The biggest breakthrough in my life came when I realized that my thoughts were my friends. And if my thoughts didn’t feel like friends, they weren’t my thoughts!

How much I wish I’d known this earlier in life. My early adult life felt like a constant battleground, and I couldn’t even figure out how many different armies were fighting!

Learning to recognize the thoughts which assured me of God’s love and the thoughts that were useful to others brought not only more focus, but also more comfort and peace to busy schedules.

Sometimes it was balancing piano practice and editing my college newspaper. After graduation it was balancing a much-loved job at City Hall with my budding healing practice. Then it was balancing young motherhood with a growing healing practice. But more and more I can see that the primary demand is to accept the love of God for me that makes me stop looking to other people for love and instead find ways to love and bless them.

My quest in life is to help other people recognize the thoughts that are friends and supportive of their healing mission. How sure I am that God is loving us in a way that can help make the distinction.
