What to give

Many individuals give to The First Church of Christ, Scientist, by simply contributing online or by mailing in checks. However, there are a number of types of assets that may also be considered in making gifts to the Church.

In the United States, there are special tax incentives that enable donors to magnify their support by contributing investment assets that have gone up in value, such as stocks or real estate. It may also make sense to leave tax-burdened assets to the Church through one’s estate, such as United States savings bonds and ultimate distributions from retirement accounts, which could cost your heirs both income taxes and estate taxes.
