I haven’t found there is anything more important than a growing understanding of God and our relationship to Him. When that’s the foundation of our prayers, those prayers heal.

My background includes three years of service as an officer in the US Army; graduating from Occidental College in Los Angeles with a degree in English; working in the family construction business for almost 20 years; building a teen center in a Southern California town and then counseling teens and learning about conflict resolution; serving on a college chaplain’s staff and participating in interfaith dialogues; and teaching Sunday School in a local detention center.

As you can imagine, all those experiences provided a multitude of challenges. Whether the problem was the rigors of the Army, an angry teenager, family or business problems, college tests, or the relief from physical disease, prayer proved invaluable in helping to find a safe and effective solution.

So in 1991, a year after the construction business closed, it was a natural step to enter the public practice of Christian Science where I’ve been able to continue exploring how to pray and to witness the power of prayer in daily life.

In addition to my healing practice, for the past few years I’ve had the opportunity to speak about God’s healing power to a variety of audiences throughout the United States and Canada. I’ve spoken to prisoners, the homeless, college students, and interfaith groups as well as the general public. The talks have taken place in museums, libraries, parks, youth centers, schools, gymnasiums, federal and county prisons and jails, homeless shelters, community centers, and churches.
