Christian Science on College Campuses

Christian Science Organizations

Christian Science Organizations (CSOs) can be found on many college and university campuses. Officially sanctioned by The Mother Church and the particular school, CSOs are groups of students, faculty, and alumni who are members of The Mother Church.

What does a Christian Science Organization do?

Exactly what each CSO does is determined by its members. Many CSOs have weekly meetings open to the entire campus community. Such meetings generally are meant to provide some spiritual refreshment in the academic arena, and it’s not unusual for people to talk about how Christian Science helps them overcome a variety of challenges. CSOs also can sponsor lectures by members of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship. These lectures often deal with topics particularly relevant to college students—identity, career choices, relationships, stress, and so on—and they’re all meant to provide effective spiritual solutions.

Find a CSO?

A complete list of Christian Science Organizations around the world, including contact information, is published on TMC Youth’s CSO directory. Additionally it is also published once a month in the The Christian Science Journal.
