighting the dark of earth.""Love. What a word!Over what worlds on worlds it hath range and is sovereign!Much love to you dear John and to all that are touched and blessed by these so inspiring Daily Lifts including the Daily Lift Team.Warmly and sincerely Nomvula Cape Town South Africa.

Thanks John for this inspiring message to "recommit to love." One of my favorite hymns is #136 and the first verse says:
I love Thy way of freedom, Lord,
To serve Thee is my choice.
In Thy clear light of Truth I rise
And, listening for Thy voice,
I hear Thy promise old and new,
That bids all fear to cease:
My presence still shall go with thee
And I will give thee peace.
God's will is done and it brings freedom not restriction nor burden. We are not deprived of any good by following in Jesus' footsteps and serving God. It eliminates all fear and His ever-presence will give us all peace. This entire hymn is just packed full of wonderful promises. Today and every day is certainly big with blessings.

Thank you, dear John Q.! You always exude such Love!!!! I am finding that often the first person I need to forgive and Love is myself. I usually am hardest on myself. If I can see myself as God sees and knows me, then I can let go of my own selfish concepts of myself and rejoice that I am and always have been the very evidence of Love itself! Then I need to go out and prove this identity in the world by acting as the Loved Being that I am and seeing and Loving all others as that same Loved Being. There really IS only One of Us Here!

Recommitting to Love is a wonderful prayer John and is something we can all do from moment to moment through our thought and deeds. Thank you so much for this message that so deeply touches all of our hearts.
2 Corinthians 5:6--8 "6. Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7. We live by faith, not by sight. 8. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord."
In every moment we can decide to be with the Lord. It is our continual re-commitment to Love.
Yesterday spending time with my son filled my day from moment to moment with joy. He told me that he could have turned on some New Year's football games but had decided instead to spend time with the Lord, listen for God's will and feel his love and protection. He had realized that so many of our activities are completely meaningless -- just substance-less noise filling time and space. Recommitting to love is exactly what he was doing. I had prayed that he would "tune in" and change the "material channel" that was filled with static as Ginny Ludeman described in a wonderful lecture along with Chet Manchester http://time4thinkers.com/the-music-of-your-life/. I prayed my son's thought would awaken to the music - God's music, his song, his unlimited Love.
As tribulations present themselves, trying to make us doubt, we can concern ourselves with many things -- but Love is really all that matters.

In the passage that John Q. Adams quotes in this Lift, I love how Mary Baker Eddy spells out what Love looks like...the secret errand of mercy. It shows that we CAN afford to leave our tasks and lists in order to help another. The person she describes probably did laundry by hand, cooked over a woodstove, and slept in a cold room, and yet was able to slip out to care for someone else.
I've been helped more times than I can count...is there any limit to the paying forward I might do?

I like the word recommit as you use the word in recommit to love. It reminds me to continue on the right track, and that we can to it with renewed energy and success. Thank you John.
Along this line the word "obliterate" came to mind, as in obliterate hatred. So, how do we obliterate hatred, evil images, specifically hatred of the spiritual idea?
I found the word used in Science and Health:
"Mortal mind judges by the testimony of the material senses, until Science obliterates this false testimony." (pg 296).
So our recommitment to love also includes a recommitment to be a witness to the spiritual idea, to God's obliteration of "false testimony", and putting a stop to the rehearsal of "false testimony".

- 1/2/2013Well, this is a “keeper”, John.
As I was listening to your words, I was reminded of quick quote which was lovingly shared with me by another. It is from CS Jrl. Aug 1955 article “This World of Infinite Love” by Julia M Johnston.
“The ceaseless flowing of divine affection is the life stream of creation.”
When we untie our canoe, we are committed and on our way!

- 1/2/2013This is the only New Year's resolution I need: to recommit to Love, to obey the two great commandments. And God does make it easy for us by giving us the opportunities.
Thank you for this beautiful quote from Mrs. Eddy, and thank you for your message.

- 1/2/2013Filled with gratitude for your words John that are so pertinent and helpful as i face a challenge that seems, to my mortal mind, so impressive and "obstinate". I also appreciated reading the comments. Such an afirmation of Good, and support for the conviction to following the path of Love, Harmony, Light.

- 1/2/2013Thanks John for this inspiring message to "recommit to love." One of my favorite hymns is #136 and the first verse says:

- 1/2/2013Thank you, dear John Q.!

- 1/2/2013Recommitting to Love is a wonderful prayer John and is something we can all do from moment to moment through our thought and deeds.

- 1/2/2013Love knows no hate, not even dislike. Love knows no impatience. Love has compassion, understanding. Love has no guile, no jealousy. To actually commit to Love is having all these attributes and then some blessing the whole human family.

The precious poem by Jill Gooding on the Three L's for Life also ends on Love.(Sentinel of Jan.14,2013).
The other L's are to Lean and to Let,a whole insppiring verse about each. I have noticed that the tune of
Hymn # 75 (God comes with succor speedy) fits every verse of her poem, so one can sing it at home.
Thank you,John, for lifting us high in today's Recommit to Love--- with so many ways to do so.

- 1/2/2013In the passage that John Q.

- 1/2/2013"Conviction to a righteous cause is a strong force capable of overcoming even the most obstinate resistance" caught my attention right away. This is a powerful Truth I'll love understanding and using more throughout my day and more. I shared this with someone very dear to me.
I am being more successful in thinking of others as God's perfect reflections with Love and have been able to overcome various challenges that want to say otherwise.

- 1/2/2013I like the idea of "recommitting" rather than "making resolutions" for this New Year. To recommit says to me that we are already committed, we're simply renewing our pledge, our alignment. And as you say, John, we're recommitting to love. I'm going to recommit to love today, and every day this year. Thanks for this great Lift!

- 1/2/2013I like the word recommit as you use the word in recommit to love.

- 1/3/2013My wife once answered to the query as to why she is always good to others with "I know no other way to be." To me, this is living love, God-like, Love with graceful compliancy. And so she does! Each thought leading to each and every action thus is recommitment to love. Hers is a painted canvass of beautiful, harmonious colors.
I am so very grateful to breathe in this landscape.
