Thank you, Marta!

2. Joe Beckwith/Genoa, NV says:

Wow! What a WAKE UP call this thought is. Thanks. Clearly I have lots of work to do to push all the fear and doubt aside but it’s equally clear that it just needs to be done. Thanks again Marta. And many Blessings!

3. Amy says:

Really nice! Thanks.

4. Kate says:

Thank you for this beautiful thought…

5. Michelle in Paris says:

Really helpful and clear! Thank you!!!

6. Marta Greenwood says:

In Genesis Chapter 1, there are 10 “let”
Gen 1:3
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Let: haw-yaw’ (Hebrew)- Definition from Strong’s exhaustive Concordance of the Bible: to exist, that is, be or become, come to pass, cause, come (to pass), continue, happen,

The Message, Bible in contemporary language: God spoke: “Light!” And light appeared.

Christ Jesus said:
Matt 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

John 14:1
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Rom 12:9 Let love be without dissimulation.

Phil 2:5
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Col 3:15 …let the peace of God rule in your hearts,

Col 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom;

Col 4:6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt,

Heb 13:1 Let brotherly love continue.

James 1:4 … let patience have her perfect work,

7. Pierre from Geneva CH says:

Dear Marta,
Thank-You for such a great Lift, it is so simple to just ” Let go and let
God ” ; too often I still do believe that I need to do certain things myself, because I am afraid of trusting my plans to God. After this lift it is like flying into reality into freedom into God’s arms. Thanks for reminding me of the Light and the Good which God always provides.

8. Ann K London UK says:

Thanks Marta Yours is a powerful message to set us on our way this Monday morning. It assures us of God’s presence and loving care at all times.Ann K.

9. Pamb says:

Beautiful, very symbolic and inspiring. Thank you
you so much and thank you very much for
the wonderful Daily Lifts.

10. Malvika……….. says:

Such a soothing yet powerful thought “TO LET GO” the darkness in your life!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just dorp the idea that you r in pain or tangled with problems here and now.And know that your free as God created us!! and just the way ‘Marta’ expressed so beautifully that we should’nt be afraid to move ahead worring about the future or outcomes coz God is there for you to hold you ,support you, advice you and lighten your path .So why to b afraid when God is with you.
Thankyou Martha such a great inspiration!!!!!!!!

11. David Barker says:

Thanks, Marta

A lovely picture of that tiny bird! We’re that tiny when we are unwilling to let go of mortal opinions, but when we do, wow! we grow immediately and can fly because we are free to express all of God’s qualities that we need.!

12. Maurice Dawson says:

Marta

Let go – for God – wonderful – thank you

13. Paul – Sydney, Australia says:

Thank you so much for this very telling message. It is very timely for me right now.

14. Rose says:

Thank you, Marta

15. Angela Inglis says:

Marta, I love your little bird. Such simplicity in the image, but such depth. Thank you.

16. Adrienne says:

Thank you so much for sharing this. What a lot of fears would keep us immobile like that little bird, when letting go is the very way that will enable us to demonstrate our freedom.

17. Jackson from Brazil says:

Wonderful. “Let there be light”! What a wonderful way to start a week! Thank you Marta. The new opening song of Daily Lift is very beautiful!

18. Marilyn in Mallorca Spain says:

Thank you, Marta! What a wonderful, freeing thought! This reminder is perfect for me to start the day.

19. Joan Wattam says:

Dear Marta, thank you for the simplicity of this healing thought! When we ‘let’ God (and anything else is error), we are allowing Truth to be all that it is, in each situation – and we are soaring with the eagle! Thank you again dear Marta!

20. Robin from Milwaukee says:

I’m so grateful for this thought of letting go of what we expect to be part of us but really isn’t. It’s been the cherry on top of my prayer this morning to be obedient to God’s direction for me even though it’s not the comfortable thing. It’s a push – but it only means getting past fear and knowing the great amount of good that’s coming next!

21. Robert, England says:

Let me thank you for that Marta and the above Bible references – so helpful and uplifting

22. Betty says:

Thank you Marta. I love the thought of the mother bird teaching the little one to “Let go” and that everything will be alright, and knowing God is giving us just what we need ” freedom” from our fears today and always.

23. Jenny says:

Thank you Marta. This message means so much as I feel I am facing a huge challenge. Letting go of fear is perfect for my thought for today. Thank you once again.

24. margaret says:

thank you

25. Sher says:

The little bird had everything he needed within him to let go. He just didn’t feel it or see it yet. It all comes back to trust. to let go and trust the God given wings, the force of the wind around, the beauty of the day all working in harmony together for the bird to take flight. Thanks for the mother urge.

26. Malcolm Drummond, Henrietta NY says:

Thank you Marta for those inspiring thoughts. “God [intelligence] knows the way forward…God [divine Love] is revealing good to us every second [instantly].”

27. Jane says:

Thank you, thank you, just what I needed to hear this morning.

28. Julia says:

Awesome! Thank you, Marta!

29. Lorraine in Dayton, Ohio says:

Dear Marta, Thank you for sharing. Let has always seemed to me to be one of the biggest words in the English language. One time I asked God just what “let” meant and the answer came back in the form of an acronym: Love
Everlastingly Triumphant. That has helped me to better understand “Let that mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” Sometimes easier said than done….but with God all things are possible. Right?

30. Jack says:

Marta,

Thanks so much! Human outlining is so ingrained. We’re admonished that If we don’t look after ourselves, who will? To let go and let God puts aside both willfulness and fear and really sets us free to see the beautiful outcome God has already prepared.

31. Diane says:

I appreciate and am so helped by both the lift and the comments #6. I am reminded that Mary Baker Eddy uses the word “let” in some pretty powerful ways as well. I can certainly use the thought of allowing God to take the controls (since Hs really does, anyway) today or any day. Thank you.

32. Susan says:

Wow! There are so many things that these thoughts can be applied to. Thanks for your additiional comments, definitions and quotes which pointed this out so very clearly. Researching this further would be a good project and it begins with the nudge off the branch!

Thank you Marta and thanks to all. These lifts are such a wonderful wake- up call each morning.

33. Elena desde california (San Diego) says:

Like always, Marta, a beautiful way to wake up, thank you for your loving thoughts. I love the idiom I learned in Christian Science, “Let go, let God”. Let go of human opinions. “It’s hard to kick against the pricks” as Jesus told Saul, and by doing it we hurt ourselves, stop fighting God’s guidance!. In Bible times the soil tillers used a punishing devise to poke the oxen to control it. When the animal disobeyed a goad will prick the ox, the animal would fight this prick by kicking over and over and hurting themselves. .
Sometimes we are so attached to our own opinions (because our limited sense of what is right doesn’t let us see further than our noses) that we might be missing a wonderful way out of an uncomfortable situation. When we stop “fighting” God and allowed His infinite wisdom to guide us, Love permeates our being

34. Shelagh; Scotland says:

Thank you Marta! Let go and let God, just the wake-up call I needed for today, your inspiring and energetic Lift is just the up draught my thought needs ;-)

35. r.g.d.,Brunswick, Maine says:

Thanks Nathan and Marta
I like the part of Abraham’s story when he separates and leaves his nephew Lot, giving up the fertile material earth in obedience to what had already been God’s initial command to leave everything behind.

36. Dean, Munroe Falls , OH says:

Thank You !

37. Lisa from London says:

What a wonderful message you gave us today dear Martau ! Just the reminder I needed of what i need to do more and more every moment

And then that wealth of biblical citations showingf us ot how that little word “Let” can be a completely transforming power in our lives!!!
With much gratitude for your total comitment and dedication to the cause

Thank you again,

38. Tom Evans, Sr. says:

Dear Marta:

Many thanks. I am going to work today with your 10 “let” ideas starting in Genesis. Thanks for adding that comment. I am going to couple those with Tim Myers’ “Let us” ideas from 249 in Science and Health. I wanted to start that study by giving thanks!

39. BarbaraTempe AZ says:

This makes me remember that a tight fist is an empty one. When my fists are willfully clenched holding on to an old idea, they’re not openly available to receive new good. Thanks, again, Marta.

40. Beate from Heidelberg says:

What a wonderful idea to have a daily lift. Thank you. This is got to be my contrast programme to the daily news. What a great idea to encourage us to let go of anything negative and to promise if we do so “God is revealing good to us every second”.
Thank you, again and especially thank you, MARTA:

41. Pat from Indiana says:

Thanks,Marta, for your further illustrations of “let” in the Bible. The “let” passages in Science and Health have always been a great help and reminder to me. Such a little word and what seems like such a big assignment at times. Thank you, again.

42. Norma/Canada says:

Dear Marta – thank you – what a wonderful thought to start the day. I have difficulty letting go – fear and anxiety constantly push their way into my every day thoughts – I really need to do a lot of work on this – I need to “let the sun shine through”.

43. Bev Newsham – Sandpoint, ID says:

Oh, Wow, that’s Terrific! It is, as they say, “Simple, but not Easy!” It’s been my experience that we don’t usually “Let Go” all at once, but that we let go a little each day – One Day At A Time. I have found that it’s mostly my Willingness that allows me to Let Go. If I can just be Willing to be Willing to be Willing…..than God does the rest. “Willingness to become…….” “Emerge gently……”

44. Faye’s gratitude!! says:

Thank you, Marta, for those simple stick to your ribs, truths. I loved it!! Just beautiful!!

45. Nan says:

So clear, helpful and right in accepting today’s unfoldment… Much gratitude for all the unselfish joy and love expressed.

46. Stephen Pierce says:

“Let go” and Get weaving!
Thanks awfully!

47. Anne S., Nova Scotia says:

It is not always easy to unfold that fist and free our mind to trust God, our perfect parent! Let go and let God light our way! Thank you so much for this illuminating thought and all the follow-up ‘Let’s’ to work with. It is what we, our church, the community and the World needs right now!

48. Pat says:

What a lovely thought with which to start my day. Thank you.

49. Claudia Steed says:

Marta, absolutely beautiful ideas. The thought at the end of “this very second” under God’s direction and care helps us let go of the branch of human sense that we often hold onto. Thank you so much!!

50. Bev says:

Thank you Marta

51. June Mary says:

Thank you, Marta. It reminded me of Psalm 122/1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. (the Mind that is God)
In Christian Science we can feel the promise of good, and experience it for ourselves. Leaving all decisions to God’s righteousness, knowing He/She will do what is right, does bring great relief and comfort. It is wise and morally sound as well. Love to everyone!

52. Brad from Houston says:

Thanks so much

53. Jan T – St. Charles says:

Thank you Marta. Let is also in our Daily Prayer, “…let the reign of divine Life, Truth and Love be established in me.’ (Church Manual, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 41) This letting this yielding to the activity of the trinity allows the following to occur, “and rule out of me all sin.” Letting Life Truth and Love rule in our hearts facilitates the releasing of all human anxiety, fear, doubt, alienation, etc, so that we see that first-day-of-creation Light!

54. Cheryl says:

I really appreciate this beautiful message. Thank you.

55. Lori Marquart, California says:

Dear Marta, How great it was to hear your cheerful and much needed inspiring message. I have a rental cottage on my property and the couple who have been there for over 6 years moved out this past weekend. I have not only been concerned about the loss of income, but that they were dear friends who I could rely on if I was in need. I have also been inspired by the Bible Lesson notes for the subject “Life” from the Sentinel. In referring to Jesus’ statement that he was “the bread of life; he that cometh to me shall never hunger” it states: “Jesus’ words suggest it requires a deep-seated willingness to let go of matter as the safety net and trust God as the source for every aspect of our lives.” I need to let go of thinking of this couple as my safety net and trust completely on God for every aspect of my life! Your thoughts will help me in this process of letting ago. With much love and gratitude, thanks so very much!

56. Sammie in Texas says:

Beautifully shared! I am humbly grateful for this message today…and to all that commented. What blessings await us!

57. Marta Greenwood says:

You want to hear what the mother bird did??? Don’t laugh too much, but she gave the baby bird a push off the branch with a shove and the baby bird openned its wings and flew- I expect in the end we get the divine shove or push to “let!” :)

58. Karen says:

What an answer to prayer! Thank you Marta!

59. Sylvia in Charleston, SC says:

What a wonderful way to start the week. Thanks, Marta! And for all the uplifting comments, as well.

60. Gigi says:

Thank you, Marta. A comment from Jill Gooding in an archived Sunday School workshop about LAW standing for Love At Work, inspired me last week to begin considering the little word LET as Linking Every Thought…to God, to Mind, to peace, to love, etc. Spirit, God, is the wind under our wings. The image of the little bird gaining the courage to fly and to soar brings to mind this quote from Mary Baker Eddy:
“To-day my soul can only sing and soar. An increas?
ing sense of God’s love, omnipresence, and omnipotence
enfolds me. Each day I know Him nearer, love Him
more, and humbly pray to serve Him better.” (Miscellany 175)

61. Dagmar, Hamburg says:

Thank you!

62. Alane says:

Thank you Marta for that crystal clear (completely transparent and unclouded) message…and thank you “Daily Lifters” for the wonderful way you expand an idea! I feel so blessed to be a part of this Christian community.

63. Suzanne says:

What a wonderful thought and to receive it at such a much needed time.
Thank you!

64. Leah says:

Beautiful analogy! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I needed this, I’m letting go!

65. Jan J – Grass Valley, CA says:

Thank you, Marta, for those most encouraging words … to let go of the problem, and let God remove and/or heal it!

66. NBC in NY says:

All I can say is WOW!!! I really needed that! Thank you Marta.

67. Rosa from Tn. says:

Thank you very much, Marta, for this thought of “Letting Go” of the unnecessary, and accepting the good that God has to give us. It reminds me of two other words that Mrs. Eddy uses a lot in S&H, and they are the words ” we must”. So therefore the “we must let go” of the unnecessary and receive the love that He shares with each of us each and every day when we truly listen and accept. And thank you, too, No, 29 for your thoughts.

68. Chris J. says:

Thank you. I just finished listening again to Maryl Walters encouraging gift from last Friday…”Be Still” and the timing was perfect to flow right into your inspiring words from Divine Mind’s All.

I needed this so very much this morning. I am afraid of the next step in my life and I am aware of all that I must do which is simply to just let go and be still and follow the Shepherd’s Voice “… and rejoice all the rugged way.”

69. Bob Hodges says:

When we affirm Truth . . . deny error . . . and leave the field to God . . . we set the stage to let only good enter experience.

70. Cathy from Oregon says:

“Let the light of God shine in our hearts” . . .. that’s a beautiful “lift” . . . now I’m ready to start my day!

71. Jim Dalrymple says:

Thank you Marta! Great message and yes I can see where I am the little bird who refused in several parts of my life. I will try to let go a little more today.

72. Susan Carol says:

Thanks ever so much for your inspiring ideas this morning! I am also grateful for all the references for let that you shared. Let is a word, an idea of action – much like yield. Today I’ll keep your message close to my heart and look for Father/ Mother’s gentle push to let my limited opinions fall away. Again, Thanks ever so much Marta !

73. Nea Torres, Brazil says:

Thank you all for the wonderful Daily Lift! Thank you Marta for waking us up to go back to our true history. Genesis 1.
Only in this way we can be ready to receive the infinity good God has provided to all!

74. Mary H says:

Thank you. Last night I finally was able to let go of the thoughts that were going through my head and was able to get a couple of hours of sleep. Now with this Daily Lift I’ll be able to continue listening for God’s thoughts. I especially like number 29 and 33 for your thoughts. All are good. Thank you.

75. Phyllis says:

Thank you Marta. This “Daily Lift” is so lovely, so liberating and so true.

76. B. J. , Evanston, IL says:

Thanks so much for reminding me — some 50 years ago my husband wrote that BIG/little word “Let” on the blackboard in our kitchen to help all of us rmember to “Let God” govern our day!

77. Cici from Los Angeles says:

Marta, thank you always for your simple, full of love, powerful messages. About the baby bird….letting go and putting away the old for the new. That is God’s constant message to all of us. We need to look forward for the newness of life. So many lessons and challenges to learn, however, most inviting so we can proof God’s trials of our ability to demonstrate healings. As Mrs. Eddy says in S&H, “To understand God is the works of eternity”. I just love that….working for God always and loving Him, cherishing Him, praising Him and adoring Him with all our love. Thank you God.

78. Chrissie Brown says:

Dearest Marta! Thanks so much for this beautiful and uplifting message of letting go illustrated by the little bird on the limb. Goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives…forever.. What a fun journey!! Hugs :)

79. Roger from Marin in CA says:

Let me add my gratitude for a wonderful thought today and for all days forward.

Also, thank you to the Church for providing this daily audio, which is a terriffic way to clear the head and set the day’s path straight.

GOD bless you all.

80. Kuteesa, Jackson says:

Thanks so much for the msg Marta.

81. Sue says:

Marta,
This was amazingly timely. Our church has its Feb. board meeting today and our scripture for this year is from Isaiah “Arise shine, for thy light is come…”
That’s the light you were speaking about this morning on Daily Lift.
Thank you for helping all of us “Let Go”.

82. Missy says:

One day last week I saw a car with a personalized license plate that said “I LET GO.” The sight of it gave me a good chuckle, but as I was driving along I really pondered the liberation, joy, and spiritual authority that little message conveyed to me. I had a good chat with myself: “hmmmm, how about me, have I let go? No? Well…. when will I be ready to let go?” And then here is today’s Daily Lift, with its gentle invitation, which I gladly accept. Thank you, Marta!

83. Debra says:

Marta, thank you. Many things have been troubling me over the past few months in all areas of my life, and the message I have been hearing from God this whole past week is to “Let go and let Me take care of this.” I can’t tell you how much I appreciated seeing the title of your Daily Lift this morning and the message that you shared. It speaks to my heart. And I also REALLY appreciated the “let” statements you shared in comment #6. Very very helpful. Thank you again, so much! Cheers to you!

84. Pippa says:

Let go!
Let go of what?
Let go of fear!
Why?
Because we know!
Know what?
That God supplies our every need! Always! That’s His promise!
THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD, I SHALL NOT WANT!
God is Love and Love never fails!.
God is Truth and Truth never fails!
LOVE IS IN CHARGE! He’s the Boss!
So – WHY FEAR?
Thank you dear Marta!

85. Mom D says:

“Thy kingdom come, LET the reign of divine truth, life and love be established in me and rule out of me all sin. And may thy word enrich the affections of all mankind and govern them.” (Church Manual, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 41) God is already reigning in His kingdom. We only need recognize His undeniable government in order to bask in the glory of its ever-present goodness.

86. Jeanne says:

Hello, Marta, and thank you very much! The thought of “lettting go” is exactly what I needed this morning as I’m sending Robbie off to school. Different members of our church family often a good thought they are working with that they got from your lecture.

87. Beatrice Goss says:

Mrs. Eddy wrote in Science and Health. ” Let us learn of the Real and Eternal, the reign and rule of Harmony, which can not be lost ,nor remain forever unseen.”

88. Liliana. says:

Thank you for this message. It’s timely for me and may family right now.

89. BlueGold says:

THANK YOU MARTA – - for your Ponit #6 (above) and your expansion of the use and application of the word “Let.” You have encouraged me to stay with your line of reasoning and inspiration. My first reference is “The Student’s Reference Dictionary” by George and Charles Merriman, Springfield, Massachusetts 1848).”To allow, to give leave, to not prevent, to send away.” A second meaningful definiton is: “- – an entreaty to superior power, permission or command – as in a prayer.” What comes to mind is the Lazarus experience: “Loose him, and let him go.” This was the Christ-idea doing the work. It was not Lazarus doing the work. He needed help and it was instant. The Word was spoken and the Truth was manifiested.
My second reference: Webster’s Second Edition: “To leave, relinquish, abandon, to let go, to release, to cast off” and further: “to leave to or for another.”
Thus you have guided me to “Let go.” And Mary Baker Eddy has guided me in my daily prayer: “Thy kingdom come, let the reign of divine Truth, Life, and Love be established in me, and rule out of me all sin; – - ” (Manual page 41). My job is two fold: let go of all material support, all mortal beliefs, fears, distrust. My most important job is to petition a higher power – God – divine Love, to let it happen. Just let your “Truth Life, and Love be establlished in me – - ” just let the Word be manifested.
Thank you for the helpful way that you have shared your inspiration.

90. Martha says:

Thank you Marta! This is such a special message about “letting go.” I love your added comments. I am reminded of a bird story, and forgive me for not remembering where I read it. A family noticed a nest of birds living on their back porch, and they enjoyed watching them being fed and nurtured until the baby birds began to fly. All of them flew away except one little bird, and he kept staying in the nest. The family became concerned and continued to watch his progress each day. The mother bird finally flew down, grabbed a worm, flew to a nearby branch on a tree, and dangled the worm in her beak. The little bird very shortly spread his wings, flew to his mother and ate the worm. (Lovely wisdom of Mother’s Love!)

Thank you also for the beautiful scripture on “let” to work with. As I read, I immediately thought of the definition of “let- Love Everlastingly Triumphant” that was given in one of the comments on Tim Meyer’s “Let Us Diet” a few weeks ago. Now, I just noticed #29 wrote this again and followed with “Let that mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” (Thank you Lorraine!)

These messages just continue to follow up and build, and I am grateful for these daily lifts!

91. Lolita, Kirkland says:

Thank you for the beautiful image.

92. Mary in Az says:

I love this :) God revealing ****good**** every second.

93. Robin from Chehalis says:

Thank you! A wonderful, uplifting thought for today and every day.

94. Sally L. from San Diego says:

Dearest Marta, how often I think of you with so much gratitude for your clear thoughts and willingness to share with us all. We in No. county SD sure have had the blessings you left with us in Nov. to grow and grow more and more.
I love to think of “Truth sweeping down the centuries, gathering us…” It is the impetus to let us know that the shove of love is from above and never lets us fall. Of course we would be more comfortable staying small like the little bird but #11 says we are large when we clear the edge of the nest of mortal thought and fly to better thinking. Wonderful how we help each other clear out the false and let our real selfhood in.

MODERATOR’S NOTE:

“Truth’s immortal idea is sweeping down the centuries, gathering beneath its wings the sick and sinning.” (Science and Health, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 55:15)

95. Andrew Wilson, of Morecambe, UK says:

Thank you, Marta! That was beautiful. I will let go more! It was lovely to hear your voice again. We remember you in Morecambe with much affection and gratitude for the lecture you gave us last year, fruitage from which is still flowing.

96. Paul Marthaler says:

I remember the story of the monkey, who reached into the coconut and grabbed a BIG handful of nuts—–but then, with all those nuts he couldn’t get his hand out! So we are sometimes imprisoned by our greed and unable to be free! Good lesson there. Thanks Marta—sort of similar to your quest for freedom from the inhibiting strictures of false religion/customs in your youth…..

97. Cindy says:

Just great! I needed that one and it goes right along with what I am learning about!

98. diana says:

What did the mother bird do Marta?

Moderator’s Note:

See Marta’s comment #57.

99. Martha says:

So powerfully good! Thanks bunches.

100. sharman heck says:

thank you!!! excellent!!!

101. Donna says:

Dear Marta,

Letting go is a hard thing to do. Most people say, “God, here is my plan, get behind it and make it happen!” Ha, Letting go is something we need to practice, and by so doing will gain freedom and God’s will in our lives will be made manifest.

102. Annette from Berlin says:

That is absolutely wonderful! So grateful for this thought and for the reminder that we CAN let got because we have WINGS! Love!

103. Sue says:

Thank you Marta for the lovely definition and follow up – especially the nudge!

I have had this poem in my collection for many years.

A friend once gave me.
When I was burdened by the acts of
persons and the why of things,
A healing thought:

‘Let go of persons and know
that God is where you are.
Let go of him and her
and them and us,
and most of all let go of me
(the me) that clamours to be heard.
Let go of persons and draw near to God,

Let go of names, and ages,
of the way men walk
and talk. Unsee apparent pride and fear.
We are not critics of what seems to be
But students, guardians, of what really is.

Dorothy Lois Denny

PS I have seen this with a few word changes. If anyone knows the original I would be grateful.

Thank you to all who give us these wonderful ilfts..

104. Colleen says:

One time I saw a baby bird’s first flight. It basically fell and the mother swooped down with spread wings and lifted the bird back to the ledge. It was a very precious sight, so much love, encouragement, tenderness, protection, expectation……Thank you for the lift…it is so good with lots to think about.

105. Kathy M. says:

As a mother of grown children that are already out of the nest, it is still hard sometimes not to want to give them a nudge to fly in the direction I think might be best, but this is not my job, it’s God’s job to direct and help our children grow spiritually. I thank you for this lovely reminder to let go and trust God to take care of our children and also to take care of us.

I must pray in a garden. Thanks.

108. Maria Elvira – Brasil says:

Beautiful thought!
Thank you Marta for the love you´re able to express through your inspired lifts!
And about the “Let go …” I would say that this one of the most important spiritual training we should practice always, so that we can experience God´s kingdom in our lives forever.
Sometimes one may think it´s hard to put it into practice, but I can really say that God always finds a way to encourage His beloved children to fly by themselves, and for sure one of these ways are these wonderful daily lifts available to all receptive hearts worldwide.
Thanks to the Board of Lectures for this timely iniciative and again to Marta!

109. Marilyn from Maine says:

112. Julia says:

Thanks to Marta and Kathy M of #102. These two have hit the nail on the head for this writer. In opening this day with prayer, struggling with issues that concern a grown, married child and things that are certainly not in conformity with the standards with which he was raised, I received a message about the wheat and the tares. “Let both grow together until the harvest.” This was freeing for me, at least in some measure. I know that what was taught in his growing-up years is certainly with him – can never leave him, as is the case with his God. Marta’s message about being willing to let go was a good addendum to the first message. Also on the heels of the first message was a passage from Isaiah that once came to me at another time of distress about a situation concerning this child: “Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel…” (Isa 8:18) And there were, in fact, many signs and wonders as he grew. So I am comforted today to have it pointed out that all these things will be worked out to God’s satisfaction, as He/She directs. I can trust that and know that the results will be outstandingly good. They’ll just be worked out in God’s time and not my own finite sense of it. But I am so grateful for this series of progressive ideas today. Thanks to others for their remarks as well – many comments have contributed to feeling the beginnings of a freedom from this issue. Thank you!

113. Susan says:

Thank you Marta. I’m letting go of all my worries today and I’m going to just focus on God and see where I go. Thanks for providing the inspiration for my day!

114. Candy from Riverside, CA says:

Thank you, Marta! My branch that I hold onto very tightly is television — I watch way too much when I should be devoting time to CS study. This is a lovely example about letting go.

118. Lorraine in Dayton, Ohio says:

No.103 asked for coroboration of her poem. This is what I have in my collection:
LET GO OF PERSONS
by Dorothy Neilson Derry

A friend once gave me
When I was burdened by the acts of persons,
and the why of things,
A healing thought.

“Let go and know
that God is where you are.
Let go of him and her
and them and us,
and most of all let go of me
(the me that clamors to be heard).
Let go of persons and draw near to God.

“Let go of names, of ages,
of the way men walk
and talk. Unsee apparent pride and fear.
We are not critics of what seems to be,
but students, guardians of what really is.

Christian Science Sentinel December 18, 1948

119. john from Miami says:

121. Kathy M. says:

To Julia #112 from Kathy M. I understand completely about praying for our grown children and leaving them in God’s care and love. Adam Dickey wrote a wonderful pamphlet put out by the Christian Science publishing society titled”Possession” it includes wonderful ideas about our children that I have read many times, perhaps you might enjoy reading it as well. Marta, my gratitude for all your daily lifts are immense, thank you!!!!

122. Kate from BC Canada says:

What a blessing to LETall these angel thoughts, these blessing healing ideas rest upon by thought. What wings to fly!!! Thank you all.

123. Grace from Texas says:

Thank you, Marta, about reminding how we must “let go,” “to grow.” It also reminds me of the tale that in order to let go of our winter garments the sun must shine! I like to think that God also was thinking of joy when He said, “Let there be light!” “Let there be joy in the world!” Aren’t people who “light up” those that are full of joy! Something times I think that our “halo” is seen — in that joy! As we let go of what is not truly ours, we gain in what is truly ours, and we glow! Thanks, Marta!

124. Liana at South Lake Tahoe, CA says:

Marta, You are a precious light for all of us. Thank you!

125. Nena says:

I was awaken this early morning feeling so disappointed regarding what happen to my house since I was away. The more I see the evidences anger just sets in and it was too much to bear. But then I opened Science And Health and read page 331.It reads in part that God is all in all, nothing possesses reality nor existence except the divine Mind and His ideas. Basing from this, and it said all is harmony and there can can be no discord. Everything in God’s universe expresses Him. Since discord is error it is itself nothing, anything that is error is a lie. Harmony is all love and power. Just the right time you talk about ” Let go” and this reminded me to let go off this suggestions instead of lingering in it. As you said , the mother bird shoves off his baby for to learn to fly. So I have to let go of the differences and learn more. Thank you so much Marta for this inspiration and lift and thanks to all who also shared their comments

126. Anne says:

Thank you, Marta. I liked your description of the baby bird!

127. J.S. in Ky says:

Thank you, Marta, for a right way to start a new month, which will help me advance on lingering delays that keep me from growing. I seem so much like the baby bird, and when I do finally fly forth, and let my strong enough wings lift me, I later find my feet were more strongly still holding the limb and pulled it along with me, too often even with the whole tree moving along with me, but weighing me down! I see what I must work on. I’ve less problem trying my wings but, it’s my “feet” I must practice to “let go”, and pray to know how & when. Thank you, also for the reminder of the Genesis “lets”. That’s a good beginning place to start. Surely God wouldn’t say such wonderful, awesome lets, and it be so, but leave anyone dragging trees all over the place! Remembering- that the Father, Creator of all, including me, lets “be”, I’ll find that whatever I need to let go, will have been already let “gone” for me. You put this needed lesson so sweetly, and easier to grow with. Thanks, Gigi, #60, for sharing “let” equals “Linking Every Thought” with the many ways to connect to God. That will help very much. Thanks, Pippa,#84, for a good “wind” to start flight on. Many years ago, a hummingbird built its tiny nest, typically, out over water. We saw, one day, however, that a little baby was dangling with one foot caught in the nest. We prayed, and the only way to reach it was for my husband to hold an extension ladder against a pickup truck parked at the edge of a steep, rocky drive- more like a dry creek bed going up hill than a driveway, which, beside the truck, the ground dropped sharply off the mountain side. A son climbed , and stretched out to reach and rescue the baby, which quickly flew off. That was the day they all left the nest. Sometimes it’s hard for us to let go or we get stuck, and our CS practitioners, and also the wonderful comments on these lifts, are what it takes to rescue us and let us fly on, too. Thank you everybody.

128. Maureen from Spearfish says:

Just. Let. Go. Amen. Thank you.

135. Herb Hamilton in Edmonds Wa says:

After reading 134 inspiring comments this early Tuesday morning…

I was inspired to add a Bible citation that I often pray after The Lords Prayer…
The Daily Prayer… and the Scientific Statement of Being.

I’m not sure of the exact citation #… but I think it is from Proverbs.

“LET the words of my mouth…
and the meditation of my heart…
be acceptable unto thee… oh Lord…
my strength and my redeemer.”

Thank you Marta… for all the Love you express in every word.

Your Joy and Glee…
Gratitude and Love for God…
just shines and radiates through… so vibrantly !!!

MODERATOR’S NOTE:

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” Psalms 19:14

136. Susan from Michigan says:

Marta-
There is just one Mind! I was working on the idea of “letting” this week! I had been looking up all of Mrs. Eddy’s “Let us” (you find alot on pages 248-249!). How fun that you included in your comments some of the “Let’s” from the Bible. This was so helpful and thank you for the dear story about the birds…it put a smile on my face!

137. Doris Libey says:

Thank you, Marta! I especially see the need for me to let go of judgment of others and will be sharing this.

138. Mew (UK) says:

Please excuse the length of this. Yesterday I found myself unable to move freely for several hours until family returned to help, but I was in the company of our little cockatiel who every so often reassuringly told me that I was ‘alright’ and asked if I wanted a drink. This situation arose not long after I had listened again to another of those Daily Lifts to which a dear practitioner had introduced me recently. That particular one was ‘Be Still,’ by Maryl Walters. I then heard your new Lift. It was enormously helpful to have had these to hold in thought over those hours, whilst knowing that God is the ‘gentle Presence’ that ‘owns each waiting hour’ (‘Mother’s Evening Prayer’ by Mary Baker Eddy). In addition, I had inadvertently, and coincidentally, clicked on Maryl Walters’ home ‘Lecturer’ page. There in her video, she talked of the true story of the baby eagle that had been thinking of himself as one of the chickens amongst whom he was living, until he was set free literally and metaphorically from believing in his limitations – and soared away. Immediately after learning of that, I heard about your little birds letting go, and indeed being made to let go, when they fledged. And there, amongst the comments left for you was Joan Wattam’s contribution, saying, “When we ‘let’ God (and anything else is error), we are allowing Truth to be all that it is, in each situation – and we are soaring with the eagle!” What lessons we can learn from such upward-soaring as this (feathered, or otherwise!). Further to all this, I have in recent years been taking a small stand against the malicious poisoning of eagles (both golden and white-tailed sea eagle varieties) in Scotland. And so, yesterday, my thinking was taken in the general direction of Isa.40:31, ‘But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.’ All this was a great help during the waiting hours. I was reminded of Betty Jenks’ remark to me once that the only ‘coincidence,’ ever, is spiritual. Thanks to all for contributing to the spiritual coincidence that was, and indeed is, so uplifting.

I loved this Lift & comments yesterday and oh I am so glad I returned to read the added comments! JS in KY, I always appreciate your comments and today I laughed outloud at the image of flying while dragging trees around! I understand it completely! That’s so terrific. I think I’ll be better able to catch myself because of your desciption. Mew, thank you for sharing your experience. Bless your heart; I’m so grateful you felt supported and connected to your daily lift community during those “waiting hours.” much love, Tracy

145. Elizabeth says:

What a needed reminder. I’ve read through the whole thing and it is so timely. Of course it always is, but right now it is just the awakening I need. Always is the sneaking, underlying thought that I must do it all. It is totally dependent on my effort and doing. Otherwise it won’t get done. There’s a lot of me, me, me there. I remember my dear teacher used to tell me “Put it iin God’s care. You do not have to bear the burden, Let God do it.” Why oh why would one not do just that? Thank you for reminding me.

146. Jimmy says:

Thank you so much Marta, that was exactly what I needed at the moment. It reminded me of the Bald Eagle I saw yesterday perched over the frozen Big Bear Lake ( CA. USA ) as I was driving by….so calm and peaceful…
