Services at The Mother Church in Boston, MA
Visit The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in the Back Bay of Boston, and you’ll be warmly welcomed.
Sunday Church Services
- 10:00am and 5:00pm (except evenings in July and August)
You’ll find a friendly greeting, music, singing, Scriptural readings, prayer, and a sermon based on a weekly Bible Lesson from the King James Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. These two books were ordained by Mary Baker Eddy as Pastor of the Church of Christ, Scientist. Our services last about an hour.

Wednesday Meetings
- 12:00pm and 7:30pm
Welcome to these testimonial meetings! Sing hymns and listen to readings from the Bible and Eddy’s Science and Health selected to comfort, inspire, and heal. You’ll also hear insights, experiences, and healings people have had as a result of their prayers and their study of Christian Science.
Sunday School
- 10:00 am, the Sunday School building auditorium and first floor conference room.
- 5:00 pm (except July and August), the first floor conference room of the Sunday School building.
The Mother Church Sunday School is a place for anyone nineteen and under. In Sunday School, you will gain a better understanding of God, who you are as Her child, and how to feel His constant loving embrace. Discussions and lessons are designed around the Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer, the Beatitudes, and The Christian Science Bible Lesson.
