1. di-vanc Says:

How great is our God!

Thank you, Martha Moffett for reminding us we have a noble destiny and that intelligent Mind maintains our ability to fulfill this noble destiny.

2. Laurance Says:

Thank you Martha! Really great point — off to ponder now.

3. Elena desde california (San Diego) Says:

Thank you, Martha, your words just reminded me of Dr. Laurence Doyle lectures, he always said, “God is thinking us this very moment”. There’s no place where God is not. There cannot be a split second when God is not sustaining us, keeping us safe in His care. Science and Health, our invaluable textbook, tells us, “The only intelligence or substance of a thought, a seed, or a flower is God, the creator of it. Mind is the Soul of all. Mind is Life, Truth, and Love which governs all.” (S&H 508) That all, includes each one of us. And to assure us of His care she adds later on, “God fashions all things, after His own likeness. Life is reflected in existence, Truth in truthfulness, God in goodness, which impart their own peace and permanence.” (pg. 516)

4. Margaret, Sunshine Coast, Australia Says:

This Daily Lift really lifted me, Martha. How wonderful to align oneself from the position of our noble destiny. Held in place by Mind! Thank you very much.

5. Janet Says:

I love being reminded that we are all individual reflecting God’s individuality

6. KathyM Says:

This is so timely for many people! Thank you – my current job is coming to a close at the end of March so I’m going to stay with that thought, that my position is “maintained by Mind alone”. The daily lifts are such a blessing!

7. Calvin Says:

Thanks Martha for the reminder of where, and how, and why we live and move.

8. Debra Aupperle Says:

Dear Martha….Thank you for this daily lift of rejoicing. I am rejoicing that God is Mind. There is one Mind, it is the Divine Mind, It is my Mind and the Mind of my neighbor.

9. Mari Says:

Beautiful and practical ideas! Thank you, Martha, and thank you, Nathan, por your daily joy!!

10. Disa Says:

That was lovely – thank you

11. Teresa Says:

Thank you for sharing the good ideas

12. Ashley Says:

I needed to hear this..I got up at 1:30 a.m.I just couldn’t sleep, I was having difficulty “being still”. My thoughts were racing and ruminating over a hurtful relationship, and over a million things on my “to do” list. I listened to this wonderful lift, and I realize that God is “sustaining” me to meet every challenge that comes my way. Every challenge is like an opportunity to go up another rung on the ladder to get a grander view. God will sustain each step, so that we will be blessed beyond measure. I love knowing that God, my Mother, is holding me, sustaining me, and keeping me safe, and that She knows me, inside and out, and She loves what she knows. Now I can go back to bed, and know my life is sustained in safety, in love, in guidance. Thank you Martha.

13. Kuteesa, Jackson Says:

Thanks so much Martha! What an assurance, its such a wonderful reminder.

14. J.S. in Ky Says:

How delightful!, First, though, thank you, Martha. There’s much to soak in and use in the lift. Home & place are what I need to demonstrate. You’ve given me good thoughts to work with. I’m still telling people much I learned in your lecture in Ky. way back in April, ‘08. Next, thank The BOL for letting children participate in Church activities that include all so called “ages”. Just tonight, I mentioned to a CS friend, how children felt they were often overlooked in the past, & they are our Church & community’s future. Gratefully there’s more focus on them now. Children who feel they are a part of Church, and it a part of them, and who feel loved by everyone in the Church, will more likely be actively involved in Church when they are grown. I treasure my 1st memory, probably around age 2, waking up on a Church pew (not CS) beside my parents, who were standing and singing, “This is my Father’s World”. Somehow, I knew it wasn’t about either one’s daddy, but felt a vague knowledge of something spiritual. Previous conversations or events that I don’t recall, may have given that feeling, or maybe it was just given by the Father they sang about. Does the littlest copyright voice have a name you can give? We might get to read something from her in future Sentinels so it would be nice to recognize it. Nathan, no one mentioned your friendly question yesterday, because many of us were trying to master adversity. (I’m still trying, along with letting go, not to mention all the previous thoughts that mustn’t slip away, but be frequently, even continuously “recycled”). Thank everyone there for these lifts. After learning the hours and realizing we don’t know the half of all that has to get taken care of in order for us to get our lift, I realized that I don’t think I can appreciate you all more than I already do, so it means I just have more to appreciate. In addition to my gratitude and love for you and Julie, the moderator, the lecturers and the BOL, please express my gratitude & love to everyone else we don’t know or know about, including those who clean the place for you all, and would you please give my thank you to this little one?

15. Ada NDESO-ATANGA in Ghana, West Africa Says:

Thank you soooo much the announcers. And hello to the newest announcer on board. What a heavenly addition to the “Daily Lift” crew; welcome aboard!

Dear Martha, you have shared a deep and insightful message with us this morning for which I am very grateful. I thank all seekers of Truth who share their thoughts with humanity; we all prase GOD for HIS bounteous blessings that HE bestows on HIS creation.

16. Jackson from Brazil Says:

Thank you Martha for the beautiful inspiration. The sentence of the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures p. 90: 7-8, mentioned by you, is a divine law that provides the spiritual equilibrium of the universe and man in perfect harmony. Today we have a beautiful new voice in Daily Lift, is the new generation taking part – congratulations!!

17. Malcolm Drummond, Henrietta NY Says:

Thank you Martha for sharing this eternal truth, that “Mind, God. [infinite INTELLIGENCE], keeps you in your right place, and this [right] place is sustained by God [infinite INTELLIGENCE] alone.”

18. Klaus-Hendrik Herr, Berlin Says:

Wonderful food for the day, Martha! Thank you so much!!

19. Kay Says:

A good number of years ago another lecturer from St. Paul put a slightly different spin on Mind. i greatly appreciate the sustaining and grounded ideas you brought out. This lecturer said that God is constantly thinking us up. A very active Mind, indeed! TY all of you!

20. Lari Snorek-Yates Says:

That was so wonderful, Martha, exactly what I needed to hear after the Lesson this morning!

So glad these Daily lifts are happening!

21. Mary H Says:

Thank you, there are times when I need to be reminded that God is right here sustaining me and mine especially when the dog does not do what she is suppose to do and my husband thinks things are wet when they are dry. Moves things around and misplaces things and then they cannot be found. I need to know and remember that there is one Mind govering us,

22. June Mary Says:

Thanks, Martha, very reassuring right now. Love to everyone.

23. Claire from South Africa Says:

Thank you for this wonderful lift ! So timely and appropriate – I have just returned from a prayer meeting in the local Protestant church in our village – we need rain desparately so that the large crop of apples will come to fruition – how wonderful to know that ‘God sustains the earth..’ – just such wonderful afirmation that ‘Divine Love always has met and always will meet EVERY numan need’ !! Thank you , thank you – my prayers will now have another aspect to them

24. Sharon L from Toronto Says:

Awesome idea Martha! Thank you.

And Nate, who’s you’re new helper?! :-) Sounds adorable!

25. patty Says:

Wonderful…thank you! What I needed to hear this morning.

26. Marjory Says:

Thank you, Martha, as sustainability seems upper most in thought today. How reassuring to know that we are God’s and always subject alone to His law of good and Principle! The oneness and allness of Mind buoys us.

27. Stephen Pierce Says:

Mind maintains because is always aware of what’s going on. God is constantly watching on us and given us intelligent ideas without limitations.

28. Vicky from Darien Says:

Thank you ,Martha for this powerful reassurance of our place and ability, dependant soley on God, Mind, who loves us, each one’

29. Bev Newsham – Sandpoint, ID Says:

What a refreshing addition of a cute, little voice! Yes, I’ve been struggling with an organization who has some members who seem to be expressing a lack of Integrity on an issue that concerns my well-being. I woke up this a.m. realizing that I need to turn this over to God and stop fighting the error! As it says in the well-known 12-Steps, Step 3: “Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God, as we understood God.” As we learn in CS, this means that we completely let go, trusting that Mind has all under Its control and everything is in its right place. I know that I will either be lifted out of this organization or the members will be guided to a higher sense of Integrity. I can be content that God is in control! Thanks, Martha!

30. Carole P Says:

Perfect!

31. Carra Riley Williams, AZ Says:

What enables you to find the inspiration that sustains you?
Mind/God knows where we need to be and keeps us in our right place.
Just what I needed to start my day and stay on the right path! Thank you

32. Beatrix from Berlin Says:

Thank you , Martha, for your thoughts. What touched me most about this Daily Lift, though, was the wonderful anouncenment by the child at the end. How refreshing! Thank you very much, little one!

33. Robert in Brunswick Says:

Thank you Nathan and Martha for something to think on while sipping my hot cocoa.

34. Brad from Houston Says:

Thanks, I love that “place”!

35. Bob Says:

Beautiful! Spoken with the authenticity and authority of having proven what you spoke of.

36. Debbie from Chestnut Hill Says:

Thank you for reminding me, Martha, that we cannot be out of our right place. We are right where we need to be – this moment.

I love this passage written by Mrs. Eddy: Into His haven of Soul there enters no element of earth to cast out angels, to silence the right intuition which guides you safely home. (Mis. 152:26)

Our home is maintained by divine Mind and our place is always secure in divine Mind.

Thank you! Very helpful.

37. Louise from Wisconsin Says:

Dear Martha,
Thank you so much. I am still waiting to sell my home and wondering when our move will happen. I pray daily not to outline or be afraid; that Love does guide us and is our true home. Your ‘lift’ today was so supportive…like a wonderful friend encouraging me! Thank you!! and much love.

38. Abbie Says:

Thank you, Martha, for the great lift. I love the idea that sustained can mean each of us is tenderly held and supported, or even lifted up, by God in a unique and perfect position.

39. Anne S., Nova Scotia Says:

I have been thinking a great deal about ‘place’ of late. It is so comforting to hear about God’s particular care, of His sustaining us — in our “right place.” I will continue to work on this wonderful thought…Many thanks to you, Martha, Nate and our fresh young voice!

40. Betty Says:

Wonderful thought for the day. Thank you Martha. Loved the little child being a part of the Daily Lift today. How wonderfly sweet.

41. S.A Says:

Years ago I read in a Sentinel article – HOME – Harmony of Mind Expressed. Your Lift made me think of it again! Thank you.

42. GENE STIRLING Says:

43. Jan D from St. Louis Says:

I feel so loved and cared for….thank you Martha and all of you at TMC who help make these lovely Daily Lifts possible. And thank you to the precious little one who made the announcement at the end of today’s lift. “…and a little child shall lead them.”

44. Joan G. Says:

Wonderful message! I loved hearing that sweet little voice at the end, too.

45. Jan J – Grass Valley, CA Says:

Thank you so much for the reminder that we indeed can never be out of our right place, no matter where we are, or even who we’re with. And He is sustaining our individuality in protection, productivity, and always in Love.

46. Maureen from Spearfish Says:

I add my thanks to this lovely chorus, appreciating the reminder that we are intelligently, thoughtfully, sustained by God, the great Thinker. And oh, my . . . THANK you for the sweet voice at the end of the announcements, reminding me that I, too, am a beloved, innocent child of God.

47. Cathy Says:

Thank you.

48. Alane Says:

These “Daily Lifts” are a powerful force going out into world thought…a perfect example of “seed sowing” (Matt 13) — this weeks Bible Lesson on Christian Science. The addition of the “childlike thought” to your announcements is inspiring and very refreshing.

Thank you Martha for your truly inspired “lift”.

49. Chrissie Brown Says:

Thanks so much Martha for this strong message reminding us that man and the universe are sustained by God, Mind, alone. I love the depth of your Daily Lift.
Cute little voice at the end!! :) Love, Chrissie

50. Martha Says:

Thank you, Martha, for this beautiful thought to ponder that Mind keeps us in our rightful place and sustains us.

51. Cathy from Oregon Says:

… and now I’m ready to start my day . .. . “lifted” once again! Thank you!

52. Warren Says:

Thanks SO much for this wonderful lift, Martha!
It strengthens the basis for our theme of gaining and retaining a spiritual sense of Sustainability!

53. Karen, Santa Fe Says:

Thank you, Martha, and all who contribute. Revelation, reason, and demonstration shared with us, where ever our “position” on the globe. I listened to this one several times and got more each time. Delightful to be told so sweetly and emphatically that “the First church of Christ, Scientist (is) in Boston!” Yes! A rich history on place, purpose, and position sustained.

54. Jim Dalrymple Says:

Thank you Martha! Financial circumstances (good or bad) are not a validation of one’s standing in God’s eyes. Our place and position is secure and permanent in Mind.

55. Dorothy Says:

Lovely reminder, Martha. Thank you!

56. R. S. in MA Says:

Thanks for reminding me of my Noble Destiny, and that God is always showing me my way and purpose. Wow, I have a noble destiny…That is so cool. thanks Martha.

57. Pamela in NY Says:

Thank you, Martha.

The message in this Daily Lift + today’s Article on Christian Science in The Christian Science Monitor, “Enough to go around” = a great pair!

58. Helena Says:

Thanks Martha, beautiful lift! and the voice of the child makes it even more special!
We are indeed sustained by our beloved Father-Mother God and staying in Mind, we will always be in our right place!!

59. Dennis de San Diego, California Says:

It is so comforting to know that “I” am not running the show but that God is!!!
cheers
Dennis

60. Carrie from Cali Says:

I love this message, Martha.
It is natural for us to know God as the Creator. Then, somehow, we are challenged by the suggestion that WE are doing the maintaining of this identity, which would lead us to believe God isn’t directing all activity. I love the reminder from Science and Health, “The divine Mind that made man maintains His own image and likeness.”
Spiritual sense gives us the confidence to know and witness divine Love in action, always and in all ways.

61. Elaine from Toronto Says:

Like Laurance, I went away to ponder, And so it seems that not even for one nanosecond are we out of Mind’s control and watchful, loving vigilance. We are ever reflecting, cannot help doing that, impossible to step out of it. Wow. What a debt we owe to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy for persevering through her many mighty trials. I cannot say anything more, I am just overwhelmed by these thoughts.

62. Marilyn from Idaho Says:

Cute , little thing, thank you.

63. Rae Says:

It’s so nice that more lecturers are taking part in providing inspiration to the daily lifts. Each one brings something unique and wonderful. A beautiful rainbow of colors.
Thank you to all who have contributed.

64. Helen Says:

Thank you for your wonderful lift to start my day.

65. Kathryn from AZ Says:

The Great I AM must be reflected in greatness!

66. Olivia Says:

I appreciate the uplifting reminder of my noble purpose for being here — my destiny. To fulfill Mind’s mandate, not my own useless human will.

I also appreciate the way Nate Fredericks is fulfilling HIS destiny — with a new and fresh “WELCOME” repertoire. His single “Hey” is just as endearing as the double “Hey Hey” or the triple “Hey Hey Hey.” And the lilting bird-song-like voice of the child at the end is precious!!!!

For some reason what came to mind as I listened was the February Christian Science Journal by Susan Booth Mack about how she struggled with worry and fear about income when she was a young Christian Science practitioner with a newborn. As she watched her baby nestled softly in her arms, without a care in the world, she realized that she, too, is always embraced and comforted and loved by our Father-Mother God.

What a blessed relief to know that we are all secure and safe as we fulfill divine Love’s wonderful plan for Life! :-)

67. John in Chico Says:

That’s an excellent thought, Martha!- We’re always in our right place, and where we happen to be, is mostly the right place at the time.

68. Shell Says:

Sharing like this is beautiful—

Man is the embodiment of God’s love and harmony being shared, and this website is an evident harmonious demonstration of that….

Yours Truly,
Shell

69. Phyllis Says:

Thank you Martha for this Lift!

70. Lisa Says:

I agree with Bob #35 this lift is beautifully spoken with authenticity & authority of having proven the ideas. I found the passage quoted in S&H page 90:7 and read the whole page for context. I love the ideas expressed there and reasoned for myself how I can know these ideas to be true and sustaining. I begin my reasoning with Genesis 1’s revelation of God, the universe and man, wholly spiritual; from that standpoint it stands to reason that Mind’s ideas are in accord with the Creator. They can’t move outside of or beyond the reach of omni-present good. I cannot be put under any circumstance beyond Mind’s control. The suggestion that there’s another power to cause a disruption of God’s active goodness is the belief that man and the universe is Spirit and matter co-mingled. This belief is temporary. It says that either God has made man capable of having substance that can be diseased, deteriorate, or die; or that man is just material substance which is susceptible to the ravages of time. Again, this is a belief based on a mistaken view of God and creation. Life is spiritual, and as we turn from belief to reason and understanding, we can recognize God’s view of us, his delightful, spontaneous, creative, vigorous, full of promise – children. The next sentence in that paragraph on pg 90 gives me my marching orders, and the following sentence gives me the promise of obedience. Being is spiritual and death is obsolete; which means it is no longer of use. I love that! Now it makes sense to me. Now I get to practice this spiritual idea, thought by thought, healing by healing.
Thank You Martha, and all!

71. Anonymous Says:

Thanks, Martha!!!!

72. Margy Says:

Thank you. This is very helpful as one contemplates transitions (or not).

73. Chestnut Booth Says:

Wow Martha, we don’t often read that sentence about the earth’s position and motion being sustained by Mind very often! When you said it, I actually wondered if I had ever read it! But of course I recognized the paragraph when I looked it up. Thanks for helping us spiritualize our thought about our individual positions. This also makes me realize that in all my love of the sustainability concept in human environmentalism, I haven’t spiritualized my concept of it with good Concordance work! Think I’ll go do that now!

74. Mom D Says:

Good to hear from you, Matha, and thank you for your message of Who and What sustains us all in our right place. As the precious hymn reminds us ” In atmosphere of Love divine, we live and move and breathe” and are sustained.

75. Laura – Orange, CA Says:

Hi Martha,

So happy to hear the clear ideas in this lift that you and your family members so beautifully demonstrate. It’s that proven demonstation that underscores its spriitual power for me.

And Nathan–Julie got the day off? loved our newest lifter as well–thanks to you all.

76. Jim Says:

Thank you for the wonderful ideas shared in today’s lift. It is very comforting to know that as children of Mind,God, we are always in our rightful place, and constantly maintained and sustained by divine Mind. I am also grateful for the comments shared, and for all involved in the production of these daily lifts.

77. Peggy A. Says:

Thank you Martha for this clear and loving idea of one’s place..the how and why..
and the fulfilling of our noble destiny.

78. Lisa in Alaska Says:

That beautiful little voice at the end made me realize we are all God’s children and I can see everyone as that pure and childlike.
Thank you.

79. Carol F. Missouri Says:

Much gratitude to you Martha for assuring us that we are sustained by God’s Love and that will take away the fear.
Hugs of Peace,
Carol

80. Kathy Says:

Mind does keep us in our right place. My husband and I had three days to house hunt in another state, because he had a job change. I remember clearly him saying we are watching for God’s unfoldment not just looking for a house. Someone at his work had recommended a realitor. After seeing several houses I asked her if she might be willing to drive by the church our family would be attending. She asked which church is that , I replied
First Church of Christ, Scientist. She smiled, looked at me and said without hesitation, I am a member of that church for l8 years and will be happy to drive you there! I replied, wow, when God provides, he provides! Within 2 days we had found our home and I am delighted to say have lived here happily for over 25 years now. Mind unfolds all that is good for all of us each moment.

81. Wayne in Penn Valley, CA Says:

With the earth’s position and motion being sustained by Mind, it sort of gives an expanded definition to GPS: God Positioned and Sustained, for each and every one of us, including all aspects of our lives.

82. sylvia Says:

Thank you Martha for that wonderful reminder that God keeps us in our right place.

83. Marion Says:

Thanks, Martha, for lifiting thought to all that divine Mind holds
for each of us to answer the questions in our Bible Lesson;..
“Am I living the life that approaches the supreme good? Am I
demonstrating the healing power of Truth and Love?” Trusting
our loving Creator, Mind, to maintain and sustain our willingness
and ability to answer “Yes” to this noble destiny will bless society
with infinite healing proofs of our Leader’s vision.

84. Nena Says:

I am so delighted and so inspired to listen to this daily lift three o’clock in the morning. The minute I heard Mind God, I’m feeling so safe, knowing and being reminded that matter does not sustain but only Mind God. God does not change and never stops sustaining his children, you me and His whole family nobody is lift out. Thank so much dear Martha.

85. J.Carol Says:

Each day I look forward to our Daily Lift. This morning it was especially helpful after a restless night of concern for family members. What a help it was to be reminded what is real about each of us. I was especially grateful for the little child who said the name of our dear church correctly, and recognized the comma Mrs. Eddy put after “Christ” and before “Scientist”. Thank you, Nate, Martha and all the lecturers who bring this morning refresher to us.

86. Gretchen in Portland, OR Says:

Being raised and surrounded by God’s Love with three generations of Christain Scientists in our family, I feel so blessed to read the replies to each daily lift. They are so thoughtful and complete and insightful. I feel as though I am working with handfuls of practitioners with the click of my Daily Lift email. Thank you to God for blessing us all with each other.

87. J.S. in Ky Says:

To #23, Claire from South Africa: Please ponder Psalm 93: 4, “The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.” That verse stopped the worst forest fire we’d seen in our mtns. Instead of stopping at roads & creeks, these flames leapt them. They were everywhere, except behind us. Everyone in that county prayed for rain, but we prayed to know God would meet our need (expecting rain). The worst night, fire advanced toward our front road. Months of vigilance & prayerful study after seeing a trailer fire below us, hadn’t brought healing of fear of fire. Then, I found those verses. We didn’t need rain! God was greater than rain, as much as the sea waves. The flames burned in the same line all the rest of the night, but didn’t advance at all! It was like Moses’s burning bush, burning but not consumed! Later the next day, rain came, and all fires went out. The verse brought rain to our garden years later. Many counties around needed rain badly. I realized that verse was the answer. Driving home, we found our property had gotten rain, even though we prayed for everyone. One dry summer before finding the verse, no rain came after beans were planted. We knew our needs would be met, and fogs sprouted the seeds and grew the beans. No over harvest, but we had fresh picked beans to eat. Don’t outline rain must be God’s provision. That verse is what I’m going to know for your country.

88. Cici from Los Angeles Says:

Your beautiful lift for today immediately reminds me of what Mrs. Eddy says on her very first sentence in Science and Health, “To those leaning on the “sustaining” infinite, today is big with blessings”. So, I am rejoicing right now to know that God alone, our Creator, sustains us in our movement, in our lives, and in our being. I am supremely grateful for my increased understanding of this precious Science of the Christ. Thank for your lovely message for the day!!!

89. nate Says:

hey, hey,

Glad ya’ll liked the copyright from one of our cutest Mother Church friends today! Love and thanks to everyone who comments on – and lives – the wonderful ideas shared on this program.

God knows exactly (not perhaps here or maybe there) where we ought to be and He keeps us securely in our right place. Exactly and securely. Love that thought!

Thanks to Nathan, also, for his daily uplifting and joyful welcome!

I look forward each weekday morning to my Daily Lift!

92. anonymous Says:

#Nate, I had to go back and listen to the whole thing again, I always swtich it off after the hought and never listen to the end blurb- so I missed the lovely gifted new kid on the block doing it soooooooo well. Congratualtions. he never told us his name. Could you thank him from us as well?

Martha your Daily Lift is FANTASTIC- REALLY powerful. Thank you all of you for making our day so special. From now on I will listen right to the end, incase you have other nice surprizes for us Nate;)

93. Susan Carol Says:

Mind knows me and keeps me in my right place ! Love it! Love the little child too! No coincidence that another little voice filled me with joy today also, My newest granddaughter, Hayley! Thanks ever so much Martha! Great thanks to all commenters, especially J.S. in Ky. Thanks lots for what you all share, Very grateful indeed!

94. Maria Elvira – Brasil Says:

Thank you Martha, for your inspired lift!
And today with something even more special, the cute little voice, so full of enthusiam, joy and purity!
Thank you also Nate, for your nice innovation at the end of the lift!

95. JD Says:

Thanks for the lift and comments.
I like that idea from Science and Health, “The earth’s motion and position are sustained by Mind alone.” What a powerful thought for Haiti also.
# 21-I’ve found 1Corinthians helpful. Also, Phillipians 2:5, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” Mrs. Eddy refers to this idea in the first part of the 6th tenet of Christian Science which I need to do more often. “And we solemnly promise to watch, and pray for that Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus…”(S&H, p. 496:28-2, p. 497:24)
# 23-We’ve had problems with drought in the southeastern part of the United States. At one point, in 2007, even the government leaders were initiating public prayer meetings about it. There were also problems with sharing what little water was available between the different states that all wanted their rightful share. There was alot of prayer about it. A climatologist named David Stooksbury said “we have actually classified it as an exceptional drought. Basically it is the type of drought that we expect to see about once in 100 years.” Since then, it has rained so much that there have been problems with flooding. The lakes, rivers and reservoirs that were empty or very low are now full and overflowing. This didn’t seem possible from looking at the material picture of how things were. Now, the states aren’t bickering about who gets the water because nobody wants so much anymore. It was humbling to see politicians kneeling in public places and praying about it.
I Kings 18:41-45 records a healing of drought by Elijah. Jesus said, ..”The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” (Luke 18:27)
The following account about Mrs. Eddy is written by Sue Harper Mims in We Knew Mary Baker Eddy, p. 124, 1979 edition. It helps me to understand Psalms 23:1. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
“When first establishing this Cause,” I recall her saying, “I needed money, but I have now learned that “God is with me, that He gives me everything, and I cannot lack.” A little later she added, as I recollect, “When you stand before a mirror and look at your reflection, it is the same as the original. Now you are God’s reflection. If His hands are full, your hands are full, if you image Him. You cannot know lack. I have learned now that He does give us everything.”
Page 156 of Christian Healer(1997 edition) is good also. I’ll pray about it also.

Great ideas Martha and it was a pleasure to meet you at Berkley Hall last weekend. Everyone…..get to one of Martha’s lectures if available.

97. Martha Moffett Says:

Thanks to all who contributed comments about the lift today. It was such a revelation to see that it is Mind that sustains us – God as infinite Mind knows HIs ideas and it is through this Mind’s knowing that we are sustained. Not by economic circumstances, good government decisions, luck, chance, mortgage rates, etc., but by Mind’s knowing of His own ideas. He has given each one of us a noble destiny, and it is through His knowing of our individuality and His supporting of that individuality — through His thoughts — that we are sustained in our holy purpose. Mary Baker Eddy teaches us: “Spirit duly
feeds and clothes every object, as it appears in the line
of spiritual creation, thus tenderly expressing the father?
hood and motherhood of God. Spirit names and blesses
all. Without natures particularly defined, objects and
subjects would be obscure, and creation would be full of
nameless offspring, — wanderers from the parent Mind,
strangers in a tangled wilderness.” Science and Health 507:3

Thank you Martha for this great reminder that we are never separated from our Maker and Creator-God. Man is not matter but a spiritual idea in Science and time and space are infinite. Nice to hear your voice again.

This was so good and delightful with the child closing that I sent it on to three friends that I have given copies of Science and Health this past year. I am forwarding the Daily Lift to family members every day.
