Peace and reconciliation

Watch Ryder Stevens' lecture “Peace and reconciliation.” Filmed in Framingham, MA USA.

Ryder was a Christian Science Board of Lectureship member from July 1, 2005 – September 1, 2010.

  1. Just finished the lecture..Iwas totally captivated by it. I wish it was not over! I learned so much it was fascinating. Great stories, great lessons, great delivery.

I am now going to watch it again!! THANK YOU RYDER, this made my day!

  2. Thank you so much. It reminds me again of the importance of systematic prayer and that prayer is effective. Will certainly watch it again and will inform my friends from the Christian Theological University and Islamic University to watch it too.

  3. This lecture is so fantastic..so many wonderful ideas to use daily..what a blessing to listen to it. I will tell my Sister, and my entire family to watch this wonderful lecture by Ryder Stevens. so inspiring Ryder…Thank You.

  4. I’m very glad to have had the opportunity to see you in person, and listen again. So many good points made. You give it so much relevance for handling today’s problems. Thank you very much.

  5. Thank you Ryder, what a blessing to hear you lecture again.

  6. News on television and newspaper is so focused on exposing the corruption and wrong done by politicians that it makes one feel helpless about turning things around. Now I know how important it is to pray and see everyone as a child of God under His benevolent government incapable of doing any wrong and not accept the notion that evil has any power to overthrow Gods goodness.

  7. Loved listening to this again this morning. I heard it originally at the 92nd Street Y in New York City. So powerful, Ryder. Thanks.

  8. This lecture was great right on Ryder!

I had the good pleasure of being present at the Point Richmond CA. Lecture This lecture was given. Boy do I need a review of this lecture as I an in seeming conflict (not asked for) by my school district and my self. I will use it in upcoming negotiations with them.

  9. Thank you Ryder. I shall listen to this lecture, again and again. Much to learn from and practice daily.

  10. Thank you for this wonderful lecture. I liked the way you held up the Bible and then held up Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and said Science and Health is the Christian Science textbook and it does not replace the Bible. I also liked the idea you shared to tell someone to look at the marginal headings in Science and Health and explore the book using the marginal headings that interest them. I had not heard this idea before.

Thank you for making this lecture available to everyone on the internet!

  11. Thank you so much for such a wonderful clear presentation. I liked the mention of the marginal headings, I used to make a list of the headings in the lesson when I was reading to get a clearer view of the lesson some times. The making it clear our text book does not replace the Bible, and when Mrs. Eddy after asking for prayer during a war then asked for prayer to stop – I sometimes wondered about that. Just that expectancy that our prayer has been done now leave it to God to do the work! Wonderful, I will listen to this again, there is so much for us to use right now. Again thanks so much, what a treat.

  12. That was inspirational Ryder, thank you so very much.

  13. Love this lecture, Ryder!

    Grateful to have it online.

  14. Loved your lecture. How am I able to download to my IPOD?

  15. Thank you so much Ryder for this wonderful and inspirational lecture. I am going to listen again!

  16. Your lecture is an inspirational reminder of the best things we have learned in Christian Science. Thanks, Ryder

  17. This is an absolutely wonderful lecture. Ryder’s speaking style is firm and clear; even the setting is attractive! I learned A LOT from watching this lecture about what Christian Science really is. It’s all very simple, really: have no other god but God. God bless you, Ryder.

  18. I love this lecture because it shows how we all, representing different religious points of views, can pray to the God we all love deeply with our hearts and souls and minds and we can pray to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. And, I love knowing this makes us radical monotheists!

  19. Thank you so much. Refuse to be occupied of evil. Pray, give gratitude, and trust God — He’s got the job.

This helps to simplify what we need to do.
    The credit to wife’s prayerful
support is wonderful and instructive.

  20. I am so grateful to have found this message on my computer today. Ryder was scheduled to give a lecture here in Tallahassee. Fl. some time ago, and I missed the scheduled time. When I went to the Reading Room and asked how the lecture went, I was told that he had passed. I was so sorry to hear about that. However, because of him I have found the Lectures online, and have been so blessed!!! Thank you so very much.

  21. Thank you for leaving this lecture available online. The ideas discussed have been just what I needed tonight. With much gratitude…….

  22. unable to play this lecture
