7/13: Respond with agape

7/13: Respond with agape

  1. Marta is one of my most favorite of ALL teachers all teachers anywhere,
    - for what she communicates BEHIND the words that she speaks.

  2. Egape love... unconditional, revolutionary, transformative consistent compassion. Thank you so much for pointing the way with your brilliant words today, Ms. Greenwood!

  3. What a beautiful clear message, carrying with it the power to live it!

  4. Brilliant Marta, this is such an inspiring message to wake up to this morning here in Tanzania The number of crows in our neighborhood have tripled and just before dawn their raucous begins, and at times its deafening, its impossible to rest. But now I am going right back to pray and ask "Father, teach me to love". If I can feel that love for His creatures right now, I know I will be able to love anything and everyone! Thank you!

  5. Examples of Agape Love:
    • John 3:16 ¶ For God so loved (agape) the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

    • Definition from Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance: From Greek:
Loved: ἀγαπάω, agapaō - : to love : - be loved
Agape is love which is of and from God, whose very nature is love itself. - unconditional love that is always giving and impossible to take or be a taker. This form of love is totally selfless and does not change whether the love given is returned or not.
    • The supreme passage for the interpretation of the meaning of agape is Matt 5:43-48
43 ¶ Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love (agape) thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
    44 But I say unto you, Love (agape) your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love (agape) them which love (agape) you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
    • Definition from Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance from Greek::
Perfect : Τέλειος teleios: complete, completeness

    • John 15:9 As the Father hath loved (agape) me, so have I loved (agape) you: continue ye in my love (agape).

  6. I found your words "radical" and "revolutionary" powerful and perfect. I, being Jewish and strong on inclusion, felt somewhat discounted when I heard that agape love is the love that all Christians are to live by. I would have liked to hear that "all people have a chance to live by."

  7. Thank you Marta. It's good to be reminded of that Christian demand to love unconditionally.

  8. Thanks Marta, a good way to go about our business, loving as Jesus loved.

  9. I have had to deal with awkward residents, we live in an apartment and during the hot weather have had my windows and doors open much to the annoyance of the resident below. However, each time I have seen her or thought about her I have known her as God's daughter. Another resident has complained about our little dog, a Westie, however, again have not reacted but just known that we all live with God under his guidance and love.

  10. Thank you dear Marta, for a lovely, loving Lift, Rosemary x x

  11. Marta, thank you for bringing to us this thought of the unconditional, self-sacrificing, thoughtful Love that can only come from The Father of lights. Jesus taught us by example this Love so far above husband and wife love, even above the love of a human mother for her baby. You found the best words to define the truest and purest form of Love! Your thoughts are so deep... What an opportunity to grow you are giving us today! Thank you. Definitely, I need to share this lift!
Gracias. ¡Definitivamente tengo que compartir esta elevación!

  12. Thanks Marta That is a wonderful message for us all to take into our world today. Ann K

  13. Thankyou Marta for this loving message. My neighbors are going to get a lot of consideration today, whoever they may be..children, husband, customers, staff, telephone salesman,friends...the list is endless! These lifts really make a difference dont they...:)

  14. Many thanks Marta for this beautiful lift. What a blessed way to go about our day, with unconditional Love for all God's creation, no matter how they seem to react towards us. The result? The false view we sometimes seem to have of our situation, that veil is lifted, so we can see the Truth, the perfection of God's creation, that was always there.

Our Father Mother God sustains us in all we do, & knowing & understanding this divine Principle restores harmony, just as God sustained Elijah, the widow woman & her son & household, as told in 1 Kings 17:1, 8-16 in this weeks Bible Lesson. We truly are blessed.

  15. ... Deepest expression of love ... **/*@2 = .2, me, me; to give, give, give attitude of taught...."

  16. Thank you! Thank you ! Thank you Marta! I love messages & reminders like this. They help to keep me on track & bring me back when tempted to swerve.

  17. "Be in the responding business"! Okay, Marta, I will pracive agape love, no me, me, me today. Thanks for this wonderful daily lift.

  18. Thank you Marta for that inspiring lift. This is a great lesson in wartime.
"If selfishness has given place to kindness, we shall regard our neighbor unselfishly, and bless [all] them that curse us;" (Science and Health 9:11)

  19. Thank you, Marta, for the beautiful message today. The definition of AGAPE and your clear explanation of how to express our true nature to love is so helpful. I will remember today (and every day) how Christ Jesus taught us to love and to practice it. Thank you!

  20. As so frequently happens with the Daily Lift, this one is right on the spot for me today with a particular person that I am presently dealing with!! Thank you very much for the reminder, Marta.

  21. Thank you so much Marta. This is a lesson in love and loving that just continues as we wake to everpresent love both going and coming. This is loving so effortlessly there is no need for a prompt or a second thought because love is all there is first, and continues throughout every expression and experience.
We look forward to your visit early next year Marta, and if you haven't been to Australia - the east coast - you're in for a treat!

  22. Thank you very much for this msg today and the true meaning of agape. It will be a blessing when I am able to see everyone like this.

  23. Brilliant! Thank you Marta for this powerful reminder that true love (agape) is unconditional, does not react to awkward situations, and is totally inclusive of all mankind everywhere.

  24. Unconditional love is the most important thing!

  25. Excellent enabler with much action ! Yes for many years I have been working with responding and not reacting. At times it needs to be a strong digging in of heels. Grateful that I took that stand and stand by it!
No matter how much hatred, maliciousness and revenge is thrown I will agape! and I do ! inherent Christly love ... Thank you dear Marta for your "Lift" and your Christly love expressed and your added references!
    Love is reflected in love...

  26. I could listen to you all day, Marta. Simply heavenly.

  27. Thank you Marta for this powerful and uplifting reminder.Once again you have made the start of my day filled with expectation for fulfillment.

  28. Dear Marta, thank you for the reminder "agape" as a possibility to answer and your own comment to this vocabulary and how it is used in the Bible.
All these ideas are very helpful and your collection is "like a concordance".
    Than you again!!

  29. Wow. Just what I needed. Thank you.

  30. Thank you everyone from all over the world. And, thank you Number #6 for Love is all embracing and knows no limits, no boundaries, no, labels and is unconditional and all inclusive. Thank you Marta. Thank you TMC for these daily lifts. I'm so grateful to be reminded that each of us is an enactment of Divine Love.

  31. THANKS, AND AGAPE LOVE TO YOU.

  32. 6- Phyllis- WOW, you completed this daily Lift with your “unconditional” interpretation of agape Love. You are sooo right – this is for all people not just “Christians,” - but as Christians we must practice it doubly so that we don’t ever think, God’s love is exclusive to “Christians”, but rather it includes all, like you said, all people can practice because we ALL have the same divine Love, embracing all of us. You have got it Phyllis. In this verse below it is especially handling the sense of “exclusivity” a Christian may feel in regards to Christ also:

John 3:16 ¶ For God so loved the WORLD, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
It was the WORLD (universal), God sent the universal Christ and that is not exclusive to “Christians”
Thank you for dropping by and writing what your sharp observations. Really spot on. Well you completed it :)

  33. What a beautiful message and so timely. The freedom that comes with this kind of love can bless all mankind. Thank you so much.

  34. Marta! How fun to hear from you...and your message of love and the related quotes lifts us into that give...give...give mode. Even the world's worst enemies are enfolded in this approach...yeah, a treatment for Osama BinLaden! Much love today as always...or should I say ...agape?!

  35. Marta, Math 5:43-48 tells us to agape, bless, do good and pray for them. Specifically Jesus is telling us how to deal with enemies, adversaries or intentional hatred to us. Even though humanly we may not have an opportunity to do so, we can love silently. We can stretch ourselves humanly to even find avenues to do the first three. I use to think human love could just about conquer anything but I am resolved to see that humanly you can come to a point where that just can't fill the holes in the hearts of some men. Agape must reach into the deep, infinite wells of the divine Source Love in order to fill the holes of each one's heart. So to pray for those from the view of Divine Love would include moulding us in more unselfed desires to see and feel this Divine Love that knows no holes. This must go along with the other phrase in The Bible, "Perfect love casteth out fear." I pray to know how to by-pass the holes and touch the other individual if that is what Love is requiring me to do.

  36. Thank you, what a wonderful thought to have at all times.

  37. Stunning. Simple. Superb. Your lift is all of that and UP lifting. Agape love is Christianity. THANK YOU! Marta, your words are a tremendous gift. What a glorious reminder of what our Master taught, and what Mrs. Eddy revealed. Thank you, again!

  38. What a fantastic Uplift. Thank you Marta. You have really opened my heart to be the agape Love. Will definitely work on it.

  39. Thank you, Marta, for this all-embracing blessing.

To dear No. 6, I would like to offer that, although I can't speak for Marta, I'm certain she must mean that anyone who is living agape love is expressing the Christ Science, no matter what the title of their religion may be. We are all Christians when we are Christ-like, so in your beautiful inclusiveness, that's exactly what you are! In short, I think its just a matter of symantics. We are all hearers and doers of the Word when we are loving unconditionally, which is exemplifying the Science of Love--the universal Science of Being!

  40. Thank you Marta, for this fulfilling message.

  41. Thanks Martha for your daily lift . It is very inspiring to understand that we have to love unconditionnally> We particularly need this kind of love in Africa where there seem to to have so much unequality.
Thanks a lot for all Christian Scientists who are helping us to understand what Love really is .

  42. Thanks, Marta! Really felt YOUR agape Love on the Lift this a.m. I can hear it in your voice, because it is coming from your Heart. I would like to say that I agree with Phyllis, #6, re. All people, not just Christians, are commanded and are able to Love unconditionally, because we are All the children of the One God! It's God's Love, that is the agape Love, that we reflect and therefore are able to love others with. "And Love is reflected in love."

    God's Love to All!

  43. Great message, Marta, reminding me of your great lecture in Attleboro, MA recently! It was wonderful to finally meet you and hear you share your unconditional love with everyone present! I learned a lot and cherish it!

  44. What a simple yet profound message. Unconditional love - such an inspiring standard to live by, and one that eventually all will embrace. Thank you Marta.

  45. THANK YOU, MARTA!
"GIVE, GIVE, GIVE, NOT ME, ME, ME."

    Psalm 133
1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

  46. Dear Marta,
Just beautiful ... simply the best and most profound message there
could ever be!!! Thank you !!!

  47. Thank you a thousand times, Marta. Perfect explanation of what real LOVE is.

  48. Thank you.
    I received it.

  49. Thanks Marta for the powerful healing message! You are the best! Happy day to all!

  50. I'm so grateful for this LIFT. I'm dealing with a situation with neighbors and this was exactly what I needed to hear. I look forward to a complete healing now. Thank you!

  51. Thank you, Marta, for putting into words what your life is all about. We can all choose to "Go on loving until that which offends us is turned into an opportunity that blesses." The "under all conditions" part can keep us busy all day!

  52. Dearest Marta, thank you so much for your clear explanation of Agape love in both the lift and your comments. The first time I heard this term was when I attended a Methodist Church with my daughter and son-in-law. The preacher went into some detail on the different types of love included in the Bible. And I, too, want to assure Phyllis (#6) that all mankind should practice and express this unconditional love. What a wonderful world this would be!

  53. Love is the fulfilment of the law. I intend to carry this message with me today. thank you

  54. So good! And I liked your ending, "Be in the responding business". The word 'responding' leaped out at me as if to say this requires ACTIVE COMMITMENT.

  55. Thank you Marta.

As I was listing to your radical and revolutionarey message of unconditional love........here comes a hummingbird to visit the feeder pm my office window pane ................to listen, even better to feel this all-embracing agape. What a darling visitor to complete the picture.

The little visitor has flown off yeet the message continues to resound.

  56. Thank you so much Marta for your lovely message!
This message is an expression of divine love (agape), it is so inclusive, universal and powerful that it surpasses the geographical barriers and touches us with the touch of Christ, the universal Healer, the timeless Comforter and all-loving.

    I Jonh 4:8, 1Corinthians 13

Thomas Jay Oord has defined agape as "an intentional response to promote well-being in response to those who generated a malaise."

  57. Thank you Marta for this lift and the love agape you express behind those words. I found this quote attributed to Mary Baker Eddy recently in the MBE library in a notebook kept by Laura Sargent: "We were not individualized outside our brother but one with him as the Christ hence the command to love our neighbor as ourselves" So loving (agape) our brother is really loving ourselves as God knows us.

  58. "Unconditional" eliminates the little "e" ego. Thank you!

  59. Thank You Marta for a beautiful message. I always look forward to your uplift. This what life is all about. Loving your neighbor. I will be expressing this with all my customers today and always.

  60. This takes several "listenings-to"! thank you, Marta ... a wonderful goal for today and always...

  61. I love it, love it, love it!! Thanks so much Marta for living and breathing that agape love and expressing ideas will such warmth. Our challenging moments are opportunities to respond and not react... Be in the responding business. I also especially liked your extra effort to write your sources and also your own comments on readers. Yes indeed Phyllis #6 is included in the universal agape love and all other religion. Hugs. :)

  62. Thank You for this heartfelt reminder! I will do this!

  63. Marta, thank you for your clear message of true divine love that includes all mankind and never leaves anyone out. Complete means just that, all-inclusive and ever- present. Beautiful message and command to give, give, give and let selfishness be unheard and unseen.
Love to you and all who share in the messages and all who produce these wonderful daily lifts.

  64. Dear Marta,
thank you so much for this lift. It simply touched my heart.
I am specially thankful for your intervention in the comments. It made me feel included in this universal Love.
I want to thank all the participants who shared so generously.

  65. Thank you, Marta for this reminder, so beautifully put!

  66. The timing was perfect... I've been working on a situation where I need to use this idea this week - respond not react.

    Thank you, thank you!

  67. Thank you, Marta, for another message of love from you. You just exude love, and are teaching us how to do the same.

  68. As you were speaking it came so clearly to me that giving to others need not deplete our own resources since Spirit is the source of all supply. We are enriched by giving. Thank you for your example of giving.

  69. To think that Love can turn that which offends us into an opportunity to think and do the right is a wonderful message and thank you Marta

  70. Thank-you Marta for this gift of agape. I too love to listen to your loving expression of Love. Thanks also for the references for deeper study.

  71. Great message Marta! They say that "everything is either love or a cry for love"!

I like the happy summertime traveling music at the start and end! I have to go do boring farm work now, but you started my day with a great feeling! Maybe God will have a surprise for me today!

  72. Just yesterday I was talking to my daughter about the need to respond and not react (clearly we were hearing the same message). Sometimes it's not the easiest thing to do. I went to bed last night with a headache, distraugt over someone's negative behavior. Your message this morning has given me the fuel to get back on track...I am not going to indulge self thinking patterns (reaction) but instead fix firmly in my thought love that only sees God's beautiful creation (respond). The blessings that will follow for ALL concerned will be wonderful. Thank you Marta! I will revisit this lift several times today!

  73. Perfect I just love this idea. Its sooo right! This is one of the main reasons I love Jesus so much; he demonstrated our inate abilty to agape LOVE time after time after time. When we're confronted with conflict of any description, to mortal mind this may appear to be a weakness, but HEY the Truth is always the inverse of this! Therefore this must be where the True Power of God is. I will try to AGAPE LOVE at every seeming conflict. Marta many thanks for this. God Bless Everyone...

  74. Thank you, #57 Roger from Virginia! From your beautiful comment - I got that when Jesus said to love your neighbor as yourself, it's because our neighbor REALLY IS ourself - the one Christ - the One Reflection of God. There is only ONE God and only ONE Man, or Christ! Yahoo!

  75. Dear Marta,
this is just the message I needed. Perfect ! There is no alternative to agape-love. That is the way ! thank you so much!

  76. "Challenging moments are really opportunities for deeper expressions of Love"--Wow. I accept that as a child of God/Love, I am equal to this task: to meet each "challenging moment" as an invitation to go deeper, beyond any mortal "me, me,me" reaction. I can choose to let the healing/revealing truth of Love well up and overflow, drenching that "challenging moment, washing it clean, and allowing it to become a moment of blessing. Ah yes . . . Love is more than equal to this task, and I claim that because I am a child of Love, it is divinely natural for me to respond in this way.

  77. Gratitude and love to you Marta, for sincere
reassurance, that,.. "Love is the liberator."

  78. Absolutely Wonderful. This Lift is full to the brim of the most practical idea that will fill us and those in our experience with the active love that transforms the world for the better. Thank You.

  79. Thanks!
everyone on the planet needs to hear this lift, and take in the thoughts!

  80. Thank you for this wonderful healing and responding thought. It met a need that I was fussing about, We do receive our answers, if we take the time to listen.

  81. Thanks,Marta, for this lovely reminder of the magnanimous love we are CAN express.

liked the comment about the crows from a listener.

  82. Thanks so much, Marta, for this great lift telling us of God's unconditional love for mankind and how we reflect this agape. I'm also grateful to be reminded of what a valuable aid Strong's Exhaustive Concordance is in our study of the Bible. In the past I have used it, and now I'll get back to it.

  83. Bless you Marta for giving me just the message I needed to be reminded of todayf!

Thank You so much for your wonderful example of it !!!

  84. Wonderful, wonderful message. Mahalo nui loa (thank you very much), as they say in Hawaiian! What good we can all do practicing agape!

  85. Thank you Marta, The perfect directive to meditate on this day!

I always have been a shy about sharing Christian Science with friends. Now I find I want to send "Lifts" to everybody I know. Letting the Christian Science light so shine before men.

  86. This must be heaven!

  87. I can't remember where I read it (I'm sure it must be from something Mrs. Eddy wrote), but the idea that silence is sometimes the best response, has been a helpful lesson for
    me.

Thank you Marta. Your warmth and tender loving persuasion were felt. I know from your lectures that you have had many opportunities to love unconditionally what seemed to be your not so lovable 'neighbor.' You truly are love (agape) lived and it came through your message!

I did find this in "No and Yes" by Mrs. Eddy: "We should endeavor to be long-suffering, faithful, and charitable with all. To this small effort let us add one more privilege - namely, silence whenever it can substitute censure." [page 8:3]

Isn't it wonderful that we have such a diversified Daily Lift family! Everyone is truly cherished. Thanks to all for your helpful comments.

  88. Thanks for the wonderful uplift Marta.

  89. This message reminded me of the response the Amish had when their school was attacked and children killed. Many times we hear of forgiveness and love in the news, oh, if we could love in that way. Mrs. Eddy's balconey scene and the agape love that was present and was written about. I will not be so selctive in my love and live it as Marta says. Thank you for this beautiful lift.

  90. Thank you for participating #6 ! I have always felt that Jews were "strong on exclusion" ! But we all, whatever our religion, should be inclusive in our love for others, and that is what will bring peace to the Middle East and to Israel. To do this, we all must look above race, or gender, to the individual of God's creating----not the mortal of error's claims. Great thought today, and one which I needed as a reminder....

  91. a·gape1    /əˈgeɪp, əˈgæp/ Show Spelled[uh-geyp, uh-gap] Show IPA

with the mouth wide open, as in wonder, surprise, or eagerness:

*We stand 'agape' @ the splendor of 'AGAPE'... and the beautiful way Marta expresses this unconditional, all-inclusive LOVE!!
    thank you!!

  92. This message of Agape Love is so needed in my life today...and the transmission coming through you Marta is so powerful—pure Love!
    Thank you.

  93. Perfect timing for me! Thank you, Marta. I'd just finish working on a post for the discussion forums here, and had included remarks on unconditional love as it fit the topic in it. Writing about it, still didn't mean I'd mastered it, and I made a mental note to work more on it myself. Before posting it, I paused to check the Daily Lift, and you covered it so lovingly, and thoroughly. That gave me time to mention your Lift in the posting. I can't think of a topic I need to work on more, even though so much day to day events grab center stage in thought. I believe if I could grow in expressing agape more, probably the attention grabbers would be less often, less bold. Loving has to be the most necessary spiritual “element” we require for healthy, happy, fruitful life. Like air, if we hold our breath frequently and for long durations, we're going to have unpleasant results. Love is more essential than air for our being, needed every second, everyday, every way. We receive all the unconditional love we need from the Father to breathe in and out pure love. I won't be finished with your Lift when this day is done.
#4, Tajud, Beautiful thought & purpose. #6 Phyllis, thanks for commenting. We don't have a corner on God, Love. It isn't an us, us, us world. By all means you are UNCONDITIONALLY loved by Him, by us, and can love others the same. Jesus also was Jewish. He expressed agape, and told us to love one another. That doesn't sound like we're to limit love to only certain people or religious followers.

  94. It is O so difficult to respond with Love and so easy to react. Just love, love, love is what we can do when we seem to hear much violence and sexuality in the media. When I listen with Love, I can hear only the echoes of that Love. Mrs. Eddy tells us that Love is reflected in love. Thanks for the reaffirming Lift.

  95. What a wonderful LIFT to get even at the end of the day! Such a strong reminder of what we should NEVER not do - AGAPE, and a message (and lift) I certainly needed today after a rather unfortunate church incident. So, thank you with all my heart for your devoted work.

  96. To our newest friend, Phyllis #6, The Christ is for us the Messiah, Jesus, the embodiment of the only God. Since Jesus birth we accepted both as inseparable, -as one, so we call him Jesuschrist or Christ Jesus. But the Messiah is not limited to Christianity, it was there with Mosses, Jacob, Elijah, David and many more, it’s not limited to one religion nor to a specific time. I think the Messiah came to keep us on track so we wouldn’t forget we are God’s image and likeness -My version.
But you might want to hear how Rabbi David Louis understood it here, http://tmcyouth.com/media/library/a-jewish-rabbi. Thank you, Marta, for John 3:16

  97. Translation to #6, Phyllis
He encontrado su expresión "radical" y "revolucionaria", poderosa, y perfecta.

  98. marta--loved listening to your voice...and your message. it reinforces my daily desire to show love to everyone with whom i come in contact--friends certainly...but particularly strangers. peace in this world begins at home but must be expressed outside our doors unceasingly.

6 phyllis: i am a christian who was married to the most loving, compassionate conservative jew for 30 years (unfortunately he passed on in late 2004). we shared in one another's celebrations which clearly enriched us both. jesus, too, was a jew. mbe writes "jesus of nazareth was the most scientific man that ever trod the globe. he plunged beneath the material surface of things, and found the spiritual cause."

i hope, dear phyllis, that a) you do not feel discounted....and b) that you read all the beautiful comments that others have focused on you.

alas: my comments on daily lift tend to be at the tail end...guess that's the price i pay for living in the los angeles time zone. lucky for me, however, i read so many beautiful responses that precede mine. always a blessing to my heart and soul. agape to all! sincerely yours.

  99. Thank you dear Marta - spot-on ! as the FIFA Soccer World Cup closes here in South Africa and we wish to nurture the spirit of "ubuntu" (probably the African equivalent of 'agape'?) which the tournament impelled! It has united South Africans in a way few have before experienced! We've enjoyed a colourful celebration of our unity in music, dancing, and noise, negating differences of race and creed, as together we've welcomed the world to our beautiful country and its beautiful people!!!
I'm glad you are having time at home before you lecture-tour again. We remain very grateful for your lectures here and how good it is to keep in touch via the uplifting Daily Gifts! Agape-Love from all in the Western Cape!!!

  100. WOW. I love it. What blesses one blesses all. When you bless/love some one else you are loving/blessing yourself as well. We are all the body of the Christ.

  101. Thank you. This little 'lift' certainly made a difference in my work today.

  102. Hi Phyllis (#6)

I am a Jew who converted to Christianity, and eventually to Christian Science. The thing that drew me most strongly to Christianity was the centrality of love (Agape). Jesus - himself a Jew - brought Love to the Law. That love is cetainly not just for Christians, but for all God's children - perhaps not only for those of us living on this planet, but for all beings throughout His infinite Universe.

    Love, Maggie

  103. I'm not a Christian Scientists but I've read Science and Health Keys to the Scriptures along with the Bible, and currently reading the Bible lessons. Within the last month I've found my self in overwhelming debt which I've never experienced before, I have been working on getting rid of fear and focusing on who I am, the Gen 1 made in the image of God, but I don't feel the healing or calm that I read so many testify about. I lone for that calm, that agape. I know you may be asking why am I posting this here. The lift today is about agape love. I am reaching out to a world of people tuned in whom I believe understand God's Good that I may feel that love from each and that I share that same love back as well as to those that are going to the same or similar debt issues, who is not even aware they are being lifted up, and that they receive God's spritual ideas which is our Good for all needs at the point I do if not sooner. Since agape is unconditional there's no need to explain the debt, but I will say it was organized deceipt that prey on whom they may and I was in a vulnerable mental state. I am also praying for those that preyed on me that they too be healed and know who they are in Spirit. I don't know what else to do but seek God's love which is everyone, even here. Thank you all for enduring my comments. Thank you Marta for a lift that granted me this opportunity. I am grateful, I don't feel so along after posting this comment.

  104. :) Such a wonderful Lift! Thank you Marta!!! :)

  105. These Daily Lifts are spot-on and so timely! This morning I was quietly praying and reading a recent Christian Science Sentinal in a neighborhood cafe in Oakland, CA. Before my friend arrived, a stranger came in to speak to me. I felt he was responding to the agape-love I was feeling for the community and world. Marta, thank you for the healing inspiration and new vocabulary word I plan to refer to often!

  106. Thank you so much Marta.
    With love

  107. Thank you so much, Martha! Your inspiration filled my heart with joy when I read it early in the morning!
And now it´s late at night and I couldn´t let to tell you that your ideas helped me a lot a few minutes ago. I had an appointment with someone who came to me asking for some "light" to her chalenges.
And, basically, I told her about God´s unconditional love you talk about in your lift. And there´s no need to tell you the significant shift produced on this person as soon as she heard it! "Now I can feel the peace I was looking for!": she told me as she left my place.
I´m very grateful to realize one more time Christ´s presence in our lives!

  108. Hi, Marta! Thanks for the insight into a new word for my vocabulary! Inspiration.

  109. How lovely. I was thinking of one of my closest friends and how she serves the community as a "First Responder" in emergency circumstances. Your sweet daily lift today emphasizing Agape Love and the responding to it made me think of how we all are in a sense "First Responders" in all events that occur requiring our clear headed thinking and loving when sometimes the circumstances don't appear to make those involved so lovable. May we respond with Agape Love during each interaction and let that be our first response always. The idea of First Responder has taken on a whole new idea for me because of your wonderful lift. Thank you kindly, C.Steed

  110. Dear Marta, thank you for such a wonderful daily lift. I hear the terms "radical", "revolutionary" and "transformation" used frequently throughout daily televised news programs, but in a significantly negative outlook. It has made me feel a great sense of doom for my country and our way of life. However, your suggestion that we can (and should) express agape LOVE in a "radical", "revolutionary" or "transformational" way was most comforting to me and gave me a whole new perspective. Thank you so much!

  111. What a helpful and useful message to receive this morning something to really put into practice with joy each day. Thank you -

  112. To #103, Truly Grateful, You're wrapped in my loving prayers and I think in many others. Thank you for sharing. You may not be a member of Christian Science, but you're working like one on this problem, including praying for those who did you wrong. That's what Marta described as agape. Many years ago a school graduation issue arose that threatened my daughter. She was 8th in her class, with 22 credits when only 18 were then required, but because she practiced CS, didn't have the ½ credit in Health. She was a senior well in her last semester. The state refused to let the county graduate her, with threat of withholding all state school funds. No county in our state can afford that, most especially that mountain rural one. Our Commmittee on Publication for Ky. tried to comfort me, saying at least we now knew what we had to work on for future students, and to know God was using her to further His work. Small comfort! She wanted to be a teacher and had to have the diploma. I was crushed, but a CS Journal came in the mail, and an article lifted my thoughts enough to soon hear an angel message. It said: “The Love that uses Joni, includes her.” That brought instant peace and became a law to me. To fast forward, she got the exemption. That basic truth is always applicable.

I share this because it came to me that you're working to express agape, and using it, you're included in it, because it's the Father that gives you agape to use for His other ideas. Love isn't just a sweet sounding noun. It is God, and includes everything God is and has for Love's beloved ideas. Whatever you need is included in Love, and will bless everyone involved. Love meets your need. I'm holding to that prayer of affirmation. It is true of everyone in any economic situation or times.

  113. Jesus final instructions to Peter on the subject of giving love, was to "Feed my sheep..feed my sheep, feed my lambs". I think we need to search for and cherish the innocence, the receptiveness, the honesty we find in others, and be alert to avoid the opposite qualities like greed and bigotry. Peter seems to have had a stern disdain of mammon.

  114. This lift and its comments are of deep significance. There is healing going on within the Lift community and we know it is a reflection of infinite Love and therefore a powerful, effective law making adjustments to our experiences. # 102 Truly Grateful, thank you for your honest sharing. There is a wonderful article called God's Law of Adjustment available in most CS Reading Rooms that is very encouraging, especially when situations are extreme. Your "gratitude" and prayer, reflections of God as Mind, are commendable and demonstrate faith, trust, and hope - remember the power of the Biblical mustard seed and the mere touch of the hem. love, Tracy

  115. Instead of "Oh, poor me, they don't appreciate or return my love!", "Yay, Us! Thanks, God, for giving me this gift/person/opportunity to practice unconditional love and bless, to feel Love's grace and Oneness/Allness!"

As a dear one in our church long said, "Everything is just a call to love." Rude behavior, meanness, injustice? Love with Love's love.

  116. What a blessing you are Marta...to the WORLD!!!!! You have hit the nail on the head (as always). Eric

  117. Thank you for all of the many Truths you share for us all! This message of Agape Love, to be this Love, to know, see, hear, express only this uninhibited Love is true peace and joy and power and it brings healing and harmony to everyone!!!

  118. What a great message! So grateful for this "from me-me-me" to "give-give-give"... That is the key to everything including the key to a meaningful life "in the responding business"!

  119. 103 Truely Grateful - you have much to be grateful for right here and now: first this is the only place you could get such pure love to comfort and uplift you at this time. Mrs Eddy says "The greatest wrong is but a supposititous opposite of the highest right." (Science and Health page 368: 1- 2) Right now you can assert your intrinsic right as the beloved daughter of an everpresent God, Love. God does supply every need you aren't even aware of yet. When I was in a similar position, God said "Never underestimate God's provision." Just maintain your "attitude of gratitude" as Marta says in one of her lectures, and allow God to give you the superabundance that is rightfully yours, and that you cannot be deprived of. You will not only win, Truely Grateful, you will triumph! Rejoice!

  120. So beautiful! Agape love, I will embrace this. Thank you for sharing this loving thought!

  121. Marta,
Thank you so much for this wonderful call to agape!
I also like your post script about "perfect" meaning complete in the original Greek, that makes so much sense :-) it illuminates the citation in quite a different way for me.

  122. It's Thursday, and I just listened to this Tuesday's Daily Lift. Soooo nice. Thank you.

  123. Dear #103 Truly Grateful: your moniker says it all: you will be led in wondrous ways to be free of that debt, and the lessons you learn along the way will help the world (all of us!). So bless you for your pure desire and willing heart.

Please let us know, #103, how you're doing. I hope you found "God's Law of Adjustment" at a Reading Room. Also, you might ask a practitioner or teacher or other well-read Christian Scientist about how you can find the book by Rev. Severin E. Simonsen titled ""From The Methodist Pulpit into Christian Science
and How I Demonstrated the Abundance of Substance and Supply." How he demonstrated that all daily needs are met by reliance on God is incredible, and his biblically based understanding of how we can all do the same is so practical. (He was an early practitioner of Christian Science.)

We're all truly grateful for your coming forth and sharing, Truly Grateful. :-)

  124. Thank U!

    Simply beautiful!
