Sunday church services and Wednesday testimony meetings
Sunday church services
On Sundays at Churches of Christ, Scientist around the world, you’ll find a friendly greeting, music, singing, Scriptural readings, prayer, and a sermon based on a weekly Bible Lesson from our pastor, the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. A democratically elected lay "First Reader" will run the service and read from Science and Health, while a "Second Reader" will read from the Bible. Services typically last about an hour.
Wednesday testimony meetings
Wednesday meetings are similar to Sunday services, but the First Reader runs the meeting on his or her own, gathering Scriptural readings customized to the needs of the congregation and occasion. You’ll also hear insights, experiences, and healings attendees have had as a result of their prayers and study of Christian Science.
Sunday School
Sunday School is typically offered at the same time as Sunday services. Each Sunday School class is designed to meet the needs of each individual student. Classes are based on the Bible, and, together with teachers, students can gain new insights into it with the help of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
