Quick healing after a fall
I’m grateful for many healings through my life as a result of prayer. Several occurred after I received help from a Christian Science practitioner. For example, once I had a rash on my arm that became quite serious, spreading and causing my hand to swell. I called the practitioner on a Friday. I recall her reminding me that the rash didn’t represent my true, God-given state of health or being. read
Healed of persistent pain
When my three children were young, all under the age of five, I stayed at home as a full-time mom. Although I loved my children and found many aspects of motherhood enjoyable, at times I also found it very challenging. read
No more need for glasses
When I was a teen, I got glasses for distance vision. Then, while I was attending college away from home, I began to study Christian Science on my own after my girlfriend (now my wife) introduced it to me. Walking with freedom
A few years ago, I injured my knee playing softball with friends. I expected the injury to heal, but over a period of months the symptoms got worse. Eventually it reached a point where it took some moments for me to straighten my leg or to be able to stand up after sitting. read

Sometime during the last few years, one of my shoulders seemed to lose the ability to function normally, painfully restricting the motion of my arm. Ordinary activities became a challenge—unlocking the car doors on the opposite side of my van, dressing myself, reaching for objects in high places. read

Deep cut on child’s face quickly healed
One day when my youngest daughter was about three years old, she pulled down her Christmas stocking from the fireplace mantle. The heavy metal stocking holder came crashing down with it, hitting her in the face. read
Healed after being thrown from a horse
I’ve loved and owned horses for many years. Whether I’m competing in dressage or riding or training, I’ve always made a point of seeing and acknowledging God’s qualities in myself, my horses, and others in my sport. read
Quick healing after bike crash
Last summer, just before beginning a short triathlon—swim, bike, run—my buddy and I (both Christian Scientists) quietly repeated “the scientific statement of being” from Science and Health (see p. 468). Repeating that statement helped me focus on God as I started the swim. I wanted to maintain a continual awareness of His ever-presence moving me through the whole race, rather than relying on physical strength and speed. read
