I grew up in Christian Science, and I always loved it. After finishing my degree at the University of Chicago, Christian Science literally became my central focus of thought. When I was inducted into the army, I determined that I would be led entirely by God as to what I would do when I finished my two-year tour of duty. A Christian Science Chaplain was assigned to our post and asked if any of us had considered the full-time public practice as a lifework. At that moment I saw I could combine what I loved most –- my study of Christian Science -- with a service that was more needed in the world than anything else. I applied to be a Chaplain’s Assistant, and when this chaplain was transferred overseas, I was appointed as Christian Science Representative for the Armed Services. Upon discharge, I opened my office for public practice in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Eight years later I became a teacher of Christian Science.

Six years after that I was appointed to The Christian Science Board of Lectureship. For twenty-one years my wife, Rosemarie, and I traveled throughout the world where I gave lectures on five continents in both English and German.

I see my role of teacher as a spiritual friend who is always on the side of the pupil, supportive, caring, and guiding. The relationship is a bond that is eternal and consists of sharing love and understanding of the Truth. It is a holy work.
