Fountain Hosts - Temporary/Summer Season (NEW)

Site Services - The Fountain Host is part of the Security Services team which ensures a safe and secure environment at the Church Center by serving as a welcoming and responsible presence to the public primarily around the reflecting pool and fountain area during warmer seasons. These hosts provide a continuous communications link with other shift team members, using sophisticated security and telecommunications equipment, radio code protocol, and frequent face-to-face contacts. The position is expected to preserve strict confidentiality of sensitive information necessary to the performance of the job. Some college experience. A valid driver’s license is required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required especially as they relate to dealing with the public. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to work both as a team member and/or independently with little interaction with others. 

Security Host 

Site Services - This position is part of the Security Services team in providing plaza patrols and access control, in order to ensure a safe and secure environment at the Church Center ad its buildings. The position is responsible for coordinating with shift team members in support of activities at the Center and the Library. The position represents the organization by serving as a welcoming and responsible presence to the public and maintains a continuous communications link with other shift team members, using sophisticated security and telecommunications equipment, radio code protocol, and frequent face-to-face contacts. The position is expected to preserve strict confidentiality of sensitive information necessary to the performance of the job. 

Manager, General Ledger

Treasurer’s Office – Financial Management – Join the Treasurer’s Office staff by serving in this newly created position. This position is responsible for assisting and providing continuing support to the General Ledger (“GL”), Audit and Tax Services Manager and staff, as well as, all related accounting functions in partnership with the GL staff and other Treasurer’s Office personnel for the successful completion of regular accounting audits and projects that involve accounting. This position assists in supervising the GL staff and function. Some of the qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Six plus years of professional and supervisory experience in public accounting practice
  • Thorough understanding of and experience with US GAAP
  • Exposure to cost accounting, budgeting and financial software and systems
  • Management and supervisory skills
  • Non-profit experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and financial databases a plus
  • Membership in The Mother Church required.

Reading Room Sales Associates – part-time (13-18 hours per week)

The Mother Church Reading Room on Mass Ave — Join this dynamic team in promoting and selling all Reading Room products while creating and maintaining an environment of healing and spiritual discovery. This position works as a team member that, through prayer and an understanding of Christian Science, connects with the community and prays regularly about its needs and challenges. College degree or equivalent, previous experience in a retail environment and experience in the Christian Science field (i.e., branch church work, field work, etc.) preferred. Membership in The Mother Church required. Primary class instruction preferred.

Government Relations Division Internships

Committee on Publication (Washington, DC) — As a member of the Committee on Publication team in Washington DC, the Government Relations Intern assists in representing the interests of Christian Science on Capitol Hill. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in acquiring valuable congressional relations experience and for those who want to hone their research, writing and public speaking skills.

The internship is available throughout the year, during the fall, spring, and summer. Please note the following application deadlines:
