Loubert Milani, Jr.

São Paulo, Brazil

I was involved in an accident at a construction site. At the end of the day, having already taken off my protective gear, I was sprayed in the face by a chemical compound. The pain was intense and I couldn’t see. And I was alone.

However, I’ve learned from studying Christian Science that I’m actually never alone. I’m always in the presence of God. I’ve learned that I can acknowledge and appeal to that presence, a presence which is infinite good. So I did that. And I felt safe knowing that no evil could harm me because I was surrounded by God. Because I was God’s spiritual creation.

I remembered the psalm that says, “If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there … even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me” (Ps. 139).

I realized I could apply all of the things I’d learned from reading the Bible right then. I wasn’t alone; I had God—and all the understanding I needed.

My healing was fast and permanent. There are no scars, and I didn’t miss a day of work. I’m grateful every day for Christian Science, which has showed me that this kind of healing is not only possible, it’s natural.
