Response to article "Prayer helps sick patients"

The front-page article this past Friday by Anne Ryman was greatly appreciated ("Prayer helps sick patients, ASU prof says").

As a lifelong Christian Scientist, I have found that prayer does work. The many opportunities to pray when facing a serious illness, or a business challenge, or a family dispute are just a few incidents where prayer met the need.

David R. Hodge's study that prayer, for ourselves or others, "has positive effects" should encourage others that prayers are answered and can be of great help.

Thank you, Ms. Ryman, for your encouraging article.
